The problem is that you Brits, Canadians, and Aussies have a system whereby the laws are written such that everything that is not allowed by the law is forbidden. Our Constitution is written in such a way that everything that is not specifically forbidden is allowed. Our Constitution is written to LIMIT the government and to specifically outline what they are allowed to do. Our 9th and 10th Amendments make it clear that the Constitution gives any power not specifically delegated to the federal government is reserved to the people or the States. It also makes clear that any right not enumerated by the Constitution is still a right of the people. Our Founders believed that the rights we have were not being granted to us by the Government, but God given rights that were simple being codified by the Founders. The vast majority of Americans believe that every right we have are the rights every human on Earth have at birth. Your system is rooted in the Monarchy from before the Magna Carta. Back then only royalty had rights and everyone else was nothing more than a vehicle to collect taxes. You had to force the Monarchy to "give" you rights you were born with. The UK has no supreme document outlining the role of the government and the rights of the governed. Canada and Australia have tried, but they still cling to same philosophy that if it's not allowed, it's forbidden. Canada has even written it into the Charter of Rights where they grant a right and then say then can restrict the right if the government deems it necessary. The first thing you guys need to do is write a document that recognizes that the citizens have God given rights. Then get rid of the monarchy, make them find real jobs, and turn Buckingham, Sandringham, and every other "royal" property into the greatest B&B's in the world. Queen Elizabeth was a grand old dame and I was very sad when she passed. But the rest of that wretched family is a pox on the world.
The only way to get that is to fight for it. We can want it all we want. The govt being honest and doing the right thing has beem gone 30yrs ago. It will only get worse. The only way is to protest. It will take 5 to 10 million people to protest. It will have to be people of all political ideologies. The media will call it racist like usual. The problem is that we are spoiled in this country. None of these videos from this March 7th hearing have enough views. More Americans need to care about this. Speaks volumes that none of this is being discussed on the nightly news channels.
In regards to Canada threatening free speech, the Redder level multiculturalism dictates that. Parliament at one time was quiet at one point. And meetings held behind closed doors. Not always American style. We do not always get all other government Houses and meetings in other parts of the world. And some may also feel that all Canada has to do is once in a while give a press release. Giving Eurocrats and Beaurocrats more time to establish or do more of other things. Not the Bluer side. In areas more culturally sensitive around the world, some things may make sense. Our views have to balance each others’ general interests.

The best way, and likely the only way, to totally "roll back" the Patriot Act so as to render it legally null and void as such, arguably would be for the POTUS, as per the NEA of 09.14.1976, to legally rescind Executive Order 13224 of 09.23.2001, and likely also Proclamation 7463 of 09.14.2001, in the final analysis; otherwise no lasting change towards the ultimate good should be ever so likely to be had: IMHO; FWIW.
Imagine if democrats and Republicans negotiate which freedoms we get back...yeah "freedoms" "rights" those things can't be taken away. There are many laws they should undo.
What a numbskull the politician speaking at the start is. The laws, from the Constitution on down, apply to EVERYONE in this country. Citizen, non-citizen, visa holder, or illegal immigrant. If you are here you are both protected by and subject to our laws. They are NOT reserved just for citizens.
I see the term "word salad" tossed out [pun intended] by people who don't know the distinction between "there," "they're," their," and "totalitarian Marxism." Ad hominem is the laziest card to play.
I dunno....i am of the belief that if you have nothing nice to say don't say it at all. whether it be political, religious etc...social media made a lot of people brave...how bout start at your kitchen table with you family and discuss things...or go to your municiple meetings and voice your opinions. a true democracy is when you make you voice heard in front of the people who have the power...other than that you are wasting your time on social media being some sort of vigilante. there are a lot of cowards today. unfortunately with the rise of tech, people are knowingly put things out there that could get them in trouble...if your mom or dad would smack you for saying something bad why would you out it out there. if your actions are bad...did you never have any consequences for your bad behaviour...people need to stop with the entitlement crap...society can only be good if people do good. bye.
Actually no, I disagree with you. The current prime minister of Canada is acting like a tyrant and a dictator. He only has a minority government, and yet he is continually passing laws that the Canadian people don't want. The vast majority of Canadians want him gone. They want an election yesterday. He is invoking WEF mandates that were not voted on, and are to the detriment of Canada and Canadians.
I would say yes and at the same time no. If Canada continues on it's trajectory the US will have quite possibly another border crisis where Canadians begin to flee into the US as Canada falls to tyrannical socialist rule. Trudeau has already admitted he has an admiration for China's basic dictatorship. Do you think the US would tolerate a country on there front door that follows in China's footsteps? Canadian politics is weak. In part because unlike in the US a politician in Canada that is a member of say the Liberals, NDP or Conservatives have to tow the line. If a politician in Canada steps out of line and goes against there party dictates via there leader they would be removed from said party by the party leader. Meaning that politician upon seeking re-election has no choice but do run as an independent which often means your political career is over. This means most of our Canadian politicians are just talking heads and accomplish next to nothing and rarely fight back. Many just put there heads down to put there time to collect there pension assuming of course there re-elected to accomplish that. I would also say the politicians in Canada are extremely out of touch with it's citizens more so than the US. This is the situation we have right now at the Federal level where the NDP leader Jagmeet Singh knows he's finished but props and keeps the Liberals in power. The NDP stopped supporting the Liberals right now we would have an election this year but he won't. He has no political future, he will never be elected as prime minister he's just waiting to 2026 for the next election so he can step down and take his pension. In the US if a Democrat votes against a certain bill or disagrees with there party leader at the state or federal level they aren't kicked out.
Justine Trudeau barks a lot about Democracy but he's a Communist Dictator by heart.
Recall, he said he admires China’s “basic dictatorship.”

The best way, and likely the only way, to totally "roll back" the Patriot Act so as to render it legally null and void as such, arguably would be for the POTUS, as per the NEA of 09.14.1976, to legally rescind Executive Order 13224 of 09.23.2001, and likely also Proclamation 7463 of 09.14.2001, in the final analysis; otherwise no lasting change towards the ultimate good should be ever so likely to be had:

The USA might need to enforce its northern border soon.
How dare you drag Canada into your lies about us and how we govern.
I see the term "word salad" tossed out [pun intended] by people who don't know the distinction between "there," "they're," their," and "totalitarian Marxism." Ad hominem is the laziest card to play.

Baseless allegation 😂
I dunno....i am of the belief that if you have nothing nice to say don't say it at all. whether it be political, religious etc...social media made a lot of people brave...how bout start at your kitchen table with you family and discuss things...or go to your municiple meetings and voice your opinions. a true democracy is when you make you voice heard in front of the people who have the power...other than that you are wasting your time on social media being some sort of vigilante. there are a lot of cowards today. unfortunately with the rise of tech, people are knowingly put things out there that could get them in trouble...if your mom or dad would smack you for saying something bad why would you out it out there. if your actions are bad...did you never have any consequences for your bad behaviour...people need to stop with the entitlement crap...society can only be good if people do good. bye.

What Canada does is Canada's business.
yup and as a Canadian we said this for china years ago.. yet here we are.
Unfortunately the dems are just like the politicians in Canada.
What would possess the US Congress to invite Jordan Peterson and his half-baked nonsense to their floor? The US is falling with no end in sight.
Dr. Jordan Peterson botched the explanation of C-63 very badly. Dr. Peterson is neither a political scientist nor a lawyer, not sure why is he there.
