The Perfect 3D Sonic Game: My Ideas

  • You guys asked for it, so here is my idea (and every detail), for what the Perfect Sonic game should be like.
    Combining every game in the series' most re-playable and clever aspects and combining them with fan-made concepts.
    Makes the synergy that is this game idea, some people on the internet have already made the base to this idea (so it might not be all original), but this is the complete breakdown of how I imagine the finished game to be.
    Spent way too much time on this video (8+ hours) So hopefully these very colorful ideas spark some interest with you guys.
    And, let me know what kind of ideas you have for the next upcoming Sonic title, and what kind of story do you think would go well with this base idea i've shared?
    Hopefully, my on-going list of requirements the game should have - wasn't too much to understand, I know I can be overwhelming, Thanks for all the support again - and for watching this video.

    Sonic Frontiers was just announced, said to be an open world Similar to Breath of the wild, if the dialogue choices dont make it in, that sounds promising enough to be an excellent Sonic game, and it's head to NS Whoo!

    If you have an idea for a Sonic game, you need to set into concrete what you want out if it, instead of throwing out ideas from all different directions.

    SA1 - Controls,Level Design, and Crush40
    SA2 - Story, Chao Garden, and Crush40
    SH - Art Style, and Crush40
    SHTH - Edginess, and Crush40
    STH06 - Glitches, and Crush40
    SU - Voice Actors.
    SC - Wisps, Orbot, and Cubot
    SG - Equipment Shop, and Crush40
    SLW - Parkour
    SF - Custom Characters, and Infinite......bring back Crush40.

    My personal ideas of a 3D Sonic game would simply be what the Adventure style games established. His gameplay in action stages is entirely focused on platforming and exploration while speed is relegated to specific sections rather than being a primary focus. On top of that, the parkour system would be a neat addition in order to discover hidden pathways and items. My personal game also could possibly be an open-world adventure where you have a lot of freedom to run around and explore in places like Station Square, Eggman's secret bases, etc... The controls would be set up to where it's entirely fluid and perfectly suited for platforming. You could also play as different characters (Tails, Knuckles or Amy, to name a few). It would essentially be Sonic Adventure (or 06) but slightly bigger. That sort of style was what I always preferred for 3D Sonic. An open world where you're free to run around in suits Sonic and his adventurous personality (in my opinion).

      You could adjust the camera lense from fisheye to normal view.
      Oh and u know 2d in 3d..... my new console , you can SWITCH between 2d and 3d at will

      My perfect pitch would be
      STORY- The story would be written by Ian Flynn & the guy that wrote the story of both SA2 and Black Knight (which I forgot the name lol) as a duo in the writting
      MUSIC- For normal tracks I would get all the frontiers team, the guys from Final Horizon and Jun Senue and for vocal tracks I would be Crush 40 and Kellin Quinn
      ARTSTYLE- I would get the artists from the adventure games to design the places (specially with that awful plataforming look of frontiers) but I would get the people from Sonic Dream Team to tweak the designs of the characters and making new ones
      CONTROLS- The game would have adventure like movement but improved and you would play as the roster from 06 with their abilities made more with more deph and some moves that every character needs such as homing attacks, double jumps, stomps etc.. and it would also get other characters as DLC
      OPEN ZONE- The formula of Sonic frontiers with better ''freedom'' mechanics; meaning there would be various ways to unlock things but all equally balanced
      LEVELS- It would be like cyberspace but now split in 2 acts with a boss at the end with a good ranking system and also incluiding multiple power ups inside monitors like the elemental shields, a skateboard and much more, a custom abilities system like in Sonic Generations and levels desgned by the people who made Sonic Dream team with help of some Adevnture level designers
      COMBAT- The combat would be much more balanced in moves, adding things like a needed combo meter for some moves, it would make moves very different from each other in multiple ways, give the parry actual timing and a huge combo system that values variety, style, speed and so much more.. with a good ranking system at the end of combos
      SIDE THINGS- A Sonic Forces costumization system adapted for the playable characters, a the Big The Cat fishing minigame a little nerfed and with better fishing mechanics, a multiplayer mode playable with CPUs, local players and maybe online...... and the Chao Garden....... do I really have to explain?........

    I feel like they could incorporate a combination of the Adventure and Boost formula in one game.
    Like the Adventure style could be improved upon, but the boost is relegated to like missions or something.

      Alaqeam you could do that or maybe you unlock enough speed by spindashing and so you get to boost at a certain point of speed and than you gradually loose it.

      Couldn't agree more. The Utopia devs did an awesome job bringing the physics from the classic games to the 3D world, rewarding players who took advantage of momentum with speed. That's why the original classic games took off the way they did, and it's why Sonic Utopia stands a chance of being a spectacular 3D Sonic revival title.

    i dont know about the "no voice acting" thing or darkspine sonic but everything else sounds good but honestly what would make this game you speak of possible would be a new sonic team or someone who REALLY knows what the fans want, because it seems like from what the sonic creators have said they want sonic to be some shitty temple run boost to win game which is not wanted and not needed. But overall i like your idea, if only there was someone in the community who knew Japanese who could email SEGA and tell them this. I just want sonic to be full 3D greatness again

      Totally agree about that temple run point, it was fully realized with Forces Speed Battle, I actually had more fun with that game haha
      and,
      The voice idea was to get rid of any cheesy feeling to his character, since Sonic is nothing but positive vibes.
      His positive demeanor is implied, and I feel like his dialogue will never change if they keep up that cheerful tone in his voice. Like sonic getting tortured for 6 months and saying "I'm perfectly fine!"
      He actually sounded fine, but if we read that, we could have saw more meaning in those words.
      Giving him that cheerful simple voice, is taking away his depth in one effort.
      For me, As a kid, I would draw Sonic comics to mess around, without that voice in my head, His character was a lot more interesting, just with my 8-9 year old ideas alone.
      It was proven that his character was more interesting without a voice in Sonic Chronicles.
      He felt like a real character there.

      Christopher Toro Well the things is that's the Pontac's and Graff's fault for editing the script for the English VA's like Sonic was roughed up for 6 months and Tails' location was unknown to the resistance when they were talking about the situation in the beginning and as for Sonic's optimism well it's in his character, yeah but they nailed him perfectly in Forces, the problem with a few past Sonic games like Colours in his character is that he hasn't shown much vunrability until now...like yes we want to see the Hero beat the Villain but I believe we also want to show the Hero struggles to get there, I mean if any game did it best in terms of narrative look to Sonic Adventure 2

    There are things I agree and disagree. (COMPLETELY disagree with the no voice acting and branching, I don't want Sonic to be Mass Effect, Sonic games need a single well written Narrative, get a talented writter like Ian Flynn and have him go all out.)
    To me, a sonic game (and I'm speaking STRICTLY about the 3D games, as I didn't grow up with the classic game and don't really care about any of them except for Sonic 3 & Knuckles) needs 3 things: Gameplay, Story, and Style.
    Gameplay should be a sort of marriage between what we had in Sonic Adventure, Lost World, and Generations. and Levels molded in a way that accommodates multiple characters that share a same gameplay style but have disting abilities (for example: Have high areas that you can only reach by flying as Tails, or passing undetected as Espio, or breaking through with Knuckles, etc.), They started dipping their toes with this concept with the Avatar's wispons now they need to expand upon it.
    Story is a big one for me, as it encompasses a big part of why I became a Sonic fan (I started with the Adventure Series, grew up watching Sonic X, and recently read the whole Archie comics). First of all, I *STRONGLY* believe the game's universe desperately needs a reboot, Pontaff killed the characters personalities and continuity and many characters lost their purpose (the most obvious being Knuckles and his role as Guardian of the Master Emerald). The world of the games needs to have a solid foundation stablished, and there's no better template than the Post-Reboot Archie comics (which take the game from Sonic 1 to Colors as cannon, except for LW and Unleashed). there we have a World were humans and Animal people coexist, no "different dimmensions" Bullsh*t like Iizuka said. Perhaps the first few games could be remakes of the Adventure and Heroes era, rewritting the stories to be familiar but fresh and, above all, having a consistent timeline,
    Aside from the setting, the Tone of the Story needs to be that of an Action Adventure it Must have Darker somber moments but it have to balance them out with moments of fun and levity (again, like the post reboot archie comics), Let the characters have moments, development, struggles, have villains who are genuinely a Threat (like Eggman himself , Chaos, Mephiles, The Erazor Djinn, Shadow in SA2, etc.) and Always end the game with a Cathartic Epic battle with Super Sonic.
    Now for the Style, I think they need to go the "Anime-style" route, the best example I can think off is something like Sonic X (visually Speaking) the Humans in the world shouldn't be rendered extremely realistic (Like 06), but not extremely cartoony (like Unleashed), have them be in a style similar to that of a Shonen Anime, where humans have fairly realistic proportions but are made in a way ones with over the top features (such as Eggman) don't look out of place.

      @prickly pear honestly, I think it was fine-ish up until Unleashed. it was Colors onwards that it started going downhill (storywise) with Colors. before that, you could still see sort of a loose chronology and even games like 06 (I still think Shadow's story arc in that game is pretty good.) had a certain value or ambition.

