@@RWL2012 right, but the engine is Opel engineered.(Z20NHH) Todays Opel cars are just rebatched Peugeots with PSA engines, which is pretty sad. Modern Opel is basically a soulless rebatcher now, with only few specials like their expertise in making back friendly car seats. Can't be compared to old GM Opel.
I've driven the predecessor, the Opel Speedster with 2.0 Turbo engine and 200 HP. Since it was much lighter (930 kg) its acceleration and top speed was faster. 0 - 100 in 4.9 sec and 243 km/h. This rear-wheel driven Gokart machine was so much fun... I really miss it. When you've driven this thing you laughed at the GT.
We never had the GT in the UK as the Americans were not keen on chaging the steering wheel to the other side. We had the VX220 based on the Lotus platform.
My grandfather has the USDM version of this car. Saturn Sky Redline. Same 2.0 turbo Ecotec motor, same 260-ish horsepower, just an automatic instead of a stick
Well this thing suppose to do 0-100kmh in 5.7" . Some of the Car magazine's back in 2008 were claimed measurements for 0-100kmh in 6.4" and 0-1km in 26.5" . What's wrong with this specific car ? Or is just the wet tarmac the reason for lower performance than expected !?
I'd also say something is wrong, I mean the 100-200 time is 17.x seconds, my Volvo that had only 15hp more and surely weighs more did low 15 sec 100-200. This engine seems to be a bit tired maybe? Or is it just the shitty roadster aerodynamics?
never seen it like that but it's basically an mx5 nc ? from the sound, the shifter, the vents with with for your face, one on your balls basically and one for your feet, same 0-6 mind the nc might be slightly faster, same amount of tyre slip in the wet, same 100-200, same body proportions, same atrocious fitment. Anyways love it in a way, seems like a cousin to mine
@@LukasXc you’d expect Chevy to have put a little more effort in their flagship vehicle’s interior back in the C6 days. Luckily the C7 and C8 made great strides with their interiors
chance to see one is close to impossible unfortunately
Bro don't say that, this afternoon i saw a Mercedes 300 SL in my mini village ( this car worth 30 millions $
It's a Pontiac Solstice.
You can buy them cheap.
Or Saturn Sky
@@menof4188 no 300 sl is worth 30 million
when id go to work everyday in 2020 i saw a green one, 😌
Old good Times, when Opel produced CARS, not the newer and totally bad toys
and the funny thing is this one was made by Saturn/Pontiac, not Opel lol

Saturn Sky Red Line, pretty rare car in North America. I like it, very typical design of the mid 2000s.
Rare everywhere really, this car did not sell very well
Buddy of mine has one. It absolutely rips. Although I did stall out in front of a bunch of traffic
Opel❤
The car is way quieter at top speed than I would have expected from a roadster.

nice car bro
A neighbour across my street has a orange one, I have always been curious what it would be like to drive the Opel GT. Thanks!
Looks a lot like the G29 Z4. I love it !
“BMW G29 Z4” looks but made by GM and older
@@metropcs1099official I have a Z4 and i can definitely say that BMW got inspired by the GT. Lots of parts are quite similar between the two
3:19 lol the autofocus acting up
AkA the Pontiac Solstice
Damn, put that on the list of cars I forgot about

When will we get lotus omega?
Is opel like Holden because I live in Australia and many people tell me opel is similar
Yes it is
@adampavella1225 oh ok wow that's cool
At 100km speedometer and gps is close but the higher the speedo go it lost accuracy. At 200km gps about 184 massive 16 km gap

Corvette C6 Steering Wheel
The steering wheel looks like a C6 and some other GM cars used this steering wheel
Also a cobalt
imagine if they did not only use the steering weel from the Corvette C6 but also the engine and gear box
They used that wheel in EVERYTHING. The Malibu that I took my driving lessons in had that exact wheel
Haha thats the same steering wheel as in my C6 Corvette
more optimistic speedometers than old hondas :)
The only time I drove this was in MSR on Dreamcast…
Frankenstein on wheels 🛞
This was made by GM in the USA and modified for the EU then..... or vice versa?🤔
Pontiac Solstice
@@oliverkuppers4017 and the saturn sky
The car was designed in America but with a powertrain by Opel
Pontiac and Saturn both RIP had versions of this exact car. They didn't last long, pretty crappy.
Hey😊
Cool
Saturn sky?

Same with pontiac solstice gt and saturn sky redline.
Ah yes, the car that got forgotten even by who made it
0-200 in 25 sec. it's a supercar?
It's a sports car / Roadster
You drive 57, speedo sais 50.
You drive 100, speedo sais 100.
You drive 180, speedo sais 195...
bit odd, innit??
❤😊❤😊
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
That was the Opel Speedster not the GT
German corvette
It's American, actually. Rebadged Pontiac, assembled in Delaware.
Would be better without a turbo
As great as the C6 Corvette is, the fact that the same steering wheel is on this Opel (straight from the GM spare parts bin) always irked me🤦♂️
I don't see a problem
that is why the corvette was always cheaper than a Porsche, Lamborghini or Ferrari with similar power
@@LukasXc you’d expect Chevy to have put a little more effort in their flagship vehicle’s interior back in the C6 days. Luckily the C7 and C8 made great strides with their interiors

Why wouldn't have a GM steering wheel?
@ my point was, the Corvette should’ve had a better interior lol something better than parts shared with the other GM vehicles
It's like a really, really ugly, really, really slow VX220 Turbo 😂🤢
For years I've been seeing this car on car magazines I'll die without driving it😅
wow...230 dash 210 gps 🤣😂🤣
I would prefer a k-swapped lotus over an opel any day
It's not fast
A car doesn't need to be as fast as a Koenisgegg to be fun or cool.
Its faster than you thinking
Pontiac solstice..hahahaha .....
Saturn Sky don’t forget
For a 264bhp roadster the performance figures are quite slow. My 225bhp Cupra R was quicker
