I love that Universal Japan is so unique and quirky! They don't go the traditional scary route and it's perfect for visitors that can't take too much blood, gore, and violence. I love the dancing dolls too haha
And even their scare actors don't really invade your personal space. I love Japanese culture haha

I feel like the scare zones at USJ are better than the ones I've seen in the US. The possessed creepy play toys is such an amazing concept and they really delivered.
I do enjoy the ones here in Japan, the outfits are outrageous sometimes.
Ok without a doubt Chucky in Japan is ten times scarier than what we have in America. I was terrified of him as a kid but find him hilarious now . Here though he's freaking me out.
I do like that they try different things here with him. They don't have any merch of him this year (that I saw) but he'll sometimes have cute stuff, haha.
In the US Chucky is only scary in the movies and now his TV shows but not in the parks
The chances of me going to USJ, let alone any Universal is slim to none for anytime soon. But you give me the sense of experiencing it, with a bestie! I watch them everyday before going to class just to escape for a while. You're my fave comfort channel and always will be!!!
Japan is SO AMAZING! I can't wait to go one day! I am def a instant fan of Hamikuma too! I remember you showing him last year too. I love him and his design!! Japan knows how to make cool looking characters and you want all their plushies!!

I just came back from Japan and I absolutely LOVED Horror Nights at USJ. I agree that 2 days is better because there's so much to do. The Sadako ride was pretty intense but I loved it. My personal favorite scare zone was the one with the chainsaws because they gave me a good scare. That Ado song is definitely stuck in my head and I'm okay with that. Definitely was a highlight of my Japan trip. Informative content as always, Chris! Helped me out a lot at the Tokyo Disney Parks and Universal Studios Japan!

It's so interesting how they have their houses open during the day! I definitely see that being a perk, you can incorporate the houses into your day and have more time to eat and relax instead of having to cram everything in to a timed event. It also appeals to someone like me who cannot take a lot of that kind of stuff at once, most horror based Halloween events are not for me due to the complete sensory overload.
I like the way it's done here! It's almost like a "choose your own adventure" with add-ons throughout the year. I love that.

I think it's pretty cool that they have the event open for any guests that comes to Universal Studios Japan. It seems a bit more special if someone comes there that day because something is sure to happen whether it's the Horror Nights or the family friendly event.

Saw you walk by as we were entering Universal Monsters: Legends of Fear. We watched the Hami Kuma stage show three times. Loved it! Can vouch the view is good from the sidewalk by the T2 building and you don't have to get there too early for a decent spot. Bought my annual pass too.

I agree, the ring was one movie that I actually had to get picked up from a sleepover because I couldn't sleep and kept feeling like she was crawling from behind my hoodie >.< lol
So excited for to be going Wednesday. Just finished Disney today did three days and now staying in Tokyo tonight and exploring the city tomorrow for 2 days then go to Fuji Q highland park. Thanks Chris your advice definitely helped me so much and Disney was amazing

I feel those of us who dislike olives are a minority based on the comments I'm seeing, hahah.
I was here just a bit over week ago (12th of October) and most Hamikuma merch was sold out - they only had t-shirts and pen-cases. I was so sadden by this.
But is was still a great experience! Will definitely go again during Halloween time !
I went on sadakos curse a few weeks ago. scariest ride I have EVER been on. they take you through a crazy ass science lab where they accidently leak the ring video taope to the crowd and curse everyone hahaha. its soooooo creepy man like another level. Then you enter the ride, its a roller-coaster and absolutely insaneeeee. Its mainly pitch black and you get so many jump scares and loud screams that sound like they are in your ear. The ride dumps you down the well (as seen in the ring movie) and as you get dumped sideways, you hear the most epic scream ever
Finally, a churro with tasting! ❤ and olives are butt. 😂 another great show this year!
Trust me, I was surprised too! The Resident Evil churro balanced it out though, haha.

