as Plague of Gripes once remarked, Dark Souls is "a setting more concerned with making references to Berserk then its own creative integrity.", and while a bit harsh... it does ring true.
the added "Forge, I can... Strong, I am." put a really big smile on my face after not playing DS1 in such a long time
The whole barehanded thing is cool asf but then you remember punching literally anything in ds1 and it feeling like a damp tube sock.

I got flashbacks to the Asylum Demon fight when I read this. The fists actually seemed to deal more damage than the broken sword so I spent about 2 hours wailing on him with my fists just to get his hammer. Good times!

If Ledo wanted to wield heavy weapons, while still serving as a knight to Gwyn, then he should've become a Black Knight
Black Knights didn't exist until the war with the demons, they were originally just the Silver Knight regiment with the largest weapons (but they still required finesse, as they take 18 Dexterity each), but their armor was burned black from the fiery attacks from the Demons when Gwyn led them against the Chaos Flame of Izalith.
Then eventually he also took then with him to the Kiln, and when Gwyn linked the flame, any that stayed with him had their bodies burned entirely and their souls fused with their armor and weapons, and they wandered the world as disembodied knights thereafter.
Their souls that survived the war against the demons binding to their arms is why they do bonus damage to demon enemies.

Ledo was trained in the way of strength by the Legend himself. That's why he can't use a Dex weapon.

Qizeaqfile's comics are brilliantly done. They start to bring the world of Dark Souls into an explicit medium. It's so unappreciated since it's very obtusely and vaguely told through implicit methods like environments and player dot-connecting. However not enough people read or are willing to read a comic and these videos are a great way to make this stuff accessible to a larger audience. Your addition of DS SFX with the dubbing to make moments read better is great. Please do all the comics and make playlists of them. If you do it'll eventually get the recognition it deserves and get big. Continue to hone your craft and improve. Keep on going, and good luck.

The ones you encounter in dark souls are often long hollowed, especially in dark souls 3 where they literally make hollow noises

There is a comic called Age of Fire that has been officialy sanctioned by FS (but written entirely without Miyazaki's input, so take that as you will) that follows story of one Silver Knight. The Knights both think and talk normally there. Also I would point out Silver Knights, as kin to Gods, can't go Hollow; they have no Humanity to begin with, so it's likely those Silver Knights you meet in DS are just doing their duty of defending their home. The Silver Knights in DS3 however seem to be controlled by Aldrich, as they bleed his goo when struck. The only exception to this, fittingly, seem to be the non-respawning Silver Knights in the Irithyll Manor.
@@scar4361 Need I point out that Gywns first born is very visibly hollow (but evidently lucid) in DS3, and that gywn was hollow in ds1 as well, we know lords of cinder arent inherently hollowed by the first flame either, given how all of them were aware and lucid when we killed them in ds3.
@@davianthule2035 That doesn't neccessarily contradict what I have said though. They may appear Hollow, but unlike Humans that lost Humanity they are quite sane as far as we can tell. Even if their apperance goes "Hollow" for whatever reasons, the Gods and their kin seem to retain their minds. As such I don't think Silver Knights can go Hollow the same way, say, Lothric Knights do.

Except the SKSS has pretty good strength scaling.
But you cant get any of it without the proper dex right? 22 dex is pretty high for a sl 125 build with 60 str and the vitality to carry a sk shield, full sk armor and that big old hammer

@@Specoups it’s hinted at a bit in the comic. When you use a weapon you dont have the dex to use, your light attacks will bounce off opponents who are blocking and you enter a brief state as if you were pseudo parried. You gain instability frames during the animation of your weapon bouncing off(meaning if you are struck during that period, you take increased damage and a loud “thunk” sound plays as you are struck, indicating that you took critical damage) sure you can swing the sword or spear around, but you do somewhere around like 1-10 dmg and your strikes are ineffective. In some cases, you’re better off using your bare fists if you can muster up the strength for it. In that ds3 pvp mod i showcased, your bare fists scale really well with strength but only if you go past like 40 strength if i recall. Once you’re at 60 str, your unarmed punches do quite a lot of damage

To be honest a lot of the inspiration for the Dark Souls series were inspired by many dark fantasy series especially Berserk.
