Did you notice the first time Jin was getting dressed, he knocked the flower vase over by the mirror? Then in the last scene he caught it before it fell. He'd obviously been there before and knew it was gonna happen... And in the end he just almost seems resolved to the fact that he can't fix it no matter how hard he tries to go back and change things, so he doesn't even try that time. The dates are definitely important, and once you see the notes the timeline might make more sense. All of their stories make more sense. The JHope childhood scene gets me too! Every single time. She just leaves him there with a snickers bar. Like, really? It makes the snickers scene really sad in the Fake Love MV. Can't wait to see the rest as you finish up this storyline... Or where we're at in it so far.
Her mother said open your ask after counting 1 to 10 when he opened his eyes her mom is gone. On that scene when his friend brought him a cake she said close your eyes and make a wish but everytime he close his eyes he remembers that scene. Don’t cha worry it made me cry again. 😁💜
Jimin hit the girl accidentally while dancing and is reminded of something that happened to him when he was a child (it's not clear yet what happened) and he runs away and hides in the bathroom, when he goes back to the girl but finds her gone with J-hope
I personally think that he saw someone getting shot in the flower arboretum since we hear a gun shot in the Lie short film and there is a lot of blood shown in this MV for a simple hit 😓😓

The blue flowers jin had and the petals from all other music videos is the "smeraldo" flower. It is not a real flower, it comes from an old folktale where an ugly man lives alone because he is afraid of what people think of him. Then, one day, a girl steals from his garden and he finds out that she sells his flowers to make a living. He falls in love with her and decides to make her the most priceless beautiful flower in the world because only that type will exist.The story ends with the man planning to reveal his true self to the girl only to find out that she died. Bighit actually created an entire twitter page dedicated to a fake smeraldo flower shop which Jin visits. From there, you can see many more different and intricate details of the storyline!
Yea the J-Hope part makes me emotional too. I remember getting so emotional over the snicker scene in Fake Love while majority of people were laughing over the amount of candy bars.

J-Hope's scene always gets me as well. I cried with you in this when you explained why you cried at the end because that was exactly what was going through my head as well when I saw this for the first time :( The next MVs will probably be a bit lighter, but prepare yourself for the webtoon - it's tough. It made me cry in like every second chapter and I honestly can't believe that it managed to do that because I always perceived myself to be someone who does not cry that easily over something fictional, but meh- BTS storyline completely messed me up :/ Edit: Oh, and at 9:47 (in your reaction video), there's this scene of Tae thinking about Namjoon (scenes from the Prologue) and then he puts his cellphone on a water bottle and hits it with a golf club. The scene is parallel to a scene in the Prologue, when Namjoon puts a little yellow toy car on a water bottle and does the same: hitting it with a golf club. My personal theory about this (not confirmed) was that Tae first thinks warmly of the time together with Namjoon, but then it comes to his mind again that Namjoon let him down by not answering his phone call when he needed him (the wings shirt film and the phone booth) and maybe that's why he suddenly has this sinister expression and then kind of (mockingly) copies Namjoon with the golf club and hits his own cellphone (maybe in order to express something like: "I wasn't able to reach you (by phone), so now you won't be able to reach me as well." I'm not that good at explaining my thoughts in English, but that was somehow what I thought about the scene :)

