Had my brakes installed by the dealership (2019 GMC Soerra), and they didn't rest it. I kept getting the message ever since to say yes or no to new brake pads installed! Every time I pressed yes to answer that I had them installed, it would not reset it. This video helped me tremendously! It looked like it wasn't doing it at first, but it did go gray. It just took a couple minutes for It to register and show 100%. Thank you!!!!

Same with me but no lights came on just don’t have the words highlighted so I can press ok truck is running fine other then that. Any recommendations ?
I changed my rear brake pads, rotors and the sensor wire and my dash was lit up like a Christmas tree afterwards! I had ABS, check engine light, brake system failure, speed limit 43 mph, trailer braking system malfunction etc. The only thing that worked was disconnecting the battery for a couple hours reconnecting it and then when I went for about a 20-mile drive, the next time I started the vehicle the brakes were functioning again. I had to get the codes removed with a code reader as well and then everything was perfect. However I cannot reset the brake pad liif because it is still grayed out like you mentioned in this video. Do you have any idea why it is still grayed out after I changed the pads and sensor?
@BrockoM it seems as if you've done everything right. The only thing I can think of now is putting the truck in brake service mode. Turn off the truck, disconnect the sensors while the battery is still connected, reconnect them, get out of brake service mode. Turn truck on, and see if you get a new pads detected message. And drive the truck.

@@moto_ak47 I tried to put it in service but couldnt do so after about 12 tries. I think there is an alternate way to do this without scanner. What are your thoughts on this method? 1) unplug the EPB module and then wind the piston back clockwise into the motor. 2) proceed as normal with removal and installation of brake pads. 3) reassemble the motor and engage EPB several times to get the pistons back to the rotors.

After you changed the brakes on these newer vehicles did you pump the brakes to set the pads. I noticed that these are different when pumping the brakes afterwards and didn’t stiffen up. Thoughts
@Zebraunit22 didn't have to do anything with the reservoir. Just pumped my foot on the brake pedal until the stiffness came back. The parking brake was also on when I had the truck in brake service mode, and one I turned that off in the process of taking the truck out of brake service mode. That helped the pistons extend out to the new pads along with the few brake pedal foot pumps.
So I changed my brake pads on my 2O21 Tahoe today, when I go into the DIC it shows the front pads installed but greyed out and same with the rear pads, how do I get them to go back to white like they were before because I do not see a way to do that like you explained, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I did not see a vid on how to do a Tahoe but the Silverados and Tahoe have the same cluster for the 21 and below Chevys.
I'm pretty sure the tahoe's also have to be put onto brake service mode, worked on, and then taken out of brake service mode just like the silverados. This will allow the trucks cailpers and computer to recognize "new pads detected" and highlights both the front and rear pad icons to be able to reset them back to 100%
@@moto_ak47 so do I need to put them back into service mode to be able to reset the pad life in the center cluster. The cluster shows pads installed but they’re greyed out & no reset option.
@tha_dude_2477 correct. Try putting your Tahoe in brake service move. Disconnect the pad sensors (driver side front and rear) reconnect them. The the Tahoe out of brake service mode. And then try. You can take one more step further by trying a battery Disconnect /reconnect as well.
@@moto_ak47 okay I will see about them in service mode again & see if it allows me to reset the pad life. I’d hate to have to take the wheels off again to disconnect & reconnect the sensors but I’ll see what the first step gets me & go from there. I’ll keep you posted.
@@moto_ak47 okay so I put it in service mode & there are still no options that pop up to reset the pad life. I’ll probably just have to run it by a brake spot tomorrow & have them plug it in & reset it that way.

Yes. Unfortunately, with these new trucks these days. If you touch ANYTHING, you must do the correct maintenance process for which item of the truck you are working on, or else the truck will have pop up messages and throw codes and then you will have another problem on your hands as far as now figuring out how to clear them. Because the truck is not turning them off automatically, due to not being in the proper setting. In your case, brake service mode for brake maintenance. Brake service mode must be used anytime you touch or change brakes, rotors, sensors ect. Weather it be a complete brake job. Just fronts. Or just rears.

@@allaccesscommunications8535 did you put the truck in brake service mode before removing the tire and rim and pads/rotors? Did you then take the truck out of service mode when the job was completed?
No I did NOT have to replace the sensors. If they were damaged then yes I would have replaced them. They looked very clean and in good working condition so I did not bother them. I simply reset my pistons, added the brake pads. Hooked everything back up. Put a scanner on it and cleared codes. Then drove the truck 2-4 miles for the computer to reset the brake lights and turn them off.