    I'm gonna have to disagree heavily with this, it sounds like you are throwing a lot of stuff into this without thinking of how it meshes together or even how it melds with Sonic's gameplay. Like I can't tell if you want it to be a Mass Effect game or some kind of RPG. The lack of voice acting in favor of dialogue boxes makes little sense because Sonic has a defined character, you don't impose a character on him. The idea that Sonic's choices affects the stage also sounds like a whole lot of work, and too much to truly be fulfilling and cost effective. Also, Mania doesn't make Tails, Knuckles or Sonic all that different, and you are basically playing the same character but they have one other ability. Knuckles only makes the game feel different because he has exclusive paths. I also don't feel like you give a whole lot of concrete ideas, just vague ones that don't give me a strong grasp of what you want.
    My ideal Sonic game would go as follows:
    Control of Adventure 2- Return to that kind of 3D Sonic control, not the stiff control the boost games have or that 06 has. Adjust the physics a bit so that it is closer to the classics, while also translating well into a 3D space. Sonic's top speed could be upped slightly but not to the extent of say Sonic Utopia, I believe his top speed is too fast for more linear levels.
    Gameplay of Adventure1/2:
    Return of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles with their Adventure 2 and 1's gameplay styles. Sonic and Knuckles are pretty self-explanatory, but have Tails have short optional mech shooter sections that are like SA2 but his main gameplay is that of SA1. Knuckles would be move faster than he did in SA2 so that he can find emeralds faster and enhance the radar so that when you get within a certain range of the treasure and arrow will appear leading you to it (the arrow is optional and can be removed). He would basically just be play and control like Sonic but with his gameplay geared towards exploration rather than stage completion. Sonic's gameplay like I said will be no different than it was in Adventure 2 but rather than dropping boost all together he gets into a boost state when he maintains his normal top speed for a few seconds. The boost state can drift, side step and has a larger arc of turning than he normally does. Basically it is boost gameplay but you have to earn it. While not in boost mode he has parkour (I found this to be a very good concept in lost world) which can be used to enhance platforming. Also goes without saying but it it fully 3D.
    Level design is a bit of a mixed bag:
    Sonic's would be more linear but rather than levels be either speed-centric or platform-centric, every stage has paths dedicated to certain things. Like the main path is just the main path and will mix up the level with some platforming sections with some straight paths to just run on and build up speed. But at the end of platforming section or a speed section there will be an alternate path that allows you to keep up your desired gameplay. So say you wanna keep the speed going, just before that section ends a path will be accessible by breaking through a wall with the boost mode that allows you to keep up your speed. If you want to keep platforming, at the end of the platforming section, and alternate path is available with parkour that allows you to continue platforming.
    Knuckes levels would be smaller and more compact like his earlier stages in SA2, nothing to the level of Meteor Herd. They would be open world and but smaller than the hub world, maybe with some linear sections. So the levels don't feel practically barren along with the basic treasure you would have to find, levels would have extra collectibles like red rings or upgrades like in SA2 that are not affected by the radar.
    Tails' levels would be altered Sonic levels with many sections changed around to fit his flying. They would also have alternate routes and collectables only accessible by his mech which would now function as a Shadow style vehicle. Tail's levels both in and out of mech will be focused primarily on platforming and a bit shorter than they were in SA2.
    There would also be Adventure stages like in Adventure 1 that would be your open world, these would be bigger than they were in Adventure, probably as big all of Utopia if you combined them together, but separately they would be just a little bigger than the ones in Adventure 1. They would be where you head to each Action stage and where you can get missions from NPC's to perform in levels (like finding Chao, preforming tricks and such) as well as find extra collectible to encourage exploration. Also maybe optional world building, but Iizuka would probably contradict anything presented so who cares. But the most important thing is to have access to a map for simple stage entry, no forcing the player to run around a hub world.
    Story/writing of Adventure2/Unleashed/Black Knight/X:
    Something serious, but not hammy like Forces was. The characters would be serious but in character and some far more akin to their Adventure 2 counterparts than anything. Sonic would be like Unleashed Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy and Eggman like SA2. Should Shadow or Rouge be involved they too would be like they were in SA2. It would have voice acting and given the chance I would get my personal ideal cast to voice the characters, but realistically that would not happen. I would prefer a plot with actual stakes and something where some member of the cast goes through an arc. Maybe introduce a new (one off) character for this game
    Art directions would be have the models be more stylized:
    I agree with the idea of making the game non-realistic, but I do not know how Cel shading would look on a Sonic model, I could live with how it was done in Unleashed with everything being cartoonish, but I would like to see them take a crack at something more anime inspired in terms of an art style. Have a mixture of fully 3D cutscenes for important scenes, but for Adventure stage conversations have hand drawn CG stills (I am a sucker for any excuse to have Yuji Uekawa do more Sonic art). This would be a big game so of course get Marza Planet to do the REALLY important stuff. This is more sound directions but get Crush 40 on it and of course bring back Adventure style music.
    Extra stuff: I want them to retry the OC idea, but this time it isn't at all story relevant. You just use it to play through character stages. You maybe get make 3 characters all tailored to the 3 gameplay types and they can be used to play in those stages. Maybe have a OC mode where you get a small OC side story, but nothing central to the plot. Multiplayer would be cool, bring that back just like how it was in SA2 that is what all the other characters could really be used for, just like how Tikal, Metal and the Chao were playable in SA2 multiplayer, and have Blaze, Silver, Vector and the other playable in multiplayer. The OC too.
    Almost forgot, BRING BACK THE CHAO!!!

    Thinking about how I would design a Sonic game is like my favorite game design exercise. If I were given the job of redesigning the Sonic formula, I would probably start back at the basics. Whenever I'm making game prototypes, one of, if not the first thing I do is make the character and make them fun to control. It should be fun just to move the character from point A to point B, and their move set should be diverse enough to handle any situation (in the case of Sonic, it should be able to handle platforming at a wide range of different speeds) and flexible enough to interact seamlessly into whatever game mechanics I decide to have interact with them (Sonic should be able to interact with various level mechanics without having to take control away from the player). I know everyone always mentions this game, but it is for good reason; Sonic Utopia is a great take on the Sonic formula. Control is never taken out of the player's hands in this game and the controls are solid and fun to use.
    In my opinion, if your character is fun to control at the base level, then the level design almost makes itself; it would just be a matter of coming up with fun obstacles and structures you want to traverse with that move set. Of course, there would a lot more things to think about, like difficulty ramping, and level theming and how that would tie in that level's primary mechanic. Aside from all that though, I really think having solid character controls should be the seed of the rest of the game's design philosophies.
    As far as story and art style go, I actually had the same idea as you and I think cell shaded graphics could be a fun choice in art style. I think you could go even further and make the whole game look like it was 90's anime with pastel painted textures on the background and maybe even animated cutscenes (if we were to have unlimited time and budget to make the game). I could see it having an almost "saturday morning anime"-like story as well being for all ages, but is still written seriously with depth and character.
    With all that said, I don't believe is there is ever a "right way" to design a game necessarily. I think with enough effort and tweaking, Sega could make either the Adventure or Boost formula games into something great.

      i81up2 I completely agree. I made a comment saying basically the same thing. There should never be a point where the game needs to play itself for 30 seconds. I'm just saying. If Sonic can't do it without automation of some sort, don't make him do it. If that's too limiting, we now know Sonic's move set sucks, and we need to change it. Sonic Team doesn't seem to get this, though, and I'm now thoroughly convinced that this is why Mario and Sonic haven't had a platforming crossover. Nintendo understands that Iizuka is an idiot and would fuck it up lol

      Fully agree. I think Miyamoto's design philosophy behind Super Mario 64 should be a given when making any platformer: the character must feel fun to control on a fundamental level before anything else is created. If moment-to-moment interaction isn't fun in and of itself, there's a problem. Utopia seems to have followed this, and I think it paid off. Forces definitely didn't.

      In Sonic Utopia, from the clips I've seen, it looks like there is some level of "snap-to-grid" functionality. It's not precisely _automation,_ but on loop-de-loops and some of the thin strips of land, itt seems apparent that Sonic is snapping to the ground. I think that with a character as fast as Sonic, you have only two options:
      1. Either there is some "aim assist," allowing the computer to guess what you want to do and snap you to it. For instance, if you run full-speed into a loop, the game will assume you want to loop and will offer some control so that it's not too easy to run out of the loop and spoil the momentum.
      2. Make everything wide and long, so that over- or under-correction are forgiven to a greater degree. I don't know how this option will affect game-feel.
      That said, I think your philosophy of "make just moving around entertaining" is dead-on, and something that Sonic Adventure 2: Battle seemed to have, at least in part. The Chao garden was fun, in part, because just moving around with Sonic was a pleasure. In some ways I think that made the levels LESS interesting because you felt like you were either unequipped to deal with battle in an interesting or dynamic way (A, A, repeat) or you were on a track.
      For a long time I've been saying that Sonic games should lean into the "track" idea and try to make it where you never lose momentum. The day stages on Sonic Unleashed being a prime example.
      Rethinking it now, that's so limited that I don't know if it's really where the series should go. I mean, there's not a ton else to do with that idea, right? If there is, then we haven't seen it much. I feel like the Mario formula can still go another 20 games, continuing to change things up in an interesting way, but the Sonic formula? I dunno if I ever felt like it was genuinely perfected.
      Anyway, I think Sonic Utopia is the closest thing to what I'd want a Sonic game to be, overall. Fast character, semi-open stages and retaining control throughout the level. I think the homing-attack thing needs to be rethought, though.

      Having played Sonic Utopia, I can say there is no snapping that I could notice. If there is, it was small enough that I didn't notice. With that said, if it's for running through those really tight loops, some sort of "aim assist" would help a lot. It wouldn't be complicated to implement either. You could just have 2 splines that run along the edges of loop that slightly repel sonic away from the edges (or one spline that pulls you toward the center), just enough to make the loop easier, but not too much that it would prevent someone from running off on purpose. Though making everything wide and long is also a good strategy. I would probably consider using both just to not limit myself on what I can make.
      As far as the homing attack goes. I understand why it's necessary, but I do also agree that it needs to be reworked. In Sonic Utopia, the homing attack retains your momentum even after you hit the enemy, and it only really corrects your trajectory towards your target instead of of just pulling straight towards it, not taking in Sonic's speed or direction into consideration. I like this approach to the homing attack. Aside from making that change, I would also try to limit its use in the actual level design. Crossing a gap by stringing homing attacks on a line of enemies was a cool mechanic when it was new in the Sonic adventure games, but I think it's better used as a crutch for Sonic's existing moveset than as a standalone means of traversal. With that said, I have played fan games that use the traditional homing attack well, so I think this is a case where the level design makes big difference on how that move should be implemented.

    They could try to get writers from Archie comics, since they had some good stories. As for Sonic being mute, I would honestly hate that. Sure, I hated the way Sonic joked around every second to the point it sounded annoying & corny in Sonic Forces, but I just think his actor needs a better script. A balance between regular dialog, suspense, drama with some comedy, but not too many. Hell, I would of been more forgiving for Classic Sonic in the game if he had Jaleel White reprise his role, but since they didn't, he was just a boring character with no personality, besides being nostalgic.

      H8rdwork 1. Archie Writers are a mixed bag, starting with Ian Flynn himself. The man has took a nose dive ever since the reboot issues, the Boom comics, and the shitty Boom cartoon.
      2. Agreed on Sonic staying mute being stupid, disagreed on Roger Craig Smith needing a better script. He's a miscast. Period. His voice is just wrong, his performance is just a bored 40 year old slacker trying hard to sound cool, and even the "serious" lines he had, he comes off as bored and mundane.
      What is the game of the series that gets as close as possible to your perfect tone/writing, btw ?

      Lust For And I can't take you seriously for calling Boom "great", when it's yet another disgustingly lazy and pretentious self-aware sitcom shit which humor mostly consists of outdated factoids about the fanbase or the series, or cheap references to old as fuck movies the braindead audience who watch the show has never heard of.
      It's a shitty pretentious carbon copy of Modern Family Guy or Teen Titans Go. And "not taking itself seriously" is not exactly a fucking perk.

      As a person, he went as far as calling people "turds" over attacking Anita Sarkeesian, and that is enough for me to see him as a piece of shit irl too.

      Time for you to face reality. He's been in this role for 7 FUCKING years. He voiced for at least 8 games of the series. He hasn't improved a goddamn bit, in fact, he's gotten progressively worse since. Forces and Boom RoL being the most "serious" he has ever gotten, and he comes off as detached, bored, and really phoning in his performance. But when it comes to fast talking self-aware sitcom shit ? Booooooooi he's having a field day at showing off his mediocre stand up comedian skills.....

    First off, Having multiple paths in terms of story doesn't fit well with Sonic. Having multiple story paths would add to confusion, leaving fans wondering what story is canon and what isn't. It works well with other games that don't have stories that continue on from previous games. SEGA has also tried to do multiple paths in Sonic before, it hasn't worked well.
    Second, I disagree with the cartoon artstyle. I think realistic settings can be just as stylish, like in Persona 5. Sonic Forces managed to make the world slightly realistic but also stylish at the same time. I also think that Sonic should have a voice actor, not having one would be strange for a story. A non-canon spinoff game works better with being able to choose your own pathways in the story.
    Third, in terms of level design, I think the stages should be as open as stages seen in the Adventure games, and stages like Seaside Hill from Generations, and Null Space from Sonic Forces. I like the idea of meeting characters and being able to play as that character, depending on who you end up with, though.