Ughh it gets me everytime too. This whole highlight reel gets me. I think Bangtan just made such a unrealistic yet realistic storyline. These things do happen so it's most definitely relatable. I didn't get the notification ):
If you see closely in the scene where j-hope is taking the girl to the hospital and Jimin is looking at them or something you'll see that j-hope is not drenched even though he's in the rain and Jimin is completely soaked even though he has an umbrella. Idk if it has something to do with the storyline or it's just symbolism. Also another thing to keep in mind is that there are 7 boys and 6 girls meaning everyone except Jimin has a female counterpart. This is quite important because their in their new series (spoiler alert) Map of the soul there's this thing called Anima (feminine part of a man's personality- in jungian psychology). So the girls could be their respective Anima and Jimin doesn't have one. It could be a possibility since Anima is suppressed by a childhood trauma which apparently happened to Jimin. This could be one thing or they're just a love interest or friend. It's very confusing.
When RM brought up Map of the Soul and I started looking into it, I THOUGHT THIS TOO!! Because all the girls are the counterpart of their pairs and I always thought that the pairs were the other halves of each other. The crazy thing, with BTS THIS COULD BE EXACTLY THAT! Because they hide sooooooo much info and they work on concepts so far in advance.
The girls represent themselves that's why they are dressed like them too. For example the girl with suga symbolizes JK and girl with JK is Suga. Girl with RM is V (rm keeps following and looking out for V), girl with V is RM (the one wearing the cap that looks like she is following him), girl with jhope is jimin is Jimin himself - some say he films himself dancing and only focusing on himself being critical as he doesn't think he doesn't think he is good enough as jhope and he wants to be the best, also the next scene where we see Jimin is with an umbrella but is drenched while jhope running with the girl(jimin) on his back in the hopes to save him (rem the drowning scene of jimin in the bath tub, this also signifies why he is wet and so is the girl that jhope carries on his back, while hobi dry). Unfortunately, jhope was unable to save Jimin and BC of tho commits suicide by overdosing on pills. Watch it again and you will see it. I could go on about Suga and JK as well as RM and V (but you guys figure it out yourselves and notice the relationshion between each character and come with hour own theories :)) and of course Jin is trying to save them all
The flowers are Smeraldo flowers, a flower from a (17th century, I think) Italian folk tale. I would tell you what the stories about but the details are a little fuzzy and I don’t want to misdirect you. The song The Truth Untold digs into the story of the Smerlado flower. The flower has sort of become a symbol of the storyline.
Smeraldo is Italian for emerald. Those flowers, at night, under the light of the moon, can shine like emeralds. This made them the most precious and rare flowers in the world. Of course these flowers do not exist in reality. But in the story (in Jin's Notes) it is something that confused me at first, until I read the Smeraldo story (La Città di Smeraldo). The message of the story was simply this: Love Yourself. If you can't love yourself for who you are first, how could you possibly love someone else when you don't have any love in you for yourself? It’s said smeraldo (flower) stands for the ‘sincerity that could not be delivered’ or the 'truth that could not be told'. This relates to BTS' song "The Truth Untold" the lyrics and these are the flowers that Jin was carrying in this Higlight Reel. I love how BTS reference so many of their videos/songs to certain things such as books, news, personal past events, and things like that. Except for the time loop thing, this storyline could be realistic fiction, as it could be happening to someone out there in the world, or has happened, or will. Just like Jhope's story, it's so sad, but it happens.
I knew you were going to cry when u saw J-Hope flashback because I cried as well when I first saw the highlight reels. I cried with you during that part because now that my grandfather passed away in 2017; I cry everytime I see something about someone dying, something just really sad or when I see other people cry...I cried at the end of your reaction when you were talking about that scene of the little kid. Anyway when you said, "he's going to go see her but she's not going to be there and might have passed away" I literally said the same thing when I first watch the highlight reels/the scene of Jungkook with the flowers.
Ya I get emotional every time hobi's child scene pops up. Its not even the fact that she left but the fact that that was so MF dangerous, she left him in the hands of strangers. Thank god he found his way, he could've gotten stolen and hurt very badly and that's just terrifying.

Hoseok's storyline is ... so so so heartbreaking. 😢 Little Hoseok tried to cope with the situation as best as he could but he "developed" Munchausen Syndrom. Even as an adult, he just wants his mother to take care of him 😢 I understood why you got so emotional at the end, just to think about it happening to real children in real life ... it's just 😢 Abandoning a child is so cruel, and it deeply affects a person, for the rest of their life. I'm glad this is a theme that BTS is talking about through their storyline ... And I hope they give Hoseok a happy ending. It would be the best message to give, a message of hope for people who can relate to the character. Okay i'll stop thinking about it. I cried enough. Can't wait to Euphoria and Serendipity ^^ Serendipity isn't about the storyline but Euphoria is very important (remember that the events of Euphoria happen before the events of the Highlight Reel)

Yes personally I link it with that too, but if you don't have the time to watch it atm it's fine cause it doesn't move the storyline forward (I'm not sure it even officially is part of BU, but for me it fits in). It's more like a glimpse of their life when they were happy together, so it's a nice cute moment between all the vids that make you cry XD I hope you had time for cookies or a wine afterwards ^^

