One is his danger sneeze that he has where he sneezes whenever there is incoming danger, this was seen in the intro of Sonic CD and was first made a thing in the old Sonic Manga. As in, Modern Sonic experienced Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, etc. Classic Sonic also experienced those same events. But thanks to the Time Eater, Classic Sonic became different. I'm personally on Team Mario. Most of Trye's arguments for Mario losing were iffy imo. Mario has quite a few feats that actually put him on par with Sonic's speed and strength (beating Dreamy Bowser and reacting to Launch Stars to name a couple). Not to mention that most of Mario's power ups could flat out counter most of Sonic's abilities, hell, even NEGATE DAMAGE (most of Mario's Battle Cards do that). Overall, Mario edges out high-extreme diff imo

Ok I’m going to be honest with you. Using Ty’s first video is not a good video because all it does is just downplay Mario and REALLY highball Sonic. Especially when he says 64, Galaxy, and Odyssey Mario are all different Mario’s. I mean there is no proof that all Mario’s (with the exception of Paper Mario, the race swap Mario’s, Movie Mario, tv shows Mario, and Mario Kun) are all different Mario’s. I mean heck Mario and Paper Mario are practically equal in terms of power since Bowser and Paper Bowser say to their respective Kamek that they think they’re equal to each other.

Okay, so let's lay this out piece by piece. Power: Both Mario and Sonic live in universes that contain hundreds of other infinite sized pocket dimensions, making their respective worlds 6D cosmological structures. And both Mario and Sonic can defeat beings powerful enough to just destroy or reality warp this 6D universe, just in their base forms no power-ups necessary. And with the Chaos Emeralds and Pure Hearts powering them up, Sonic and Mario each beat beings that were going to destroy all existing universes and/or timelines, those being Solaris and Dimentio. The thing is, for Mario that's basically his highest scaling, while Sonic has blatantly gotten much stronger since the Solaris fight. Infinite was stated more powerful than Solaris so if you wanna push it you could say by now Sonic is stronger in base than Solaris. But if you understandably don't want to stretch that far, Super Sonic 2 exists, a form that bullied The End, a being that considers Solaris insignificant. And Cyber Sonic could obliterate The End with a single attack. Either way you slice it, Sonic takes power. Durability: This is largely the same deal. Both have taken hits from beings that can shatter their universe like glass and get back up. Both have survived having an entire world/timeline consumed around them and were just knocked out for a minute. Both have fought foes with existence erasure hax and came out okay. But Sonic also has an ace up his sleeve, that being that the chaos emeralds can revive him should someone manage to kill him. This isn't a one up deal, more like dragon ball resurrection. Speed: This is the most important category for this debate because Sonic is not bound by the speed equation at all. He can move in places that have no concept of time, his speed can undo time erasure, he's traveled an infinite distance in finite time, and broke out of an endless pocket dimension with his speed. Sonic is immeasurable, bare minimum. No matter what crazy, "millions of times faster than light" feats Mario has, he's going to get murder stomped in speed alone if he can't break the speed equation himself. Thankfully there are two good arguments for this. For starters, Mario scaling to 6D, or sixth dimensional, logically would mean that he's transcended the fourth dimension which is time, granting Mario immeasurable speed by default. There's also a feat to support this, as in Mario RPG, the plumber was able to beat Culex who was the master of time and space and could consume it. Mario would have to have immeasurable speed to defeat Culex. So we have a logic based argument and a feat for immeasurable Mario. It's not a lot but I say we give it to him, cause again, if Mario can't at least hold his own in speed, then Sonic would literally be infinitely faster. Even still, Sonic easily takes speed. He scales much deeper and more solidly into immeasurable. Power-ups: Perhaps one of the biggest cases of quality vs quantity. Mario has way more power ups, but the vast majority of them aren't going to make much difference. Super Sonic alone counters the bulk of Mario's moveset, and roughly matches the power of the pure hearts. Then there's Super Sonic 2 who could casually toss around the End that his initial super form couldn't damage. Then there's Cyber Sonic, who one shot both Supreme and The End in one fell swoop. If Sonic busts out either of these higher forms, even mixing all his invincibility power-ups at once wouldn't save Mario. In conclusion, I think the Mario vs Sonic debate is a lot closer than some people give it credit for, but Sonic still manages to take the edge in almost every category, and depending on the statements and feats you accept, you could even argue base Sonic stomps on his own

Miles Morales, Trunks, Vegeta, Sasuke Uchiha, Midoriya, Martian Manhunter, Guts, Kratos, Carnage, Kakashi Hatake, Batman, Wolverine, Hulk, Killua Zoldyck, Link, Jiraiya, Ken Masters, Ben Tennyson, Son Goku, Saitama, Edward Elric, and Green Arrow (just a few) are all far, FAR more popular characters than their opponents who lost their fights whereas Dimitri from Fire Emblem, Static Shock, Sonya Blade, James Bond, Esdeath, Sanji, Hiei, Donkey Kong, Spyro the Dragon, Yang Xiao Long, and Astro Boy are all noticeably less popular or less celebrated than their opponents and they all won their fights against them. Sonic even won the No Holds Barred version of the original, and they admitted that they were intentionally nerfing Sonic in the prologue to make the fight more fair and use only their game versions exclusively, but I see no one bringing that up.