    My ideal sonic game:
    Playable Characters:
    Sonic
    Tails
    Knuckles
    Shadow
    Rouge
    Omega
    Sliver
    Blaze
    For sonic's gameplay i have it be a mix of the adventure gameplay and mirror's edge. I've always seen sonic not just speed but more acrobatic and this is shown mostly in the sonic cd animation. Sonic should have a decent amount of abilities like the insta-shield, spin dash, drifit and parkour. As for tails his gameplay will be his gameplay in adventure but with out racing sonic. Knuckles will have all his abilities from the adventure games but he will be in action stages instead treasure hunting. Shadow will be a copy of sonic but with added features like chaos control -which allow him to skip threw certain parts in levels- Rouge will have treasure hunting stages but more obvious and simple. Omega will have mech shooting but more fast paced and actually fun. Sliver will be like his gameplay in 06 but with some major adjustments, sliver will be as faster and less hard to control, his powers will also function like the magnetic rune from the legend of zelda breath of the wild and Blaze has the same gameplay from 06 just more stable and updated.
    The story should be a both light hearted and dark something similar to SA2 and Unleashed. Also we need a recon to were there's one version of sonic, no classic no modern no dreamcast no boom no dic just sonic. At this point sonic is loosing his identity because there are so many versions of him. Also no pontac and graff bring back Shiro Maekawa.....
    As for the artstyle i want it to be like SA1 & SA2, it was animeish which i liked.
    I would actually liked to have voice acting in this game.

      If there's one thing I'd want my dream ideal sonic game to be about (and i don't blame any of you for having a problem or just all around outright taking this out of context but) I'd want it to be based on the aftermath of four events: sonic X sonic 06 sonic forces and of course sonic mania adventures. The reason? So that A. You can play as not just sonic and his friends alone but also their classic selves as well (yes including the fan characters made on deviantart.) B. So that my dream sonic game will act as a combination between the first season of sonic X the adventure fields from SA1 and the hub worlds from sonic 06 so that when exploring the open world not only can you play as sonic and one of his friends or classic sonic and one of his friends at will but you'll also be able to fully explore not one not two not three not four not five not six not seven not eight not nine but ten extraordinarily spacious planet wide hub worlds to explore with absolutely positively not a single sign of intrusive inaccessibility. And C. Just like the hub worlds in sonic 06 sonic and company can buy upgrades from the many in-game shops with the rings they earned in a stage talk to the in-game people locate the next stage or spend most of their time messing around in the open world. If anyone has a thought of a story for my dream sonic game I'd love to hear it.

    Sonic Unleashed with more play styles and a revised Boost that slowly increases speed the longer Boost is initiated.
    Using special character abilities for gameplay.
    Awesome environments that look surreal along with the realistic environments.
    More open levels with 2-D and 3-D mixed and balanced as long as they're fun.
    Better narratives like Sonic Adventure, Sonic X, or the intended Sonic Boom story before it was removed by Takashi Iizuka.
    No Classic Sonic.
    That's just a start.

    I agree with you on many ends of what you've said, but the vocal dialogue should still exist. They need to make that less clingey and more sonic-y. The ideas of him can mix, since he's lighthearted but serious when the going gets tough. You just have yet to see that

    Having looked over various videos and control setups for Sonic games, I've decided to put together my ideal 3D Sonic game, using '06 as the base game, because I have nothing better to do with my life and way too much time on my hands.
    First, the bindings/movesets.
    -Left and Right Sticks: movement and camera respectively.
    -Left Click: Display map/UI (hub world only.)
    -Right Click: Recenter camera.
    -A: Jump.
    -B: Kick/hold to slide.
    -X: Action (Boost for Sonic, Chaos Arrow/Spear for Shadow, PK Throw for Silver.)
    -Y: Special (Default is Light dash for Sonic, Chaos Control for Shadow, PK Grab for Silver.)
    -LB and RB: dodge roll/sidestep left and right.
    -LT: Lock on.
    -RT: Crouch/Roll/Drift for tight corners
    -A+A: Long jump for Sonic, Double jump for Shadow, Hover for Silver.
    -A+B: Stomp.
    -LT+A while in air: Homing Attack.
    -Crouch+mash & release A: Charge Spindash/Lightspeed Attack for Sonic.
    Now, the physics.
    -All three characters have the same base max speed.
    -Handling and acceleration is similar to how Sonic and Shadow controlled in SA2, but turning becomes more tanky the more speed you build up, like in Heroes or Unleashed. This fixes the Adventure formula's twitchy controls at higher speeds.
    -The more momentum you gain, the faster you go (obviously.) You can push past your max running speed by rolling down slopes, hitting dash panels, boosting, etc.
    -Drifting allows you to roll into a ball and turn tight corners while running, sidestepping dodges enemy attacks.
    -The longer you hold the jump button, the higher you jump.
    On to the general gameplay.
    -Of course you have the standard affair such as rings, time, score, lives, rank, etc.
    -All characters have a Chaos Energy Gauge. Refill the gauge by collecting Chaos Drives from defeated robots and pickups.
    -All characters can kick enemies/crates/pickups and have access to the Homing Attack. You can also spin jump, slide, stomp, and roll to attack enemies.
    -Kick handles similarly to Rouge and Knuckles' attacks in SA2. Does minimal damage against enemies. The number of kicks you can string together depends on which character you are playing as.
    -Sliding handles similar to Generations. Does minimal damage, but allows you to retain momentum while attacking.
    -Rolling into enemies does much more damage, but will cause you to bounce back slightly off your target and lose some momentum.
    -Rail grinding and wall running works like it does in SA2, with the Left Stick controlling your balance and B to pick up speed.
    Finally, we come to specific character gameplay. We'll start with Sonic.
    -Sonic's gameplay is speed oriented. As such, his primary move is the Boost. However to make it feel less like a race car and not as overpowered, a few tweaks are made.
    -Tapping the Action button has Sonic dash forward into maximum speed, holding it lets him go faster and faster until the Energy Gauge depletes.
    -While the initial shockwave from the Boost can knock back smaller enemies, it cannot damage them and does nothing against larger foes.
    -Boosting headfirst into enemies will knock Sonic back and damage him. The gauge also depletes faster than the standard Boost games. As such, you will need to use the Boost sparingly and make use of the aforementioned attack moves to get through stages.
    -Sonic is the only character who cannot Spindash, as the Boost renders it redundant. He can, however, unlock and charge a Lightspeed Attack, which works like the Adventure games but less dodgy.
    -Sonic has the highest jump height of the three main characters and can string together two kicks.
    Next up, Shadow.
    -Shadow's story is more action oriented. Tapping Action will fire unlimited Chaos Arrows as fast as you can push the button, holding it charges a more powerful Chaos Spear.
    -Depending on your progress, Shadow can lock onto more enemies with a fully charged Chaos Spear.
    -Mashing A after a Homing Attack performs the Chaos Attack.
    -After an enemy is defeated, Shadow can pick up and use heavy weapons such as Plasma Cannons, Rocket Launchers, and Chainguns from defeated foes until it runs out of ammo, after which he will discard it automatically.
    -Shadow's gauge starts off empty. Once the gauge is full, he can use Chaos Control to temporarily stop time and take out enemies in an invulnerable state until the gauge depletes.
    -Shadow has average jump height but can double jump and string together two kicks and a spin kick.
    Last but not least, Silver.
    -Silver is more focused on platforming with environments and simple puzzles that take advantage of his psychic abilities.
    -Pressing Y will cause Silver to grab an object, X will throw the object at whatever you've locked onto.
    -Unlike the other two characters, Silver's gauge slowly regenerates automatically. Chaos Drives can speed up the process.
    -Silver's stomp attack can stun enemies by mashing the B button on the way down.
    -As he is the youngest character, he has the weakest jump height, cannot string together kicks, and has a noticeably slower Homing Attack.
    - To compensate for this, Silver can Hover, which cannot be spammed and drains his energy gauge.
    To include a co-op mode, each character has a typically AI controlled player two.
    -Sonic has Tails, Shadow has Rouge, and Silver has Blaze.
    -Player two can jump, fly/hover, kick, and Spindash.
    -Each character has a slower but stronger spin attack assigned to X, and a bomb throw assigned to Y.
    -Tails throws normal bombs, Rouge has stun bombs to incapacitate foes, and Blaze can throw a fireball for burning damage.
    Combining this, with bug fixes and some minor tweaks to the script, and SA2 style upgrades instead of gems, and you have what is, in my opinion, the perfect 3D Sonic game.

    - Open World Elements
    - Collect Emblems to enter different zones
    - 7 Chaos Emeralds hidden in different zones and hub worlds
    - More Playable characters
    - better writing and voice acting (Josh Keaton as Sonic)
    - More platforming and less speed boost
    - and most important of all, NEVER RUSH DEVELOPMENT

    Completely agree about the art style. Why Sonic Team insists on going down the realistic route is beyond me. Firstly, Sonic games require massive levels, which they're clearly struggling to build based on the amount of padding in pretty much every 3D game. Secondly, they're never going to be on the Pixar-esque level of Ratchet & Clank, so why not actually try and be the BEST at another art style?