Now that I think about it you could watch the first teaser, rewatch the fake love mv if you want, or you could just watch the extended version! I think there are some flashed extra scenes in too, just for split seconds at a time. So you can watch them both if you want, but I don't think it's necessary if you don't want to. I'm not even going to address the abandonment because it's Jonghyun's birthday and I've already cried way too much today and yesterday so we're just going to go with an 'I feel you' and swiftly move on. the notes are like diary entries with dates so yeah the dates always signify where in the timeline it fits. coz the don't come in chronological order. (and there is one VERY important date that ties in with this comeback and webtoon as well im freaking out...) i always thought Y.K. on the lighter might be YoonKi. Even though his name is styled as Min Yoongi, i saw many translations (including official ones) where they wrote his name as YunKi or YoonKi instead of yoongi. so might be? another thing might be YoonKook tying with jungkook, or maybe yoongi and the girl's initials? dunno. im going with YoonKi though. the flowers are a fictional ones called Smeraldo flowers. which ties into the damn spider web of a storyline. like the flowershop has an instagram account and the date jin got bought those flowers for her they posted on instagram "a young boy came today, asked for smeraldo flowers" or something like that. once you read the notes and the webtoon im curious as to what you will make of the girls and their roles in the storyline. jhope's backstory really got me too and yes you did make me cry at the end dammit. if you havent started the reactions yet it might be better to do euphoria first then serendipity.. but it really doesnt matter too much. and sorry for your phone again :D

They're all Intros or part of the love yourself album trilogy and the MVs I believe are connected and give you more insight into the whole storyline from each individual's (or at least vocal line, V, Jimin, Jungkook and Jin's) perspective.. They're pretty short, maybe 1-3 mins long so I think it might be alright to put them all in one video, but it's up to you 😊👍
The vase scene is very important in the first scene it fell but in the second one Jin caught it before it fell. He traveled back in time. Also the jhope in the amusement park scene he was left their abandoned by his mother. She told him to close his eyes and count to ten before opening them and left him only with a snickers chocolate bar. That's why in fake love jhope was in the room with an amusement park theme like place. And was laying in the so many Snickers. Hope it explained some of it 💜 Also I forgot to mention it's a fun fact 😂 the girl (Shin Rhyujin) with jhope and jimin just debuted in the girl group Itzy.
Euphoria is a very good song. It soothing but the moment you know and get each members story and what goes on with them... And understanding the meaning of the song in accordance to the story, Girl emotions just smacks you. I loved Euphoria when it got first released. I sing it alot on a daily to soothe my feels. (IDK it just gives me that weird calm and fresh breeze ki dah feeling to it. Like it makes you wanna look forward through the day and tge next days ahead. Despjte you getting tired from all the daily struggles) but yeah, after knowing the song meaning, what it represent and digging deep to understand it while incorporating it to each memvers characters too. I'm so excited you are to see you beginning to realize the dates and the going back in time to change things. I cried too when I watched this the first time and it's interesting to see the moments when you lose it and can't hold back the tears. I lost it at Jungkook in the girls room and kept crying seeing Jhope rushing with the girl on his back. There is a prediction floating around that Save Me webtoon will have a second season of issues and i'm starting to wonder if that's true because there is so much material.

BigHit with @Smeraldo_Books released a webtoon called save me via Line Webtoon which is going over all of this and a bit more, started in January and the last chapter is coming out April 10 (day before the CB) not sure if you will have time to read it but adds more to the story line that just the MVs, but it is triggering and depressing at the same time but very good
Also the character J-Hope is playing got abandoned yet he still makes friends and tries to be cheerful. If that was me I wouldn't be able to do that. I'd have trust issues and be a meanie to everyone I ever meet.

