You don't peel off anything from the friut bars. You eat it all. It's not paper :)))))
What is that? I live in Slovakia but Ive never seen this kind of bar. I also thought it was some sort of paper :D
Inside you got partialy dried fruits and raisins. The "paper like" sheets are eatable also. It's a very thin and soft wafer :D They're there to prevent the bar from breaking apart. I eat those from my MRE last weekend. I'm still alive ;)
Ever been to the church ? Its same what they give you . Also I remember growing up in Hungary we had those in a pack of 10 that you could of buy at the pharmacy . They use it to put medicine in for kids
Correct.
Everyday Products They have holy bread from church on the bar
The "Big raisins" are dried plums ;)
Arkadiusz Woźniak Thanks :-)
"Dried apricots" Dried apples
Good ration, greetings from Poland. :)
Kamil Piotr Thanks, and hello from New Zealand!
the color of the dried fruit is because it is organic. Only when you add sulfite to dry fruits do they stay vibrant in color. No sulfites equals organic. not pretty but good to eat
I never knew that - great info. You learn something new everyday. Thanks.:)
Benitha Bonthuys Anytime :-)
Elizabeth Shaw Thank you for the info Polish comrade
XxSLENDER2004 Slender you are most welcome comrade :-)
I wish you and your cat a happy Easter
I can't watch him peel that bar...
Siddich I definitely won't be peeling the next one :-) As strange as it might seem, we don't have bars coated like that here.
really? its really nice, that you dont get sticky fingers, when you eat them with your hands...
and lots of sugar for energy ;-)
Siddich Absolutely, it makes perfect sense. I'm surprised it's not common over here too.
Kiwi Dude
It's rice paper, in the UK, you used to get fake money made out of sweetened rice paper for kids to eat.
@@KiwiDudeMRE where did you go ?
This "paper" is simply water and flour so that bar wont dryed so fast. Its 100% eateble;)
kosi MAZAKi Thanks, I'll know better for next time ;-)
Kiwi Dude here in germany that paper stuff is very common you can buy "edible paper" in stores, it's pretty much the same, rice flour or starch or something with water as the guy before me said :) usually they are coloured or printed like fake dollar bill designs on them for the kids. You also get them as "Back Oblaten" for baking (you put a blob of coconut dough mixture on it and bake it)
***** Thanks for clarifying. I felt a bit silly for peeling it off. That edible money sounds like fun!
Kiwi Dude
best EVER
Pour boiled water on those extra-dry fruits (apples, apricots, prunes, and so on) and wait one minute... You'll see. Cheers.
"PANZERCRACKERS" :) Polacy to wiedzą :)
18:45 is a dry plum :) Dried fruit are for you to chew them all the time when you walk or march so you will not get a sore/dry throat :)
+Pawel K Looks like you could pour in hot water and make kompot.
Jim Fortune yup looks that way. I prefer them in a dark chocolate :)_
Polish ration looks very good.
Totally addicted to watching your videos! Thank you and keep up the good work. It's so interesting to see these unboxed, cooked and sampled!
Still watching these in 2016! Cheers from Chicago!
Na samym końcu twoja córka mnie rozbawiła. Cieszę się, że jej smakowało. Thumb up!
Cheers mate, love Your videos. :):)
YgoR Haha, oops. Glad you're enjoying the vids though :-)
Hehehehe :D
+TaRcZa202 xD
I love your reviews and I really appreciate that you respond to as many comments as you can. It makes people feel involved. Great vid, Cheers!
***** Thanks Jason. I try to get to as many comments as I can. It was a lot easier in the old days! Lol.
Its really funny to hear someone who is trying to say something in Polish :D
Like "wojskowa" or "herbacianego" :D I know - Polish is hard.
I like this video, i didnt know what soldiers of my country are eating. Until now :D
OkrutnyBorsuk Thanks, I hope I didn't butcher the Polish pronunciation too much :-) Glad you enjoyed the video.
Kiwi Dude
Nah, you did very well. :) Better than most.
Krzysztof Dąbrowski Cheers!
this man has never seen a prune before. 18:40
+1G3001 i like prunes and vegemite. and marmite.
