I'm still so overwhelmed by all the lovely feedback from everyone! Y'all rock \m/ Ty everyone who joined us for this convo at Save & Sound yesterday, and thank you to Danny, BYG, and the film crew for this for being such wonderful hosts when I came through the studio. I'm so glad we got to sit down and chat about the music and the awesome collabs that took place.
Working on Rift has been such a wild and fun ride and I could not have asked to work with and learn from a better or more supportive team of artists. Can't wait for y'all to hear the rest of the music!
@@josiebrechner hey, the \m/ is a rocking hand? That's so cute, it took me a bit to figure it out lol
Awesome job on the music! Glass Cages gives _the feels._ I know you're hearing this a lot, but it's nice to say it personally c:
@@f1reflam3 yes! gotta give them the horns, and thank you! it means a lot
Parts of glass cages sounds like the pokecenter theme it's great we finally have something to recharge our souls
What Josie said at 07:21 is, in my opinion, the most amazing aspect of Rift of the Necrodancer’s soundtrack.
Working on this game was a joy due to how open-minded and excited the whole team was towards us guest composers, creating the best environment for cooking fun and wildly eclectic music.
If you end up loving the soundtrack a lot once the game is out, it’s important to note that this music was only made possible due to Danny and the Necrodancer team being so good at making us feel seen, valued & trusted as creatives.
Can’t stress enough how much of a difference this makes!
This collaborative game is going to be in the history. You guys are amazing ❤
You are all honestly such a big inspiration. No doubt I look up to everyone on this team with awe
Hell yeah Alex \m/ I'm so glad we got to work on this together. Just incredibly fun and inspiring getting to see you work behind-the-scenes and trying to rise to the level of your insane prod skills.
I love Glass Cages too ! It's by far my favorite from the demo and the one I've spent most time practising. Can't wait to discover more tracks !
Oh shit y’all screenshots of the new editor and new songs! 👀
Lots of stuff to say.
1. Danny explaining how a 1/6 beat works for us mortals is so sweet to me. My monkey brain just went 'okay, so this one doesn't pay taxes and runs faster'
2. Overthinker. It's not that bad when you practice the zombies patterns. Don't overthink it.
2.1 I wonder if the fact that the muscle man has a ring is important for the story or if it's mostly a design decision.
3. Glass cages absolutely rocks! But there's something about Amalgamaniac that personally clicks so hard to me.
Hoping for full release to break my fingers and get some confidence for impossible songs ❤
"Muscle man" is Hephaestus from the lobby! In greek myth he's god of the forge and despite being the "ugliest" god, he's married to Aphrodite.
@@coldfanta4963 thanks for the clarification, kind human!
My favorite type of interview. I already was fan of Danny and now thx for introducing Josie to me. Such an inspiring personalities.
Danny you did a great job as music director! The songs of the demo life in my head rent free till this point.
This is my first time hearing of it. As I watched I thought "bro, only 3 buttons? This is gonna be too easy and boring, shitty fast."
... then I saw the jumping bats and realized these are crypt of the necromancer monsters. The notes ***move?!*** AND THEIR MULTI NOTES OR HOLD NOTES ARE THE SHIELD SKELETONS?!? BRO THIS IS INSANELY COOL AND INSANELY DIFFICULT. WHERE THE DIFFICULTY COMES FROM PARSING THE INCREASINGLY COMPLEX MOVEMENTS INSTEAD OF JUST ADDING 16 BUTTONS AND BRAGGING ABOUT HOW HARD IT IS!!!
I'm absolutely in love with the glass cages, such a fantastic song
I would love to see an interview with Alex Moukala talking about his creative process as well! :)
I love Glass Cages so much. I gave it my all to beat the imposible difficulty just to listen it more and more. Can't wait for the full game!
This team is COOKING and they are about to burn down the whole kitchen 🗣️🔥🔥
🔥🔥🔥
Ok but when pls I am addicted to the rhythm and I need my amalgamaniac pls pls
I loved Amalgamaniac and Ravevenge but having the switch tone with Glass Cages and Overthinker made me focus on a lot of tracks equally and I loved jumping back and forth listening and learning each tracks.
And I went only for the interview and learned a ton about the creation and how the composer mindset was and to top it all you guys just showed us even more content !
Can’t wait for the release !
can't wait !!
I FUCKING LOVE GLASS CAGES EVER SINCE I HEARD IT WHEN IT GOT RELEASED ON SPOTIFY I WAS ITCHING TO PLAY IT AND THEN WHEN IT CAME WITH THE DEMO I WAS SO EXCITED AND IT FEELS SO DAMN GOOD THANK YOU SO MUCH JOSIE, YOU COOKED SO DAMN WELL!!!
TY ; _ ;
OMG glass cages was my favorite one! It is so groovy, and I am so excited to see the rest of the soundtrack too 😍
Not the mystery tiles that make Everything even harder to read 😭😭😭
😇
Really loving the demo, looking forward to the full game!
3:06 This description paints such a beautiful scene and the Jamiroquai influence feels like it was meant for me. I literally cannot look at Rift of the Necrodancer without associating it with Glass Cages!
really cool hearing about the process, huge fan of the creative environment you're fostering! Very excited for the full release!
Love hearing the insight into the songs and seeing the dev tools! Josie did an amazing job with Glass Cages, she’s really talented :)
7:09 really love the art style !
It's awesome to hear the thought process behind Glass Cages! And Brace Yourself. Don't tell me you're thinking of making a mystery mode for this game
The demo was my first rhythm game and i had an absolute blast playing it. Too bad the impossible difficulties aside from Disco Disaster is too hard for my brain to comprehend.
And I dont usually buy games, but this has me hooked.
aaaah!!!! soooo excited!!!!!!!!
i see alot of new songs being showcased here! im just replaying the intro. i am so hyped for this game! the music so far looks to be genuinely OUTSTANDING. like, the best probably ever written. props to the artists and devs holy
I can't wait for the full release!
so excited for this, and love the energy from the video really wholesome
great interview! ahh I can't wait for the release of the game :)
Waiting for the release, trying to get Ravevenge to SS and getting more Impossible Songs done. Demo already a great game!
When will the soundtrack be released on Spotify?
At launch! We may drop a few singles ahead though :)
@BraceYourselfGames thank you ☺️
I gotta know. Will there be Keyboard support on the switch version? Mostly asking because it was available in Crypt of the Necrodancer and Cadence of Hyrule.
Cannot wait. And I know this may not be a good time to ask this, is cadence being in Quest of Dungeons (3DS, Wii U, Switch, and a few other devices) an official colab? Honestly I wouldn’t even be surprised if you never heard of the game before lol.
When will it be released? I can't wait.
That's cool
is there a release date reveal?
Will rift of the necrodancer release on ps5?
PC and Nintendo Switch at launch. Others tbd for now
@@BraceYourselfGames alright thank you!
When is release!!!
Is the game gonna have a story mode or anything?
