- This time we look at the Transformers Legacy United Gears. Admittedly, he is too small as minibots aren't really deluxe value. BUT, that said, this gears is quite terrific. It is largely animation accurate. The head movement is especially unexpected. The conversion is intuitive yet very unique and clever, what with the entire body unfurling. Excellent review as always Gotbot! This lad is going on my 'to-get' list for sure, as it is my ultimate personal goal to collect one of each of the original Autobot cast from the G1 show through the movie, in a to-scale, mostly screen-accurate form. Outside of one-offs of sculpts or characters I enjoy, that is my end goal and it will mark the moment I mostly check out of the hobby.
And getting nice, properly scaled and mostly accurate figures of guys like Gears and Beachcomber and Huffer is a win for me and a win for everyone who wants them.

Huh, that underside blaster storage for the truck mode is clever, never would have thought of it myself. I don't particularly mind just sticking it upside-down into the side of the truck bed (there's been far more obtrusive weapon storage on other figures) but it's nice having an option for total concealment.
And yeah, that chest plate on the back of the truck is ugly, but that's about my only real complaint with this guy.

I have one of these coming this week. I’m really excited. The articulation seems top notch, and that’s a big thing for me.
Excellent articulation, better than I anticipated.
Never was able to get the legends one though I did get the swerve version. And I really like this gears he goes in perfectly with my autobot shelf
He's really, quite very good.
My gf brought it home yesterday, haven't gotten to opening it yet. But he looks great!

I might add him for my G1 main cast. It consists of Optimus (obviously), Glyph (custom), My OC Hyperion (custom), Gears, Sunstreaker, Sandstorm, and finally Ratchet. And I found Magneous finally. Didn’t get him though.

neat easter egg on gears on the back of gears head he has molded in detail of a ( M ) like the hood of the g1 toy standing for the Micro Change line where the orignal gears toy came from all of the bots from that line had a molded (M) on them on the g1 toy it was on the hood on this one its on the back of his head . he is a good figuer i think and love the easter eggs the other being his chest opening ... keep up the good work
The M is not for Micto change. It is actually for the Mysterians, look'em up, might see a few other familiar bots.

Yeah, a few things I never expected, like the level of head articulation
The Deluxe figures from line have been pretty good, hope they can keep it up.
