I love pasta salad. I don't have a particular recipe. I just start out with what ever pasta I have in the pantry, add diced ham or chicken, cucumbers, peppers, onion, tomatoes, zucchini, spices and any type of homemade or store bought salad dressing. Mix it up good and put in fridge to let the flavors blend together.
Loved the video, as always ❤️. You really do a great grocery haul & give ideas on meals too. The Boys are so cute & funny at the grocery store!!! Hope you guys are staying cool in this pre summer heat!! You're such great mom to the boys!!! Very thoughtful. Well, until next time...love ya all
Hey sweet friend. Hope y'all are doing well and staying cool this very hot day here. Lol, big muffins using coffee filters. Fantastic haul and meal plan.
Thanks for sharing. We eat a LOT of main meal salads during the summer around here. Two of our favorites are 7 layer and taco. We also tend to do more sandwiches... especially once we have garden fresh tomatoes available.
Always got to have snacks! I want to watch you make muffins in the coffee filters! Angus got a treat! I try to keep those little packets of gravy and fixings around! Have a great day! 💚🐕🦺🌞
Hi Jess. Great haul! HEB always has some interesting items. Your meal plan sounds really good. I can’t wait to see that ravioli. Tucker was too adorable!🥰🥰 Thanks for sharing.🤗💕
Great haul. Groceries are so ridiculously $$. That was clever thinking on the coffee filters. How were those buffalo chicken ravioli?? Have a great rest of the week and weekend 🤗
I too tend not to be hungry when it is hot. Not only am I not hungry, cooking seems like real work when one is just lazy from the heat. The obvious meals are sandwiches or salads in hot weather, pasta salads and so forth. Here is an unusual one but one I like and that is make a hamburger helper or any type of pasta meal and keep it in the frig and eat it cold. I personally like many such as well cold as I do hot. There is also nothing wrong with your favorite soup served cold (if it has been already cooked). I find it a nice switch AND the flavors I think taste a bit different in hot and cold versions for some reason. Another that used to be an old diner type of meal but I think delicious is serve some chicken, tuna or egg salad or ham salad inside a tomato. OR eat it on cucumbers, radishes, crackers, the list is endless. With cantaloupe, etc., etc. It can be hard to want carbs when hot (which isn't a bad thing). Take a grilled well seasoned formerly cooked COLD chicken breast and eat it like it is along with some melon and fruit. Use a nice cold sauce with it if you want something with it. Put salami or other lunch meats and cheese out with fruit. Put it on ice so the cheese doesn't look all congealed in ten minutes flat. Put a plate on top of a bowl of ice. Those celery sticks, top with some cold bacon on the cream cheese or peanut butter spread on them. Do something similar with slices of cucumber. Some ranch, some dill dip or cream cheese and some bacon or ham... You don't need bread necessarily, just serve them spread with such, etc. Call me weird but something else I do is put things most don't in a refrigerator. I keep my crackers in there and my bread crumbs, etc. I want them fresh, not soggy or greasy from heat. I started doing this while camping. Even things like Oreos or cookies. No they don't get wet. They stay as fresh and crisper, etc. than you'd ever hope. Potato chips. Keeps them from getting that greasy taste. Of course do make sure they are in a sealed container, bag, etc.
Good for you--I too use sausage in an fettucine alfredo kind of dish. I use a hot Cajun andouille one. Chicken is so overrated especially in that dish. I also use a hot ground sausage with a white sauce or sometimes adding cheese to it and Italian seasonings OR I also go a Cajun route but with the seasoning in that one and instead of long noodles, I use mac or shells or rotini, etc I love burger but sausage gives it a new taste and I think is actually better in it. Chicken has its place but for me, using it in most dishes that are one pot kinds of dishes, hot dishes or casseroles, etc., I find it nothing to write home about, hardly a star. The last thing I do is use the sausage also on a homemade white pizza. I add no cheese to that sauce as I cover the pizza with it instead. Either form of sausage is good.
Maybe next year Tucker is going to want a large muffin as his birthday cake using the coffee filters. Lol. Love how clever he is.
😂🙌🏻 That would be fun!
This is a great haul. I love H‑E‑B! The menu plan sounds great. Love your videos like this.
Thanks so much!🩵🩵🩵
Meal plan looks good. The Large “ muffin” was funny. He is so smart to think of that. Thanks for sharing Jess.
😆😁 Thanks, Barb!💜💜💜

@Jess & The Boys you're welcome, friend. I bet. It's hot here, too. I am now. Tucker made my day with his coffee filter muffins. Lol.
Large muffin, aka coffee filters were too funny. Your meal plan sounds so good.

I have eaten a tomato sandwich twice in two days!😋 Homegrown tomatoes are just SO much better than store bought!💜
@@jess_andtheboys Exactly!
We make snack boards/charcuterie boards a lot in the summer for the same reason…it’s too hot, no one is hungry, and I don’t want to cook!
Cold pasta salad with baby shrimp with lots of veggies for hot days.
😋😋😋

Love True Lemon. I used to love drinking Clear American water but someone warned me it had aspartame in it so I quit.
Yes! Aspartame is a no-go for me, too!💜
Nice haul! I’d love a muffin that size! 😂❤
😂 Me too! A big ol' blueberry muffin!😋
@@jess_andtheboys Yes please!
Beef kabobs with southwestern pasta salad and zucchini boats.
Yum!😋
Corn salad 😊😊😊
