  • This bay window curtain pole is available for 3 sided bay windows www.polesandbli... and 5 sided bay windows www.polesandbli....
The Speedy Nikola bay window pole may be cut to the correct length using a fine tooth saw and can be used to fit a bay window up to 475 cm.
This attractive bay window pole set is also available as a single or double curtain pole for standard windows and also as an eyelet curtain pole. It is not suitable for fitting eyelet curtains in a bay window.
The simple ball curtain finial offers a hint of glamour and style, being a blend between a modern and traditional finish and the clever design of the bay window corner joints means that the pole can easily slot together.
Metal curtain holdbacks can also be ordered to match this bay pole which will help to optimise the amount of daylight passing through the windows as the curtains can be pleated and held fast away from the window opening when they are not in use.
The pole is suitable for light and medium to heavy weight curtains and is ideal for curtain heading types such as pinch pleat or pencil pleat which fit directly onto the specially designed bay window curtain pole rings.
These curtain rings are called C rings as they are able to pass over the corner joints of the pole. Two standard curtain rings are also supplied with the pole which supports the curtains to the first curtain pole bracket and as they are a complete ring, they ensure that the curtains are held fast at the start of the curtain pole each side of the bay.
The curtain rings supplied with the Speedy Nikola bay window poles are lined with nylon so they will glide smoothly along the pole when the curtains are being opened and closed.
The corner joints have a range of movement for bay windows with angles ranging from 110 to 180 degrees. This type of joint is not recommended for 90 degree bends as the curtain rings will not easily pass over the sharp bend in the pole.
The wall fixing brackets match the colour of the pole and are adjustable to allow for various obstructions such as large window handles or deep window sills.
The pole can also be extended out of the bay using an extra pair of 90 degree knuckle joints. This is if you wish your curtains to stack on the wall outside the bay so they are facing you as you look into the bay window.
If you require a 90 degree bend, then please see our related items section and purchase the Adjustable Knuckle corner joint separately.

HOW TO MEASURE A BAY WINDOW FOR CURTAIN POLES.
    1. First decide if you want your bay window curtains to finish inside the bay or to extend out of the bay.
    2. Count the number of flat sections. If your bay window is curved, then please see our site as normally a bay window curtain track will be the best option.
    3. Start at one end of the bay and measure each flat section excluding the curtain pole finial.
If you are still unsure about how to measure a bay window, please see our online guide.

HOW TO FIT A BAY WINDOW CURTAIN POLE.
    1. Find the centre of the bay window and mark the wall.
    2. Positioned the first bracket in the centre of the pole.
    3. Space out the other fixing brackets making sure they clear the corner joints.
    4. Mark the position of the brackets on the wall, drill the holes, fit the rawl plugs and screw the fixing brackets into place.
    5. If you need to alter the length of the pole, then cut equal amounts from each section using a fine tooth saw.
    6. Adjust the elbow corner joints making sure the screw is facing downwards to the correct angle by placing them in a corner of the bay.
    7. Completely assemble the bay pole before you fit it in the brackets.
    8. Use the adjustment screws on the top of the support brackets to align the pole and also to make sure that the curtains clear any window fittings.
    9. Put the special C bay window pole rings on to the pole after the first brackets. Then fit the 2 complete rings at each end of the pole.
10.Tighten all the fixings and fittings firmly and fit the curtain pole finials.
    11. You are now ready to hang your curtains.

We have this curtain pole, its looks really smart once fitted. However it is no way near that smooth as they show. We have the 5 bay version and its an absolute pile of rubbish to use. The gliders on the pole have these plastic inserts, every week, at least one will come loose and fall out and we'll have to get the ladder out and refit it. In the video if you notice she lifts the glider up, you can't do this when your curtain pole is up over 2 meters with curtains hanging down. We are so disappointed with this pole, that we ended up getting the basic white plastic curtain track for our second bay. My advise would be save yourself the hassle and get a standard curtain track.

We're looking to install poles for a 7 side bay window and called this company to ask for advice. I'm glad I read your comments here. Can you let me know if the standard plastic curtain track was any better? Thank you
