Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on UA-cam, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on UA-cam. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on UA-cam, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

It is very simple. He was dating her. He found her diary where she spoke of the great love she had found. It surprised him because he never felt her loving him like that. When he told her what he discovered, she didn't have the heart to tell him it wasn't him. He projected the future as marrying her and giving her love. Soon he realized she was talking about someone else, not him. It broke his heart and he let her go wishing her new love, her eventual husband, would give her all the sweet things in life. He loved her so much but lost her. Heartbreaking.
Here you go: He's in love or infatuated with a young woman, but she, though friendly, hasn't been particularly warm toward him. Then, he finds her diary and begins reading what he thought was about him, and he begins to daydream about how she might act when he would show her that he's read what she wrote about him, and then to daydream some about their future together and how well he'd treat her. Then, after a few moments of woolgathering about that potential future, he continues reading, and realizes that it's not him she's writing about, but is someone else that she's met and fallen in love with. He then, not being the total jerk that I probably would have been, wishes them well and writes a song. If it had been me, I'd have at least gnashed my teeth and wailed at the unfairness of it all. 🙃
Ah ok! This makes much more sense now 😅 thanks for taking the time to explain it 😁
Pretty rough for the guy
THANK YOU. I had it all figured out wrong. But thats normal for me
I’ve always thought that he must have really loved her to wish her (and then, perhaps more reluctantly, them) all the sweet things in life. Very mature and gracious of him. I loved your admission that you probably wouldn’t have handled it as well.
@@ShawnSalvadori , thank you for your great reaction to this beautiful and heart-rending song. I'm a new sub, and I watched your reaction to Croce's "Time in a Bottle." Another song by Bread which I've always felt greatly complements Croce's song in both its haunting melody and sweet theme of never-ending love, is called "IF." The lead singer David Gates does it as a solo again, just like on "Diary." Virtually ALL of Bread's easy listening songs are wonderfully sweet, reflective, and meaningful.
Great job of explaining to the people that confused what had happened in this song. I was in Jr. High when it came out and we all understood what was going on in the story. Maybe it is just a generational thing. Anyway, you gave a good explanation.
Bread, so much beautiful songs. Fantastic music with the great voice of David Gates. It gives me goosebumps every time listening! 🎶🎶❤️❤️👍
Draw a nice bath, put on Bread greatest hits, and have the most relaxing experience of your life.
Coach, is the team going all the way this year?...lol, couldn't resist. Cheers.
Truth!
Explore more Bread. So much good music.
The story is that he found the diary. Thought it was him. Never got with her...read more and realized it wasn't him.
And the moral of the story is -- DON'T READ OTHER PEOPLE'S DIARIES. I cry every time I hear this heartbreaking song. I don't think they were ever together -- I think if was ALL his fantasy, and then reality hits as he reads further.
When you listen to the last couple of lines it tells us it’s a story of a man who loves a woman so much that his only concern is her happiness even if it’s with another man . Great reaction 🇬🇧👍
Very good song. Go down the Bread Rabbit Hole. You won't be disappointed 😁
No mate, its not him he's writing about. At the beginning he thought it was about him. But when he continued reading as time goes, he found out that it was someone else. New sub here. I hope you check their song titled "If" and Neil Diamond song " The Story of my Life" thank you.
If he found the diary, that means she already left; leaving the diary behind. He thought it was about him but then he realized that all this time she's been in love with someone else and since she's already gone he just wished them the best .
One of the best male voices.
Bread is so great. Check out " Aubrey " and " It Don't Matter to Me ".
You got it right. I grew up with that music😢
He loved her so much that he would sacrifice himself for her to be with her true love.
THE GOODBYE GIRL !!
what a twist.
I would feel rather sad being with someone who could not communicate how she felt enough to know that if I'd asked her to marry me she could not say "No, you're not the right one."
My interpretation was that he found her diary, he read it and his ego blinded him to the facts that it wasn't about him. Later on, after marrying and going through some time he again found it and re-read it and that time and wisdom gave him another chance to reconsider. The right thing then was to let her go.
I had something similar happen to me where I was talking to a friend and thought she would be a good partner and I just started to tell her how I felt but I didn't get very far along before she mentioned how much she liked someone else we were spending some time around so I never got the rest of what I was going to say out. They didn't date for long but I did hook them up. So it goes. :) Life can be interesting...
I would be crying so much the bath water would be salt water.
You gotta do more Bread
David Gates knew how to write panty-droppers, but this and "It Don't Matter To Me", are a bit different. Songs about true love and selflessness, even in the face of rejection, are exceedingly rare. Good stuff.
Absolutely timeless beauty in music. Meant to be enjoyed by generations to come. Great choice!!!
He did not end up with her. He wished her the best with her true love.
It's a ballad with a plot twist
She was friends with him but he loved her . He realized he loved someone else and was happy for her because he loved her
She was his wife.. but she loved another
I always appreciate you brother. Try If. By Bread.
'Baby I'm-a Want You" , "Make it With You", and "Guitar Man"
Bread was my favorite band when I was a kid. A couple of my other favorite songs by them are Aubrey & If.
My favorite from bread is Mother Freedom.❤
"Aubrey" is another one from David Gates and Bread.
