This is why Dark Souls' lore is so beautiful and immersive: by not explaining everything it enables you to fill the gaps as you please, and that leads to very talented and creative people giving us masterfully made stories like this one.
Yes and no, there are a few things in this video that is inconsistent with the lore.
@@a_angry_bunny The lore can and has contradicted itself many times, specially if we take into account all three games. In some occasions the excuse is that time in the Souls universe can go in many directions and realities collide frequently, thus i consider this comics to be accurate enough, as it respects the basics of the original lore while making a few changes, just like Dark Souls 3 and 2 did when they came out.
Obviously it isn't official, but it's entertaining and quite satisfying to enjoy this stories from a different perspective that compliments the one presented in the games
@@addictedtochocolate920 also isn't the timelines in dark souls convoluted as hell? considering that every players' playthrough is canon? (exhibited by the Soul of Cinder being the memory of everyone who has kindled the fire) thus giving credence that alot of things could diverge in the timelines and give us infinite possibilites?

So Sif was sort of a mentor figure to Artorias and gave her life saving him; then he named his wolf after her and gave his life for him when fighting the abyss. I admire how well the author was able to connect both stories.

I like how Artotius is wearing Silver Knight Armor in this, because in DS1, Artorius's Gauntlets and Greaves were reskinned Silver Knight pieces.
The story of the wolf Sif as given in this video is SO realistic and convincing.
Well, you are a voice acting legend, and I adore your videos. I will always support you, and may you grow to become one of the best VA channels ever.
P.S - I was amazed to find out that you alone voiced both Artorias and Hawkeye Gough (Damn, I'm impressed!)
This makes the Sif fight even sadder to me than before if that’s even possible. Great work.
And then comes a naked man wearing nothing but a loincloth and wielding a giant mace with exceptional mastery of the dark art of rolling smashes him to nothing but paste and forge a sword from his soul just for cosplay.

The fact Artorias is using only his left arm to attack and hold weapons it's a very cool attention to details and I do love that
TBH, I always thought that Artorias only fought you left handed because his right was broken and he was thus unable to use the sword normally, which would mean that during the boss fight you aren't even fighting him vaguely near full strength.
@@Drengade that is why, artorias blocked a full force attack from Manus with his greatshield to save Sif and it broke his arm

from what i know this comic is not lore accurate. for instance, the sword was gifted to artorias to fight off the darkwraiths.
sif was always a wolf in official souls lore.
@@cancermancer692 to be fair I think this is where he gets a sword originally because he had to get his own sword cursed hence why there's two unbroken versions of The sword in dark Souls 1
maybe, but there is still absolutely no evidence that he pulled a sword out of the stone like king arthur of camelot. souls lore is vague like that. i guess if you want to fill in the unknown parts of the lore with this it might work in some spots. For instance, the parts with havel and ledo are most likely canon. wolf blood is definitely important in souls lore because of the abyss watcher lore. and artorias probably was a silver knight before becoming one of gwyns four knights.
@@cancermancer692 thats why they left it unknown for fans to fill it in with their creativity. Thats literally the whole idea about darksoups now for stuff the leave for us to figure out.

Why does everyone seem to forget that artorias used a shield?
Or am i missing something?
Because he's usually using a Great Sword, you dont see the shield anywhere after using Sif's soul to craft the shield.
He does use a shield. Fighting Manus he threw his shield up to block a lethal blow to sif. Losing his shield but saving sif.
@@omarcardenasames The greatsword he uses isn't a greatsword to him, he uses it one handed, and the shield we get from sif's soul is the one that artorias used, hence why the actual shield of artorias can be found in the DLC, used to protect sif
@@nathanjora7627 he uses one handed because he has a broken arm. I know he used the shield to protect Sif but we actually don't see him use it at all.

Tbf besides the player he lasted far longer than anyone else. During the Age of Fire he practically built a career out of hunting down down dark wraiths and other creatures of the abyss. Even after he was corrupted we still see him slaying beings spawned from it. His defeat wasn't really a physical one, but spiritual.

Wow, this really went over your head didn't it? Ok so "sif" is the name of the wolf, this comic is insinuating that artorias named sif after that girl. Additionally the two knights note that many women are serving as blades for gwyn. So the person that dies (sif) is a different woman than the one we meet in game (Ciaran) they just both happen to wear that armor because they serve gwyn as assassin's.

I think Ciaran also pass away in lorewise. If you finish Manus DLC and return back to Artorias grave. Behind the grave is a corpse having item. Pick up item and it's a Hornet Ring worn by Ciaran.