It looked more like a dried date than a prune
+Boston Gary I don't think dates have almond shaped stones in the middle like plums/prunes do, it's definitely prunes :)
Wykop pozdrawia!
Hey kiwi you my friend have another sub because u always
Provide full insight to what your doing and some of the jokes and everything else you do to make the video seem more fun I always look forward to the videos you put out
Really I am pleased I stumbled upon your channel. Love that its not just MREs and you show rations from all over the place. You're doing a great job! Keep it up. From one father to another my warmest regards Phil.
Thanks Phil, I really appreciate the warm comments. I've checked out a couple of your vids too, and even though I don't smoke anymore, I found it really interesting seeing the pipes and your own reviews etc..
That "paper" on fruit bar is just flour+water coating....nothing harmfull, just keep your finger clean :)
***** I'll know better for next time ;-)
You eat that white coating on a candybar. It's not that common in Poland but I ate a lot of Spanish candybars with it. Those dried fruits are apple chips and plums.
I like your stuff so much and always getting hungry seeing these videos :)
greetings from a pole living in germany!
Hey Kiwi Dude.
Thank you for all of your great work. You never fail to deliver awesome videos.
Finally I can die happy... I have now seen both famous moments of yours. Peeling off the rice paper coating & burning the chopping board. LOL
A lot of confections :) We Poles love our sweets!!
Yes it's really good.
I ma from Poland
Wojtek Szumlański Congratulations!!
Tak
Cześć :D Really nice review, love all yours films!
Greeting from Poland ofc ^.^
Robinskateboard Thank you. Glad you're enjoying the videos. Greetings from New Zealand!
Awesome video, it was very enjoyable to watch :), and congrats to you for having time to answering a lot of commentaries, that's really nice. Greetings from Poland kiwi dude :D
TaVeZ Greetings from New Zealand. Great to see so many Polish viewers. It was a tasty ration :-)
SPECJALNE SUCHARY XD to mnie rozwaliło xD
Great Video dude ! :D
dried fruits are given to make some kind of drink with boiling water (in polish it is called kompot (compote) ).
+FilipEffatha I'm looking forward to trying that with the next Polish ration :-)
+FilipEffatha I personally better like to eat them by itself
+FilipEffatha No, they are not. They are eaten dry - straight from the bag. They are added to the rations because of high fiber content which is healthy for digestion. Ration food is condensated and lack of fiber which can lead to constipation.
It is true that there is compote made from dried fruit (mostly apples and plums), but it is traditional for Easter in Poland, and is is made by long cooking (so not very ration-friendly way to prepare) the fruit (just like soup) with added sugar and served mostly cold.
+takitam You also make it with fresh fruit. I prefer fresh to dried imo
Eating a ration from 1975? No problem!
Edible paper on a fruit bar? Better scrape it off!
lol
its not paper guys, its sweet and good :D
this is not a paper, this is flour dissolved in just a water, baked, a wafer, pretty much same as on you eat during christian communion ritual, it's there for texture and to keep Your fingers non sticky, cheers.
😂😂😂
It was not rice paper, it was oblate.
Jazz that's oblique...
Great video as always :)
Nicevideo Mate, I like how you show the different Armies ration packs
Christian Marzec Thank you.
There's a reason you got more 'likes' compared to other MRE review site ... it's your pleasant tone of voice and your always positive attitude and your humor .. thanks for the video
+Buntalan Lucu Thank you for the kind words. Glad you're enjoying the videos.
this "paper" is a rice paper
kofik - candy with caffeine
dry friuts - apples and plum with stone
When I stumbled upon this channel I was glad I didn't just scroll down. It was really pleasant when I saw a vid of yours. Thumbs up!
Endersnivy Elham Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it, welcome to the channel.
Me too
mareizaga71 Welcome to the channel!
Hey great review! I thought it was a bit long at first but once I begun watching, it got me really interested. Loved the ending review by your daughter too! She is really adorable. Greetings from Poland.
