❤❤ OMG Not sure how I found you, but thank God I did. I am an adult Rider. I have owned many horses and had trainers come to my home for years. I’ve leased a beautiful dressage horse and a week ago I probably looked like i’ve never ridden. I watched this video carefully a few times. I practiced in the living room and TODAY my trainer was SPEECHLESS for 50 minutes! I look like a different person. The horse went beautifully ALL because of YOUR explanation of bearing down ( clearing my throat noise!) Pretending I have no lower leg and feeling my thighs…… BRILLIANT Thank You Sooo much - you may see me for an in person lesson in the near future! /s/ A Forever Fan !
Wow....amazing. I'm going to watch, re-watch and watch again. I can't believe how generous you are (actually, both of you) I do hope I can find more. Wish I could pay you mega bucks but the horse takes them all !!😢
I absolutely love your videos on biomechanics! Please continue sharing. Your extremely knowledgeable and you make it much easier to understand the concepts with your analogies 😆👍🏼
Love the grocery cart analogy,, works way better for me than thinking of my reins as bamboo canes. Really enjoy these videos, I have trained with Mary Wanless and one of her protege in the uk. I am usually exhausted at the end of your videos as a result of bearing down for the entire film! Thanks sharing
A thousand Thankyous. I have learnt so much in a very short time that my riding has greatly improved. The way you teach , your analogies and clear communication is a breathe of fresh air. Please keep the superb videos coming. Linda Clark
Great information, thank you 😊 It was good to see the rider focus on her leg and seat position, and support it all with core - I've been working on that for a year. I was taught "old" school from age 9 in group lessons with like 6 minutes attention each time. So no great habits were ever really formed. And I had never heard of a half half! I was 29 when I met a woman who became my instructor & mentor and who spent ages in the arena giving me on-the-ground explanations from scratch. And ignoramously through the years I had developed really bad habits to do with seat, leg placement, use of seat, etc. I have to constantly watch for the bad habits and correct. 🟥 To this video: The difference in the horse's trot became significant. Horse was definitely engaging more behind and shifting its weight and balance more onto the hind. May I ask why the horse was in a double bridle?

Thank you! This was great!
This is so helpful.
If you have the weight in the thigh 80% and 20% in the sturrup, it seems that you would be gripping the knee
Also good cameraman showing the Trainer when explaining things…
What do you mean when you say to bear down?