What a joke vehicles have become...all for a sensor that if you need it, you should take a long drive off a short bridge...😂😂😂
Here's my question, had a wear pad sensor replaced with about 65% brake life left and now it says 97%. I have queried my dealership who does my major maintenance thise was changed when an wheel bearing was changed on my 2020 Sierra. Essentially they dealership says there is no way to relearn my brake pad wear sensor.
the brake pad wear sensor communicates with the trucks computer to tell the dash to reset the pad life % when the wear sensor is replaced(it only has one function thats put together with the replacement of the brake pads so if you change the sensor it automatically thinks you changed the pads as well. SO any time you change the sensors alone the truck will do what you are experiencing. no way to fix it until you change the pads and sensors again together in one complete job. (recommended to always change the pads AND sensors TOGETHER, at the same time!
Dose it have to be in service mode to get the letters to be bright white because I changed my brakes and mine is still a doll dim color and it will not let me click on it to reset it
@TimothyHarakal yes. You must put it in brake service mode. Do the porpee steps. Change the sensors and take it out of brake service mode for the letter to highlight and be visible to press and reset back to 100%
@@moto_ak47I did that I put it in brake service mode change my brakes took it out of brake service mode and then went to reset them and it wouldn’t let me reset them they were a dim color so do you have to reset them while it is in brake service mode?

Take it back to that person to fix it correctly for the services THAT YOU PAID FOR!!!. if this person does not honor your request that that job was not done properly, STOP giving this person your money and stop taking your vehicle to that person. Find another place that stands behind the work. Also you will need scan tool listed in the description of this video to clear the codes since it was not put in brake service mode to turn off the lights if they do not clear on there own after a few drives.
Hey buddy. I know a buddy of mine he got a 2020 Silverado and he changed all of his break pads and didn’t put it into service mode or nothing and his turned out just fine. Well it did throw codes but these trucks these days anything you touch will throw a code somewhere somehow. What he did to fix the codes was just disconnect the battery for half an hour and came back and everything ran normal since. The only issue is his thing whatever it’s called doesn’t recognize that the break pads are new I guess it didn’t detect them or whatever. So that feature whatever it’s suppose to be good for is basically no good anymore.
You are absolutely right. Anything you touch on these new trucks will throw a code. It's crazy. As far as the brake service mode for his truck not recognizing the new pads, that's why it's important to put it in brake service mode so it can recognize the new pads and allow you to reset the pad life to 100%. Lastly, with disconnecting the battery to clear codes does work for all vehicles, it's only a matter of a few days of the truck being started each day before the codes comes back on. If his is still not coming back on, he lucked out really nice compared to other folks with this truck, weather it be the chevy silverado or gmc sierra model brand. Thanks for the comments.
I changed mine without being in Brake Service Mode and cannot get the pad life to reset. Do I need to put it in BSM and remove pads and reinstall? Do I need to have a dealer reset it? Thoughts? @@moto_ak47

So I was wondering if the sensor wears down like the pad and it has to be replaced ??? If it doesn't touch then I don't want to replace it . THANKS
If you have brake pads with the old school metal brake pad wear indicators on them then yes. If not no. Unless you've let your pads wear completely out and your caliper pistons have dug into the sensors then your in alot more trouble than just replacing pads and sensors. I will be replacing mine on the next brake pad change. I left them in on my previous pad change. It didn't seem as if they needed changed to me. They were very new looking still.

