I remember watching that video and commenting on what a good price that guitar was selling for. When you left the shop without it, I kept thinking that, that guitar was meant for you. I am very happy you did get it, it's a beautiful piece of history. Congratulations! Great video series, thank you so much, to you and your family. God bless.
Not a guitar to gig with, but a beautiful instrument to be cherrished, played and enjoyed. What a happy accident that it found the right home, where it will be loved and enjoyed for the historic piece that it is. I envy you, and Im so happy for you. Enjoy!
I’ve never ever seen the inside of a Buc-ees. I’ve passed by them on the road, but never knew what was inside. I love those kitschy stores!! Maybe it’s better they don’t have one where I live in NYC (that I know of), lol. I’m so glad that the Zenith arrived safely. Were the repairs made by Mark’s before you ever held the guitar, or did they do that before shipping. I don’t know about up close, but I can’t even tell that repairs were done on camera. Whoever worked on it did a fantastic job!
You can barely tell the repairs are done in person. If you ever have the chance check out buc’ees you definitely would find it interesting. It is huge. ❤️
Great guitar! Thanks for showing us… wouldn’t it be neat to know the story of whoever owned it?? Who he/she was, what they did, what kind of life they had, were they a good person??? Would be neat … anyway, ENJOY the new(old) guitar. Can’t wait to hear it!!!
Thanks. I think if I remember right it belonged to a senior women that said she wanted to make sure it went to someone who would enjoy it. I will definitely do that. ❤️
I will not be putting a pickup in it. I will use a mic. This is not one I would want to alter in anyway. Also, on that thought, there are external mics that clip on the acoustic (neumann- its quite pricy) I have seen them on mandolins. I think they might also work on full-size guitars. …But given the cost, I will just use a regular mic.
@@guitarnotions , yeah I would alter it either. Hope you made a good deal with the shop. Vintage instruments can be expensive. I’m craving a 1954 00-18 Martian but cost wise it’s out of reach. I did see one used on Sweetwater for a nice price.
@@guitarnotionsthat’s a good decision. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some sort of pickup solution that would require permanently altering the guitar - lots of people have old archtops that never had a pickup. In fact, I just did a quick online search and this video popped up: ua-cam.com/video/MKj9_1V1Pws/v-deo.htmlsi=GOf6TgrHUtf1mn5U I am sure there are other pickup companies that make something similar where no drilling or permanent altering is necessary. If small companies make this sort of thing, I’d have to imagine the LR Baggs and Fishman must also offer a design along these lines. Perhaps you can look at brands making pickups like these at some point - let your wallet have time to recover, lol.

Wow, nice guitar for sure. Will you be putting a pick up in it?