    Oh yee I had ideas for a Sonic Adventure 3 (which I don’t want it to be made but it’s just an idea for how I think they should make it) cause I actually like the gameplay choices and levels and stuff so I’m keeping it as my own idk I just like the ideas I had in mind but I’m changing and fixing things also.
    Art-Style: This would have a very cartoony style like World Adventure games which is were I’d go with.
    Graphics: World Adventure maybe even better since it’s been like what 11 years so no I don’t want it to be as good it’s been so long it’s not an excuse I’m sorry.
    Voices: Similar to the Adventure cast voices cause idk I always like it but have Tails be voiced by a women who can sound like an 8 year old.
    Gameplay:
    Sonic The Hedgehog:
    Running - At first he starts Jogging for a second but then start running like in the Classic games.
    Jumping - He can Spin jump, and also spin jump on an enemy and destroy it.
    Homing-Attack - He can Homing-Attack on an enemy but now there’s a target on the enemy like in the more recent modern games so whatever he targets he Homing-Attack on it, like in a Fan-Game (Utopia) if he targets an enemy from a further distance, Sonic can gain momentum after hitting that enemy but if Sonic’s a bit closer to an enemy so you won’t really gain momentum or not as much.
    Spin-Dash - Improved Spin-Dash (keep pressing the spin-dash and he’ll gain more speed).
    Bounce-Attack - Bounce Attack it’s like a Bubble Shield from Sonic 3&K and Mania Plus.
    Light-Speed Dash - Light Speed Dash allows Sonic to dash through a trail of rings and sometimes can help lead him find hidden goodies or get to high path-way and also it’s a bit slower so if he can stop using the Light-Speed Dash and then Homing-Attack on enemies.
    Stomp & Slide - Sonic can stomp and slide like in the more modern games.
    Wall-Jump - can wall-jump on certain levels to either find hidden goodies or get to higher path-way.
    Also I removed the quick rolling with the fire aura & summersault because I felt they were a bit useless.
    Miles Tails Prower:
    Running - Like Sonic you at first Jog for a second but then start running but it’s not as fast as Sonic’s speed.
    Jumping - Spin jump, and also spin jump on an enemy and destroy it.
    Homing Attack -
    Stomp and Slide -
    Spin-Dash -
    Fly - Tails can use his tails to fly and also descent as well.
    Spin-Attack - Tails Spin-Attack which last as long when he had the rhythm badge.
    Knuckles The Echidna:
    Running - Like Sonic & Tails you at first Jog for a second but then start running but it’s not as fast as their speed.
    Jumping - Spin jump, and also spin jump on an enemy and destroy it.
    Homing Attack -
    Stomp and Slide -
    Spin-Dash -
    Glide and Climb -
    Digging - Dig into a wall or in the ground and would move around to upper punch an enemy or find an item like a piece of a Master Emerald.
    Breaking - He can break anything hard like metal boxes, crates or enemies shields.
    Underwater breathing - With a bracelet can breath underwater without the need for a Bubble Shield.
    Punching - punch and kick move but he can preform a triple attack which is punch, kick and Slam Wave Attack but it’s only on an enemy with a health bar.
    Drilling - He can also do a Drill Attack which will shoot them downwards but can now Drill Attack to through ground or wall and it help with the upper cut on the enemy.
    I removed the sunglasses
    Mighty The Armadillo:
    Running - Like everyone else he at first he starts Jogs for a second but then start running like in the Classic games but he’s slightly faster then Tails.
    Jumping - He can Spin jump, and also spin jump on an enemy and destroy it.
    Homing-Attack -
    Stomp and Slide -
    Spin-Dash -
    Ground-Pound - He can Ground-Pound on enemies or sections that can lead to a lower path of level (like in Mania Plus).
    Shell protection - Mighty’s shell can deflect the enemy projectile back to the enemy.
    Spike protection - In ball form he can protect himself from spikes but after bouncing on them once he’ll jump out of ball form and then get damaged by spikes.
    Ray The FlyingSquirrel:
    Running - Like everyone else he at first he starts Jogs for a second but then start running like in the Classic games but he’s slightly faster then Tails.
    Jumping - He can Spin jump, and also spin jump on an enemy and destroy it.
    Homing-Attack -
    Stomp and Slide -
    Spin-Dash -
    Glide - He can gain more momentum by going downwards and then flying upwards (like in Mania Plus).
    Amy Rose:
    Running - Like the others you at first Jog for a second but then start running but it’s not as fast as Sonic & Tails speed but she can run a bit faster then Knuckles but and almost as fast as Tails.
    Run-Dash/Hammer Spin - Amy can preform a Run-Dash, Hammer Spin Attack similar to the Super Banana Peel-out from Sonic CD.
    Homing-Attack - Homing Attack on enemies like everyone else also she uses her hammer.
    Stomp and Slide -
    Hammer Slam - Amy can preform a hammer attack, Amy can create a slam wave that can destroy other enemies nearby but not through a wall.
    Summersault -
    Cream & Cheese:
    Running - Like the others you at first Jog for a second but then start running but it’s not as fast as Sonic & Tails speed but she is the same speed as Amy.
    Jumping -
    Homing Attack -
    Stomp and Slide -
    Spin-Dash -
    Throw Cheese - She can throw Cheese at enemies
    Crouch & Crawl -
    Flying - She can fly with her ears, her flight can last as long as Tails can but can’t carry as much as Tails can since she’s smaller and younger.
    The Chaotix -
    Vector The Crocodile:
    Running - He starts jogging to then run and has the same speed as Knuckles.
    Jumping - Jumping - Jump in an enemie but can’t roll into a ball nor Spin-Dash.
    Punching - Just like Knuckles he can punch and kick move but he can preform a triple attack which is punch, kick and Slam Wave Attack but it’s only on an enemy with a health bar.
    Fire breath - he can melt enemies or breakable walls.
    Throwing - He can throw enemies at the wall or at another enemy.
    Homing-Attack -
    Stomp & Slide -
    Espio The Chameleon:
    Running - He can run like everyone else but is slightly faster then Tails.
    Camouflage - Camouflage for a half minute
    Throwing - throw a ninja knife
    Wall-jump
    - Homing-Attack
    Charmy Bee:
    Running - He can’t run he’s always on flight mode but can run as fast as Amy, Cream & Cheese
    Sting Attack - Use his stinger to hit enemies, and lift them and throw at another enemy.
    Homing-Attack -
    Throwing - Like Vector he can pick up enemies and throw at another or to a wall.
    Levels:
    - Level’s will have a great mix of plat-forming, speed and exploration.
    - Exploration a stage will lead you to hidden goodies like an Item Box which there’s Elemental Shields, Regular Green Shield (which this time can bounce the enemies projectile away like with the Elemental Shields), Life Boxes, Invincibility Box, Speed Boxes, 10 Ring Boxes.
    There hidden Easter Eggs like Big The Cat or Froggy.
    - The Grind Rails are more a little simpler as the rails go down you gain more speed and getting off of them can give you more speed, you can tilt the characters on the Grind Rails, and you switch to different Grind Rails like in the recent Modern games.
    - There sections for Knuckles, Amy and Eggman in their levels were they’ll be in a room and have to destroy multiple enemies and a big Robo boss that has a health bar.
    - Each level has different gimmicks like for example snow boarding, moving platforming, chemical bubbles or a motor boat.
    - Original zones no rehashing.
    - Original soundtrack direction be more like with SA1 and STHCD (environmental tracks).
    - Story would have a similar structure like with World Adventure and Heroes.

    To be honest what’s wrong with voice acting like the voice acting can at leasts be limited but overall I think the story doesn’t have to be complex and instead be simple and maybe the gameplay can be a mix of adventures and boosts along with tails and knuckles being optional to be played as

    What if... Sonic got the Breath of the wild treatment. Zelda = Puzzles. Sonic = Platforming. Having a sonic utopia style open world but with gold stage rings that would take you to an adventure, 2d and/or even a boost level. Similar to how BotW had Shrines to act as puzzle rooms that would either be a puzzle or combat challenge but you would also have puzzles and combat out in the world. The same could be for sonic but instead of puzzles and combat it could be one of the three sonic styles. Although I would prefer just adventure style levels having all three would please everyone.

    One idea I want to see is Sonic having 2 different stages and control styles. For example, Act 1 would be the Adventure Style gameplay with all 3D and open stage, spin dash, platforming, etc. and then Act 2 would be the Modern Boost Gameplay with 2D/3D. And then Act 3 would be tag team/Heroes stage where like 06 you play as another character by themselves or alongside Sonic and Shadow.

      I think splitting it like that just gives you way more points of failure with fans: If fans don't like any particular one of those act types, then you've lost that person. You're giving yourself THREE chances to ruin it for someone.

    Well, theres a few things wrong with this idea, first off the multiple choices sounds good on paper but Shadow The Hedgehog tried that and look how that turned out. They also the whole talking with other Mobians instead of humans thing in Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric and look how that turned out. Also the whole Sonic shut up system. We already have Classic Sonic for that, it would be bit way too off putting with a Modern Sonic game with no voice actings. Sonic Lost World did the whole cartoony look and that got mixed reviews. Also I doubt they going to throw someone from the Comics, because that's two different canons.

      I mean, I'm sure they could improve on the branching idea, but I think being able to play through different characters to see different parts or takes of the story is good enough. Could even have a "bad guys win" story.
      Turned out fine? Talking to humans vs talking to Mobians wasn't Sonic Boom problem. TBH, I like the two planet idea where you can have mostly Mobians on one and a mix on the the other. Gives them more room story and gameplay wise. I only wish they address that in game.
      I also agree, that no VA would be jarring. I guess they could do a no VA option.
      I'm pretty sure the game had mixed reviews for mostly other reasons, but yeah, I like the middle ground artstyle for sonic. Not too realistic and not too cartoony. That said, I don't mind some stages leaning more towards one than the other.

    My perfect Sonic game?
    - Fully 3D
    - Metroidvania
    - Non-linear, progression based on friends you find, like Rabi-Ribi or Ys VIII.
    - Sequence breaks, again, Rabi-Ribi style where it still doesn't break the story, but allows for finding friends in almost any order. 0% items should be possible.
    - Interesting story, that would be adjusted to non-linearity.
    - Scaled down, but still epic. I don't want another world adventure, I want something more interconnected.
    - Not TOO open to the point of being able to scale every wall. More Ys VIII than Zelda BotW, I want "metroidvania rooms" to still be there.
    - Timer would still be there, but it would count the entire game, not individual stages.
    - Rolling should add speed, Sonic Utopia style, but boost should still be there. There could be an automatically regenerating energy bar, like in 06 or Freedom Planet, which could be upgraded with items, both for length and speed of regeneration.
    - Drifting and side-stepping.
    - No bottomless pits aside from world boundary (water around the island?)
    - After completing the game, other characters would be unlocked as NG+. They would still have the same world, but slightly redesigned to their abilities, what would completely change the order of progression, like in Bunny Must Die.
    - Simpler art style to allow for longer game.
    - Speaking of length, 20 hours to find 100% items as one character should be fine for non-speedrun.
    - With map, which marks items you passed by (like Metroid Zero Mission).
    - Online multiplayer modes: co-op, competition, survival and race.
    * Co-op is kinda obvious.
    * In competition everyone has to collect as many items as possible, but if 1 character collects them, the others can't recollect them, but they could steal items in combat and using special items. Competition would have normal and veteran mode, normal would make easier getting to areas which require already collected items, veteran would require sequence breaks. There could be rules to end the round after someone finishes the game or after time limit.
    * Survival is like competition, but the goal is to kill all other players, who are gone after certain number of lives.
    * Race: Set the starting point. Set the end point. Gotta go fast. There could be arrrows which shows you a way, but only as suggestions.
    - A lot of great boss fights. No 2D and barely no autorunners.
    - Zero randomness, I don't want to screw speedrunners.
    - Online ranking for time in various categories, which would record input, what would allow for replays and cheating verification.
    - Fantastic music.
    - Crush 40.
    - Mod support with Steam Workshop. Mods would turn off ranking and multiplayer. Hedgehog Engine 2 dev tools would be publicly released.
    - And the most important, on PC.

    How to make the Perfect Sonic 3D game:
    -Adventure + Boost gameplay (06 stuff)
    You'd have the regular stages using Adventure gameplay, mechanics etc. A combination of Generations (Speed) and Forces (Air Boost) for the Mach Speed Sections.
    -Multiple Playable Characters
    Obviously. Shadow could be playable (cause everyone likes shadow) with his 06 gameplay which needs to be much more fleshed out (Chaos abilities, possibly adding combo/upgrade system etc). Tails could use the Avatar gameplay, while yes wisps will never be explained in a mainline Sonic game, people still use Runners as it canon and let's just not argue about it. He could also use his tails to replace the grappling hook. Silver could return with a fleshed out 06 gameplay such as giving him more speed and telekinetic abilities (better controls in general). The system can be identical to 06, where you switch between characters during a stage to add variety.
    -Good Plot
    While this is already determined by Sonic Team as they have said that they'll keep Forces as the base of future storylines (most likely meaning intricate and/or darker themes), they need to keep the tone of games like 06, Unleashed, and Forces. Intricate storyline, darker themes, heck even torture itself. Even though it wasn't well executed, Forces is probably the best example so far for a good story. This point also contains PROPER character development which Forces lacked almost completely.
    (Also please fucking fire Pontac and Graff)
    -Replay value
    Bring back Chao Garden. Easily. The. Best. Part. About. Adventure 1 & 2.
    Also Forces did good at replay value, but what it had in store for us wasn't really the best.
    -No Classic Sonic along with Modern Sonic/Any of the Modern Cast

    -No 2D, or just make a small percentage of the game 2D.
    Opinions. But the majority hates it.
    And there we have the perfect 3D Sonic game that can be enjoyable. Though for plot, I'd just say to build of the Phantom Ruby. It holds an infinite amount of potential to make said plot really good (basically your other chaos emerald with dimension warping properties). I'm pretty sure the Phantom Ruby saga is not done yet as Infinite still has his Phantom Ruby and flee'd on his own.

