    Until seeing this i had always stood up in the rising trot by bringing my chest forward first and then standing up. This makes so much more sense!!

      THIS has been so helpful. My legs never felt that still (I can surely still improve, but I already felt some difference, just from changing how I think about and do the motion). Thank you!!
      (why has no trainer ever explained it to me like this before!?😅)

      @@annikascoachingit's cus trainers most of the time don't care and just tell you what to do. A good trainer will ask you questions to make you think and feel the difference between motions and what works for you and they will be able to explain why it works better and they should always be able to explain why they ask what they ask of you. If they don't want to or can't explain it they most likely don't know what they ask of you. They mever lernt themselves how it affects the horse and what motion with what body part is communicating to the horse. Every movement when riding a horse will have butterfly affects because it's always affecting and telling the horse something. Every movement is communication something to ur horse and will affect how they move and what they do. Understanding the communication behind your movements is what's going to make you an amazing rider. Knowing what you motion with your feet for example is telling your horse and why they respond in a certain way to it is key to understanding how to communicate what you want from your horse and knowing how to read the horses body language when riding aswell. It's all about communicating and understanding eachother. That's why horses can't do something wrong because they don't understand consequenses and what actions do they just act and do.

    Great way of describing it and it should feel exactly like that- smooth and fluid with the horse, not slamming up and down on their back.

    When I was learning my instructor cued me "hips forward". This helps get the idea of "up and down" out of the rider's head. Also another cue that is very helpful is "let the horse push you up". Posting is extremely natural and comfortable when done correctly. It is not forced upward standing at all. Love this video!! 👏

    you dont stand up straight though or you will get behind the horse movement. you also do not stand up straight from a chair. you have to be ever so slightly forward. EVER SO SLIGHTLY!

    I rode at a barn for 6 years!! And I still couldn't get a canter because I couldn't do a proper sit trot. The trainers there never taught me the proper way, they just told me to go 'up and down' and for sit trot: 'glue your butt to the seat'.

    Thanks for the video ❤Today was my 3rd day at horse riding and i knew about this swinging motion in our hips sometimes i was bouncing on the saddle during trot but when i found the rhythm it was smooth. Also a question do we have to grip with our thighs during trot? They told me to do this & it helped and also the stirrup was in middle of my foot and it was slipping when i was putting ball of my foot in there please help.

    • @johannajequestrianphysio
      @johannajequestrianphysio  Рік тому +1

      Well, I would advise to not grip with the thighs (but of course they should be lying against the saddle). Gripping causes tension and might actually make you less balanced and also cause your lower leg become unstable. But of course it's always a little bit difficult to give advise without actually seeing😊

    • @akhilkohli8861
      @akhilkohli8861 Рік тому

      @@johannajequestrianphysio thanks for the reply & yes it's difficult to give advise without seeing but when we rise up and down we need to put our weight somewhere and it's thighs and stirrups right where our most of the weight lies? You replied to someone on your trot video and i found it relatable. (When I was putting weight on my thighs/gripping there i felt stable and was able to sync with the trot rhythm) idk anyways today was my 3rd day & they let me trot with other experienced guys group also i wasn't able to give leg command to trot he was slowing down and I had to use whip to keep moving or other guy did it for me. btw thank you so much

    Mulla on se ongelma et tömähdän hevosen selkään, varmaan nousen liikaa jalustimen päälle tai yritän muuten vaa liikaa. 🤭 Ehkä hölmö kysymys mut pitäisikö osata jännittää jotain tiettyjä lihaksia kevyessä ravissa ja jos pitää niin mitä lihaksia? 🤔

    • @johannajequestrianphysio
      @johannajequestrianphysio  Рік тому

      Tuo voi johtua myös siitä että jalka ei ole ihan painopisteen alla jolloin et ole tasapainossa. Alas tullessa täytyy myös tietyllä tavalla "jarruttaa", jotta liike pysyy hallittuna koko matkalta. Oletko tsekannut muut videoni myös suomenkieliseltä kanavalta? Sieltä löytyy lisää vinkkejä😊 ja tuosta lihasten jännittämisestä, toki keskivartalon täytyy olla jäntevä mutta sellainen liiallinenkaan jännittäminen ei kuitenkaan auta asiaa😅