I have a 2019 Sierra 1500 SLT and need to replace the rear pads. I tried to disengage the EBP using the steps you provided, however, I couldn't get it to work. What steps do I need to take to get these changed and not throw codes. Do I need to purchase a code machine? Thank you for your posts and Happy New Year to all.
I would suggest trying to put the truck on "brake service mode" before working on the brake on your specific truck. There will still be a possibility that it will throw a code. Unfortunately that's just how it is with these new trucks now. You can't do anything without throwing a code. As far as scanners to clear the codes afterwards. I have a few recommendations listed in the description of this video that will work for a 2019 truck.
Did you take the tire off and open the caliper to access the pads? If so then you will need to put your truck in brake service mode, open the windows and listen for your truck to release the brakes and then close out of brake service mode and see if your truck has highlighted your brake percents. This will allow you to reset the brake pad life %, if they are not highlighted, I suggest driving around normally for 1 mile, shutting the truck off. Waiting a few minutes and then driving an additional 2 miles and shut the truck off again. Wait a few minutes or hours or until the next day and if they are still on the next time you start the truck. Then yes you need to take it into a shop that has a scanner to shut off the lights.
The lights turned off and the 43 mph limit is off just the check engine light is on...thank you for the video bro hate that these newer trucks are so sensitive...i didnt not take off the caliper i just took the pad out
@@josephortiz5377 I hate it as well. Can't even change brake pads these days without the dash lighting up like a Christmas tree. My older truck, i just change my pads and rotors, took everything off, changed it, put every back together and lubed up and on my way I went. Old school....... not anymore. You can barley put new fluids in these things now without It throwing lights and dash messaged at you. As far as your check engine light. Give it a day and a half of your normal driving to see if the computer adjusts itself to turn it off on its own. If after 2 days of your normal driving and still nothing, yes take it to get that cleared off. Hope this helped.
Question, if you had the Puslar LT, why didn’t you use the Pulsar LT to clear the codes? Instead of taking it to a shop? Or does your Pulsar not have that feature?
Nothing happens. You can drive the truck just fine. You will just be riding around with it not reset. Unless you take the steps to fix it to have them highlight so you can reset it.
My front is not highlighted, allowing me to reset it. I changed rotors and pads and the front is grayed out when I try and reset it with ignition on and engine not running. Any advice for me besides spending hours at the dealer?
Have you tried putting your truck in brake service mode when you change your brakes? Push on the brake pedal and push in the park brake button at the same time for 10 second. Release the foot brake and park brake at the same time then quickly press the park brake button and the park brake icon should be flashing orange with a small wrench icon underneath it on your dash. Then see if your % icons have been highlighted. If not then to get out of this mode. Press the park brake button for 5 seconds or until it stops blinking and turns off. And check the % icons again to see if they are now highlighted for you to reset them to 100%
Same thing happened to me, If I had pumped the brakes up before I ever started to truck up this would've never happened, it did fix itself after about 15 miles,
Just did my front brake and rotors. Now it is throwing codes, brake failure. So I need to get it scan and delete.? Could I go to discount tires or do I need to run to the dealer?
@@zerolife7890 oh yeah I already figured it out. Had to drive a few miles. And have a brake shop hook up there scanner and turn off the engine light. The brake light went off on its own after driving a few miles and turning the truck off then on again.
@canuck64 hmm. Strange. The only other thing I can think of if you don't want to take the wheels off and Un plug and plug back on the brake sensors is to put the truck in brake service mode and then take it back out of brake service mode. But if you have time on your hands. I would put the truck in brake service mode, take the driver side wheels off. Un plug the sensors and plug them back in, take the truck out of brake service mode. And see if that does anything with the computer resetting it to then let you click.
@ancihuacuaromich9556 I see. Ok so if you did not put it in brake service mode before changing them. The brake wear sensors will not tell the computer that they brakes have been changed causing the dash numbers to stay Un highlighted and unable to be reset.
After I changed all four brake pads with new wear indicators (front driver and rear driver; both rear have EPB motors) on a 2019 GMC Sierra, the dash lights light up with Service Trailer Brake System, ABS, Brake System Failure 43 mph Top Speed, Service ESC, BRAKE, traction control, and engine light. The computer only sensed that the rear pads were new so that was set to 100% but the computer didn’t recognized the front pads were new. So what helped me get rid of the dash lights, I disconnected the Red Positive battery terminal only and left the black negative terminal on for 30 minutes. Reconnected the red terminal and all the dash lights were gone!!!! The only thing is the front pad life can not be changed and still recognized as the old pads which at this moment I can live with. I hope i can figure out how to change it to 100% without a scan tool bc it is not changeable as per this video states. Hope this helps some of y’all with the dash lights

@@moto_ak47 I swear, my truck is the most glitchy one I've ever had haha. I still love it but its got some quirks. The front parking sensors freak out when it gets hot outside. I'm in Texas so they're always flickering a message on screen saying "Front parking sensors blocked, see owners manual" when its hot. It comes up repeatedly over and over, the light on the dash is doing like a strobe effect. It eventually stops and the system turns off. Then comes back on later on it's own. I've had it in 3 times for it, they can never fix it. I've talked to GM and made a complaint, still no fix. My truck is my personal truck but also my work vehicle so I can't leave it with them for long periods to let them really dig into it. I'm not sure how accurate that brake pad thing is anyway. I tow almost daily with mine so the front brakes wore out quickly. It said 32% left but they were so worn out, it ruined the rotors. I dislike it aswell so with these new trucks you never know. I would still suggest pumping them since other folks have had there bscm's not detect that they changed the pads. Press "front axle brake pad life monitoring reset" the truck will ding 4 times and reset to 100% Do the same thing for the rear when you change those.

