The only reason Dan Mallory published the novel under the name A.J. Finn is so that his book would be close to Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl on the bookshelves and he'd receive sales from people thinking he was a woman. I just wanted to get that off of my chest, it's bugged me sense the book was released.
Do screen writers understand the cost of living? What people realistically make for the job descriptions they provide? How is she living in this big ass house? Even with a psychologist salary it seems unrealistic. She has 3 stories and a whole rooftop to herself in what looks like a major city. I use to think I could move to LA and New York after school because movies show millennials living in brownstones on a entry level salary 😒
Nick is so knowledgeable. I love it. I have been wanting to go to Larry edmunds books store for some film books, but nick is going to save me some money.
Someone gave an interesting review on Rotten Tomatoes saying that most of what happened, if not all, was imagined by Amy Adams (Anna). She's taking pills that make her hallucinate, she's drinking heavily, she hasn't been out in 10 months and she's still talking to her dead family. Personally, I think maybe the only real person in her life is her Psychiatrist. I suppose David would have to real as well. But he moved out, imo, after she confronted him. Her Psychiatrist says that she always has to center things around herself. Watching all those old movies while on pills and drunk ? The name Jane Russell kind of clinches it for me. Just my opinion. Her perspective is a bunch of movies all interlaced together.
This film was based on a novel of the same name, and it is 1,000% better than this ABOMINATION of a movie. Practically ALL of the character development, foreshadowing, and many details ESSENTIAL to the story were omitted in this film. I wanted to yell at my television when it ended.
Love this. Also interesting watching an older video from you guys. Your production values are upgraded. it’s amazing how still Joseph can sit - no blinking. I will look for this movie. ✌🏾🎞️🍿 “dum dum test audiences” don’t I know it.
I liked the movie and I was searching for more positive reviews. And you said the words I was looking for "It's a good watch". Maybe it's not the best out there but was fun to watch if you are focused and into it at the moment.
Great video as always. Since Nick mentioned the film, you guys should review bug with Michael Shannon and Ashley Judd. Also, interesting to see Joseph is friends with Kurt Russel. Maybe explain that in a future vid?
The cops did screw up. The should have at least checked blood traces in the room somebody allegedly had been seeen killed. Luminol spray would clear it faster.
This is so off topic but also kinda similar given the titles. Have you both seen “ The Bedroom Window” ? It stars Isabelle huppert. A super cheesy 87 thriller! My mother showed this to me in middle school and I was obsessed! I’d love to see your opinions on it 🖤
Nick with the "Before I tell you about THIS movie, let me reference every movie this reminds me of." Nick is a wealth of knowledge but has a hard time prioritizing what's important to share. Joseph, meanwhile is very succinct to a fault. Opposites attract.
Great review of a movie that’s had a lot of hype. I would watch a video of just eye rolls between you both. The amount of cinematic information that Nick pulls up at any given time is astounding. Going to check this one out. As always thanks for posting. Much love
Saw it tonight. Thought it was very predictable. We guessed the “who did it” from the first 10 minutes in. An “A” caliber cast caught in a mediocre & lousy movie. A “Rear Window” big time rip-off. You guys are GREAT👌BTW-that thing he hit her with was a garden weeder.
I’m glad you guys liked it because I liked it too. I agree, the ending was disappointing and I wish they hadn’t “dumbed it down”. I was really looking forward to it back in early 2020 but then the pandemic hit and sadly it was re-edited and changed from what I hear. Overall, good movie and the performance by Amy was phenomenal and I just love her.
Just watched it. I really enjoyed it. And now, I see you have a review 😀 It _was_ very Hitchcock, it _was_ very Rear Window, there were a ton of other references, but I liked it. Kudos for _Sorry, Wrong Number_ and _Copycat_ 👍 and all the way I _wondered_ why David reminded me of Kurt Russell 🤣
I actually enjoyed the film but I did feel the tone towards the end was all over the place. It literally goes from psychological thriller to complete horror film towards the end.
I loved so much of the vibe of this movie but when it turned into a slasher film for a hot minute I was completely thrown off! It was such an abrupt change in tone! But everything before that was interesting and intriguing and had a great eerie energy to it
That's because they omitted SO MANY VERY IMPORTANT DETAILS from the book! The whole movie doesn't make ANY sense in comparison. I almost couldn't even finish this train wreck of a film.
I love the movie and my favorite part is where Ethan falls through the roof and I was a little surprised Ethan did not grab Anna by the throat. And started to choke her when she pushed him onto the glass roof at the end of the movie?
I’ve been curious about this movie. Love Amy Adams and Julianne Moore. Love all the film references and it seems worth a watch. Love the Joan Crawford shirt too!. (And a “dual-entry doorway system” is called a vestibule. 😉) Love youuuu!
Grace from beyond the trailer made this sound like the worst movie ever lol. The way y’all describe it I think it sounds kinda good. I think I’ll watch it. Sometimes I don’t agree with her reviews at all.
I think the only reason is disliked it because of how much I love girl on the train and it feels like someone swirled it around in a glass with a simple favour and then dropped it on the floor. It's a pretty decent film it's just very on the nose and nothing gets left to the imagination.
Ok. I’ m just going to say it. In my opinion Amy Adams is one of the most overrated actresses around today. I don’t get her appeal. Same goes for Jennifer Lawerence. Don’t get me wrong I like both actresses but getting kinda bored with Amy Adams. I am no hater and plan to watch this. Just had to get that out there.
I'll be honest, I watched this movie mainly because of Amy Adams. I love Amy Adams specially in dark movies like "Nocturnal Animals". It was okay, not great, not outstanding, but okay. Made me wonder if this movie is an allegory of COVID? The symptoms of agoraphobia are essentially how they (whoever "they" are) want us to live our lives during this COVID era, right?
I read this book and was a little disappointed, but I'll still watch to see what y'all thought, and if the movie twists differ from the book ❤.......... that sucks I loved Killer Joe I would have probably watched that!!!
my favorite part in the movie is where Ethan falls through the roof and I was a little surprised Ethan did not grab Anna by the throat. And started to choke her when she pushed him onto the glass roof at the end of the movie
I half watched this movie when my girlfriend was watching and I was doing ketamine. Needless to say it made the movie much more confusing and added to the effects the director wanted to give the viewer. Thanks for clarifying so much for me haha
This movie put me to sleep 💤 this movie was so bad. Main actrice drove me crazy. This movie was just stupid quite honestly thy need to lock up everyone involved 🙄
Dumb dumb dumb movie. Boring and mind numbingly dull. And I'm tired of seeing EVERY A/A man in every movie with a white woman! Sick of this agenda Hollywood is forcing. It doesn't reflect any reality I see. How about less PC and more plot development??🤔
The 10 second close up of Joseph "resting his mind" is gold.
OMG, JOSEPH WITH THE DEAD EYES AT 11:06 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️ You're killing me ! 🤣

