I saw her in 1991 in Detroit. For the first half of the set she wore a black dress. Then, she left the stage returning with a red dress. It was picture-perfect. I cried all the way home.
So true! So much chill ,so much love through the voice ,and with in few seconds leave us in the middle of dark woods of twin peaks! Thank you for.that.life experience no one.can beat.so far !
LauperTribute same here- I'm posting a comment about that I'm going to use this music as the tribute for my beagle who died last week- and I can visualize and hope I can create a visual slideshow of him- as sunrise turns to sunset. I cry every time I hear this. It's so ethereal.
@@designerlarry I'm sorry to hear about your Beagle (two years later). My Mexican Chica (a rescue from Guadalajara) passed away about a year a half ago. I did a video tribute to her on my channel. I dont think I could have handled this song in it. The one I chose was almost more than I could get through.
This was seriously some of the best music ever in a series. So distinct and musical. I've never stopped listening to it. Always on my car usb are Twin Peaks / Julee Cruise songs.
Her later life/career taught me some important lessons, about how to deal with oneself through all the good and the bad. It's an important thing, being able to look at yourself in your midnight mirror. May she rest in peace. Nice folks on youtube, let's carry on enjoying her music and lead a better life for ourselves and others.
I still think her character in Twin Peaks came from of the White Lodge. She sings like an angel. The way she gets emotional when singing this could be that she knew what was happening to Maddy at the time and was expressing it when singing. Or not.
Yes, Lynch is so good at giving the vibe without explaining it. It is truly reasonable that an angel from the white lodge secretly merge into humanity just to comfort them in bad times.
Julee Cruise was a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice. Rest In Peace Julee 🩷 The Twin Peaks series wouldn't have been the same without your and Angelo Badalamenti's musical contributions. Om Shanti. 🙏
I still can't believe she's gone. She played this song with so much emotion and passion! From those first two notes the very first time I watched Twin Peaks (which aired on the base in Scotland in '91? Or '90?), I was instantly hooked (or more correctly, trapped in the beautiful web that was All Things Twin Peaks). But this song, and a couple of others by Dame Julee Cruise, just absolutely shredded my soul. Of course, little did I know it then but I was dealing with my own BOB - in the form of depression. Still, I don't think Twin Peaks would've felt the same without that yet-to-be diagnosis PLUS being separated by an ocean from my family for the very first time in my BARELY eighteen years-long life AND in Scotland, of all places (beautiful, to be sure, but occasionally quite naturally gloomy). No, I was MEANT to fall into Twin Peaks when and where I did and, although it brought me to the brink of Cooper's Madness for real, I wouldn't have had it any other way, honestly. Thank you, Julee Cruise, for making my own Twin Peaks experience that much richer for all it's details in emotions.
In all honesty, Ms. Cruise's voice and the music of Angelo Badalamenti are an integral part of the original program Twin Peaks. Whenever I watched the airings of the show, I would send the audio signal through the VCR (remember those?) and then through the main amplifier and speakers in my stereo system, and crank up the volume. There was such a mysterious, nostalgic and even heart rendering sadness at times, such as when the mother of the murdered teen age girl would sob in anguish for her daughter.
So hauntingly beautiful. My dear uncle Shawn who passed 22 years ago adored her and loved twin peaks . She reminds me of him every time . ❤️ thank you for your angelic voice and heart felt performance
OMG she is so possessed by her song... this music has been haunting me for years now......I would find life & death easy to bear if I was alone & hopeless, and still had this music with me.
Wish I was there to hear sing sing this. Her tears are my tears. I in mourning from the loss of my beagle, Lenny, and the studio version of this ethereal song is going to be the soundtrack to my tribute to him. Part of my heart and life have gone with him.
Another of those otherwordly, unique talents that this rotten, upside down world simply doesn't know how to appreciate enough. So sorry for all that you went through, sweet Angel. I hope you're in a better place now. You have no idea what your music gave me in my difficult early teen years..and ever since.
So many talentless jealous and small-minded people commenting, denigrating a great talent for being free enough to immerse herself in the music. You will never make a record anything like Floating Into the Night. So, perhaps you should just shut up and move on to music that is more your speed, like Lady Gaga. And, getting old does not mean someone needs to hide away and never perform again.
I said this for one of the other songs from this performance, but the emotion and meaning she is wrenching out of these songs is just phenomenal. I don't care if she's missing notes or not hitting certain high notes, I have never seen more meaningful performances of these songs by her than these. The nature of these songs makes them gather more and more meaning with age. I haven't been this emotionally wrecked by a performance in quite a long time!
