My 29 year old son asked me when I graduated from high school with his mom. I told him we graduated in 1987. He then said "I'm so jealous you grew up in the 80's". Yes my son, the music and the world was a much better place, and I'm glad I grew up then!
29 year old ? Damn! Kick him out of your house so he’ll learn what’s life like in the 80’s it’s authentic, parents back then we’re cool they’ll let you live your life.
I was born in '83 and totally identify with this song. My father had this LP and it was constantly playing in his hi-fi along with other 70's and 80's masterpieces. Timeless tune, still sounds fresh and more futuristic than most futuristic songs of today.
i am a 77er and my dad always played a Collection called "MUNICH CITY NIGHTS" in his car when we drive to Holidays aso....included this song...so i have a lot of memories connected with WHY ME :)

The production value and quality of the music in the 1980s FAR surpasses the quality of music today. Today everyone uses the same loops, the same drum patterns fresh out of a box, the only thing that varies are a few sequences, some instrumentation and vocals, but so much of today's music is half canned and ready to go. LONG LIVE THE MUSIC OF THE 80s!!
I freaking LOVE this song always have..never knew the artist and for the better part of 30 years have just sung what I remembered... so glad I could sing it to Google...and find it...this is my go to...whenever BS happens to me....maaaannnnn this song!!!!!! SUPREME
Holy Shtt!. An extended version! I never knew!...OMG!...I can't stop replaying this song.... ...and in an instant I am transported back to 1984, with my boom box...blasting Planet P in the back of the school bus in NJ... Rock on! and thanks for posting!
I was 12 when this song came out and I remember feeling as if it hit deep somewhere I could not point to. All these years later I can still not point to where it hits me so deeply.
I got it for me I think, my mother had cancer and chemo, but I could not know the significance, just her vomits/crying. She made it then, but I think me and my sister didn't made it pcychologically. This 'why me' expressed me so strongly then. Same as Mama of Genesis. Music expresses the subconsious sometimes.
@@damnyourpasswords Thank you for sharing that with me dude. Now having sat bedside in a hospital lying to a son about better days that would never come, I have a new understanding myself.

He wont be back this way til 2010... Well, did he make it? Lol. 2010. I was 12 years old in 1983. This song was kickass. I loved it. I was born in 84' and still love this better than all the shit my generation thinks is good! Dave Grohl thinks he's the man! Check Tony first! He played with countless major acts! And had a bitchin' solo career!

I am so glad to be a teenager during the 80s, tons of all time good music and great musicians
for real
I say that about me being a teenager during the early 70s! There's plenty of great music in all decades and all genres.
I like 2017 better. I keep discovering these bands I never knew about.
Uh yeah
Amen
I remember when this song came out and I thought that the year 2010 was such a long way off
I'm shocked we made it through the 80s.. memorys with this one 👍
I was a young teen in '83, and I never thought that music would suck in 2010, and Rock would be dying. And that it would be even worse in 2021.
It's 2021 now.
My little 14 year old brain was completely freaked out by this lyric. Two thousand ten? WTF???
"The Earth is turning, why does it go so slow?" is my favorite line.
