3 Quick Gel Plate Techniques + tips | From the Everything Art store

We're about to make your gel plate printing journey a whole lot easier. Our lovely Anneliese is back with some fun, quick and pretty easy techniques which will leave you with plenty of ideas and opportunities. 😄
And as always Anneliese is charming us with her no nonsense attitude and down-to-earth approach to harnessing this art supply.
All you need is:
a gel plate (Anneliese is using Gelli Plate: everything-art.shop/products/...)
a brayer: everything-art.shop/products/...
masking tape: everything-art.shop/products/...
a piece of string
acrylic paints: everything-art.shop/collectio...

If you’re planning to keep making gel prints, buy a Speedball brayer. It will make rolling out an even, thin, smooth coat of paint quick and easy and that’s always what you want to start with. With other brayers, that’s more of a struggle.

“Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold . . . no idea what that means.” Paints are made from chemicals/metals ; so some paint names refer to that, like nickel. It may have gold in it, too, which would explain why it’s so expensive. I don’t know. I think Quinacridone may refer to a chemical - or combination of chemicals - that has undergone a specific process.
