They discuss early on that the first tower explosion was a plane (this information is being relayed in the phone call.) They all hear and see the second plane descending steeply over the water, making a slight curve, lining itself up. They verbally comment on it before it hits. (So did several Americans in at least two other videos). Yes, they had several seconds to anticipate it. The French are the people who gave the English language its expressions for being calm under stress and optimistic in adversity - sang-froid and sanguine. The word “equanimity” in English (composure, keeping a balanced mind under difficulty) is also of French origin. These are mature adults who (to judge from their language) have grown up in postwar France, a country with a steady trickle of terrorist incidents in its cities. They put a high cultural value on taking adversity in stride. (Canada got a double dose, from the French and the British.)
Wow, one of the best footage I've seen of the second plane hitting the south tower! I'm also French Canadian. So I got what they were saying, and they were as shocked and in disbelief as everyone else. Une tragédie qu'on devrait jamais oublier. RIP a toutes les victimes.
I lost my friend John in the north tower. He worked at the 105th floor and saddly didnt make it. When i arrived there, the north tower collapsed. Rest in peace my friend and all the people who died that day🙏
My grandfather was in the South Tower, he was above the impact zone and he went down to the impact zone but unfortunately since the tower held for 56 minutes, he was not able to go down.😢😔 Sorry @joyceday115 We are together
I took my niece to the 9/11 memorial and museum a few years ago. She was 5 months old when the attack happened. It was really interesting to see her reaction and answer questions about where I was. I was 17 at the time and watched it all on TV. I'm just under a 3 hour drive to the city.

Ok, folks. There seem to be a few, quite a few instances where the "cameramen" line up the 2nd plane hitting the tower perfectly. As in, it almost seems like they knew it was going to hit. This cameraman seems to be preparing for a shot of the 2nd plane hitting the tower. He just panned out a bit too early. Notice how he says "ok" just before the 2nd plane hits?
To see this angle of the second plane hit at 9:58 is soo heart breaking. It still leaves me speechless! My heart hurts for those on the planes to this day! Just as so unfair to lose your life this way! My heart still hurts for everyone that died Sept 11th!

Im watching October 24. Ive been watching a lot of videos on UA-cam lately. Im 51 and i remember where i was when it came across the TV. I had worked 3rd shift and i was just getting ready to go to bed. Ended up staying up all day. Couldnt stop watching the ground zero searching. Its been on my mind a lot lately.
This angle impact really gives you an idea of how fast that plane really was traveling. It's incredible The fact that plane is flying at twice its normal cruising speed. Then impacting the building. It just doesn't seem real.

What I hear, after the second plane hits, is people screaming in the distance, both before and after the person who is talking in French on the phone in French says, “It’s… It’s the south…”. He means the south tower. The person at the other end has heard the impact but does not know what it is. Europeans had many, many terror attacks in the late 20th century from a variety of terrorists. It’s not surprise, no. The WTC was attacked already in 1993 by Islamists, since Bin Laden had made two or three spectacular attacks on overseas US targets in 98/99, after declaring “war on America”. Why would you be surprised that the reactions of 20th century people raised in post-war France are different from 21st century Americans or Koreans? Europeans certainly have the custom of “black humor” or “gallows humor”, it helped them through two world wars, enemy occupation and several decades of random terror attacks in most major European cities. You don’t even know the context of any laughter, since evidently you speak no French.
Every time you see a puff of smoke and or papers shooting out is a floor collapsing from above. I saw one video I think it was the one with Edna Citrone waving where a window blows out just bellow her and I swear that it’s a person getting pushed out by the air pressure due to the collapsing floor. So so sad.

I'm a millennial and didn't fathom what happened when it happened and then it sort of became a meme... Now that I'm older and I've worked in and live in a high rise building it's more real. I had never been in a city when this happened because I'm from middle of nowhere. I couldn't understand how many people were there and what they went thru trying to escape. Now I've been in similar buildings, not as large, and I've worked in a corporate office setting. Idk it just hits different now and I'm finally seeing the situation for as tragic and horrifying as it was 😨 and maybe I'm mentally preparing myself for something as bad or worse...

This is without a doubt the most horrifying footage I think I've ever seen. Those sounds of the people hitting the concrete and the relative silence of the cameraman and silence surrounding them and omg the plane slamming into the south tower, I've never seen that angle and it looks so small like a toy and sorry for my rambling on. I agree, i see alot videos about WTC but this one is more horrifying for the fact you can hear people jumping down from towers without any alternative for escape 😓.
There is worse footage than this. There's a 5-second clip of a person who jumped, landing on a railing in the plaza. The video is grainy and spliced from two angles but you can see the person falling for a split second then in the second angle you see a burst of pink mist, and hear a very loud PING. There is footage of just the jumpers, some of which are literally filing out of a window one by one like paratroopers. You can see them landing in the plaza below, and some of them can be seen crashing through the concert stage that was in the plaza. There is a video taken from a hotel that was across Greenwich Street overlooking the plaza and you basically see everything I just described in real time. Including the blood-soaked plaza below. Another video shows firefighters forming up along West Street I believe and you just hear the constant impacts of people hitting the ground, including a brief glimpse of the person who hit the railing, it shows some stairs and what looks like a pile of ground beef splattered all around it. There is some awful footage out there, and even worse photos if you look. I'd recommend not to but hey, it's a free country, and if your curiosity ever got the best of you, you could go have a look.

