Tarantella del Gargano - Livia Giaffreda & La Barca

This is a traditional Montanara, a performative style belonging to the area of northern Puglia, in south east of Italy.
Many people know it as the Tarantella del Gargano, the mountain region where it comes from.
Among the countless verses you can sing on this traditional melody, here there are the most famous ones, recorded for the first time with the voice of Andrea Sacco in the album "Tarantella del Gargano" curated by Eugenio Bennato.
A love song about a fountain of spring water placed in a garden of gold and precious stones. A bird would fly on it and sing his love to his beauty.
