The team is composed of: Andrew Grant (Ethereal), Finn Eggers & Kim Kåhre (Koivisto), Jay Honnold (Berserk), and Michael Whiteley, and Dietrich Kappe (Dragon). Mark Lefler and Larry Kaufman have been advisors to the project.

Torch started with a rating of 3500 which is a good start! Which means it will only get better with development... and I don't think "it maybe later" for Torch... I think it's a certainly that it will challenge Stockfish for the crown -- whether it can take the crown is another thing altogether. Love what is about to happen over the next installment of what this tech of Torch (and others, plus future versions of Stockfish) will bring in the next two years before another powerful engine on a new paradigm is created with its new technology. We are in for a feast of advanced chess that we have never seen before! Plus, our human games will increase in ability too, as we take the strategies the engines have discovered and apply to our own games. Thank you, Josip... you probably showcase and analysis engine games more than any other commentator. A major factor of why I am here and support the channel.
That sacrifice of the bishop seems so obvious in retrospect. That's the meaning of genius. Thanks for your limpid comments and your humble attitude although no one would doubt your expertise!

The bishop sac idea was a bit “on the cards” but the follow up to regain the piece was incredibly complicated. Winning the endgame was a feat Magnus would be proud of and as you so rightly said most of us would mess it up in real play. Thanks Josip.
Hi Jozarov, love the channel. Was the opening for this game set by the rules of the match, or were the engines on their own from the start? If the opening was set, then in the future, can you mention the point in the game where the engines took over from the set opening?

In CCC first 8 moves are given by the organizers, after move 8 they start playing by themselves
A chess AI thats agressive and tactical has not so high chances to win from Stockfish, as the tactical open games is to well known by Stockfish. Only a more complete engine, that is a fusion of Leela&the Fish. That is good at open games And closed games has a real chance. To beat Stockfish at its own game (king of tactical play) is against the odds.
Yeah. I have also notoced that the Fish is okly losing in closed setups.

Still stuck at "how deep can you calculate" with engines. The fundamental problem is the same, despite efficiency gains in calculation time/hardware/etc. when is "the game is solved" going to happen? 500 years?