@@rook3364 you're welcome. I would buy the Zurich pro automotive scanner so that you can update it yearly if you plan to continue to work on your own vehicles that have alot of electronics and or know that you will be a person that purchases newer vehicles down the road that have functions that rely on computer sensors to reset things. Which as you can see somtimes fail to do so amd you have to end up manually doing it anyway when it fails to detect.

Did you put the truck in "brake service mode" before changing the brake pads?
@@moto_ak47 I tried to put it in service but couldnt do so after about 12 tries. I think there is an alternate way to do this without scanner. What are your thoughts on this method? 1) unplug the EPB module and then wind the piston back clockwise into the motor. 2) proceed as normal with removal and installation of brake pads. 3) reassemble the motor and engage EPB several times to get the pistons back to the rotors.
@@TracyHayes-fi2be Push the brake pedal down and push in the parking brake button at the same time for 10 seconds. Release them both at the same time after that 10 seconds and then quickly press the parking brake button once.

To turn it off. Press the park brake for 5 seconds or until the icon stops flashing and turns off.
Drive the truck for 1 to 2 miles. Turn it off. Then start it again 10 minutes later to check if the brake lights go off.
Unfortunately, if the check engine light is also on afterwards. It will need to be put on a new model scanner for it to be cleared.
After you changed the brakes on these newer vehicles did you pump the brakes to set the pads. I noticed that these are different when pumping the brakes afterwards and didn’t stiffen up. Thoughts
It was soft once I got back in the truck. But after 3 pumps it was back at its normal stiffness.
Did you have to open the brake reservoir cap on these newer chevys or just pressed them back by hand
Ok thanks for the quick response
You can take one more step further by trying a battery Disconnect /reconnect as well.

updated scanners in the description of the video
Good video Question, do you have to put the vehicle in break service mode if you're just changing the front brake pads
I did have it in the maint mode. My nephew is a mechanic for hundi and brought home his 10k scanner. He was able to reset the wear pads for me. Thanks. @@moto_ak47

Waiting a few minutes and then driving an additional 2 miles and shut the truck off again. Wait a few minutes or hours or until the next day and if they are still on the next time you start the truck. Then yes you need to take it into a shop that has a scanner to shut off the lights.

