    ALL, and I'm being literal here.... ALL your tutorials/videos are EXCELLENT! Thanks for sharing your talents (free of cost). 'When the student is ready, the teacher appears...' - Lao Tzu.
    There's no specific mosaic art school in Jamaica, I would have to sign up for a 4-year course at our art college... you have saved me tons of tuition fees. I appreciate you both! Thanks soooo much! Blessings!

    Well glue shows thru clear stained glass pieces. I spread it as thin as I could and i was told to use e61000 .

      @MakeitMosaics  Місяць тому

      e60000 is an industrial adhesive, cures clearish - few adhesives cure 100%clear. You will almost always see the substrate. A trick is to use metallic tape on the back of your clear stained glass - creates kind of a mirror effect, but only ok for indoors. Then you can use WeldBond or other PVA glue. For the exterior, I use a white thin-set, which has 100% coverage between the glass and the substrate, and simply reads white.

    Just wondering how YOU avoid bubbles under transparent pieces....a constant headache .

    • @MakeitMosaics
      @MakeitMosaics  Рік тому +1

      Sorry, your question slipped through the cracks. The best way to avoid bubbles is to be very generous with adhesive, so much so it seeps out the side, and you clean that up. True for PVA (Weldbond) or silicone - the 2 most common adhesives for glass. And be clear, with little tesserae, silicone is tricky; I try to stay with opaque stained glass vs transparent. Another trick is to put silver tape on the back of the transparent glass (again, tricky if tiny pieces); this makes the stained glass like a mirror. I can get the silver tape at stained glass stores. PS in the Tempered Glass video on the channel I show an example of using silicone in abundance to achieve bubble free. Good luck!

    1. if using PVA glue fully "seat" the glass (cover entire piece of glass with glue then "wiggle it" in place to work out bubbles 2. sometimes I use clear silicone, same process 3. if exterior use white thin-set, no bubbles but again fully cover back of glass with the adhesive. Good luck. it's a battle.