Browaski Hello from New Zealand. Glad you enjoyed the vid :-)
Awesome, I subbed and liked. I would like to see you taste some other Polish rations just to see what else there is to expect but to also see if the food is similar to what normal Polish food is, and the that package certainly look's good, thank you for your content. Greetings from Poland :)
AtlanticBeast Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. I'd love to try another Polish ration some day.
this white coating wasnt paper :) it was pressed piece of bread. dried and little moisted aterwards makes it behave a little like a paper. being stright its a wafer :)
Iwan2007 If I have the privilege of trying another Polish ration, the 'paper' will be getting eaten. I feel silly for peeling it off ;-)
Kiwi Dude You've mentioned that this paper should probably be eaten :) I never suspected that I will be watching army food rations for a such a long time and find it actually interesting. Nice work. And really nice daughter testing flavours :) All best from Poland
Marcin Czapczyk Thank you. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. Greetings from New Zealand :-)
I just found your channel. You have a new subscriber man. Thanks for interesting videos.
***** Welcome to the channel!
Another good review. Thanks and keep it up :)
Thanks very much :)
It looks pretty small and compact but it packs a lot of stuff. The utensils are really nice. Thanks for sharing mate, take care!!!
It was the 'Tardis' of ration packages! A masterpiece of packing. Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers.
Great review! Very informative for those of us who have not had the fortune to try these out in person. That being said, your daughter is absolutely the gem of the video. :) Absolutely a doll! :) From one father to another.
Brandon Ramos Thank you for the kind words. Lol.. I must admit it's a weird 'Father & Daughter' hobby, but we love it. I look forward to the future when we can both look back on these videos and reminisce, but between now and then - many more videos to come ;-)
Kiwi Dude I love it! I spend the same time with my kids! My daughter wanted a B.O.B. for her birthday! lol ;) Besides, the only bad Father-Daughter hobby is not to have one! :)
Brandon Ramos Very true! :-)
Yeah, your daughter is very cool :) ...I skipped few min of your video but I saw her... she is superb :D ...soldier of the world ;] ...some kind of food beta tester :)
ProjektyCAD Thanks. We both look forward to our review days very much. She's loved rations since her first taste.
Love your videos!
That was hilarious man! Thank you so much for doing it, I had so much fun watching :)
Andrzej Witowiak Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Polish Army is a good Army.
Jacopt Górecki one of the brat if you look at the GROM special force
The white stuff on the bar is rice paper its commonly used to stop stuff sticking. Also us Polish men are men we don't need milk in our coffee.
+Ralphgtx280 p.s. no way those dried fruit are apricot , looks like apple
Kiwi Doode!!! ;) Love the reviews. You and Gundog and Steve1989 inspired me to enter the world of rations, I just bought my first case of MREs!!! US Military, Menu B, from 2014, expiration date of 2017 June.
Anyway, yeah, I think the 'wrapper' on the fruit bars is sugared, so it is safe to eat, and I haven't made it through the whole vid yet, but I think you'll like that Kofik sweet. Cheers from Wisconsin!!!
Holy shit, you actually pulled out pretty decent "cześć" at the beginning. Good job. :D
those black friuts are dried plums...
nice vids you make and greetings from Balkan :)
Greetings from New Zealand :-)
That ''paper'' on candy bar is supposed to prevent your fingers from getting sticky.
Awesome review as always!!!
Cheers mate!
Cheers!!
This video has just reached 60 k views. Well deserved!
kungfupanda8282 Thank you. I can't believe it's getting so many views! Amazing.
Polish eat magic mushrooms before the battle and after battle awesome!
***** Lol!
Hi Rebecca, sorry, I can't reply directly to your comment for some reason, but she's pretty adventurous with her food. So far, the only ration item she hasn't liked was the Cherry Cobbler dessert from the Beef Roast with Vegetables MRE. I thought it was delicious!
If you have the problem again you can write an @ followed by the name and +Google should do the search for you and the person would be able to be tagged
Racksor Thank you.
To nie był papier tylko taki fafelek ryżowy , ale cieszę się że nagrałeś film o naszych polskich racjach :)
***** Dziękuję. Bardzo podobał mi się ten posiłek.
Kiwi Dude mi też przyjacielu
Great review! Hello from Poland! :) :D
***** Hi there, greetings from New Zealand!
Thank you for that you make review of Polish ration.Greetings from Poland
EATQs World You are very welcome, and greetings from New Zealand!