Did you put the truck in brake service mode when you did this work?
@ancihuacuaromich9556 I see. Ok so if you did not put it in brake service mode before changing them. The brake wear sensors will not tell the computer that they brakes have been changed causing the dash numbers to stay Un highlighted and unable to be reset.
What I understand is fine, you want to say that I would have to change the brakes another time, but now if with the procedure braked mode
@@ancihuacuaromich9556 No, you don't have to change them again. You will just not be able to reset your break life.
Does anyone know how to reset the Brake Pad Monitor message? I got my brake pads replaced and it still shows that message
Did you put the truck in brake service mode before replacing the brakes? And take it out when finished?
What if he didn’t?
Great information. Thank you for commenting. This I'm sure will help someone who watches the video. It's just unfortunate that these new vehicles come with these kinds of issues just from simple brake pad changes. Never had to worry about this stuff with older non 100% computerized cars/trucks. But again. Thanks for the information. I'm sure it will be helpful to folks.
Yes when I disconnected the black battery terminal only, it didn’t reset the dash lights so the red positive terminal is the way to go. Have a great day and thank you for your video
Did you figure out how to reset front pad life to 100%. I have the exact same problem.
@@HeathLNelson check your first comment. I have replied.
@@HeathLNelson I have not yet figured out how to change the front pad life to 100%. I just disabled the brake life on the dash instead. I was close to buying the Autel MK808 scan tool on Amazon for like $550 to reset the pad life but decided not at this time. Maybe later. Hope someone can figure it out and give us a holler. If I somehow later on figure it out I’ll comment again. Thank you
7:19 mn for explain 10 seconds LOLLLLL
Holy shit, are your tires at 70psi?
Sensors were broken and reading incorrectly at time of the video. Has since been fixed.
Just change mine and no option to reset front or rear "greyout" abs and check engine lights are on !?!?!?!
Did you properly put the truck in brake service mode before taking the wheels off?
And did you take it out of brake service mode once you completed the job?
You mentioned you being part of a Silverado Facebook, what is that? I own a Silverado too
Facebook group of people that own silverados that share pictures/information/ experiences that they've had with there trucks.
Ok so since you seem to know so much since it took 7 minutes to explain this… I just had my front pads replaced brakes and mine is still greyed out and at 19%. Why can’t I reset it?
You said "you just had them replaced" so are you saying YOU replaced them ? Or did someone else? And were the exact steps followed and done in order to put the truck in brake service mode and then also to get out of brake service mode?
@@moto_ak47 I dunno it was done at the dealership
@tylerfranz9017 that would be a good question for them then. That would give you the explanation and reason that they are still greyed out.
Must like to hear yourself. You get more likes and thumbs up getting to the point
Thank you for your comment. Yes I have been told. Since making this video I have taken the advise and I no longer do that. I now make sure I make shorter videos and try to only talk about the topic at hand. Thank you again. I will get better.
Mine doesn’t do anything when I select “front pad installed”. The text is white and it says I have 32%. My truck is pretty glitchy though…kind of annoying. I guess I can have the dealer do it.
Are you pressing the small black "ok" dial button on the right side of the steering wheel when trying to select it?
@@moto_ak47 Yeah, It doesn’t do anything. I can disable it, which is odd, but I can’t reset the brake pads.
@@KillerArcadeGames yeah idk about that. I hadn't had that before.
The rear differential just went out after only 87k miles, that took two whole weeks to fix. If anything else major goes wrong I think I'll head back to Tundras next time.
@@KillerArcadeGames oh wow. Yeah that's alot for that kind of mileage. I'm sorry to hear that. But I do agree some silverados have been having problems with different things. Glitchy radios, lifters ect. Issues like yours.
SOOO I had the same ISSUE, Changed front brake pads rotors, turn the vehicle on bamm all these lights come on, the brakes felt rlly soft etc, I have a 2020 Chevy Silverado LT trail boss, 5.3l, What I did was reset brake pad sensor light just as you mentioned, Turned off vehicle for like 10 mins, Turned vehicle back on, drive it around for about 3 miles, (remember brakes are still soft at this time). After 3 miles pull over, turn vehicle off for about 1 min. Turn vehicle back on, the brake codes cleared, all of them, except, the check engine. Pulled up to my house parked the car, ate some dinner. maybe 30 mins, got back in the car the code was still there, Drove to home depot to buy some shit, get back in my car, the check engine light is gone, BAMM done. :) LMK if this helps!
Don't you just love new computer everything vehicles. I'm glad you got yours all squared away. Thank you for the tips. It will help lots of folks.
I had to screenshot a certain portion of your video, why in the world do you have your tire pressure above 70? You got 2 at 73 pounds, 1 at 72 and 1 at 71.......should be just above 40 pounds.
Why tire pressure so high?
I have all terrain KO2 tires rated for 80 psi max.
My thing didn’t reset the percentage. I only changed the front
Dude loves the sound of his own voice huh?
This guy loves the sound of his own voice
Let me wrap this up, he'll tell you to take it to a shop
Mine won't let me reset. What do I do?
Did you change the brakes AND the sensors?
@@moto_ak47 yes. Taking it to the dealership tomorrow to reset
WOW these videos are helpful and are great bit 7:19 seconds to cover material that could get covered in literally 1 minute. Just TONS of filler and useless fluff. Get to the point and get on with it