I used to love going on top of the observation tower. I still cannot believe those huge, beautiful buildings are gone. It was the first time I ever saw a Matryoshka Doll which were being sold by a female Russian vendor. I also went for a job interview and didn't get the job.

There is precious few pieces of good footage from the south face of the North Tower but here is one. At 4:30 you can make out the part of the landing gear and wheel that smashed through the core and perimeter wall. The shredded right wing can be seen to the left 3 floors above between the fire and smoke plume. The material was bulldozed there and settled against the windows. Remarkable footage, It is vital we have some footage from the south face as this area was where collapse initiated. Probably the dual effect of sustained fires and temperature against the walls!.

I think that part of what makes this footage unique is that there aren't many shots of the North Tower's south face, or of flight 175's impact looking at it from the south. To my knowledge, there are only four videos in this orientation, and this is one of them

About the first tower that got hit, why there wasnt people on the windows in the angle of this video ? In other videos, we see that a lot of people were standing on the windows of the other side of the building, why was everyone on the other side ?
The side of the north tower (south facing) you see in this video, nearly the whole upper side was engulfed in smoke, as the smoke was shifting southwest. On the upper west and north faces of the north tower, in the windows in which people were hanging out of, the smoke wasn't as heavily concentrated.
in docs it's mentioned that the second building was in a "secure, go back to your office" type situation. i bet many people had no idea what happen in first building when the second plane hit. truly a terrible decision in hindsight but in the moment who knew a second plane was coming

Remember: there was a massive fire suffocating the building next door with smoke, There was a permanent rain of glass, debris and metal around the North Tower, it was raining bodies of people who were throwing themselves into the void out of desperation. According to witnesses, the smoke and even the heat from the North building could be felt in the South tower. AND THERE WAS NEVER AN ORDER TO EVACT THE BUILDING
In a case like that, you have to rely on your gutfeeling, not on others who are giving orders frpm elsewhere. I definitley would have evacuated either building soon as the first plane hit, even thought I might not have known what was going on. You always can go back later, once all is clear. It's safer to get out of burning buildings, specially highrises.

After the collapse they are talking about where to go. They think that staying close to the water is where the smog is gonna clear first thanks to the wind coming from the sea, they also talk about trying to find their friends.

Back when the video starts, they are already discussing the probability of it being an attack. When you are not confused, it is easier to be calm. They’re not kids smoking to look cool, they do it to calm themselves. Unlike Americans, they probably remember the 1993 WTC attack and who was behind that. And they’ll recall that Bin Laden formally declared “war on America”. Unlike Americans, they probably saw and remember the news of 98/99 and two spectacular attacks on Americans overseas. They have a context for what they are seeing. They may not have many local ties, it isn’t their hometown they are watching burn. And they do not have “main character syndrome” like younger people.
They discuss early on that the first tower explosion was a plane (this information is being relayed in the phone call.) They all hear and see the second plane descending steeply over the water, making a slight curve, lining itself up. They verbally comment on it before it hits. (So did several Americans in at least two other videos). Yes, they had several seconds to anticipate it.
The French are the people who gave the English language its expressions for being calm under stress and optimistic in adversity - sang-froid and sanguine. The word “equanimity” in English (composure, keeping a balanced mind under difficulty) is also of French origin.
These are mature adults who (to judge from their language) have grown up in postwar France, a country with a steady trickle of terrorist incidents in its cities. They put a high cultural value on taking adversity in stride.

I took my niece to the 9/11 memorial and museum a few years ago. She was 5 months old when the attack happened. It was really interesting to see her reaction and answer questions about where I was. I was 17 at the time and watched it all on TV. I'm just under a 3 hour drive to the city.

Ok, folks. There seem to be a few, quite a few instances where the "cameramen" line up the 2nd plane hitting the tower perfectly. As in, it almost seems like they knew it was going to hit. This cameraman seems to be preparing for a shot of the 2nd plane hitting the tower. He just panned out a bit too early. Notice how he says "ok" just before the 2nd plane hits?
To see this angle of the second plane hit at 9:58 is soo heart breaking. It still leaves me speechless! My heart hurts for those on the planes to this day! Just as so unfair to lose your life this way! My heart still hurts for everyone that died Sept 11th!

This angle impact really gives you an idea of how fast that plane really was traveling. It's incredible The fact that plane is flying at twice its normal cruising speed. Then impacting the building. It just doesn't seem real.