Ive always thought that this lys highlight reel is before everything went wrong in their lives (before i need u). This time they are faced with a problem which is loving a girl, or falling in love and conflict that arise while doing so. We can see different outcomes of this but you noticed that RM didnt approach the girl and let her be right? Jimin and jhope both related to one girl only. With V, he sacrifice himself to save the girl. Yoongi was fighting with his girl. As for jungkook, the girl probably left without saying or passed away. Jin on the other hand meet the girl but he saw with his own two eyes as the girl being hit by the car. Im not sure how correct i am but thats what im getting since then. I might not be right since there's a lot of things and stuffs to read for example their hyyh notes. ive read the webtoons and i think that had given me the light on what is really going on so far. Or you can say this is another timeline which some things are patched up but another ordeals are presented upon them. Now since you know whos the main character or the focus/center of the story, i think you will get better grasp of everything once u reach epiphany and webtoons 💜 thanks for the reaction. We love you!
Jin's flowers were given by that white truck, those flowers are called smeraldo flowers those are a type of flower that don't really exist but if you do a bit of research you can find some backgroung story about it and its very interesting Oh... and also at that time a misterious blog in naver appear and was the shop called smeraldo flower with the notice that there were getting ready to open the shop and a contest to win some of those flowers was opened by that shop, aparently the winners were choose but we don't really know, apart from that the first bouquet of those flowers were sent to jin and as you can see Jin got the flowers just before the girl was crushed It was so cool to see that blog like really existing and was created way before this storyline, also the flower shop twitter account and the facebook page of the academy of the smeraldo flower wich was posting different types of hints to bts related story.... so yeah.... bighit is a fkn genius and no one can deny it Btw those flowers were in Run MV, I need u japanese ver, and even jin hint us about the name of the flowers before the higlight reels My explanation is very messy but I hope is helpful

Serendipity should be next so I'm really excited. The LY series are my favs. Also I want to give you props for remembering things and trying to understand whats going on ! It's a heavy storyline and with a lot of dark themes. Aw dear, I cried with you in this reaction :((( Not to spoil anything about the story, but tell you what happened in the video: -Jimin and the girl dancer crashed into one another. -Jimin's arm cut open, while the girl fell unconscious. -You can see that Jimin freaks out over the cut and blood and goes to wash his arm in panic. -J-hope carries the unconscious girl to the hospital. And Jimin eventually runs out to them too, but gives up chasing after them.

There is something having to do with Jimin and blood. Which reminded him of the incident he must had seen or done at the flower aboretum.
I personally think that he saw someone getting shot in the flower arboretum since we hear a gun shot in the Lie short film and there is a lot of blood shown in this MV for a simple hit 😓😓

The blue flowers jin had and the petals from all other music videos is the "smeraldo" flower. It is not a real flower, it comes from an old folktale where an ugly man lives alone because he is afraid of what people think of him. Then, one day, a girl steals from his garden and he finds out that she sells his flowers to make a living. He falls in love with her and decides to make her the most priceless beautiful flower in the world because only that type will exist.The story ends with the man planning to reveal his true self to the girl only to find out that she died. Bighit actually created an entire twitter page dedicated to a fake smeraldo flower shop which Jin visits. From there, you can see many more different and intricate details of the storyline!
Yea the J-Hope part makes me emotional too. I remember getting so emotional over the snicker scene in Fake Love while majority of people were laughing over the amount of candy bars.
Hobi's story broke me.. Coz his mom asked him to close his eyes And count to ten, and when she left him, he can no longer count til 10, he ends up fainting..😭 😭 😭

It made me cry in like every second chapter and I honestly can't believe that it managed to do that because I always perceived myself to be someone who does not cry that easily over something fictional, but meh- BTS storyline completely messed me up :/

The scene is parallel to a scene in the Prologue, when Namjoon puts a little yellow toy car on a water bottle and does the same: hitting it with a golf club. My personal theory about this (not confirmed) was that Tae first thinks warmly of the time together with Namjoon, but then it comes to his mind again that Namjoon let him down by not answering his phone call when he needed him (the wings shirt film and the phone booth) and maybe that's why he suddenly has this sinister expression and then kind of (mockingly) copies Namjoon with the golf club and hits his own cellphone (maybe in order to express something like: "I wasn't able to reach you (by phone), so now you won't be able to reach me as well."
I'm not that good at explaining my thoughts in English, but that was somehow what I thought about the scene :)

Ughh it gets me everytime too. This whole highlight reel gets me. I think Bangtan just made such a unrealistic yet realistic storyline. These things do happen so it's most definitely relatable.

