    Hey guys, (CJPony Parts) great video, however, the wires you are tapping into are not completely correct. The ground is, however the blue with grey tracer is actually the park light circuit. The correct wire for the turn on that side is green wire with orange tracer. Hope this helps anyone doing this install. Be sure to mount these resistors to bare metal....

    Surely you read the part about how the resistors get really really hot , so good luck with the double sided tape. They put screw holes for a reason.

    Fantastic video, thanks for putting it together! All the other videos on youtube gloss over the actual work, and show everything already done. Your camera angles are fantastic, I can clearly see what to do. Great background music too!

    Thanks for the tutorial. For the rear resistors (might have been useful to mention they're 6 ohm), it is better IMO, to install them on a metallic surface with at least one of the two screw holes, not with double sided tape. And to close the video, it would have been nice - as someone else has already mentioned - to show the LED lights working sans hyper flashing.

    Thanks for the video. However, to reiterate what others have mentioned, it is much better to secure the resistor body by screwing it metal-to-metal (for greater heat dissipation) than using two-sided tape shown at 3:43, even better if both ears are screwed to a metal surface.

    I checked all the wires & installed the resistor. I made sure the brake light, tail light & turn signal worked...and it did (all in the same bulb). Then I installed the LED bulb. Only the brake light & turn signal worked. I flipped the bulb around and the only the parking light would work. Hmmm? Any ideas/suggestion? Thanks!

    man those resistors really needed to be mounted to something metal as they get very hot and will easily melt through any plastic parts I modified mine to get more length on those resistor wires and used self tapping screws to mount them to the back side of the crash bar well away from plastic parts

    The resistance heats up, because you fix it with that glue, could it melt it? Another query, the resistance goes in the section of the lighthouse where water can fall behind, something will happen with the resistance if it drops water or is water resistant?

    HELPPPP!!!! CHEVY MALIBU 2017 - I bought 7443 Switchback lights I plugged the LED lights in but now my car is saying check front and left turn signals. It is giving me rapid flashback feed in which I need resistors plugged up to it. I have the resistors but what cords do I need to connect it too in my car? There are 4 colors fro my switchback which are PURPLE, BLUE & WITE and 2 BLACK CORDS. How do I know which 2 cords I need to connect the resistors too?

    I did the same but mine didn't work. I am sure the wiring I made has no mistake. When I first start the car, there is error code and when I blink the signals, the first 3 blink is fast (hyperflash) then it blinks normal. After using both signals, the error code is gone. Turning the engine off and starting again, the whole process repeats. How can I solve it?

  • @stankatz01

    Btw from my earlier comment, the installer has given out the wrong color code. It is NOT the blue wire you need to tap, he has the ground correct but you need to grab the other wire. Nearly burned up my wiring.

    For a 2014 Chevy Cruze... Im trying to figure out the front and rear turn signal wiring.. Which is the ground.. And the blinker wire? Front is blinker wires are brown and violet? Anybody know?

    • @sarswim6
      @sarswim6 7 років тому +1

      Don't know if you figured this out yet, but grab a multi-meter, set to VDC (volts dc), connect black lead to any ground (battery - terminal, chassis), turn on blinker, and probe pins of signal connector with red lead. The pin that pulses voltage is your blinker power wire.

  • @fikeypoo7480

    Is it standard for Ford to use a blue wire for the power and a black with yellow striped wire for the ground? My Ford Fiesta has the same color scheme in the turn signal wires and I'm nervous about jumping into it without testing the current in each wire.

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 7 років тому

      Ford is not always consistent with their wiring colors. Black with a stripe is a common ground color though.

    Why using four 50w resistors who draws a total of 200 watts to replace four 21w incandescent bulbs who are drawing 84 watts total? Should four 25w resistors for each bulb or one 50w resistor for each side (front and rear) not be sufficient? If I'm not mistaken, each side is one circuit so one resistor of 50w for each side should be enough to prevent hyperflash.

    • @jakemason9436
      @jakemason9436 5 років тому +1

      the Resistors Wattage Rating is defined as the amount of heat that a resistive element can dissipate for an indefinite period of time without degrading its performance. So up to 50 watts. Not operating at 50 watts. 6 Ohms is the resistance.

    I have 2 questions... was wondering if someone could give me hand? I need to install these resistors for my back lights: Turning signals and brake lights. Reading some of the comments, I noticed that it seems a bad idea to use double side type to hold the resistor in place. 1st question: Do they get hot? Is this normal? 2nd question: In my car, there is room to place one of this resistor, thus it is going to be very tight. Some of the original wires will be against the resistor. Does this resistors get so hot that could melt the original wires jacket/insolation? Any advise? Thank you.
