I used to hate the answer "just start" but as a new UA-camr I can now say that is 100% IT ! If you have a phone you can start creating content. It doesn't have to be perfect (it will not be perfect) but the more you do it the better you will get. One thing I like doing is going to the very first videos of my fav UA-camrs to look at how they started and how much they have improved throughout the years. Do the same and use it as inspiration :) With my iPhone 11, iMovie and my $5 mic from FiveBelow (for the voiceovers) I've been creating my vids and growing little by little. Don't overthink it

That’s interesting! I put in 2 years into TikTok- I’m at 360K & the creator fund is garbage. The only thing that makes it lucrative is brand Collabs, but it’s just not consistent income, and that has been my issue. Ive been putting all of my time into YT. Luckily, i was able to repurpose all of that hard work content to YT shorts. I love your channel btw ❤ TY 🎉

Bria, I appreciate you being so transparent about the issues you had with your management agencies, because SO many creators deal with these same problems, but rarely does anyone talk about it publicly because a) they think it's embarrassing and b) confidentiality clauses may prevent them from discussing it in public. I've also been very open about my experiences with management. I'm seeing a LOT of creators going independent again instead of being signed to an agency. Aside from payment issues, which run RAMPANT and are especially worse if you're BIPOC and/or LGBTQ (you're getting paid last, babes) - the fundamental business model of an agency is the exact opposite of what they tell you it is. They act like they're out there pitching on your behalf but nope. They do zero pitching. All they do is milk you for your inbound inquiries and cross-sell other creators on the roster onto those. If you're lucky, they also cross-sell you onto other creators' campaigns. To you it seems like they're "bringing you business" but it's just them cross-selling onto another creator's opportunity. And that's why all these agencies insist on exclusive representation only. Because your true value to them is your pipeline of opportunities - they have no Rolodex of their own. They are not interested in increasing their revenue by adding you onto other campaigns - just in milking your pipeline. Also, it's not a coincidence that it's often the BIPOC and LGBTQ creators who languish on that roster, without the agency bringing them any deals. Because they're signed just to add "diversity" to the roster and make the agency look less racist/homophobic. But the agency has no interest in actually bringing you onto any deals they're negotiating. So to all my fellow creators: You can be your own manager. You don't need representation. I tripled my revenue the year after I declined to renew with my agency, negotiating everything in-house. My rates are now quadruple what they were back when I was signed. Pitching and negotiating is NOT rocket science. You can do this - you don't have to be some shrewd business genius. Also, remember this all happens over email! Not face-to-face or over the phone. So it's easy.

Nobody asked, but I’ve been growing my UA-cam channel WITHOUT any other social media. It’s been slow… very slow, BUT it is possible to grow a UA-cam channel without using other social media if you don’t want to have other platforms for any reason. Loved this! Thanks! ❤

Lol thanks for this video. I had the same thing during the BLM movement pop off. Got 7k in just a week. BUT they all peaced out by 2022 as the algorithm slowed down and as I started my youtube channel. I'm the same way. Focusing more attention on TikTok and UA-cam, leaving IG and Pinterest on the backburner until I'm ready to focus on them next.
