Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village (西江千户苗寨) is the largest Miao village in China and even in the world. It bears the title “thousand-household village” and now has 1432 household, which amounts to a population of over 5000, of which 99.5% are Miao ethnic group.
Xijiang Village is a superbly picturesque place, set in a natural basin and bordered paddy fields drenched in green, with wooden houses rising up in the hillside. It should be the fantastic “Miao Capital” and the “Open Air Museum” to experience Miao’s primitive culture, including Miao’s festivals, singing and dancing, art, architecture, language, costumes, silverwork, and food.

Highly recommend to stay a night! Night view is amazing. 1 day could be enough but its a bit rush, after all it takes time to travel there. 2 day 1 night would be prefect!

Plot twist: This isnt actually a miao village. it's more like an amusement park or a theme park.
Agree too! Totally a theme park, even with people wearing Miao costume! SO immersive experience haha😝 How long did you spend there last time haha

Its optional! 90% of the visitors didn't drink and just taking photo like me haha😝

Yes they accept foreigners! You can check the "policies" part on the booking website.
I arrived at 10pm but leave at 1 pm the other day. I would suggest 24 -36 hours there to feel both the day and night view!!❤

You call these minorities "Miao " but in reality they have their own names in different way. So please go by the real name of each individual ethnic group will be better. But if any ethnic group who prefers to keep the term " Miao " is okayed too.