HI Erika, I couldn't reply directly to your comment for some reason, but thank you, and yes - her Mum is originally from China :-)
If I would apply my countries Prejudices than Its logical that her mother is chinese, because according to prejudice in my country, the asian and especially the chinese eat everything like it - and I am the one who is interested i different cultures and different perceptions and different prejudices
Pancer Wafel
Kiwi Dude Polish soldiers calling it a "Panzer Waffle" :) and its taste comes from cumin spice. Greetings !
JAJKO PAWIANA You could almost build bunkers with them ;-)
TheCrowSpy
Soldiers duty is to kill humans.
What the point is to make food rations for guys who are against to kill... even animals?
on that fruit bar seems to be rice paper which is edible
strocat25 It was, and I feel silly for taking so much time to peel it! :-)
***** Lol... I felt rather silly after spending so much time peeling! ;-)
Kiwi Dude I think it was communion wafer but it was fun to watch. Made my wife smile :-)
Kiwi Dude I laughed when I saw you tried to take it off :D this made my day . Greetings from Poland :)
DantjeBtmPl It was so tedious, I should have realized earlier ;-)
Greetings from Poland Kiwi Dude ; ) Awesome video
Artur Cierpicki Greetings from New Zealand! Glad you enjoyed it :-)
hey, loved your starwars reference ! was right on the mark!
I think the paper stuff on the bar is rice paper, like a super thin wafer sort of edible paper!
Hi, Kiwi Dude. Nice vid, voted :)
Greetings from Poland & na zdrowie!
+Sławomir Krajewski Greetings from New Zealand!
+Kiwi Dude
:)
Oh man, you are so blessed. The Boss has to be one of the most adorable little kids I've ever seen. It's so cool that she's willing to try all of these foods, as most kids these days would turn their nose up at it.
You're raising that one right, keep up the fantastic work.
Nicholas Ucci Thanks. We have a ball making these videos :-)
Subscribed. Greetings from Poland ;)
pietrek1602 Cześć! Greetings from New Zealand, and welcome to the channel.
Im polish its so cool to know what everything means
Hello from Vancouver!
Polish soldiers must be very civilized, that is one of the nicest packs I have seen. The small luxury of a knife and fork and plenty of serviettes makes all the difference.
Perhaps the dried fruit is meant to be reconstituted with water? They look dehydrated to me.
Hog jowl is vastly underrated, it is very well-marbled meat, tender and full of flavour, and ideal on the barbecue.
Hi there! It was a very nice touch to see the cutlery and all the other 'trimmings'. The meat just melted in the mouth too. Interesting thoughts on the fruit, I wish I'd kept some to try reconstituting. Next time :)
"Hog jowl is vastly underrated, it is very well-marbled meat, tender and full of flavour, and ideal on the barbecue."
Every time we have freshly-cooked beans, we use it to season them. I always "call dibs" on the jowls. I make sandwiches out of 'em, with lots of hot sauce ^_^ .
Yet i see fatal chances on those rations giving us upper hand over russians in world war 3. I might be pesimistic , but what we hear in Poland is preety much some kind of stuff pepole before me heard month before WWII
Nice review. Greetings from Poland.
pedrowwy Hello and thanks. It was an interesting ration.
Hey, nice video, never thought that army food rations can be interesting but you surely present them in such way it is a pleasure to watch. You've got a sub from me and I am looking forward to more of your videos. I don't remember last time I watched almost 30 minutes youtube video ;) Greetings from Poland!
piortus Greetings from New Zealand, and welcome to the channel! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Tasty one, specially for me, liking a lot pork meat... really made me hungry! and really is a lot of food for that little MRE bag. A++!
Hi Manoel, yes - this was a treat for pork lovers :) Amazing how much was packed into that bag!
Polish food at it's best, got to feed those soldiers well mate!:)
White paper coating on a bar is sugar with rice I believe, keeps it together and it edible of course. Would love to get hold of one of these on a trips.
