I heard a story, about somebody's aunt. She was never late to work. One day, something happened, and her alarm clock didn't go off as it did every morning and she slept in late. There was a lot of traffic, and so, for the first time ever, she called in sick to work. Hours later, when she was asleep, her sisters were frantically knocking at her door, as she hadn't picked up any calls. When it turned out she was fine and asked why they were knocking at her door, they told her why. And that is how that person's aunt was not inside the building next to the world trade center on 9/11.
This unfortunately brings back all those disturbing images from my birthday on 09-11-2001. I just turned 11 years old and I vividly remember waking up to 2 airplanes flying into both of these buildings. Those poor people stuck due to the lodged airplane all jumping to their death from the top floors still gives me cold shivers. Throwing yourself from those heights is unimaginable. May those who all passed on this day rest in paradise.
I went to the top just around this date for a school trip. There was a candy store right by the observation windows and I took the escalator up to the roof. Was scary and amazing all at the same time. Didn't record anything sadly as my cellphone didn't even have a camera at the time and didn't carry a camera so the memories only live in my head. RIP to all the lost lives.

I will never forget this day. I was a New York City based flight attendant for Delta Airlines at the time. I had just returned to New York the day before, completed a three day rotation. I was at home in FL when the phone rang: my best friend and coworker called me to please turn on the TV: I watched tower 1 in smoke and then witnessed live tower 2 being hit! Those horrific images will forever live in mind. May the souls of all those who tragically lost their lives, rest in heaven 🕊️🤍🙏🏼
I worked on Wall St. and watched them being built. It broke my heart when they collapsed. We lost friends and family. I got sick later that day and was hospitalized my kidneys shut down and my gall bladder stopped functioning, I went to surgery. I guess I was so deeply affected by the collapse my body shut down. Horrible day. RIP and bless all their families.
2:19 To think that the workers the day of 9/11 stared through that window as smoke was engulfing the room and had to decide if jumping would be a more painless way to go... I can't imagine the fear that went through them. Truly breaks my heart. Rest in peace for all those innocent lives lost this day, and thank you, heroes who sacrificed themselves to save people.
My mom was a teacher in New York when it all happened, she and the rest of her colleagues went to the library to watch it unfold live while the students were placed on lockdown (they were far enough from the city to which it was safe to be there but to be on guard) School was canceled after that and everyone got the go home early It was truly a traumatic day for so many people and families
Thank you for making this, and for preserving it, and sharing it with us all. I was up there once, in 1990. Both 107, and the rooftop. Spent a few minutes in Windows on the World. Never to be repeated. On the rooftop, I remember looking DOWN on the Empire State, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Verrazano-Narrows bridge and helicopters going by, far beneath me.

My dad lived in Chicago at the time, and was sent home from work because he worked in one of the tall buildings, and they feared another attack. My dad and mom then went on an airplane to Latvia (a country next to Russia) and saw tons of flowers they were going to send to the Americas. Rest in peace to all those who lost their lives, and I am sorry for everyone who lost someone that fateful day.
I was there back in 1999. I had an eerie feeling going all the way up their elevators. For some reason they felt incredibly unsafe. I remember seeing the amazing view from a bar near the top floor on one of the towers. The bartender was saying something about drinking age in New York being lower with parent supervision or something. Fast forward a couple years when I was sitting in my high school history class. Mr. Denbow rolled a TV in front of us with live video of one of the towers with a smoke plume coming from it. He just said “We were attacked today.” One of my classmates was crying when she heard about the Pentagon since her dad worked there. Classes were cancelled for the rest of the day. Then I had to tell my Dad everything that happened when I got home because for some reason, he hadn’t heard any of the news all day.
@@leonrififi3543 it could've just been a guess, and seeing how there were 2 planes crashing onto the two towers it was obvious it was a terrorist attack, also no professional plane would ever crash onto a city even if they've lost control, most of the time they don't pass through important cities, and even more at that low altitude
@@leonrififi3543 Or maybe the guy is remembering a 21-year-old memory and maybe got some details wrong. You don't mean to tell me that the US government, the slow, inefficient, bureaucratic monstrosity that can't even contract a halfway decent underwear supplier to its military actually succeeded in not only, covertly rigging two MASSIVE skyscrapers to collapse without being noticed by any of the FIFTY FUCKING THOUSAND people who worked there every day, but also managed to keep the THOUSANDS of people involved in such a massive undertaking completely silent and out of sight TO THIS VERY DAY? Not a single person tasked to do the work in the last 21 years has come out, had a slip of the tongue, accidentally said something to a friend at an Applebees happy hour, or had a change of heart and decided to spill the beans? Or is it possible, that that same massive, inefficient, slow, barely coordinated government failed to notice some Saudis skip out on the landing portion of flight school and take advantage of some lax airport security? The likelihood of mere chance is far greater than that of some enormous diabolical scheme. We don't live in a Bond movie.

I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
As a Canadian who was not alive in 2001, I ball my eyes out every time I see videos and pictures of this traumatic event and my heart goes out to all of the lives that were taken. I could never imagine that sure a horrible thing could happen.

