How to scan your dog to 3D print a helmet.

- Some people buy clothes for their dogs, the crazy ones build cosplay outfits for them....
Follow along as I scan our hero with my iphone then model the helmet on my ipad.
After that I 3d print the helmet, post process and then paint.

This is awesome. I am needing something to protect my dogs head. She has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and her skin rips really easily. Something to wear on her head would at least protect that part. Thank for sharing the video.

When drawing the mask, how did you get the opposite side to automatically mirror the side that you were drawing real-time? Is there a setting?

You just have to turn symmetry on. In the symmetry setting you also need to set up which axis you want it to work on and make sure your model is at world 0
Ok now create a full armour
I’m thinking about it. But training the husky to wear it without trying to shake it off may be more work then building the armor 😂

I never put it anywhere because it’s custom made to fit my dog. It actually doesn’t fit him anymore because he out grew it :(
very cool video, definitely needs more views. i would suggest adding more commentary and less music. awesome video otherwise! i just prefer commentary / explanation.
What kind of filament did you use?
This is FUCKEN DOPE! I wish I had a 3D scanner so I can scan my dogs heads. I found helmet stls on cult 3D site and etsy but its hard to measure their heads for the helmet. I never even thought about the 3D scanning idea. Not that it matters much since I don't have a 3D scanner.
You don’t need a scanner, there are apps for your phone. I did the scan in the video if my iPhone.