I apologize this video did not meet your standards. Some of my subscribers enjoy & want the extra detail. Some other don't. I have videos in all 3 areas such as quick to the point/mid range/ and lengthy detail ones like this to fit each subscribers wants & needs. That is why my chanel has multiples of the same videos but different lengths. But, thank you for your comment and I will keep your comments in mind for future videos.
Damn that tire pressure is so high
@@jose6532 was hauling a very heavy load before making this video with K02 tires rated for 80 max psi. They were deflated back down to 40 the next day.
Changed my brakes and still cannot reset the break pad life, why?
Did you put the truck on brake service mode before you took the wheels off? And then take it out of brake service mode once you were finished?
I had a shop locally do it. I don’t believe they did
@@DonCartwright-o5e bingo. If they didn't. That's why.
@@moto_ak47 Is it fixable?
LOL I went to comment and everyone read my mind already!
I did the same thing on my 2019 but you do realize that you can use your pulsar LT to clear codes. Because I had a pulsar on mine, I got done with my brakes. Every freaking light on the dash was on. I kind of flipped out. It said I had reduced power, and TopSpeed was limited, and I went into the pulsar. Reset the codes and it did fine.
That's awesome man. Glad you figure that put. If you don't mind. Comment a new comment on this video of the steps you did to do this. I'm sure many others would love to read your comment. Thank you
Do you have a video of that? I’m experiencing the exact same thing
All do it yourselfers should have an OBDll scanner very simple and informative of what’s wrong and to be able to clear codes
@@tonytumminia5256Can the pad life be reset with aftermarket scanner?
@@dgronzega8073 I put drilled and slotted rotors on mine and didn’t do the brake service mode truck freaked out a derated itself to 45mph I used obd2 scanner to reset the limit fresh rotors and brakes used existing sensors and my truck never asked me if brakes were replaced I tried to recreate by going into brake service mode it never let me reset brake %meter
Long story short brake service mode retracts the emergency brake actuator on back brakes so you can compress the rear pistons without breaking the actuator and your truck shouldnt derate and freak out
It knows when you mess with the brakes
Mine are white and when i press nothing happens
Same here. I threw lights even after using maintenance mode, took the negative off cleared most of them. Check Engine went off after 4 starts, but when I do this when you click the wheel on the bold white axle that shows installed nothing happens
Get to the point.. to much blah blah blah
My ‘20 RST brakes started squeaking but only at low speeds. Got 26,xxx miles. Only had to slam on them once which was in July. The monitor says 85% rear and 74% front. How accurate do you think that is? I’m going to order some pads. But I got lost with some of the irrelevant info on your video so I skipped around. But to get it straight, after getting the new pads in, go you into this menu and do the steps? Is there no popping the brake reservoir anymore and pumping the brakes? I hate new technology.
It could be dust build up it’s normal
I dislike it aswell so with these new trucks you never know. I would still suggest pumping them since other folks have had there bscm's not detect that they changed the pads.
They then have to go in manully with a scanner to reset the life like I just explain to another gentleman who commented in the video today who had an issue. But I listed out the steps for him that the scan tool will show and what order to press the buttons to reset the brake pad life back to 100%.
Just get on with it!
This video was 7 minutes too long.
My rear went to 100% and front went to 75%, does anyone know why?
Did you make sure the front pistons were completely pressed back in before installing the new pads? And was the truck properly put I to brake service mode and taken out of brake service mode once finished?
This was useless. Thanks.
This video has helped alit of people, I'm sorry that you didn't think this was helpful to your or your situation.
Wtf you should run for Mayor
Cut to the chase, too muck Yak !
My apologies that the information you needed was not given fast enough. I will keep that in mind for future videos.
This did not let me reset my % ..wth?
FYI if you change your brakes (mine were warped and pads were roughly at 30% life when I changed it due to squealing and the heat warp) and I hopped in to find letters were still greyed out. No idea how to get it to become white so I can reset it after wasting 7 minutes watching this guy ramble
Less talk, more work
Took brotha forever to get to the damn point
My apologies that the information that you needed was not given in a timely fashion for your needs. I will keep that in mind for future videos.

Dam! Dude too dam long,ci can't

This was useless it wouldn’t even let me reset my brake pad life and the speed reduce to 43 miles an hour

@@moto_ak47 i did what u day but it wouldn’t reset it, it didn’t do nothing i enable it and disable it nothing happens so far i just changed the front brakes the rear are still good, i have no idea why it wont let me reset it
@@rook3364 unfortunately you will have to take your truck in to get hooked up to an automotive scanner and have them manully press the button on the scan tool to put yours back to 100%. This is common, since your trucks bscm did not detect that you changed the brakes. This is the only way for you to reset it back to 100%. That is why it did not work for you.
They will have to press 1. Igniniton on, then hit System selection. 2. Press brake system control module
3. Press special functions
4. Press "front axle brake pad life monitoring reset" the truck will ding 4 times and reset to 100%
Do the same thing for the rear when you change those.
@@moto_ak47 im going to the dealership in the morning its close to me only 2 min away from my house thanks and what scanner should i buy next time i change the brake pad
Too much damn talkin get to da point
