First off, I was also in Virginia City, NV on the same trip I’ve been talking about. So much fun to see all these places I went to years ago. You forgot to tell everyone that Bonanza was regularly filmed there, as well as one episode of Gunsmoke, among a bunch of Western-themed movies. It’s a really fun place to check out. When I went, there was someone who even worked on the crew when it was a set for Bonanza, and it was fun to chat with him. My family had nice cool sodas and ice cream in one of the bars (I had sarsaparilla - seemed appropriate 😂). It’s was a neat place to go. Even the drive up the mountain was fun because this little country western town just suddenly popped up out of nowhere.
About the guitar, I had a feeling you bought at least two, lol. The Epiphone and Sheeran is no surprise the way you got all excited. Trying to guess the third, lol. I get what you mean. It’s tough to pass up on a guitar that just jives with you. Are you going to sell anything from your collection at home to help fund these new guitars? That would be a good video subject if you are. Would be interesting to hear why you picked certain models to sell.
I know I’ve made some other video suggestions during your trip. One last suggestion: I’d love to hear how you managed to travel with these wood guitars and whether you had to make adjustments along the way due to the summer heat/humidity. People now buy those cheap “carbon fiber” import guitars. I say it in quotes because they’re mostly plastic resin with ground up carbon fiber mixed in - and people have the impression that they’re built like tanks when in fact they shatter/crack very easily. The guitars built like tanks are made from bidirectional carbon fiber, the same material as the airplane and aerospace industry. Not all composites are created equal, and two out of three of the “carbon fiber” guitars are not really suitable for guitars and have no way to repair them when they inevitably break.
I’ve said many times that the most attainable bidirectional CF guitar is from KLOS Guitars. Even when you buy new, KLOS Guitars about half the price of other brands like McPherson and Emerald Guitars, but you can get even better deals used from Reverb, new directly from KLOS or their dealers with requested discounts, by buying b-stock, and watching for their Kickstarters with new models will always have the best deals. However, if it’s still too pricey, I’ve told many people they’re better off buying a wood guitar instead of those cheap Chinese “carbon fiber” composite guitars because the wood will be more durable and can be repaired easily. It would be neat of you to make a video that speaks about traveling with wood guitars and how you make it work so they won’t get damaged along the way and are in playable condition through the trip. Do you take tools? Accessories? Do you keep the guitars in cases? How do you deal with the heat/humidity? How do you safely pack them into a car and take them in/out of the car to use? When you go to motels, do you take them all inside or leave them in the car? What do you do with the guitars when you’re visiting sites? How do you decide which guitars to take on your trip? Do you only take less expensive guitars, or are you okay with taking more expensive ones? Do you ever take vintage guitars along or only more modern models? I’m sure there is more, but those are the things I’m thinking about. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a good, practical video about going on road trips with guitars. Being that you go in lots of road trips, your advice would probably be helpful to many people wanting to do the same - where you can answer the above and explain WHY you make these choices and HOW you navigate everything.
Have a safe trip the rest of the way home!

Virginia city has changed a lot over the years. Much more commercial. But the history still stands out. Amazing. Thanks for all the ideas for future videos. I appreciate the suggestions. Also there is the ponderosa where the bonanza was filmed in Tahoe. Years ago we would take a wagon ride up to the movie set and have breakfast. It was a great place. They closed it to publicnow. Thanks again ❤️

Thanks for taking us on your road trip, and congrats on the guitars you acquired. Not surprised.....stick around a barber shop long enough, ya gonna get a haircut ! I had 2 Martin LX1E guitars (before Ed Sheeran made them famous). HPL back & sides , real spruce top , built in tuner/electronics, stratabond neck ( they never went out of tune with that neck) . Literally wore the tops out ( like Willie) They were my travel guitars and backup guitars on gigs. The Sheeran Lowen you have sounds very nice. I tried a few, just didn't "hit me". Any "brand" guitar has to stand on it's own and you got a good one ! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 (just wondered how many guitars you have, .. adding 3 more) ?? It's ok & understand if you don't say. You can always say......"Many" .... or " I'm looking for a bigger house" ! ! ! 🤣🤣😆😆🤣🤣🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

The concert size guitars are great for players like me with small hands. They are so much easier than the big dreadnoughts for playability. I love them. That Lowden sounds great and came with a pick-up! Congratulations!

Again, thanks. The old west has a special charm, guess it’s the rough edges that draw me in, imagining my own movie with saloon fights, dancing gals, street duels and such. Safe travels home. And … I know nothing, but other channels encourage me to write comments. They say it helps. So, as I’m a blabbermouth, I thought I’d help you grow a tad. Drop in the ocean. Looking forward to the ‘51 reveal.

Look up “Sheeran by Lowden” and you will see the connection that the guitar company has with Ed Sheeran.
Ed has written and performed quite a few hits using an acoustic guitar.

@@guitarnotions- Well, he is a street busker who now plays stadiums.
He may have been lugging around a few pedals, a mini amp, a microphone, and a power source (or a long extension cord) in addition to a guitar and decided to go with the smallest functional guitar.
I prefer a slightly smaller guitar and definitely a nut smaller than 1.75”, because I have slimmer fingers and don’t need the gaps provided by a 1.75” nut. I don’t think that Ed is a particularly large fellow either, so I can see him preferring something smaller.

Have you played any Recording King guitars before? I haven’t personally, but a lot of people rave about how good they are for the price. I’ve seen people actually choose the sound of their $800 RD-328 over a Marin D-28 in blind tests.

I bought a recording king on a Musician Friend stupid deal about 10 years ago. It was a low end model and I did not like it. I sent it back. But it sounds like the higher end models are nice from what you are saying. The cheap model I bought was so poorly constructed that you could see light coming through the edges where the brace met the sides. Lol.