    most of what you said seems really good but I don't see sonic's voice is a problem ,it's the writing,but open world sonic is a much needed thing,Sonic Team really,really needs some who actually love the series as much as we do and understand what Sonic was. as for my idea for a game,Sonic Journey is a perfect name,the characters playable for it is Sonic, Tails,Knuckles,Amy,Shadow,Rouge,and Silver to start it off,as other characters are assists, Metal Sonic,the Deadly Six and Infinite will be written as better villains and as threats and bosses in the territories owned by Eggman. Eggman will also be capturing Sonic's friends using a Power he created using the a mysterious energy source he found while building his empire, as he is still a bit funny, the story reminds the player he's still a dark and threatening scientist while the New Infinite is someone else,maybe some one Sonic met in the past who once faught against Eggman which Sonic failed to save this person in an actual well written narrative, this failure is a major point why Infinite hates Sonic and remains loyal to Eggman,Infinite probably was as tough as sonic having similar abilities but after Eggman infused him/her with a portion of this new energy source lnfinite is at a much higher tier then Sonic and Shadow,mocking them believing with all their victories,they can never forget their failures, giving Sonic moments of weakness that he and his friends must overcome as Infinite is truly someone they can't save as he/she is truly loyal to the Eggman Empire, as Sonic and Co Defeat Infinite he/ she escapes with Eggman to fight another day teasing hints that maybe Infinite can be redeemed. everyone will play similar to sonic but have some differences,similar to sonic 3&K but well enough to give them all their own identity each area has some paths they can access the higher you are faster you can go, if you're persised medium path is normal with a good amount of obstacles to bypass ,lowest path is the hardest path with lots of enemies and obstacles ,then half way through the game it switches it up, all stages compliment every character and all the bosses are challenging and fun,all controlled to the character's abilities,everyone is important to the story and gameplay.

    writers - The ones you listed I agree on.
    Voiceless - God no, I absolutely hate reading text an entire game.
    Level - BIG, Multiple pathways, areas that require more effort.
    Open World - Always.
    Movement - The Achieve Speed System is a stretch.
    Super States - Not a bad idea.
    Other Characters - Saving them or whatever and then having them assist you is an amazing idea.
    All around I like your ideas though.

    if i were to make a sonic game, i would make the story like this:
    dr. eggman wants to build eggman land, together with an ancient evil being that he released from a temple. i know that sounds like the unleashed plot, but rather then it being a massiv mute creature, its a tall cloaked phantom thats always in eggmans lab with him, and interacting with him,often calling his machines out for being terrible ideas (i call him phanto btw). the special stages will also return in this game as original ones, and beating one grants you a chaos emerald. if you dont have all the chaos emeralds, the final boss will just be against eggman in a big and powerful mech (that is NOT a death egg robot for once) but if you get all the chaos emeralds, the final boss will be against Phanto, whos transformed into an all powerful state and sonic takes him on in his own super state. in the end, sonic's victories, Phanto is sealed away again, and its all around just you're everyday good ending.
    i know this story is not good but i think its far better then something like 06's story

    I can agree some bit. Thinking about how you can go for either recruiting Sonic's friends but that would offer Eggman time for collecting the Chaos Emeralds or getting the emeralds and go fight Eggman as Sonic alone with his Super form available.

    I honestly think Sonic Team can make a good game out of the exact style they've been going with since Unleashed if they just took one idea and built around it, and the idea is simple. If there's not a way for the player to control it, don't make Sonic do it. Can't make loops interactive? Get rid of them. Sonic can't make a jump without a jump pad? Shorten it. Turn is too tight and needs to be made too quick? Get rid of it. The amount of automated or just straight up superfluous shit in Forces' level design is unbelievable. Getting rid of that alone would VASTLY improve the experience. Everything else, like open level design, extra characters, exploration, hub worlds, etc, starts from that principle. It doesn't have to lack spectacle either. Just look at Mario Oddysey. Some of the most impressive jumps and set pieces I've seen in a video game are contained in that game, and they're all done under player control using Mario's natural athleticism.

      Maybe so. Still, although I am intrigued by the idea of removing the cast's voice actors, I still think it's with in the franchise's best interest to keep them, although you're totally right about it needing change. The role playing idea could still work with voice actors like with TellTale, but one thing is for sure, Sega needs to get sown the gameplay before taking other steps.

    Boost gameplay is working, and there's still room to improve on that formula, for example making Sonic controls fun.
    Also there must be more control given to the player, for example jumping from a slope and landing on a rail shouldn't be scripted, it would be more fun if I landed on that rail with my skills.

    My ideas
    3 storys. Sonic, tails, knuckles. All play similar and have their abilities from Sonic 3.
    Story- Eggman is trying to take over the world, stop him. Tails also gets robotisized partially, and has a new, stronger vengeance for Eggman. The trio all team up at the end. Amy, Shadow, Rouge, and Omega all make cameos.
    Game engine - new engine, based on the physics of the classics. Little to no speed boosters and no automation.
    Controls (Sonic)- like adventure 2, but slightly more stiff at high speeds so as to maintain control at high speeds. Momentum based, starts at slow speeds before making his way up to max speed. Speeds up drastically by running/rolling on declines, and vice versa. Boost is only an ocasianal power up, and no quikstep. Has a as the spindash (you must mash the button like in the classics, not like Adventure where you hold it), tap button to role, A super peal out (by holding button) and jumps carry momentum at high speeds. Bounce bracelet and light speed dash also return. Later in the game, sonic obtains a state board that allows his to gain momentum on declines much higher, and can grind on rails with it. The skateboard is never mandatory, only used to find alternate paths and be creative with the level design.
    Controls (tails) Sonic, but no peal out, and can fly like the classics, and shoot. He has been somewhat robotosized by Eggman. He has a mech arm, a mech leg, a mech ear. His stages revolve around flying, platforming, and shooting enemies. Imagine a mesh between SA1 tails and SA2 tails, a mechless tails that can lock on to multiple enemies and shoot.
    Gameplay (knuckles) - Like Sonic, but can't spindash, peal out, or homing attack, but can punch, glide, and drill dive. When you punch an enemy, your punch will slightly home in on them. Gameplay revolves around speed based platforming, but more platforming, little less speed. More combat based, but enemies only take one hit. Enemies will be an obstacle to your progression by firing projectiles and such. More methodical and puzzle based than Sonic.
    All characters can take advantage of elemental shields, bubble, fire, and electric. Sonic can use them to bounce, dash, or double jump, Tails and Knuckles can not.
    Level themes
    Angel Island
    Act 1: Volcanic Jungle - part of Angel Island that is lush, and volcanic.
    Act 2: Island Resort.- The humans have built hotels on Angel Island, turning it into a tourist attraction, much to the dismay of Knuckles.
    Level 2 - submarine base. An underwater base Eggman built that is one of his many bases of operation.
    Act 1: prison base - dark, grey prison.
    Act 2: Aquatic base - glass walls, beautiful view of fish and ocean
    Level 3:Pirate Ship Bay- giant pirate ship built by Eggman. You go through interior, and exterior of spooky looking ship. ( I'm gonna stop describing act 2 and 2, thus is too much typing lol)
    Level 4: Sanfransisco: Skate park level for Sonic, and the remaining act has all characters running through city.
    Level 5: Sandopolis: The humans have turned Sandopolis into a city. Act one had you go through an Arabic inspired town with prymands in the background, and purple sky. act 2 has you go through the interior and exterior of pyramids.
    Those are all of the level themed I could think of, and I am tired and sick of typing. Pls tell me what you thought though. Goodnight

    What about a fighting game with knuckles? It could be open world. You could fight giant bosses. Have partners with different abilities like tails or sonic.

    My idea of a perfect Sonic game...
    Ditch the "power of friendship" thing that totally hasn't been done to death. I think a story is strong enough with just Sonic vs Eggman. If Sonic's friends had to be in the game, I'd prefer they weren't part of the main plot and just have it where you can build relationships with them. Or maybe they can have their own individual episode that doesn't tie in with the main story.
    Going from stage to stage really has to go. The Mario franchise moved on from it ever since the N64. Maybe have huge non linear environments which start out lifeless until you meet NPCs and solve their problems. (Sonic is about helping people after all) As you do that and take care of some of the main story, the environment will have more critters and people. Until you're done, next world.
    Chao Garden since that so much people want it. I personally don't care about Chao Garden, but a way to make it interesting is to raise Chaos and you can have them follow you around and give you certain buffs.
    About art style, I like it if it'd turn out cell-shaded, or if it were Sonic Unleashed. But NOT in between because I hate Sonic Forces art style.I also think they need to re-design Sonic because I'm tired of looking at the same render of the Model Sonic model over and over again. It doesn't need to be a dramatic change like Sonic Boom, but just so that he looks more animated.
    I also think it should have good and memorable cinematics that shows the relationship between Sonic and Eggman And/or Sonic's friends. That being said, people seem to think that a good story can't co exist with good gameplay, it's possible. Moving on.
    Also, this Sonic game should appeal to more adults because honestly, the only people who remember Sonic are adults so even as a marketing tool, Sonic should appeal to a more mature audience. Now I know what you're thinking. I'm not saying Shadow the Hedgehog 2. I'm talking along the lines of what Ubisoft does.Sonic IS a teenager after all so I don't want them to be afraid to cross the line with any jokes.
    And that is what my dream Sonic game would look like. It would probably never happen in billion years when Sonic is long dead. Seriously, Iizuka needs to be fired, cause he is so out of touch with what the fans want. Aaron Webber says they talk to the devs about what fans are saying. Either thats a lie, or he's listening to the wrong people.

    Me personally, all I want is for a 3d sonic game to hit all of the five pillars of what made classic sonic work: momentum based physics, speed, precision platforming, stage memorization, and skill. I think that's what made classic sonic work, but no 3d sonic game has all of these qualities. The adventure games almost got it right, with good momentum, stage memorization, platforming and skill, but going fast was way too twitchy. The boost games got the speed and memorization right, but failed at momentum and skill (at the end, you're just memorizing where things are and holding a button, there's no depth).
    Adventure gets everything but speed right, whereas boost does speed well enough to match adventure but the downsides bog the game down: in adventure, going fast is too twitchy, in boost, going slow for precise platforming is bogged down by the relative unresponsiveness and absurd speed. In adventure there's not much fun in going really fast, in boost there's no effort in getting to that speed. What I think would work, is using adventure controls, but as you go faster and faster the controls get less responsive to accommodate, eventually getting to the point where you gain the boost.
    That way, momentum and precise platforming works when your playing "adventure", while stage memorization, skill, and speed are provided in going super fast. There is effort involved in going fast (what boost is lacking), and there is fun in going fast (what adventure lacked). You memorize a stage and make use of momentum to go as fast as possible, and it gets rewarded with fast boost gameplay. The only problem is how you would design a stage around this, so I would probably give certain stages an upper path that you need to be clever to get to, which would accommodate boost, while the rest uses adventure. Other stages could use either boost alone, or adventure alone. That way we have an entire game based around the "sonic" gameplay, that keeps variety, and rewards skill.

      Yeah, that idea works, but I think you were complicating it a bit too much. All I'm thinking is that as you increase speed you get less responsive (as you said), but you wouldn't need any assistance from the environment to do that. It REALLY complicates the design when you have all of those factors being thrown at you. Instead simply running will get you through to the boost, but running down a steep mountain would just increase the acceleration and therefore how fast you do that. You have adventure style purely until you go extremely fast, and once your fast only then do you get the boost. Going more slowly you don't need the boost, the spin dash would be good enough for quick bursts. In a straight line it would take like 5-10 seconds to get the boost, no ridiculous amounts of acceleration required, but they help.

    I reached the same idea as the assist idea but have it more like Sonic Advance 3 where you can choose the main character and then the partner. This could be like Sonic Heroes but without one of the types so we would need to replay to get to the other paths. There might also be a move customization like having an air boost, Insta-shield, double jump, stomp, homing attack, or drop dash be Sonic's default action in the air.

    Okay, So i've seen a lot of comments,
    Pretty much asking me to change my mind about what I think would be a perfect sonic game...
    My answer is:
    No, but I appreciate your ideas, i'm not saying your ideas wouldn't be cool to see aswell.
    These are the ideas I would like to see based on my experiences with every 3D sonic game.
    (Maybe I should add 3D to the title, because I think Mania is already perfect.)
    So let me know what your ideas for the perfect 3D sonic game would be, and don't try to change eachothers minds, please. Just talk it over, no judging.
    This is about a game, not the person.