I was there and stood on top of the observation deck in the open sky back in July of 1996. I will never forget it. First, if you never saw them in person from the ground you really have no idea how massive they were. TV and film did it no justice. Second, if you never stood on top looking up and out, you will never have any real idea how small you are as a person!. God Bless the victims of 9/11 and their families...and God Bless the heroic fire fighters and police who responded that day and lived to tell about it!

I remember the hot dogs I ate and looking the yellow taxi. I remember my visit to the Statue of Liberty. And Central Park. Most of all, I remember this photo of me at the foot of the World Trade Center tower. I imagined I could see the roof just by looking up. But it was so high, that it seemed to go up the infinity. A one year later, they disappeared before my eyes on TV, and I watched my six-month-old son wondering what world he would grow up in. They attacks in France continued to break my heart. I will never forget September 11th. I returned to New York in 2018 with my son, his brother and his mother, who I am still married to. It was a Christmas present for my sons. This December 25 it was fine, a great sun same like to 2000 during my first trip. I visited the 9/11 monument. My son was walking in front of me and I had tears in my eyes. I saw myself at his age in the same place. Arrived in front of the commemorative plaques, he read the first two names of the victims he had in front of him: Anthony and William. These are the first names of my children. And I continue to cry while writing. Chance is sometimes cruel ...

@Ariyan Adib Why are you watching this on September 11th, 2019?
@@leonrififi3543 Makes sense if you consider the fact that the media claimed one of the towers fell before it even had.

They attacks in France continued to break my heart.

Chance is sometimes cruel ...

what a beautiful comment your story is so beautiful,, I can feel emotions in your words even from so far away, what an exciting story, it must have been so difficult but at the same time so gratifying that you made the trips to NY at different times in your life, first you were a teenager full of dreams together with your sister, then you came back a family man fulfilling dreams of the next generation, I imagine how painful it was for you to witness this in your adolescence but how nice to know your story of persistence, even with the sad accident we will forever take in our hearts those warriors who were present at the time dedicating all their energy and life to improve their lives🙌🙌 I speak here from Brazil, my dream is to know NY the wonderful city, I want to be able to have beautiful stories in the future like this like yours, congratulations
Wow very touching 😢

I just love how back in 2001 you didnt see people whipping out iPhones for a selfie.
They were all taking pics with their disposable cameras and bringing the film to the shop a week later hoping they turned out well.
And that's a time I'd rather live in. Sure, we would have stuff like Hololens or the A380, but I'd prefer living thee and playing a game boy instead of an iPhone on the way home from school any day.
+DoubleBrick Gaming Productions A380 is the least successful plane of this year! How is it good. I think you are confusing it with the Boeing 777-8x
Who said I cared about its success? Or Boeing? I just think it's a nice plane, and apparently that's a bad thing.

It must have been terrifying for all those people, who were up on the higher floors, above where the planes had hit, looking down and knew, they had no chance of surviving this, so their only option was to jump. RIP to all those people, who died. 😔
I thought about this the other day.... Just thinking about the people on the roof when the building collapsed. What that must have felt like and how they were probably crushed or suffocated and had to suffer for awhile before dying. It is extremely terrifying to even imagine.
No one was on the roof, the observation wasn’t open yet and I don’t believe the people working towards the roof were at work yet
@@thorodinson1933 How do you know that?
@@thewildbruce5612 because the observation wasn’t open at the time the first plane hit. Employees were just starting to arrive. And after one plane hits, obviously they didn’t let people go to the top after
@@thorodinson1933 You're wrong about the employees. They had already arrived at work, when the 2 planes hit the towers. And they didn't start to evacuate the South Tower until 1 minute before the second plane hit the tower. And then it was already too late for the people above the floors the planes had hit. They headed towards the roof, because they thought that rescue helicopters would evacuate them on the roof. But the helicopters never came, because of the heavy smoke. And there were about 100-200 people stuck on the upper floors of the North Tower, who jumped from the tower. And probably a lot of people jumped from the South Tower as well.
Today is September 11, 2023. After 22 years, it still feels like it all happened yesterday. Peace for all those who perished on that day. I have never got to see the original towers with my own eyes. Very unfortunate. I was eleven. I visited the Ground Zero in late 2002, only to discover the huge emptiness of it. Hard to believe those towers fell and crushed everything at the very spot I was standing. Someday, I wish to visit there again.

It's very ominous. And foreshadowing, the angles the that are shown and the detail. Not to mention the birds flying by at exactly the right moment and the view from the top where those poor people looked beofre they jumped.

Imagine to fall or jump from 2:20 out of panic from the heat. How truly terrifying
they couldnt see where they were going because of the smoke, their brain was just telling them that that needed to get away from the heat and all of them accidently walked out the broken/open windows
@@scrimshawmassacre some people absolutely jumped out of their own volition though.
@@mylife1221 ik this is a stupid question. did anybody survive that jump?
@@scrimshawmassacre To be honest I think that people knew that there was no way on them making it out alive all the way at the top so I think they’re main thing was rather dying an ‘easier’ way by jumping out then dying a horrible death slowly burning by fire and the heat was already unbearable and unbreathable