The wondering around happened to me today at Disney Sea Sebastian restaurant so definitely recommend the saving the seat first tip. I learned the hard way today and I had pizza there and used a knife and fork.
Definitely get a spot before, unless told otherwise, or you'll be standing there awkwardly like in a cafeteria in middle-school trying to decide where to sit haha. Meanwhile your food gets cold. I hope you still had fun regardless!
I always wanted to go the the Universal Studios and the horror nights, but I‘m from Europe and I always thought this would take at least another 5 years…
I‘m doing my semester abroad this year in Osaka and will be there from September to February. So I‘m pretty lucky to at least visit the park in Japan :D

Question: I know you can only get one timed ticket a day for Biohazard, but is it possible to wait in line to do the other route? Huge RE fan, and I really really want to go through both sides!
I am Japanese. There is a way to participate in both.If you get a numbered ticket and finish one experience, you can get the next numbered ticket again.However, there are restrictions on the distribution of numbered tickets.Please make sure to get the first numbered ticket in the morning.Have a good time！😊

You can check the tickets booths but there's no way to know if they'll have any until the day of your visit. They're usually sold out so I wouldn't rely on it.
In the philippines we always look for a spot to sit before we order our food 😂 if your alone usually you can place an umbrella or a water bottle on the table so other people can know its takem

The scare zones in USJ just look better than the ones in the states. I'm also a huge Resident Evil fan and would love to do the Biohazard house someday, I'm so curious as to what the differences are between Leon and Claire. Does Mr. X follow Leon more, is Mr. X in there to begin with? Just knowing I was being followed by that thing would be scarier than any lickers.

Did the rides stay open during the Halloween horror nights ?
Interesting cultural difference at timestamp 4:20. In the US you would be asked not to save a table. Instead you will be asked to get your food first and then find a table. This ensures that no one is hogging space because it can take some time to get your food and bring it back. Even if one person in your party sits down and the rest of your party gets up to get food, that person may be asked to give up the table. Of course it all depends on the restaurant, how busy it is, and how alert the crew is. But it's something to be aware of for foreigners vacationing in the US. At peak times cast members can and will police groups that try to snag a seat first.
How can we book tickets for No Limit! Countdown 2024 ? is it even possible for gaijins to get ahold of ?

Went to Universal the other day. It’s such a shame how much of there merchandise was sold out even some of the Super Nintendo stuff. Had a smiler experience with Disney 40th and Halloween products as well.
You have to buy as you see as I think some stuff just goes as soon as they release it.

Hi!! Im from singapore and i just wanna give u some tips on gg hhn this year unless u know about them already 😂😂😂
So in Singapore, because it’s very hot, you’ll def be sweating in the haunted houses as well, so you should def bring a fan with you:”)
And the waiting time is SO SO SO LONG, so what I do is I wait for everyone to leave first and see where most people are running to and head to the other houses. Or you could simply get the R.I.P. Tour tickets for an express pass and to just zoom through everything 😂😂😂
Theres also a scaremoney at the beginning so i suggest u head on there earlier than 6:30pm to explore around USS, and get some food as well because when everybody is there, you are going to be squished HAHAHA
Another thing to note is that the houses and scare zones are mostly inspired by our local horror stories. So it feels more real than acting.

Even when I neighbored Universal in Orlando while I worked for Disney World, I was never driven to go to HHN at Universal. And I love Halloween! But this… what USJ is doing, I’d probably go multiple times in one year!! This looks so fun!!
I love seeing how different and unique HHN is at USJ 🥰🥰 the only thing I’m kinda bummed about is with RE4 Remake being so successful, it would’ve been really cool to see more of that for the Resident Evil representation in the house this year- you could even still have a Leon and Ada route!! But it still looks amazing nonetheless

I went to USJ on the 14 of October 😭 and I wanted Hamikuma Katyusha merch so bad… but there wasn’t much. And when I did see some stuff on a display one of the employees told me it was only for people who live in Japan… I’m guessing it was pre-sale where they are able to send you the items??? Or you can pic them up? 😢

Japan is certainly different to the US. Not really chuffed to do any of them myself. I'm more a friendly halloween than a scary one.

Nope. They did announce a few weeks ago about a small halloween event but it's not HHN so it doesn't count imo. They also announced it wayyyyy too late for me to even try and plan anything.