Syrinx ok, I agree with you on everything except Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga's music is made with passion and creativity. I love both Julee Cruise and Gaga. Gaga is a classically trained pianist and has a big range of what kind of music she can perform (flawlessly if I may add).
There's no question that Gaga is highly talented. The question I have is in terms of the musical/artistic quality of what she chooses to use that talent to produce. Christgau called one of the records something like "well-crafted pop machines". That was pretty accurate. They were very well-crafted and effective... machines. The music of hers that I've heard, several singles, were catchy but hollow. They sounded like commercialism. Similarly, Whitney Houston was a highly talented singer who chose to make banal commercially-successful music.
Syrinx I disagree with you about artistic quality of her music. I feel that it is some of the most artistic pop music being created today. I think it all comes down to taste and what sounds good to you. I feel the messages and inspiration behind her work are a reflection of the world at this moment. I think her pop music may not be as deep or emotional as music like this, but it does not mean it isn't good. Twin Peaks is about loss, love, evil, fear, and the human experience. That is the essence of Lady Gaga's current music as well.
To the idiots (trolls, haters) Julee Cruise understands Twin Peaks and what this song means. You don't. Julee Cruise is in the new Twin Peaks. You're not. The end.
I think the lyrics are written by David Lynch and the music by Angelo Badalamenti and when she recorded the song she had in mind her dog, a Cocker Spaniel!
Amazing song - it accompanies what is arguably one of the finest scenes in television history - however I am surprised nobody mentions Angelo, who wrote it.
This song and the music she made with Angelo Badalamenti and David Lynch, were the soundtrack to our lives in my little corner of Seattle for a few years in the early 90’s. Unashamedly sentimental, even sappy, but beautifully ethereal. Like floating on clouds of emotion.
She's very expressive live. I was fortunate to see her perform Cindy Wilson's " role" in the B-52's three times. (Also fortunate enough to see Cindy Wilson three times too.) This is beautiful!
"Love, don't go away. Come back this way. Come back and stay forever and ever..." I love you grandma. I wish you could come back to me. I miss you so much.
One of my favorite songs of all time. I played Twin Peaks soundtrack at my wedding reception, whilst everyone was having appetizers and cocktails. It was so incredibly moving. Amazing music- especially touching as a huge Twin Peaks fan since it aired on television, back in 1990. I was smitten from the start & still love to "get lost in those woods.'" To bad my marriage didn't work out. Should've known- He WASN'T a Twin Peaks fan! 😂😞🤦🏼♀️ #sadbuttrue #funnynotfunny #TPfan4life
What a great idea to have the soundtrack at a wedding reception:) You know, this is one of the breaking points for me too when interested in a guy. I was only 7 when I watched TP for the first time in 90 or 91 on TV. I wanted to marry agent Cooper. Hehe. The atmosphere, music, etc. always stayed with me. Then I watched it again at 19 years old on VHS and now at 32on DVD. I just love the 4:3, 35mm film feeling.
Tatyana Mircheva yes!! I understand!! I was completely captivated by it!!! It provided the most AMAZING ambiance! It was INCREDIBLE! It kills me that he walked out on me- LSS- I got sick- 3 surgeries... He bailed. 😔 Some people take the vows- but only want to apply the good parts- "heath, good times.." Devastating. But, I still am a romantic & still love to get lost in Twin Peaks. I can still dream!😌
this song is too sad to use in a wedding. Just like those weddings I attended, playing "my heart will go on" given that at the time the song was so popular. You can imagine ... where those weddings end up to be. ..
An Angel directly from the Haven... You have no name... For years,I say to people around me,"When I'm gonna died,I want to listen "Misteries of love" ! Then,I'm gonna leave in Peace... Wether is in agony at the hospital or at my funerailles,I want to ear this song and I'm sur I'm gonna reach the Sky!!!
Can’t get her voice out of my head since finish Twin peaks for the first time. What a talent so immersed in the performance she is! Good work Julie 😭❤️❤️
I love twin peaks ! Season 1&2 are amazing.. this is a great song by a very very talented singer with a voice that is faultless and a pleasure to listen to Julee cruise i love you We all love you ❤️
Watching this video is even more heart-wrenching knowing you're gone. RIP Julee. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. Enjoy your journey towards a new discovery.
She still has such a beautiful, young voice. Not everyone realizes this, but that’s not easy to hold onto. As we age, we naturally fall from a soprano toward alto. Julee has taken great care of her voice. She still sounds like an angel.
Growing old is the most beautiful process. Every step you take you loose a bit of your youth, but in exchange you gain something incomparably more valuable - Wisdom.
I can remember driving at night through a rural part of New Hampshire. And being absolutely transfixed with Julee's voice. Gone but not forgotten. R.I.P. 💞🌷🌷
Can't stop crying. Thank you, Julee, for all the magic you brought into our lives

