I’m going with a male friend, will probs get the public onsen to ourself cus all the couples are queueing for the private onsens

The public onsen was pretty good! It was my first time going to a public onsen so I was nervous, but it was a good experience nonetheless. We went to the public onsens before queueing for the private onsens. Hope you have a good trip!