This would include stuff like the Mario party games, the Mario and Luigi Series and possibly Mario RPG. with scaling from Mario Dream Team and Paper Jam you can upscale him so high it's nuts, 1) its very clear that in paper jam both versions of Mario are basically equivalent in terms off stats, so he would easily scale to bare minimum base Paper Mario, but more importantly 2) In Mario and Luigi Dream Team, Bowser uses the dream stone to transform into Dreamy Bowser, a form that pulls all of the power the stone possesses. The dream stone contains within it the dream depo, Wich has an infinitely sized universe for every dreaming individual in Mario's own universe, and the people within those infinitely sized dreams dream themselves and it goes on infinitely, Infinite amounts of infinite dreams that create an infinite number of infinite universes. Mario and Luigi IN BASE take him out pretty easily. This would at the lowest possible lowball make them both 5th dimensional in terms of AP 6th and 7th are also very reasonable, and you can even scale them to infinite dimensional, though I have never seen the scans to prove this, however it seems very possible with how the dream depo functions. In terms of speed beating a 5th dimensional character at a minimum would by technicality make them far faster than anything Sonic has pulled of but that's a boring explanation if you want actual feats. For one if you think using Mario RPG is applicable then in that game you fight basically a stronger time eater in a timeless void wich is already infinite speed. For more Casual scaling he is also bare minimum FTL+ as he and the rest of the cast are capable of outswimming black holes in Mario Party. (the other black holes Mario didn't swim away from were either game mechanics the same a pit is for super sonic or a black hole that destroyed the universe) The final bit of Mario speed scaling Is from Mario Galaxy and it's more of a reactionary feat than travel speed, worlds, in galaxy at least, it is described that in order to travel to them you move accross space and time to reach them in the launch stars, these would launch Mario at immeasurable speed and he can still react to things flying at him like star bits meteors and the planet surface he is landing on. Which would give him immeasurable reaction speed. With the surprising advantage in speed a lot of Mario's more situational wincons become far more reasonable such as transmutating him with the gold flower and atomising him with the bubble flower. And due to the fact that he is by nature far more versatile than sonic even if you want to say that Mario isn't faster than super or hyper sonic which is very clearly wrong at this point, with how durable Mario is and how far greater number of options in terms of powerups and abilities he has than sonic he could easily outlast his options. Sorry for my rant this isn't directed at you or anything Nardful if you somehow miraculously read this I just wanted to get what I have to say out there. Because of how popular this guys video is, and the blatant downplay on his end for Mario Its most likely going to get a lot of people saying Mario would get destroyed by only looking at his barely quarter baked explanations. Sonic's top speed, if we're mentioning 7 world rings, generations, and forces. there's proof sonic has infinite speed, traveling an infinite distance in a finite amount of time. in seven world rings he runs in a dimension that's infinite in size in his base form, in generations he not only moves in white space with speed alone but also reverses the erased time effects by accelerating through time, and finally in forces he when he and the custom character are stuck in the nul void they escape it by just running even faster (keep in mind the nulvoid is confirmed to be infinite in size). I'm personally on Team Mario. Most of Trye's arguments for Mario losing were iffy imo. Mario has quite a few feats that actually put him on par with Sonic's speed and strength (beating Dreamy Bowser and reacting to Launch Stars to name a couple). Not to mention that most of Mario's power ups could flat out counter most of Sonic's abilities, hell, even NEGATE DAMAGE (most of Mario's Battle Cards do that). Overall, Mario edges out high-extreme diff imo

Ok I’m going to be honest with you. Using Ty’s first video is not a good video because all it does is just downplay Mario and REALLY highball Sonic. Especially when he says 64, Galaxy, and Odyssey Mario are all different Mario’s. I mean there is no proof that all Mario’s (with the exception of Paper Mario, the race swap Mario’s, Movie Mario, tv shows Mario, and Mario Kun) are all different Mario’s. I mean heck Mario and Paper Mario are practically equal in terms of power since Bowser and Paper Bowser say to their respective Kamek that they think they’re equal to each other.

