If you have fabric visors use a hairdryer to apply heat and needle nose plyers … start at a corner and work your way across peeling it off , super simple and no chemicals
Before watching this video I tried Goo-Gone / Goof-Off. Big mistake, it loosened the glue that held the vinyl to the sub-structure too. The label sort of rubbed off but left behind quite a bit. Once I tried the 71% isopropyl alcohol it was so easy to take off the other labels and residue. Thank you for the video!
Sometimes lighter fluid, kerosene, race fuels, or other more refined petroleum products leave less oil based residue behind. Also, a fabric cloth leaves no paper fibers behind!
Everything worked as shown for me up until the last step of putting it in the frig to get the wrinkles out. It came out with most of the wrinkles still there to the degree I felt I had to replace the visors. Ouch. However, I put the visors on my workbench and the next day they were fine! Wrinkles were 100% gone. Still working to get the last bit of gas smell off but over all very happy.
Tommy Parky I just don’t like the way they look. If the car wasn’t convertible it would bother me less. I just think it looks so much better without them.
@@bobbygfl Thank-you Bobby, from a named Bobby. I hope I did not offend, as I do not like the “permanent” decals required by Leftist laws. I merely request that these rules from govt. be placed in the owners manual. I mean, do I have to pull my sun-visor down to interpret how to step on a brake pedal. Anyways, good from here in Calgary 🇨🇦👍🇺🇸
I use the gasoline to remove the glue from my badges on the back I figured the smart German engineers figured that people would spill gas on the paint and that the paint would not be affected or the clear by gasoline I was right
Stephen Adonay thanks! All that work and now I’m covering it with leather! Please subscribe for that video. The visors should be back from Exclusive Option this week.
very cool! I just ordered the gauge surround and center speaker chrono dash insert in leather. can't wait! also getting a local shop to cover the two fuse panels in leather. definitely leather addicted!
I wish all UA-cam videos were as thoroughly explained and professional as yours. Thanks and Well Done!!!!

I bought flat black vinyl adhesive @ Michaels, cut it and covered it in 3 minutes
Uncle Fjester that’s a great solution! Thanks for the comment.
I simply used heat and coconut oil along with soapy water to get my vinyl visors perfectly clean from the residue
standj21 that’s amazing. Nothing worked for me other than the gas.
@@bobbygfl Yeah it requires some patience, because you have to wait till the oils break down and loosen the adhesive, but I was very effective.
at 5:33 all you needed was aircraft adhesive remover, then Finito!
john merlino never heard of it. Thanks for the comment

Why not just tape it off and and use semi gloss black spray paint.
Didn’t consider that.

@@rob379lqz not at all! I actually covered them in stitched leather after all that work. Thanks for commenting!
I have real leather. I see nothing really explaining what to do with them. And they are Blue.
No idea. Good luck! I’d have them replaced.