sometimes i just watch the highlight reel because i feel like it. it's like watching a movie and the music is so nice.
If you see closely in the scene where j-hope is taking the girl to the hospital and Jimin is looking at them or something you'll see that j-hope is not drenched even though he's in the rain and Jimin is completely soaked even though he has an umbrella. Idk if it has something to do with the storyline or it's just symbolism. Also another thing to keep in mind is that there are 7 boys and 6 girls meaning everyone except Jimin has a female counterpart. This is quite important because their in their new series (spoiler alert) Map of the soul there's this thing called Anima (feminine part of a man's personality- in jungian psychology). So the girls could be their respective Anima and Jimin doesn't have one. It could be a possibility since Anima is suppressed by a childhood trauma which apparently happened to Jimin. This could be one thing or they're just a love interest or friend. It's very confusing.
When RM brought up Map of the Soul and I started looking into it, I THOUGHT THIS TOO!! Because all the girls are the counterpart of their pairs and I always thought that the pairs were the other halves of each other. The crazy thing, with BTS THIS COULD BE EXACTLY THAT! Because they hide sooooooo much info and they work on concepts so far in advance.
The girls represent themselves that's why they are dressed like them too. For example the girl with suga symbolizes JK and girl with JK is Suga. Girl with RM is V (rm keeps following and looking out for V), girl with V is RM (the one wearing the cap that looks like she is following him), girl with jhope is jimin is Jimin himself - some say he films himself dancing and only focusing on himself being critical as he doesn't think he doesn't think he is good enough as jhope and he wants to be the best, also the next scene where we see Jimin is with an umbrella but is drenched while jhope running with the girl(jimin) on his back in the hopes to save him (rem the drowning scene of jimin in the bath tub, this also signifies why he is wet and so is the girl that jhope carries on his back, while hobi dry). Unfortunately, jhope was unable to save Jimin and BC of tho commits suicide by overdosing on pills. Watch it again and you will see it. I could go on about Suga and JK as well as RM and V (but you guys figure it out yourselves and notice the relationshion between each character and come with hour own theories :)) and of course Jin is trying to save them all

The flowers are Smeraldo flowers, a flower from a (17th century, I think) Italian folk tale. I would tell you what the stories about but the details are a little fuzzy and I don’t want to misdirect you. The song The Truth Untold digs into the story of the Smerlado flower. The flower has sort of become a symbol of the storyline.
Smeraldo is Italian for emerald. Those flowers, at night, under the light of the moon, can shine like emeralds. This made them the most precious and rare flowers in the world. Of course these flowers do not exist in reality. But in the story (in Jin's Notes) it is something that confused me at first, until I read the Smeraldo story (La Città di Smeraldo). The message of the story was simply this: Love Yourself. If you can't love yourself for who you are first, how could you possibly love someone else when you don't have any love in you for yourself?
It’s said smeraldo (flower) stands for the ‘sincerity that could not be delivered’ or the 'truth that could not be told'. This relates to BTS' song "The Truth Untold" the lyrics
and these are the flowers that Jin was carrying in this Higlight Reel.
I love how BTS reference so many of their videos/songs to certain things such as books, news, personal past events, and things like that. Except for the time loop thing, this storyline could be realistic fiction, as it could be happening to someone out there in the world, or has happened, or will. Just like Jhope's story, it's so sad, but it happens.

I cried with you during that part because now that my grandfather passed away in 2017; I cry everytime I see something about someone dying, something just really sad or when I see other people cry...I cried at the end of your reaction when you were talking about that scene of the little kid. Anyway when you said, "he's going to go see her but she's not going to be there and might have passed away" I literally said the same thing when I first watch the highlight reels/the scene of Jungkook with the flowers.
Ya I get emotional every time hobi's child scene pops up. Its not even the fact that she left but the fact that that was so MF dangerous, she left him in the hands of strangers. Thank god he found his way, he could've gotten stolen and hurt very badly and that's just terrifying.

Oh where does the fake love teaser 1 fit in??? Cause that's super important and confusing! I'm sure someone has put it in the list but I don't know where it should go. You definitely have to watch it though! It's very closely tied with the highlight reels! You could either do it now or with your Fake Love revisit? Now that I think about it you could watch the first teaser, rewatch the fake love mv if you want, or you could just watch the extended version! It's the same mv just with a little added at the beginning and the end and with the rock remix instead of the original music, along with a few added sound effects from things they're doing in the mv that they didn't put in in the original. I think there are some flashed extra scenes in too, just for split seconds at a time. So you can watch them both if you want, but I don't think it's necessary if you don't want to.
I'm not even going to address the abandonment because it's Jonghyun's birthday and I've already cried way too much today and yesterday so we're just going to go with an 'I feel you' and swiftly move on.

the notes are like diary entries with dates so yeah the dates always signify where in the timeline it fits. coz the don't come in chronological order. (and there is one VERY important date that ties in with this comeback and webtoon as well im freaking out...)