Now, I firmly believe the battle is a stalemate. But I feel like the argument for Mario's canon was kinda dookie.
Fantastic points were made, as there are things in Mario that change every new game. But we don't consider SpongeBob a different character every time they change his backstory. (Which is a point I stole from Vinnimon Cinnimon. Okay, so let's lay this out piece by piece.
Power: Both Mario and Sonic live in universes that contain hundreds of other infinite sized pocket dimensions, making their respective worlds 6D cosmological structures. And both Mario and Sonic can defeat beings powerful enough to just destroy or reality warp this 6D universe, just in their base forms no power-ups necessary. And with the Chaos Emeralds and Pure Hearts powering them up, Sonic and Mario each beat beings that were going to destroy all existing universes and/or timelines, those being Solaris and Dimentio. The thing is, for Mario that's basically his highest scaling, while Sonic has blatantly gotten much stronger since the Solaris fight. Infinite was stated more powerful than Solaris so if you wanna push it you could say by now Sonic is stronger in base than Solaris. But if you understandably don't want to stretch that far, Super Sonic 2 exists, a form that bullied The End, a being that considers Solaris insignificant. And Cyber Sonic could obliterate The End with a single attack. Either way you slice it, Sonic takes power.
Durability: This is largely the same deal. Both have taken hits from beings that can shatter their universe like glass and get back up. Both have survived having an entire world/timeline consumed around them and were just knocked out for a minute. Both have fought foes with existence erasure hax and came out okay. But Sonic also has an ace up his sleeve, that being that the chaos emeralds can revive him should someone manage to kill him. This isn't a one up deal, more like dragon ball resurrection.
Speed: This is the most important category for this debate because Sonic is not bound by the speed equation at all. He can move in places that have no concept of time, his speed can undo time erasure, he's traveled an infinite distance in finite time, and broke out of an endless pocket dimension with his speed. Sonic is immeasurable, bare minimum. No matter what crazy, "millions of times faster than light" feats Mario has, he's going to get murder stomped in speed alone if he can't break the speed equation himself. Thankfully there are two good arguments for this. For starters, Mario scaling to 6D, or sixth dimensional, logically would mean that he's transcended the fourth dimension which is time, granting Mario immeasurable speed by default. There's also a feat to support this, as in Mario RPG, the plumber was able to beat Culex who was the master of time and space and could consume it. Mario would have to have immeasurable speed to defeat Culex. So we have a logic based argument and a feat for immeasurable Mario. It's not a lot but I say we give it to him, cause again, if Mario can't at least hold his own in speed, then Sonic would literally be infinitely faster. Even still, Sonic easily takes speed. He scales much deeper and more solidly into immeasurable.
Power-ups: Perhaps one of the biggest cases of quality vs quantity. Mario has way more power ups, but the vast majority of them aren't going to make much difference. Super Sonic alone counters the bulk of Mario's moveset, and roughly matches the power of the pure hearts. Then there's Super Sonic 2 who could casually toss around the End that his initial super form couldn't damage. Then there's Cyber Sonic, who one shot both Supreme and The End in one fell swoop. If Sonic busts out either of these higher forms, even mixing all his invincibility power-ups at once wouldn't save Mario.
In conclusion, I think the Mario vs Sonic debate is a lot closer than some people give it credit for, but Sonic still manages to take the edge in almost every category, and depending on the statements and feats you accept, you could even argue base Sonic stomps on his own

Miles Morales, Trunks, Vegeta, Sasuke Uchiha, Midoriya, Martian Manhunter, Guts, Kratos, Carnage, Kakashi Hatake, Batman, Wolverine, Hulk, Killua Zoldyck, Link, Jiraiya, Ken Masters, Ben Tennyson, Son Goku, Saitama, Edward Elric, and Green Arrow (just a few) are all far, FAR more popular characters than their opponents who lost their fights whereas Dimitri from Fire Emblem, Static Shock, Sonya Blade, James Bond, Esdeath, Sanji, Hiei, Donkey Kong, Spyro the Dragon, Yang Xiao Long, and Astro Boy are all noticeably less popular or less celebrated than their opponents and they all won their fights against them. Sonic even won the No Holds Barred version of the original, and they admitted that they were intentionally nerfing Sonic in the prologue to make the fight more fair and use only their game versions exclusively, but I see no one bringing that up.