HErmosa Julee she is forever with us.
I saw her in 1991 in Detroit. For the first half of the set she wore a black dress. Then, she left the stage returning with a red dress. It was picture-perfect. I cried all the way home.

This album helped me though a very confusing period in my life and seeing this still makes me cry

Rest in peace beautiful and unique Julee. Without you the world of Twin Peaks would've had a totally different sound, and never been quite the same.
oh no I didn't know :(
Me neither!
She said "How can you not cry when you're singing The World Spins?" in the Secrets from Another Place documentary. Wow. She wasn't kidding.
do you have a link for that Andreas?
Sending love and light💚🙏
true i bought dvd in 2007 golden box twin peaks = she said that How can you not cry when you're singing The World Spins?. we miss here
True, how can you possibly don't cry with The World Spins? Miss you Julee.
julee cruise's music made the world a better place, now without her everything feels so empty
Can't believe the news. A true artist, she will forever be missed
Shre is to young. I'm crying, my heart feels so much pain. Rest in peace Julee. An angel from above now.
This was seriously some of the best music ever in a series. So distinct and musical. I've never stopped listening to it. Always on my car usb are Twin Peaks / Julee Cruise songs.
I can't wait to hear new music for the new series.
new series??????????????? really????????????
Yep, Google Twin Peaks season 3. So far looks to be about 18 episodes and all directed by Lynch. It will appear on Showtime summer of 2017.
ohhhhhhhh u made my day mate....... seriously awesome news!!
I think Twin Peaks may be my favorite show ever!
She can barely get through it.
Don't cry, baby. We love you.

Julee, if you see this: You are the best! You've changed my life. I'm crying as well.
Damn she is really living her music. Talk about putting all your heart into it. Art is all about making yourself vulnerable, right?
Julee Cruise was a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice. Rest In Peace Julee 🩷 The Twin Peaks series wouldn't have been the same without your and Angelo Badalamenti's musical contributions. Om Shanti. 🙏
i love julee cruise she has the voice of an angel

One of the most beautiful performances of all time.
Bless her heart. Beautiful voice and clearly a very sensitive soul. Much missed.
If I get to live to 120 I'll never love anyone the way I love Laura Palmer. Julee Cruise is the sound of Laura's soul. So beautiful.

So hauntingly beautiful. My dear uncle Shawn who passed 22 years ago adored her and loved twin peaks . She reminds me of him every time . ❤️ thank you for your angelic voice and heart felt performance
Julee is also gone now. Maybe she'll perform a few songs for your uncle Shawn in Heaven....
I saw her perform this live in San Francisco when it came out. I've never had such a beautiful moment in a club.
❤😢
out of all music featured in twin peaks, this is the one that gets me every time.
Thank you for your music. I wonder now, does the world ever stop spinning Julee Cruise...rest in peace.
Tears, tears, and tears again. This show could make an ox cry. Miss Cruise, you're unique.

What a beautiful soul. Her voice was mesmerizing on Twin Peaks! Miss you Julee
I loved her so much. So glad I found this today, of all days. RIP JC.
Oh my gosh.. literally singing through tears.. this is heart-wrenching 😭😭😭😭
You can just tell she has lived this song, beautiful
Takes me right back to 1990 & Twin Peaks.. "it's happening again!" Stunning piece off music and film. 💔🙏🏻😢
She was sincerely grateful singing this. Very emotional. Beautiful, Julee Cruise. R. I. P. Angel. 🌹💔
Amazing song - it accompanies what is arguably one of the finest scenes in television history - however I am surprised nobody mentions Angelo, who wrote it.
It’s happening again. :(
david wrote it, angelo did the instrumentals
I was introducing my daughter to Julee’s music just this week and she loved it! I had no idea Julee died, may she rest in peace. 🙏🏻
Je pense toujours à vous Madame, chapeau bas dans le domaine des artistes.
Made me cry, so emotional, absolutely unique ❤️😢❤
My heart breaks. I love this woman. She was so special.
Amazing voice 😢 the songs from Twin Peaks is part of the sound track for my life, love the songs and the series ❤️
This song and the music she made with Angelo Badalamenti and David Lynch, were the soundtrack to our lives in my little corner of Seattle for a few years in the early 90’s. Unashamedly sentimental, even sappy, but beautifully ethereal. Like floating on clouds of emotion.
My reaction when listening to this song is in between those of Bobby's and Donna's. Just mesmerising and breathtaking.
"The things I touch are made of stone
Falling through this night alone..." RIP Julee
After all these years, she still makes me cry. How does she do that? Suffering makes this singing? Dear God. Madame Cruise, I truly Love you.
Brings back so many memories, this is why I love Twin Peaks,it's a world of nostalgia and I'm a nostalgic by nature.Thank you Julee.💖