Like lillies mean birth, the smeraldo means the truth I couldn't tell. You may see this flower again. They're all Intros or part of the love yourself album trilogy and the MVs I believe are connected and give you more insight into the whole storyline from each individual's (or at least vocal line, V, Jimin, Jungkook and Jin's) perspective.. They're pretty short, maybe 1-3 mins long so I think it might be alright to put them all in one video, but it's up to you 😊👍
The vase scene is very important in the first scene it fell but in the second one Jin caught it before it fell. He traveled back in time.
Also the jhope in the amusement park scene he was left their abandoned by his mother. She told him to close his eyes and count to ten before opening them and left him only with a snickers chocolate bar. That's why in fake love jhope was in the room with an amusement park theme like place. And was laying in the so many Snickers.

Euphoria is a very good song. It soothing but the moment you know and get each members story and what goes on with them... And understanding the meaning of the song in accordance to the story, Girl emotions just smacks you. I loved Euphoria when it got first released. I sing it alot on a daily to soothe my feels. (IDK it just gives me that weird calm and fresh breeze ki dah feeling to it. Like it makes you wanna look forward through the day and tge next days ahead. I'm so excited you are to see you beginning to realize the dates and the going back in time to change things. I cried too when I watched this the first time and it's interesting to see the moments when you lose it and can't hold back the tears. I lost it at Jungkook in the girls room and kept crying seeing Jhope rushing with the girl on his back. There is a prediction floating around that Save Me webtoon will have a second season of issues and i'm starting to wonder if that's true because there is so much material.

Ive always thought that this lys highlight reel is before everything went wrong in their lives (before i need u). This time they are faced with a problem which is loving a girl, or falling in love and conflict that arise while doing so. We can see different outcomes of this but you noticed that RM didnt approach the girl and let her be right? Jimin and jhope both related to one girl only. With V, he sacrifice himself to save the girl. Yoongi was fighting with his girl. As for jungkook, the girl probably left without saying or passed away. Jin on the other hand meet the girl but he saw with his own two eyes as the girl being hit by the car.
Im not sure how correct i am but thats what im getting since then. I might not be right since there's a lot of things and stuffs to read for example their hyyh notes. ive read the webtoons and i think that had given me the light on what is really going on so far.
Or you can say this is another timeline which some things are patched up but another ordeals are presented upon them.
Now since you know whos the main character or the focus/center of the story, i think you will get better grasp of everything once u reach epiphany and webtoons 💜 thanks for the reaction. We love you!
Jin's flowers were given by that white truck, those flowers are called smeraldo flowers those are a type of flower that don't really exist but if you do a bit of research you can find some backgroung story about it and its very interesting
Oh... and also at that time a misterious blog in naver appear and was the shop called smeraldo flower with the notice that there were getting ready to open the shop and a contest to win some of those flowers was opened by that shop, aparently the winners were choose but we don't really know, apart from that the first bouquet of those flowers were sent to jin and as you can see Jin got the flowers just before the girl was crushed
It was so cool to see that blog like really existing and was created way before this storyline, also the flower shop twitter account and the facebook page of the academy of the smeraldo flower wich was posting different types of hints to bts related story.... so yeah.... bighit is a fkn genius and no one can deny it
Btw those flowers were in Run MV, I need u japanese ver, and even jin hint us about the name of the flowers before the higlight reels

Notice that the flowers used now are Calla Lilies and not white lilies. Look up the meaning behind the flower.

Serendipity should be next so I'm really excited. The LY series are my favs. Also I want to give you props for remembering things and trying to understand whats going on ! It's a heavy storyline and with a lot of dark themes. Uh I'm not sure if you'll read the notes, but those and the webtoon can be very triggering so be ready for that

Not to spoil anything about the story, but tell you what happened in the video:
-Jimin and the girl dancer crashed into one another.
-Jimin's arm cut open, while the girl fell unconscious.
-You can see that Jimin freaks out over the cut and blood and goes to wash his arm in panic.
-J-hope carries the unconscious girl to the hospital. And Jimin eventually runs out to them too, but gives up chasing after them.