      If this was an *Actual* issue, the like dislike ratio would look a lot different.
      You're in the minority in this - So no, I don't take this seriously as it isn't a real issue.
      If it was split 50/50 i'd start to wonder what exactly I said wrong.
      But in this case, you're thinking too much into a Sonic idea, I don't even take my own videos seriously, I work hard on them, But I don't hinge on their "success".
      I get your issues, but they're just your and a select few. Not enough frequent criticism like yours to become apparent.
      Most comments just disagree with certain parts, not my entire personality. Jeez, I'm really not making videos to get *that* kind of feedback on who I am.

    My ideas would be: A Sonic collecta-thon featuring theClassic Sonic cast, it's a fully 3D Sonic game but plays like a 2D Sonic game with your usual collect a thon elements, an Open enough World, many collect a thons wich are Rings like the Music Notes from Banjo-Kazooie, the Coins from SM64 and the gems from Spyro, wich give you a Mega Ring if you collect 100, the Animal Friends wich are Flicky, Ricky, Pocky, Rocky, Cucky, Pecky and finally Picky, wich ar elike the Jinjos/Red Coins from Banjo Kazooie or SM64, the Mega Rings, the main collectable like the Power Stars from SM64, Jiggies from Banjo-Kazooie or the Dragon eggs from Spyro, and also power ups like the Flame Shield that gives you an Air Dash, the Electric Shield that gives you a Double Jump, the Water Shield that gives you a Stomp-Bounce ability and the Invincibility Shield that gives you Invincibility.
    The Levels would be
    Green Hill Zone (Zone 1)
    Labyrinth Zone (Zone 6)
    Casino Night Zone (Zone 2)
    Oil Ocean (Zone 7)
    Sandopolis Zone (Zone 3)
    Ice Cap (Zone 8)
    Wacky Workbench Zone (Past) (Zone 9)
    Stardust Speedway Zone (Past) (Zone 4)
    Amazing Arena Zone complete with darkness (Zone 10)
    Botanic Base Zone (Zone 5)
    Eggmanland Zone (Zone 11)
    Each having 10 Mega Rings, except for Amazing Arena wich only has 48 and Eggmanland wich only has 2 making the total of 90 Mega Rings, Adding in 11 more if you count the Animal Friend missions and the last one you get after beating the last boss, and there's also Major Boss Zones with no mega rings, wich are like the equvalent of the Bowser courses in SM64.

    The story would be:
    It was night, everyone was sleeping until a meteor fell, wich contained a huuge Mega Ring wich Eggman discovered and wanted to use to create Eggmanland, however, some Space pirates also came for the Mega Ring wanting to get it from Eggman but he denied, after a fight, the Ring fell down into Eggman's robot scrapper and detsroyed it turning it into 101 pieces, next morning, Sonic, Tails and Amy where running arround at Green Hill, while Knucles was guarding the Emerald like usual but then, an Earthquake happens and Eggman comes up the ground with the core piece and explains that he wants to use it to build Eggmanand, wich he did, so he calls Knuckles for help, after a tutorial Boss Fight, Sonic wins and our 4 Heroes go to battle aganist Eggman.

      Playable characters:
      You can alternate characters during gameplay, but only in certain spots, the characters are:
      Sonic: he is really fast, can Roll, Spindash, Homming Attack (going trough the Generations 3DS route by giving Classic Sonic the Homming attack, but since this is in 3D it's perdonable), and Double Jump, However he's somewhat tall to enter small Spaces
      Tails: He's slower than Sonic but can Fly, Attack with his Tails, and roll, but can't spindash or rol, but can crouch and due to being small he can enter small spaces by doing so
      Knuckles: he's slower than Tails but more powerfull than Sonic & Tails together, he can Punch, glide, Climb certain walls, Spindash, he can also break walls and find new paths.
      Amy: he's slower than everyone else, but can go fast thanks to his hammer, and also he's stronger than Knuckles also thanks to that hammer, (in resume, it's like if you were playing as Mario) can activate switches tho.
      THe 4 characters have upgrades like in the Adventure games, like:
      Sonic's Upgardes:
      Triple Jump
      Light Speed Dash
      Light Speed Attack
      Fire Summersault/Homming Attack
      Touch a Mistic Melody that alows to awaken one of the bosses
      Tails' Upgrades:
      Fly Faster
      Endless Consecutive Tail Attacks
      Get on the Mecha Tornado
      Knuckles' Upgrades:
      Dig
      More powerfull Punches
      Break Super Solid Steel Boxes

    You’ve got a pretty good mindset about the game, but I would advise really visualizing playing through a level where the scenery changes color based on speed. It would probably be a little too disorienting to enjoy. Maybe the speed could be displayed on a bar at the bottom of the screen, like in unleashed.

    I 100% agree with you on the modern Sonic aesthetic is completely not Sonic. However, I respectfully disagree with your opinion that ... honestly anything about Frontiers is promising. I know a lot of people have opined that "Sonic in an open world would be so cool" but ... not every franchise works with that genre. I admittedly am not a fan of open world games in the first place, but can admit some franchises can be dropped smoothly into that environment, while others absolutely cannot. Zelda ... sure. My experiences in the past trying to play that always devolved into pointless wandering to begin with haha. Sonic? Not so much. I've seen demos of 3D open world Sonic games and ... it just doesn't work.
    However, my biggest issue with it is the absolutely horrible aesthetic which is yet again completely not Sonic. It looks like someone dropped the glitchy old build of Hedge Physics into a cheap Breath of the Wild clone map they bought off the Unity asset store. It's dead ass gross IMO.

    lol "If those guys from Guilty Gear could just lend their engine to the guys at Sonic Team."
    The engine is the Unreal 4 Engine. Sonic 06 was developed and powered by Unreal 3.
    The Hedgehog Engine is more than capable of producing stylistic cel-shaded visuals. The question is if Sonic Team or Sega for that matter, is actually interested in producing new and original assets to dedicate to a Sonic game.
    The reason I say this is that the combination of Lost World, Boom, and Forces, proves to me that Sonic is no longer a focus of quality brand for Sega, but just a potential merchandising powerhouse.

    I actually agree with a lot of the points made in this video, but I think ultimately, just for the next game, we need to strip things back to the basics and make the 3D follow-up to S3&K that Adventure was, but with the better hardware we have now. That definitely means no open world. While I would like to see Sonic done open world, there are a hell of a lot of people that wouldn't, and as Sonic's always been A-B level by level progression, I think this is justified.
    Sonic Utopia is the best proof of concept we have for 3D Sonic right now, but its level design is the missing piece of the puzzle. If the developers can figure that out for the next build, I think we'll pretty much have the answer.

      It's true, sonic tends to work better in a "A-B" format, but the need to have a proper open world in a sonic title, is debatable .
      Consider Tony Hawk pro skater, it introduced the best skating games in a small environment.
      While Skate expanded on that foundation and made everything seamless while still being innovative. If the controls of sonic colors can be translated into an actual open 3D world, but tuned to work properly in that open world, and With the environment being more important, it could be a different kind of good sonic format.
      It seems more natural for it to expand.

      Christopher Toro I agree, I think Sonic's abilities would lend themselves well to the traversal of a massive open world. I think the feeling of complete freedom in Utopia is proof of this. However, this should only be attempted once someone has managed to create a great linear 3D Sonic game first. Only then does it make sense to experiment to such a great extent.

    Boss battles are actually intimidating.

    Chaos & Perfect Chaos Boss Fight!
    And much more!
    1. Eggman is flying above the city question his defeats by Sonic, He hears sounds in the sky and sees a portal open up that shoots out the stone with a glimer. Eggman knows its out of their world obviously. He takes it back to his hideout to study on it.
    2. It includes the same intro to the game.
    3. When Sonic meets Infinite for the first time. Infinite seems a bit more angerier and actually develops a revenge against Sonic and references his Backstory a bit. A better backstory. Sonic gets a beating by them all and it shows extra scenes of the enemies terrorising the citizens by trying to shoot at them. And shows the scene of your OC's cutscene.
    4. When tails is trying to work on Omega, Chaos appears and Classic Sonic gets into an actual Boss fight. Tails is surprised, and references Generations insted of Mania. (By the way they were referencing Mania by saying "Your that Sonic from another DIMENSION aren't you!"
    5. You work on your OC and there is a skillset, more options (Aka Hair, Gloves, shoes, coloring, extra hair, eye color, and you can make they more than almost alike. Insted of the way Forces does it.)
    6. The Boss Sonic goes against has 2 forms, and is actually challenging (aka that deadly 6 guy.)
    7. You go into a level with you and the avatar. (Also some of the new levels, there is 60 in total for the normals game and there would be 20 in total for Shadows part. Because I am tired of modern sonic games that are short. And at least 10 of the 60 levels will be Sonic, Avatar, and Classic Sonic. For it to be an actual Adventure of saving the world. . . Like how we thought it'd be in the trailer. . .)
    8. Sonic and the team actually includes the Chaos emeralds into the story. And try to set up a plan. But they'd have to blow up the death egg first before doing so. (Because the Death Egg is more intimidating, it has a very big source of energy. So they'd have to blow that up before finding the Emeralds so that they can't be tracked while searching.)
    9. They blow up the death egg and start the seach. Once they find 1 emerald, they're surprised by Infinite to try and swipe it. You fight Infinite, and Infinite snags the emerald.
    10. The avatar is on his own and stumbles upon a chaos emerald but is faced to face with the Shadow clone. Who is as strong as the real Shadow but doesn't have an emerald on him. Or his ring inhibitors. (Whatever they're called.) You do a mini fight. And you get the emerald and take it back.
    11. They get readings that Metal Sonic is destroying the City. So they're primary goal becomes finding, and destroying Metal. They destroy Metal and he disappears. They get readings by the chaos emerald inside of the base that another is near. So the three heros are sent to go find it. They find it and are faced against Zavok (Remembered his name. . . I think?) Sonic questions to himself if he actually was destroyed in the death egg or not. They defeat Zavok and stumble upon a chaos emerald. A clone of Chaos appears to snag its energy to become Chaos 1. (That specific Chaos clone.)
    12. They head to the (Futuristic City place) to go after Eggman and Infinite. They end up coming across Zavok again. And they all start getting confused (All exept Zavok of course.) But he falls from the surface he is standing on being crumbled into pieces.
    13. The futuristic city place ends up faling apart (At least the area they're at) so they end up running out of there. And they discover one of Eggmans areas is in the jungle. Classic Sonic does his work and succeeds. Sonic does his work but then comes across Infinite and Silver. Sonic goes up against Infinite again. And he wins but flys back because of him. The Rookie (Finally remembered what he is being called by.) stumbles upon a fragment of the phantom ruby. (Prototype ruby. . . Whatever its called. . .)
    14. The team finds another Chaos emerald. But is then greeted by Chaos 1. Classic Sonic ends up defeating him. But Chaos 1 doesnt dissappear. He ends up turning into a puddle and swooshing himself away. They grab the 2 emeralds. (Since they got the one they were originally looking for. And got the one from Chaos that he originally took from before.) And get a total of 3 chaos emeralds.
    15. They figure out that they can trace Infinite from the chaos emerald he took. Once they find him, he ends up saying. "The Doctor really is making a fool out of himself. . . I have the strength of infinitey. . . Go back hiding away from the rest of your puny little gem friends. . ." He ends up tossing it, and the gang takes it but by their suprise Infinite notices and he starts a fight with the Rookie in the jungle. The Rookie ends up beating him with the power of the Phantom Ruby Prototype. Infinite ends up flying away saying. "You won't be so lucky the next time we meet. I will make sure to end that luck of yours. . ."
    16. They take the chaos emerald and get orders from Knuckles to find the next. They are greeted again by Chaos 1 and he swipes them all quickly before disappearing. The groups ends up being worried if Eggman really is going to win. The gang finds joy of another chaos emerald. Chaos is about to snatch it but the gang surprise attacks him. And each of them damage him at least once (Boss Battle by the way.) and they take the emeralds back. And notice that Chaos has already absorbed the energy after the fight. And he transforms into Chaos 4. Chaos 4 dissappears and then the team heads back. Classic Sonic and the Rookie are sent on their own missions while Sonic finds a Shadow clone and thinks its the real Shadow. The Shadow clone is about to round house kick Sonic but the real Shadow appears using Chaos Control to take him out. Shadow explains everything to Sonic and then Shadow hands Sonic a chaos emerald he has been holding onto ever since he was gone. Sonic and Shadow return to the base and they hand the chaos emerald to Knuckles and their total ends up being 5.
    17. They're then surprised to figure out that Eggman has 2 chaos emeralds. The team is shocked and they try to invaid his base but are surprised by Infinite. Infinite goes against the Rookie. The Rookie succeeds and then they all get out of that area. They end up having to help the soliders and try to find Eggman. But they are then Surprised by infinite again. Infinite transports them all (Sonic, Classic Sonic, And the Rookie to nullspace.) They figure out that their only escape is to quickly reach the infinite light infront of them. But they also figure that the ground under them is moving while they are. Their only option is to keep moving. They know that moving at a normal speed won't do them good. They have to combind their speed together to form the ultimate amount of speed. They tripple boost out of nullspace to figure out that the Future City place is clappsing. They end up reaching Eggman as he is about to leave. The Rookie then slashes his Eggmobile with his Lightning Whip. The Eggmobile ends up crashing. They then have to head to Eggmans base to destroy the Phantom Ruby generator. The Rookie ends up being targeted by a giant mech spider/crab thingy. (An ACTUAL boss fight. He ends up defeating it as he then heads off again to the Base.
    18. The team re-groups and is sent to destroy the Phantom Ruby generator. They succeed and they are interupted by them hearing sounds on their Mics. And they hear that their own base is getting torn apart. They have to end up going back. They go back and notice a huge amount of damage. Eggman has stolen the rest of the chaos emerads. They know that it is over. . . Until Knuckles states. "That Infinity creep sure hungers for more energy. But he should know that those emeralds don't have the amount of energy of infinity. But I do. . . Our only option is to rely on the Master Emerald. . . If we can get the Master Emerald. We can stop the chaos emeralds before they get the chance to use them. . . This is our primary objective team!"
    19. Tails and Classic Sonic find Eggman and Infinite at Green Hill. They hear their conversation of what will happen. They wait till Infinite is gone so that it can be a fair fight. Classic Sonic and Tails jump out to surprise Eggman. They end up giving him the surprise. Classic Sonic defeats Eggmans easy fight. Until Eggman returns the surprise. . . And gets rid of the fair fight by taking out the Eggdragoon. Classic Sonic ends up defeating it as it crashes down. Tails takes Classic Sonic down to investigate. They end up seeing Eggman in a busted pile of Robot Parts as always. . . He talks about what will happen. To their surprise the Eggmobile works again as he flies out of the parts not discussing his Ultimate Plan.
    20. Tails warns Sonic and the team about the plan. They act fast as Knuckles brings back the Master Emerald. He stops the chaos emeralds using the power of the master emerald. They continue their journey. They all think its time to put a stop to this game that has been going on.
    21. They end up reaching Eggmans hideout as the gigantic machine towers above them all and all the citizens. (Don't know why in the actual game they could of went there earlier since its a gigantic machine obviously belonging to Eggman. . .) Classic Sonic does his job to take out part of it. But to their surprise they figure out that the Machine is still running. . . They all notice that the Machine is creaing a force away from the earth but close to the Sun to drag the Sun down closer to the earth. But they figure out that Eggman has stolen the Master Emerald. . . To be Continued.