Great review, first time seeing these online. Really enjoyed your daughter comments, she seemed to fall in love with that food!
I could only suggest, as a Polish fella living in UK that you should definitely try some Polish sausages on a barbecue and perhaps dumplings with wild mushrooms and cabbage! Pure joy;)
Adam Ore Cheers. I believe a subscriber is sending in some more Polish rations for review, so there should be a chance for me to 'right the wrongs' and not peel the bar ;-) I'll keep a look out for Polish sausages too.
I'm from poland. that's right. Polish food is the best :)
Nice review, helped me alot. :D
Glad you enjoyed it.
I always liked that kind of tea as a kid.
I'm pretty sure the reason why the dried fruits look like that is because they lack sulphur which is used in most commercial dried fruits to retain colour because it affects the shelf life.
Thanks for that. They did seem prepared for long life as opposed to looks. It was a surprise seeing the stones in there too!
Hello Kiwi Dude
That white thing on the bar is not sulphur!
It's a wheat based thin wafer and you eat it normaly.
The dried fruit are fruit chips,if you want you can make kompot by adding it in to hot water and boiling it for a moment .
There is no creamer because a lot of people in Poland drink their coffee black with no creamer.
Good to hear that you enjoy the Polish combat ration.
Guziec1989 Cheers. I was almost 100% sure that the coating was supposed to be there. Great to hear it was edible :)
My fenciee is Ukrainian and dries fruit and veggies in a similar way to the Polish food rations she often dose this in the fall in preparation for the winter. My Great Grandfather was an old school Ukrainian Cossack he also used to dry fruit's and veggies as well he also used to pickle a lot of meats and veggies too.
Burntshmallow Like you know my country. Assuming that you think that I'm Polish, I'm also Finnish and Asian
Burntshmallow Still trying (but failing) to be hard
Finns came about when A swede fucked a Russian in the ass!
onrr1726 Atleast I am pure breed, unlike you. You filthy fuck
TheCrimsonKnight ah so your in inbreed coming from an incest family!
I just saw this on a Polish site - I'm not military or even interested, but I watched the whole video and it was awesome! All the best from the UK
DRygielski Gidday from New Zealand, glad you enjoyed the video.
Big thumbs up and subscription for the Star Wars reference. Oh and Steve1989 said you're pretty cool too
I was screaming when You destroyed the Fruit bar :(
I know that it looks a little bit like a paper. Eat it whole, The white thing is like a Wafer it dissolves in Your mouth without any harm. I am addicted to them. My friend is addicted to the hard crackers :) the wierd flavor of them is up to cumin inside them. I have also the newest Polish MRE's (for spec-ops kinda) with chemical heater, like in USA MRE and different mix of dry fruits (more of the strawberries and black berries that you can 'refresh' with water)
Very good review!
Edit: The new Polish rations: SR (S is for older ones)
Whole name is:
Indywidualna Racja Żywnościowa "SR" - Individual Food Ration 'SR'
The whole package is a 1 liter.
Producent is: P.P.H. Musli Klex sp.z.o.o. 25-217 Kielce city, Hauke Bosaka 10 street, Poland
it looks like this:
wmasg.pl/var/images/community_gallery/12014/228103/main.jpeg
Also: Buy Your little girl a pet and name it Kofik :D
swirekster Thanks very much, and yes - I feel silly for peeling the 'paper' off :-) I really enjoyed this ration.
swirekster Lol... she already has a pet cat called 'skanky' but that's a story for another time ;-)
"Stone in a fruit"
Dude, that's a dried plum. :P
You said "cześć" like a pro. Well done sir, well done! :)
MikFrey Thanks. There were many off-camera practices ;-)
Czesc Kiwi!
Kto z Polski?
ja
+Michalbr takomowiec on
+Adnan Lemonis Ja, ja, jest śląsk.
+Qiulix ja
+Qiulix ej ja
dude we have those in Australia it wasn't paper
also are you sure the dickis had vitamin C in them and not vitamin D?
The C was accented on the wrapper, I think they were vitamin C.