What I hear, after the second plane hits, is people screaming in the distance, both before and after the person who is talking in French on the phone in French says, “It’s… It’s the south…”. He means the south tower. The person at the other end has heard the impact but does not know what it is.
Europeans had many, many terror attacks in the late 20th century from a variety of terrorists. It’s not surprise, no. The WTC was attacked already in 1993 by Islamists, since Bin Laden had made two or three spectacular attacks on overseas US targets in 98/99, after declaring “war on America”.
Why would you be surprised that the reactions of 20th century people raised in post-war France are different from 21st century Americans or Koreans? Europeans certainly have the custom of “black humor” or “gallows humor”, it helped them through two world wars, enemy occupation and several decades of random terror attacks in most major European cities.
You don’t even know the context of any laughter, since evidently you speak no French.

Every time you see a puff of smoke and or papers shooting out is a floor collapsing from above. I saw one video I think it was the one with Edna Citrone waving where a window blows out just bellow her and I swear that it’s a person getting pushed out by the air pressure due to the collapsing floor. I'm a millennial and didn't fathom what happened when it happened and then it sort of became a meme... Now that I'm older and I've worked in and live in a high rise building it's more real. I had never been in a city when this happened because I'm from middle of nowhere. I couldn't understand how many people were there and what they went thru trying to escape. Now I've been in similar buildings, not as large, and I've worked in a corporate office setting. Idk it just hits different now and I'm finally seeing the situation for as tragic and horrifying as it was 😨 and maybe I'm mentally preparing myself for something as bad or worse...

Professionals are not always right, nor do they always agree with each other. They also have certain blind spots, hence why public commentary and critique is welcomed by the sciences and professions.

This is without a doubt the most horrifying footage I think I've ever seen. Those sounds of the people hitting the concrete and the relative silence of the cameraman and silence surrounding them and omg the plane slamming into the south tower, I've never seen that angle and it looks so small like a toy and sorry for my rambling on. This particular vantage point will keep me awake tonight
I agree, i see alot videos about WTC but this one is more horrifying for the fact you can hear people jumping down from towers without any alternative for escape 😓.
There is worse footage than this. There's a 5-second clip of a person who jumped, landing on a railing in the plaza. The video is grainy and spliced from two angles but you can see the person falling for a split second then in the second angle you see a burst of pink mist, and hear a very loud PING. There is footage of just the jumpers, some of which are literally filing out of a window one by one like paratroopers. You can see them landing in the plaza below, and some of them can be seen crashing through the concert stage that was in the plaza. There is a video taken from a hotel that was across Greenwich Street overlooking the plaza and you basically see everything I just described in real time. Including the blood-soaked plaza below. Another video shows firefighters forming up along West Street I believe and you just hear the constant impacts of people hitting the ground, including a brief glimpse of the person who hit the railing, it shows some stairs and what looks like a pile of ground beef splattered all around it. There is some awful footage out there, and even worse photos if you look. I'd recommend not to but hey, it's a free country, and if your curiosity ever got the best of you, you could go have a look.

There is precious few pieces of good footage from the south face of the North Tower but here is one. At 4:30 you can make out the part of the landing gear and wheel that smashed through the core and perimeter wall. The shredded right wing can be seen to the left 3 floors above between the fire and smoke plume. The material was bulldozed there and settled against the windows. Remarkable footage, It is vital we have some footage from the south face as this area was where collapse initiated. Probably the dual effect of sustained fires and temperature against the walls!.

@@JamesFaye-lt4dv there was debris. Remember they found that plane wing gear in between two buildings? Pretty wild, was like 10 years after the attack.

I think that part of what makes this footage unique is that there aren't many shots of the North Tower's south face, or of flight 175's impact looking at it from the south. To my knowledge, there are only four videos in this orientation, and this is one of them

About the first tower that got hit, why there wasnt people on the windows in the angle of this video ? In other videos, we see that a lot of people were standing on the windows of the other side of the building, why was everyone on the other side ?
The side of the north tower (south facing) you see in this video, nearly the whole upper side was engulfed in smoke, as the smoke was shifting southwest. On the upper west and north faces of the north tower, in the windows in which people were hanging out of, the smoke wasn't as heavily concentrated.
My guess is that if there where people on that side of the building, they probably quickly moved to the other side to avoid the heavy plumes of smoke

It upsets me that building two did not evacuate right away. It's just crazy thinking about this. Why did they not evaluate?
in docs it's mentioned that the second building was in a "secure, go back to your office" type situation. i bet many people had no idea what happen in first building when the second plane hit. truly a terrible decision in hindsight but in the moment who knew a second plane was coming

Remember: there was a massive fire suffocating the building next door with smoke, There was a permanent rain of glass, debris and metal around the North Tower, it was raining bodies of people who were throwing themselves into the void out of desperation. According to witnesses, the smoke and even the heat from the North building could be felt in the South tower. AND THERE WAS NEVER AN ORDER TO EVACT THE BUILDING

In a case like that, you have to rely on your gutfeeling, not on others who are giving orders frpm elsewhere. I definitley would have evacuated either building soon as the first plane hit, even thought I might not have known what was going on. You always can go back later, once all is clear.