      22. They all finally notice there is no way to stop it. . . As they all gaze up staring at the sky. . . As the rest of them are still fighting for their freedom. . . Tails tells the rookie that he is has the power to shutting down the Machine. The Machine takes out a gigantic cannon that will shoot into the Sun using the Master Emeralds power to destroy the Sun causing a gigantic Explosion that will destroy the earth. . . and so. . . so much more. . . The Rookie then rushes up to the top to shut down the Machine. He succeeds and finds Sonic. Sonic cheers for him but Infinite rains on their parade. . . He ends up using up all his power to show them the World he sees in his own eyes. . . An infinite, horrifying, catastrophic Nightmare.
      23. They start their fight with infinite as their running down an infinite road that Infinite is using to taunt them with as he is destroying their planet using his power. Sonic and the Rookie combind their speed to double boost so that they can move faster to reach up with Infinite to deal the final blow. . . Infinite ends up having his powers taken. His strongest powers end up glitching away as he becomes a glitch in their world. As then becoming a new enemy of Sonic and his friends. (He does stay in their world in the actual game by the way. . . WHICH IS AWESOME!)
      24. As Sonic, Tails, Classic Sonic and the Rookie greet eachother to finish off destroying the Machine. Eggman surprises them as he already has shut it down. To think of a new idea of having the Master Emerald as a power supply and the Phantom Ruby to rule his own Dimension. He uses his biggest and strongest weapon yet. The prototype of the Death Egg Robot.
      25. Classic Sonic splits up with Sonic and the Rookie to deal damage to his side of the Robot. The Robot targets Classic Sonic as Classic Sonic is busy returning the favor of launching boulders at the Robot. . . The Robot doesn't give up as Classic Sonic doesn't give up either. Classic Sonic ends up destroying the Robots Torso. And the Robot falls to the lower level.
      26. The Rookie finds himself face to face with the Robot himself. As he remembers that he cannot be hiding from his fear. He ends up rushing towards the Robot as the Robot now can fire a very powerful beam at the Platforms the Rookie is on to destroy them. The Robot keeps on trying to smash The Rookies only chance of survival which is standing on the Platforms. He keeps destroying the Platforms as The Rookie keeps trying to destroy the Robot. Finally the Rookie Succeeds. And they all end up re-uniting into one group. But to their surprise.
      27. Rain pours down as the remaining platforms are then floating onto a big ocean. It fills up the bowl shaped area as another enemy takes a turn. (I honestly forgot I mentioned how there would be a Perfect Chaos Boss Fight)
      Perfect Chaos rises out of the water as his eyes open up wide. Sonic tells them how his weakspot is his brain on the top of the giant Water Monster. As Eggman is planning his next strategy. Perfect Chaos is tring to finish off Sonic by becoming his Worst Nightmare. . . Which is the fact he cannot swim. . . Perfect Chaos keeps slashing the platforms creating giant waves that then end up separating each platform from each other. Giant Tornados end up forming from the waves that Perfect Chaos is creating. Then finally they all combind their speed to tripple boost up to Perfect Chaos. With enough power, and enough speed, they destroy Perfect Chaos once and for all. As he sinks back into the water. He disolves as the water ends up flowing down and being consumed by al the dry dirt and such under. They fall down onto the dirt. They all end up cheering as the crowd behind them cheers. But then. . .
      28. Eggman flies towards them with the DeathEgg Robot. . . But it crashes down. . . They are curious of whats going on. He explains to them that this isn't over. . . He was just getting warmed up. . . Then they hear the Glass Shattering. . . As the crowd behind them all start being pushed around by the bigger amount of enemies created by the power of the Phantom Ruby. Tails notices that it is an invulnerable ruby. As Sonic, Classic Sonic and The Rookie end up being swallowed by the stronger form of Nullspace. They end up running on a never ending platform. . . As their hope dissappears. They find the chaos emeralds floating around with them. . . And the Master Emerald. The Master Emerald hovers above them as the chaos emeralds keep spinning around them very fast. They all transform into Hyper Form at the perfect time as the platform dissappears and rings appear. They have to keep zooming forward together dodging projectiles, glitches, Worm Holes, Black Holes, And such. . . Eggman finally ripped through space and time to create a paradox that only the 3 heros can fix. As they're in their strongest form and Eggman also is. They're all battling it out in the finish. In the Final. . . As they figure out that when your down. . . Then the only way is up. The 3 heros combind their speed, strenght, and determination to keep moving forward. They tripple boost into the core of the horrific Robotic God. And they bust through it. Destroying the Phantom Ruby. And they all end up being sent back by the Chaos Emeralds. As Eggman remains. . . In the infinite loop by himself. . .
      29. The citizens all still fighting back. Noticing that all the enemies of their enemy are dissappearing. They all are surprised of the big battle that was happening. . . that was finishing. . . that ended up finishing. . . They all cheer. And pick eachother up. Cheering "WE DID IT!" "Are you alright? Yes! YAHOO WE DID IT!" Hugging eachother and cheering to eachother. Noticing that the battle was Finally Over. . .
      30. The Team of Heros surround the one member of their team. Tails standing infront of Classic Sonic saying to him. "I guess this is goodbye. . . It was a plessure working with you to help save our world. . . even all the dimensions there could possibly be. . .Please promise me. . . Promise us all. . . That you'll return safe. . . Tails then fist bumps Classic Sonic. As Classic Sonic fades and gives a thumbs up to Tails waving good bye. . . Tails trys to rush up and Hug him before he left. . . But he tumbles over as Sonic helps him up and says. "Cheer up buddy. . . I am sure we will Run into him again. . ." "Well everyone. . . This is it. . . We finally won. . . But its not over yet. We need to clean up this place. . . This world. . . And I am not talking about those Robots and stuff. We need to fix the Real World we all live in. . . Whos with me!" They'd all cheer as Tails states. ". . . You have a good point! Lets fix this place up together!!!" (Insted of true dat. . )
      31. Knuckles says to everyone that they can all go home and how their isn't realy no need for the resistance anymore. . . The Rookie tells Knuckles that he is leaving. Knuckles tell him that he is surprised on how he is leaving but cannot stop him since its his choice and they all thank him as he exits out the door. . . As The Rookie sees Sonic. Sonic speaks to him. . . "Heh. . . You heading off too? . . . Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Just wanna take a break, wanna run fast. . . Through grassy fields. . . Watching the sunset without having to worry about a single trouble. . . Hopefully we cross paths again. . . It was nice getting to know you and team up with you. . . Thanks for helping us, we wouldn't of been here. . . Standing, breathing, and much more without you. . ." Sonic would Fist Bump The Rookie as he runs off and ends up Boosting off. . . The Rookie would watch the sunset. . . Then staring down. . . He would look back up to run off and grapple the nearest object above him. He'd then end up leaving. . . Never being forgotten for what he has helped done. . .
      The End
      (Thanks for Reading this too, hopefully you were interested in some changes. Some things I said up in the top like how Shadow would get more Levels and Infinite would have a better back story I didn't add in because this was more focused on the main story. But a Good Backstory for Infinite would be how he was bullied as a child and would always be shoved around being made fun of. Which is why he joined Eggmans side so that he can seek revenge on those who bullied him. He sees Shadow and tries to beat Shadow as he is surprised by all Shadows moves. Shadow round house kicks him calling him weak. Which brings back memories of Infinites past of him being called weak. He would yell "I AM NOT WEAK!" from having to relive those memories. . . Thats just the way of how I would think of his Backstory just like in his theme which is very cool. Thanks for reading.)