i did not know that when i read it!!!
You petty! 😂
WOW? Really. That is like some "run-up-behind-you-and-push-you-in-the-
dirt-2nd-grade-bullshite" of the writer!!
I fell for that.
Y'all are looking quite fetching in this review! 🧑🤝🧑
When you said, "and then passes out" I thought some candy? Lol.

Life insurance
I've just been binging your older reviews for the past hour!
Thank you for this review, I'm very excited to watch this movie!!
"Culminates" twice in one video?! I see you're taking fan demand seriously. 😋
🙌🏾
A great idea for merch... Just saying!!
We should do shots😊
I adore you two. “Over-the-counter wine” lol.
Thank you all for SAVING ME !!

Tracy Letts & Carrie Coon are my underrated power couple. They both are underappreciated & super talented. Another fun review--thanks!

Over the counter boxed wine! A classic. 🤣
Great review, I really appricate it when you tell the whole story first, and then get into everything else after explaining the movie. Thank you!! 😊
I liked the movie and I was searching for more positive reviews. And you said the words I was looking for "It's a good watch". Maybe it's not the best out there but was fun to watch if you are focused and into it at the moment.

'bug' and 'beast' are on amazon prime right now. it might not last long. also 'arrival' is back
You guys are my go-to movie reviews
The cops did screw up. The should have at least checked blood traces in the room somebody allegedly had been seeen killed. Luminol spray would clear it faster.
It's always Joseph's close ups for me 😂😂😂

Nick agrees it’s cheesy fun: www.ioncinema.com/news/disc-reviews/curtis-hanson-the-bedroom-window-review/amp
I just stopped watching this earlier today about 20 minutes in or so...I couldn’t take how inaccurate it was about anxiety disorders.

Honestly i'd give it a 7.5/10, it's a pretty decent film with a great performance from Amy Adams and the cinematography looks gorgeous 😍

I really enjoyed this review ,actually I really the energy you both give ... great channel happy I found you 2❤️
🙏🏽
I love the both of you and how you laugh at yourselves x
Nick love your accuracy

Nick : Fabulous t-shirt
Btw, Gary Oldman looked GOOD GOOD here....he could go either way...Sean Connery (aged fine red wine) or Mickie Rourke (crushed Pabst beer can) 🤣
You met Kurt Russell, is he super handsome in person?
He looks like his pictures lol
@@fishjellyfilmreviews lol ok then

Love the shirts always! Another great review.Just watching Nick’s reactions are gold.
Bug and Killer Joe were fantastic
I actually enjoyed the film but I did feel the tone towards the end was all over the place. It literally goes from psychological thriller to complete horror film towards the end.
I thought this was that spoof movie 😂 I'm glad I kept watching

Ugh, don't bother. If anything, read the novel it is based on!
Oh yeah, this one was weird/good. I don’t remember how it tied up at the end …
Oh, I’ve seen this one. Let’s do this.
Can’t believe no one mentioned both Captain Americas are in this movie
Thanks for the review guys!
Grace from beyond the trailer made this sound like the worst movie ever lol. The way y’all describe it I think it sounds kinda good. I think I’ll watch it. Sometimes I don’t agree with her reviews at all.
HAHAHAAAA best review yet. so informative and funny.
I'm from Brazil and love you guys!
Love your Mommie Dea... I mean Joan Crawford shirt 😉

The movie was actually shot in 2018, and was based on a novel of the same name that was actually good. This movie was an AWFUL adaptation.
Wait you stylist did u go to aveda
Yes and no
Thanks for making this so I don’t have to spend an hour and a half on a movie ❤️❤️
You guys are the best
Y'all are too cute 😏💙
I hated the film. Writing was bad, the directing, music. It was just really unoriginal and lazy.
I read this book and was a little disappointed, but I'll still watch to see what y'all thought, and if the movie twists differ from the book ❤.......... that sucks I loved Killer Joe I would have probably watched that!!!

@Mother Miranda only the story of family on the road was chilling, the rest mehh
really? I will give it zero, the movie was mess
Amy Adams is the chubby side,

No
