“Cry For Help” was the first single from Rick Astley’s third album “Free”. It reached number 7 in both the UK and the US meaning Rick was the first male solo artist to have his first 8 singles reach the top 10 in Britain. The ballad was co-written by Rick and Rob Fisher, best known as one half of the duo Climie Fisher.

The cinematography and editing is also spot on. The tight shots, overhead microphone, pan and focus, red/black theme but with a wide variety of outfits made it more dynamic. Lip sync was pretty spot on. Technically brilliant. Also you could surf Rick's hair.

I have a lot of respect for Rick that I don't have for a lot of celebrities. He was a millionaire in his mid twenties and a huge pop star.
Instead of acting a fool and winding up broke or crazy from bad choices rick met his wife and had a child.
He put the fame aside to raise his daughter and focus on his marriage. What a great man to do that and be so selfless when he could have done anything but that.
Today Rick is still playing music and looks healthy and happy and that's got to be from those food choices he made when he was younger..
Rickist have had some great role models and some people on his side because I don't see that happening for most celebrities today

As for in-person counseling, I hold very little confidence in any of them. What has saved me thus far, and hopefully pulled me out of my dark hole for good, has been online professional guidance from certain well-respected professionals.

The album this came from, "Free," was his first without producers Stock, Aiken and Waterman (Bananarama, Kylie Minogue, Donna Summer), and it would seem audiences didn't know how to react to not having the same cookie-cutter beats as "Never Gonna Give You Up" and "Together Forever." Plus around this time, people were getting tired of crooners; we were just on the cusp of the alternative/grunge/everything-sucks era of music.