    Sonic team should try and make a serious story again, like forces, but blend comedy with it. Let some writers of the Sonic Boom TV show come in and write the jokes, (as much as you may hate to agree, Sonic Boom can be really funny) and the writers from adventure 2 handle the serious part. If they are blended well, it will make a serious story with lighthearted jokes to keep it from getting too dark. The music for forces is damn near perfect. Tomoya Ohtani did a fantastic job with the modern and custom hero music, ESPECIALLY the boss battle and shadow remixes.The way modern sonic controls well in Forces, just little tweaks to fix him for the next game. The teams doing the level design messed up though (I'm thinking too many of the ideas from colors and generations clashed) so I think the team from generations should be the main level designers and the stages need to be 2 minutes, at the least. Finally, the voice actors. Everyone was perfect!....except for sonic. While everyone is serious, sonic is just too carefree in his voice. Roger Craig Smith is doing fine, but it just seems like he doesn't know how to separate from Boom Sonic. He just needs to be able to make Sonic sound more NOT sonic-boomish. I think that would make a pretty good sonic game, in my opinion. Just don't ever bring back classic sonic again, we're sick of him.

    Call me crazy, but I think some elements from 3D Blast's gameplay (specifically the revised GameHut version) could be implemented into the physics, namely the way Sonic builds momentum. I also think Sega should take notes from Mario Odyssey with the way Mario rolls over hills in that game. I'd love to see something inbetween the Adventure and Parkour system fully realized and put to proper use. Storywise, I think Sonic should be serious when he needs to be, but also fun and lighthearted. Not too much of one over the other. Also a free-moving camera for the love of god

    Let's make this shit simple because you're listing most things they already tried. Take some elements from other Sonic games and make something out of it.
    Sonic Adventure (1&2): Chao world, upgrades, multiple characters to play, different stories that lead to the same final boss, A rank to get unlockables, emblems to get unlockables.
    Sonic Heroes: Switching between characters to get through puzzles, wall jumping, special stage.
    Sonic Forces: Awesome theme songs, decent visual, boost system.
    Sonic Unleashed: Open world, movement speed, stat leveling, NPC quest.
    Sonic 06: Store bought unlockables, mach speed section, multiple acts of the same stage location for longer levels and shit.
    Some other shit that I don't feel like listing. But that's all Sega needs to do.
    2D sections are awesome in the 3D game, but it do get annoying when it's takes a lot from the 3D sections.

    I think most of the 3d sonic games would be 10x better if their levels weren't designed around bottomless pits all the time. People enjoyed the classic games a lot more because they rarely had bottomless pits excluding the final stages which works better for a fast platformer like sonic where your less precise platforming skills won't cost you a life all the damn time. Imagine how much worse the classic games would be if every stage had lots of bottomless pits.

    I don't think a realistic look is a bad problem. Just as long as Sonic's world is more like Final Fantasy. Sonic's world might be very stylized, but it has enough realistic elements to make it feel grounded and believable. Compared to something like Mario. Also I don't think they should get rid of dialogue. They just need better actors and writers.

    There are a few problems with your ideas:
    First of all,Sonic isn't an extension of the player's will. He's an actual character with a developed personality. The only way this could work is through an avatar system like in Forces.
    A branching story sounds good on paper, but I don't see it working out. Only one of the branches can be canon, and in that case what's the point of having other branches? Nobody wants to play through a non-canon "what if" story!
    It's true that Sonic Team comes up with a lot of ideas, but maybe they should choose a single idea to work with for each game and save the rest for later.
    I don't see what's so bad about voice acting. Anyway, it's out of character for Sonic to be silent. Nobody with his kind of energy could be anything but super talkative!
    I like the idea of Sonic having to rescue other characters, but they should be fully playable instead of just providing assistance.

    I rather have Archie Comics writers for Sonic and make a three part story-line for Sonic while starting out fresh. Start out with the destruction of Kingdom of Acorn and the Freedom Fighters leading up to the a big finale with Chaos. Each trilogy could be for each the big bads who pose a significant threat to Freedom Fighters. All kingdoms, relations between kingdoms, tribes, etc, etc... need to be included in the games to provide depth and story. With Archie comics, there is decades of story-telling involved that would give Sega its stable ground. What Sega lacked was a formula and story-line that extended past Sonic beating Eggman. The world of Sonic The Hedgehog Archie Comics should be realized.

    I would like a game where sonic and friends (lol) can g et t elemental powers that change their appearance and abilities, the elements would be: fire, water, earth, wind, and electricity. And you could choose before levels which element you would want to be. (You can switch in certain parts of levels to get past bits, and also you would have to unlock the elements throughout the story) it would be really cool to see! Edit: it would also transition between 2d and 3d depending on the level, it wouldn't change mid level. Idk wut the story would be.

    Hub worlds would definitely be needed in the next game at the very least, although the whole achieve speed thing while a great idea to at the very last make the game longer and have more playability. It sounds kinda complicated to me but what do I know. Also I kinda had a different idea in mind for sonic and his friends basically we'd have like in the adventure games different stories where each one had a specific gameplay style. tails story would be basically an open space starship fighter kinda game you know. and amy's would be all 2d gameplay but with the added gimmick of her hammer. and knuckles and the chaotix would be the kinda 3d action adventure kinda game like skylanders or sonic boom you like that

    Alright, I'd make sonic free roaming the best free roaming, custom character included.
    I'd make the custom character have more abilites instead of not having clothing so i'd just put the best clothing there
    There would be a unit some sort, detective unit, (there mostly teams) alpha unit, beta unit, you could rank up to the best units if you grind or some sort. the max rank would be Assassin Unit.
    Main Ranks - Assasin, Detective, Police Force, Alpha Force,
    The storymode would be dark, But when you get towards the end it get's light.
    You're custom character would have it's own specials weapons it depends what unit you're in assasin unit would be hardcore police tranings would be easy. and detective would get mid rank trainings.
    You will have 2 storymodes the 1st storymode is the goodpath: You're just a person laying around to join the good side.
    The Bad Storyline: Eggman hires you to mainly destroy sonic and corrupt the world with him.
    The Storyline goes by you're custom character and sonic shadow, etc,
    That's it.

    My ultimate sonic game would have absolutely no boost or 2D sections, like the Adventure games, but no other gameplay styles. I would also have the levels more open than the shitty linear levels of Colors and Forces. Sonic's physics would be changed to accompany for slower platforming, which the Boost games luck in 3D sections. The story should be darker like Sonic Adventure 2 and maybe a little bit like Shadow the Hedgehog. I'd also maybe have the hero story and dark story from SA2, so you can see Sonics point of view and Shadows (Shadows gameplay would almost be identical to Sonic's) point of view. I would also give the player more control over Sonic and Shadow, and like the final boss of SA2, have an epic and cool final boss fight where they both turn Super. The levels would also be a lot more longer and there'd be a stage creator to prolong the games length.

    Open world sonic sounds interesting, but I think rather than assists, it should probably be swapable playable characters. All of the cast has the same basic gameplay, but have different abilities. Sonic has high speed, allowing him to use momentum to run up walls. Tails can fly to reach high platforms, knuckles can glide over long pits, espio can stealth past sensors, etc. So like assists each can access unique areas in each stage.
    The world could be divided into interconnected "zones" and each zone would have it's own theme and could have one of your friends to rescue in it. You can access the content in any order but when you do what affects what skills you have access to at any given time. The end game could be an assault on a final area only accessible by completing a more linear area with each character.Once open you would have a final level taking down eggman's grand scheme (Perhaps the story could be that eggman kidnapped your friends to keep you busy while he prepared his plan) and, if you found the chaos emeralds, a final secret stage.
    This is certainly a rough idea at this point, but I think it's worth exploring.

      I meant that you rescue them, then they become alternate playable characters, in case that wasn't clear. They would have a large part in the game, but rescuing them is an excuse to get the players to explore each area and to add a sense of progression in the game. A similar idea could be done with each area being under attack from some form of eggman robot, but then you'd have to come up with another reason why Sonic's friends aren't helping him from the start.

    I have a few issues with this video
    No voice acting dialogue only:
    This is more of a problem than a solution in 3D Sonic games, It'd work easily in a 2D game since this is a 3D game you can't exactly write a character in 3D without voice acting, you can't exactly feel someone's emotions from text alone plus it's not really the VA's fault, it's more both the Japanese writing team and Pontac and Graff, now they did make alot of correct choices by writing Sonic and a majority of the cast apart from Tails with improvements, I'm aware Tails was a prick in Lost World but yeah I'd rather have western writers handle story from now on
    No more realism!:
    Even in the 90's Sonic games had some contrast of realism to them, I mean Sonic's not always been pretty colours no, Scrap Brain Zone,Stardust Speedway, Mystic Cavern Zone etc because unless you've never finished a classic Sonic game you never notice these things
    Make Sonic open world!:
    If you mean in the way of Sonic Adventure then yes I agree, with better camera angles and more immersive and detailed enviroments
    Speed Systembuilt in:
    I have a problem with this, a feeling of inconsistency in terms of speed may become a problem because Forces' boost system is almost there...it's a step the direction it just needs to be perfected, I advocate the boost because it makes Sonic feel faster in terms of immersion but I rather say we should use a modified hedgehog engine from Unleashed's engine
    Super Sonic:
    Since 3S Sonic should be more arcade first platformer second, as we've seen from Unleashed, I wouldn't mind a open world with Super Sonic aslong as it's kind of small
    Tails and Knux should be fast as Sonic:
    Tails is supposed to be only slightly as fast as Sonic, Knuckles isn't supposed to be fast as Sonic at all, Shadow is supposed to be faster
    Character Interaction:
    Well I agree to a extent maybe they could to different dynamic areas with different characters and by freeing characters you can unlock them giving Sonic team alot more reason to use characters however the problem is they have to choose atleast a maximum of 6 for it to work correctly and I rather choose to play as a different character with a unique skillset than just use them with assists

    Oh maybe give tge power rings another use too, the more rings you collect the faster you can build up your speed or just have your speed connected to the rings since ya know power rings, and it could have a nice dynamic and be crushing when someone accidentally runs into an enemy taking them out of turbo mode or something, kinda like a different version of super Sonic, and they are stuck at mach 2... Oh better name omni mach sonic

    I agreed with most of your points here. However the main thing i dont agree with is the no voice acting/choices type thing. Despite the dialogue being pretty shit and cringy during these last sonic games, sonics quips are what makes him sonic. And if sega would go towards the route of a more devloped, perhaps a tad more serious story, the emotion would be better conveyed through voice acting, if handled correctly. Also, with the choice system, i dont think it would work, especially with sonic. I know you mentioned it the choices being the dialogue and didnt really mention if it affects the story or not like infamous for example. However, if the choices doesnt affect the story, then its basically a pointless gimmick that doesnt really do much, and if it does affect the story, then that alos wouldnt work because in general the choices would be the good or bad choices, and sonic is supposed to be the good guy, not an anti hero like shadow. So in my opinion i dont think that would work. The assist system is interesting, it would get rid of the wisps, and it could be similar to sonic adventure where you play as similar characters, but instead of playing with characters that seem boring, you play as sonic with the help of these supporting characters. Different stages introduce a new character that you need to help or you need their help. This could also help in developing characters more. The speed system is actually really interesting because it implements a more dynamic gameplay with more depth. You could also have different paths, one with high speed, and the other slowed down more for exploration. Also, the speed gague from unleashed could be brought back to see sonics speed and be able to control it more and different sections of the gague has different colors like the different sections of the stage so you know how fast to go. Also for style, the mania style could really, as long as dont make it completly cartoony as if it isnt already. i thinking a legend of zelda type atmosphere (windwaker) with of course a lot more jokes but when it comes time to be serious it can be.

    I really think sonic needs to continue with the adventure formula like SA1 and 2 and even 2006 with out the glitches and loading screens
