Reminds me of the 3 game series the Mets had in Atlanta 2022 Sept 30th to October 2nd that decided the Division Championship where the Mets got swept. Mets had there Top 3 starters Sherzher, DeGrom & Bassitt all lined up & needed 1 Win.
Ive been a loyal die hard Mets fan since 1967 (Yes, I'm old) but I hate fair-weather fans - I have watched and/or followed every Mets game through all the ups and downs this franchise has had but this year feels special and magical. Iglesias has been amazing and I think the Mets are gonna get in the postseason and surprise some people. LGM!!! OMG

@MJ....You hit it on the head with Iglesias...He has been incredible...Mr Consistency in EVERY At-Bat...Iglesias is the toughest out BY FAR for any pitcher facing the METS this season.
@@wandameadows5736 Opposite actually and nothing like 2022....The 2022 ATL Team was MUCH better than this 2024 Version, as is, especially with numerous ATL players missing through injury....While this 2024 METS Team is better than the 2022 METS, even though the 2022 METS won 101 Games...The long-term records prove the point...Since May 29th the 2024 METS are 65 - 36 @ +29 Games over .500...Since May 29th the 2024 Braves are 54 - 49 @ +5 Games over .500...Even lately the METS are playing MUCH better than ATL @ 18 - 5 vs 12 -11 for the Braves... I would expect the METS to go 2 - 1 in ATL...But, with a 2 Game lead, even if the METS go 1 - 2, they still have a 1 Game lead with 3 Games to go...The only reason ATL and the METS are close in record is the first 55 Games of the season where the METS were terrible @ 22 - 33 before turning it around, while ATL was 32 - 23...So, basically the METS and ATL have gone in completely different directions since then and ATL has faded while the METS have surged...Recent PHI series for each are also telling where METS went 3 - 1 vs Division-leading Phillies, while ATL was 1 - 3 in their last series vs PHI, ATL's collapse in PHI was the single series which allowed the METS to come from 4 Games back to catch ATL and surpass the Braves with the METS current 2 Game lead on the Braves
Yes but this team is finally clicking i have a cousin who says the mets when they had Verlander scherzer they never clicked gel together but this met team for some reason ia just clicking together and doing it without Lindor
I agree but I will admit this team feels different than the 2022 team. The 2022 team wasn’t playing well and when they went into Atlanta you just knew they were going to lose. This year has been the opposite, you can feel the momentum the mets have right now I think they take 2/3 from the braves
If you would have told me this season we were going to be 11 games under 500 i would have thought this was an impossible task these things only happen to other teams why not us! We may shock the world for real and it wouldn’t surprise any other fan base except us we have come to embrace the suck as Mets fans! Think about or September numbers already the best one in my lifetime! LFGNYM!!!
I can’t attest to what the umpire said, but you can see that he did say something to Pete and you can see Pete acknowledge him and then proceeds to tip his helmet to the crowd. Looks like it might be probable that the ump did in fact make Alonso aware of the crowd.
Why...?? They got BLOWN OUT by the Phillies in Game 2 on Friday and came back to win the next 2...!! These METS are very resilient this Year, if nothing else...They have suffered numerous devastating late or extra innings loses and come right back...One of the reasons they are very good this Year...Especially because their Manager trusts them. Look at how Mendoza went right back to Diaz after Diaz blew the SD & ARI games which Diaz then responded to with lights out performances from there...Losses don't bother the METS...In fact, losses make these METS hungrier
Evan, sorry bro you’re wrong. He gets out there, the crowd is on its feet. He takes a couple hacks, the Umpire says something to him and he takes a step back and tips his helmet. He was locked in to the at bat, he wasn’t in a hurry to tip his cap.
Pete strikes me as pretty humble actually...so, the Ump reminding him isn't a surprise...Agree with you that he was locked-in and focused on the at-bat
Remember when Sal said that mark vientos wasn’t it? That he scouted him for years and decided he wasn’t good enough to play in the MLB? If so why are we still putting any weight into anything WFAN says
I would argue that they didn’t have injury issues: Senga number 1 pitcher out all year Álvarez missed time Marte missed time McNeil out for season Lindor now Nunez out for season Drew Smith out for season Peterson started season hurt
@@stanfromwestport2024 I saw it at the RIO sports book...of course it can be taken down, but as far as I'm concerned it makes a pretty good case cause as one gentleman there mentioned to me...both teams seem to be peaking at this time🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

I think that is a great suggestion...manufacturing runs on their own...+ setting the table for the HRs behind them probably leads to increased runs production...Maybe Carlos reads these posts, not that he and the Staff haven't thought about it...

Evan as a wrestling fan should appreciate this: The Mets are Cody Rhodes and it’s time for them to Finish The Story.
Bingo!
@@EpochFail80 love the analogy the mets need to finish this story!
Orange and Blue Skies!!!!
I love Roberts. Amazing radio host. Really speaks from the heart ❤️ but at same time tells it like it is with rational analysis.
I would put Alonso as DH and Vientos !st base this way we can have Lindor, Acuña and Iglesias are in the game
Have Lindor DH
Yes, Have Lindor DH and keep him healthy.
I'd rather keep lindor dh at this point
You guys really should rewatch this! It will be insightful for your future understandings

Mets need to not get too excited at the plate. Take your walks have the confidence the next man up will get the hit.