Dude is Hella wrong about comp Mario he is completely pulling that out of his ass, I understand for the extremely wierd versions of Mario that don't fit at all but aside from that the only noticeable version of Mario that splits off is Paper Mario, meaning that every other version of Mario is the same guy. This would include stuff like the Mario party games, the Mario and Luigi Series and possibly Mario RPG. with scaling from Mario Dream Team and Paper Jam you can upscale him so high it's nuts, 1) its very clear that in paper jam both versions of Mario are basically equivalent in terms off stats, so he would easily scale to bare minimum base Paper Mario, but more importantly 2) In Mario and Luigi Dream Team, Bowser uses the dream stone to transform into Dreamy Bowser, a form that pulls all of the power the stone possesses. The dream stone contains within it the dream depo, Wich has an infinitely sized universe for every dreaming individual in Mario's own universe, and the people within those infinitely sized dreams dream themselves and it goes on infinitely, Infinite amounts of infinite dreams that create an infinite number of infinite universes. Mario and Luigi IN BASE take him out pretty easily. This would at the lowest possible lowball make them both 5th dimensional in terms of AP 6th and 7th are also very reasonable, and you can even scale them to infinite dimensional, though I have never seen the scans to prove this, however it seems very possible with how the dream depo functions. In terms of speed beating a 5th dimensional character at a minimum would by technicality make them far faster than anything Sonic has pulled of but that's a boring explanation if you want actual feats. For one if you think using Mario RPG is applicable then in that game you fight basically a stronger time eater in a timeless void wich is already infinite speed.
For more Casual scaling he is also bare minimum FTL+ as he and the rest of the cast are capable of outswimming black holes in Mario Party. (the other black holes Mario didn't swim away from were either game mechanics the same a pit is for super sonic or a black hole that destroyed the universe) The final bit of Mario speed scaling Is from Mario Galaxy and it's more of a reactionary feat than travel speed, worlds, in galaxy at least, it is described that in order to travel to them you move accross space and time to reach them in the launch stars, these would launch Mario at immeasurable speed and he can still react to things flying at him like star bits meteors and the planet surface he is landing on. Which would give him immeasurable reaction speed. With the surprising advantage in speed a lot of Mario's more situational wincons become far more reasonable such as transmutating him with the gold flower and atomising him with the bubble flower. And due to the fact that he is by nature far more versatile than sonic even if you want to say that Mario isn't faster than super or hyper sonic which is very clearly wrong at this point, with how durable Mario is and how far greater number of options in terms of powerups and abilities he has than sonic he could easily outlast his options.
Sorry for my rant this isn't directed at you or anything Nardful if you somehow miraculously read this I just wanted to get what I have to say out there. Because of how popular this guys video is, and the blatant downplay on his end for Mario Its most likely going to get a lot of people saying Mario would get destroyed by only looking at his barely quarter baked explanations. And given how bad the majority of each side of this debate is when it comes to proving their points, it's very blatant I needed to defend Mario in a way that doesn't boil down to "he can be invincible and has powerups" because unironically that is how most Mario fans argue his case and I think it leaves a very sour taste for sonic fans.

These are obvious callbacks to Mario Golf, Tennis, and Party. Paper Mario is considered a sequel to Super Mario RPG, at least in terms of its lore and story. The general plot of Paper Mario is Bowser stealing the Star Rod to grant his own wishes. However, it just so happens that Super Mario RPG is also a game where wishing is its main focus. They both are star related locations (even if the names and place looks different, this is a general thing within Mario however). And they are both where Star-beings live at. If you're still not convinced, I present my final argument. How are the wishes granted? Wishes are described to take shape into a Wish Star, and become little shooting stars. But when you ignore that, it's actually Mario-Kun from the manga. And it should also be known that Time Eater can't be scaled to 11D while Super Dimentio can. "How?" You ask? Well, it's as simple as this. The Overwhere and Underwhere. Think of both of these realms as Heaven and Hell for example. What makes them scale to 11D is two things. Higher planes of existence, and String Theory Soup. And from all the red scans that are shown below, the theory of forms seems to be much more plausable, according to the omniscient narrator of the game which servers as the main game mechanic. And in this, Aristotle agrees with the republic head on, when in real life he was the only one to disagree. So if the republic is true in Mario, then dimentio, due to scaling to the void, he can destroy these forms easily.

Sonic's top speed, if we're mentioning 7 world rings, generations, and forces. there's proof sonic has infinite speed, traveling an infinite distance in a finite amount of time.
in seven world rings he runs in a dimension that's infinite in size in his base form, in generations he not only moves in white space with speed alone but also reverses the erased time effects by accelerating through time, and finally in forces he when he and the custom character are stuck in the nul void they escape it by just running even faster (keep in mind the nulvoid is confirmed to be infinite in size).
I guess the reason why people don't mention these feats or use them is because to them it seems situational, but however they these feats are consistent in those games with forces being the exception because it's shown one time and glossed over.
In generations, tails says that the sonics run so fast they fix space, aka, immeasurable speed.

Mario beat Dreamy bowser who has the power of inf immeasurable dreams aka universes and caught up to bowser who was destroying inf dreams (universes) 1 by 1.