I love your videos, in special, when you try to enciffer the strange languages on the several packs in the different national MRE's. Thank you for your actions and comments. (Pardon, my english is very bad indeed, I have forgotten so much things since my school time. Icome from Bremen/Germany).
Matthias Feilke Thanks. Your English is good :-)
Awesome brotha, thanks for all of the great videos. Just showed one to my lady friend and she also loved it. I am getting a box of MRE's for my self for my birthday on the 12 of next month and I cannot wait. Cheers buddy
Wow! Nice one Kev, a whole case of MREs, that'll keep you busy. That lady friend sounds like a keeper!
Kiwi Dude wish i could get foreign Mre's easily in the states i would love to taste them ive had all of ours.
The French RCIR is easily attainable for reasonable prices on eBay, but it really depends on how bad you want it. Considering it's a 24hr ration, you could justify eating nothing but the RCIR for a day. You might even break even ;--)
Kiwi Dude the french ration was going to cost me $70 bucks with tax on ebay im not going to pay what i could pay to get a case of 6 of our mre's for one meal.
Strategic Alliance Of Gamers Fair call, I couldn't turn down a case either, even if the RCIR is good ;-)
Yet another one missed :(
When I didn't have my computer for 4/5 months I didn't go back far enough in your videos when I finally got a new one a few months ago.
LOL..... I was shaking my head when you were taking the edible paper off the bar.
The meal does look good especially the entree :)
***** Hi Leanne, glad you're catching up on the oldies here. I was 99% sure that coating was edible, but 1% was telling me "No, it's part of the packaging". I hope to try another Polish ration to 'right the wrongs' ;-)
YOU LEAVE THAT ON WHAT ARE YOU DOING
I love your videos so much
Marina Sanchez Cheers, glad you're enjoying them.
I love how European MRE's often come in cans. It's a nice change of pace to all the plastic we're faced with in the US, and a nostalgic throwback to the days of C-rations, and K-rations. Thanks for another awesome video, KD. XD I've never seen the boss so enthused over a main entree. Go Poland! XD
If this was good, you must taste fresh polish food.
Krzysztof Malinski I hope to visit Poland some day. I've heard great things.
Kiwi Dude Tell me, what have you heard and I will confirm or deny :D
Krzysztof Malinski Haha, I've had a couple of Polish friends over the years. We had many drinks, but as they were lads - I never got a meal out of them. I can only say the food was talked of highly :-)
Kiwi Dude Ok, so there is no other way - just go visit Poland ! :D
Krzysztof Malinski As it is written, so it shall be :-)
Ja to jestem z polski i ta racje jadlem juz dwa razy na imprezach asg kolegami na ostatni dzien urzadzilismy survival
This looks really good!
Phishstaebchen It sure was!
Hey, really nice video chanced upon - subscribed!

PanZurekWielki->Pan=Mr(in Polish) ; Żurek( fermented rye or wheat, or sourdough, are used to make soups. In Poland, rye is traditional, making żur or żurek) ; Wielki=Big(in Polish)... But hey he can be a muslim we have muslim comunity and we living with them in peace for hundered years, we even took them with us to Viena to stop muslim Ottoman empire(12 September 1683)... To much propaganda from mainstream media? What religion group is profiting out of that Christian vs. Muslims war? Think!
I like watching people that is trying to say or read in Polish :D
Piżamka I tend to make a hash out of any foreign language attempts. If I can scrape by without offending anybody, job done ;-)
Reminds me of a joke, 'What does a woman get when she marries a Polish man that is long and hard?' 'A last name.'
cddll24 Lol!
Cześć! You've got such interesting videos. Regards from Poland :)
Kamila Filipczuk Thank you. Greetings from New Zealand!
That's cool I can read the package because I was born in Poland and lived there for the first ten years of my life
Those dried fruits were dried but ol' good slavic traditions.
on the fruit n bar is a starch paper to keep it together during hot conditions. it's edible.
+Skeptic Spartan I feel like a prize fool for peeling it off. Will be eating it next time :-)
No worries, like you said live and learn.
When he was looking at the cutlery did anyone else get a bit of a chuckle and say to themselves " 'At's not a knife........'is......'is is a knife!"
It was funny to hear you read all the names haha
