Congrats - you chose the BEST version! I love it when Sharon says to Tarja: "You sing it!" and then Tarja goes in with full force, giving all what she has 😍🤩 You can see how much they respect each other and how happy Tarja is to be on stage with them... 🤗

I love the obvious affection that Sharon and Tarja have for one another! This song is actually how they met. When recording it, Sharon felt it needed a more “classical” voice and decided to ask Tarja. The rest is history.

I concur with both of these.
I really do agree with you - Anneke and Sharon are the perfect match in duets - they works together in telling the story.
Tarja is very good solo, but in my opinion, not in duets - she is not good in synchronizing the stage presence in telling the story with her co-singer. But solo - she is delivering the real deal.

Hi Eric, I like to make a suggestion. Within Temptation at a jubilee concert in 2012, Black Symphony, and the song Somewhere, featuring Anneke van Giersbergen. Anneke inspired as front woman of The Gathering mid nineties many later female metal vocalists. i love both Sharon and Tarja...they are the main reason i got into symphonic metal. i recommend to take a look any song from the Black Symphony concert... amazing performance.
Have to say, didn't like the circumstances where NW and Tarja parted ways. But having said that I think Tarja has grown as a singer lots after leaving the band. Love it.
Tarja deserves her place in the development of women in metal. Floor acknowledges her as a inspiration that she could be a lead singer in a metal band. So obviously does Sharon respect her as well.

@@cecyliamaiden1973 After Forever started to play symphonic metal 1997 when Floor arrived. So they where pretty early they started 95 but was more death metal before Floor. Prison of Desire dident came out untill 2000 though.

I love Within Temptation because they are diverse. They aren't always Metal.
Faster is more Rock than Metal but oh such a good song.

Ice Queen was their commercial breakthrough song, and one of my favorites. Try the live version from the 2008 Black Symphony concert.
Paradise (What About Us) is one of a bunch of collaborations they have done, the most recent is Shed My Skin feat Annisokay.

Absolutely concur with this one. The songs/performances of Sharon den Adel and Within Temptation in which the holy triangle really comes forward are The Truth beneath the Rose - ua-cam.com/video/cMPQUyub9Bo/v-deo.html ,fantastic interaction between band and audience and song number two Deceiver of Fools - ua-cam.com/video/9JyIZaTkeSo/v-deo.html , incredible receivement by the audience. Sharon for me is a "Fairy Queen" doing magic with her voice.

'Sharon' is pronounced the English way. With 'Adel' the emphasis is on the first syllable, so on the 'A'.

I was at Hellfest 2016 because Within Temptation were playing. They always enjoy doing the metal festivals. I will be seeing them again in 10 days time. Yes Within Temptation are a great live band.

Hi, I'm new on your channel. :) Can I recommend one japanese rock/metal band? It's my favourite band ever. If you can please react to band The Gazette, I have two suggestions, first is song "Blinding Hope" official live from their UA-cam channel, it's heavy song with harsh vocals (I don't know if you like it), and second is "Baretta" live from 2014, it's not heavy and without harsh vocals. Both songs are in japanese (in "Blinding Hope" pre-chorus is in english), but they have amazing lyrics, if you interested in meaning of songs, then you can find great english translations of this songs online. I would be so happy if you react to this band. :) Have a great day/night. ;)
What a treat, I had no idea you would get to this one so quickly. I really love both of their voices and together they are something special. The video is really good, but I prefer this one so much more. The energy is off the charts

Love watching your reactions to band's and yes again Sharon den adel is a power house and there are so many songs from within temptation and most of the songs all written by them self probably nobody done this suggestion but when they were younger check out the promise from 2002 in werchter so cool and live again 😀 😊

I shot WT several times at M'era Luna Festival and one time I met Sharon at th artist catering. Unfortunately I was just passing by and could say Hi and wish fun and luck for later (they were headliner that day), but her reaction was very nice, kind and natural.
I love this live. It's just your wine-drunk aunties having fun at the holiday karaoke. (The song itself is such a banger, but wow, this one is rough even for the way Wacken's live mixing has been going since 2015. Or 2012? It really, really doesn't sound any better in he crowd either.) The band's just cooking away perfectly and then there's these two Brendas acting out their buddy film climax... it's perfect lol

Thank you so much for your intelligent music reactions, your analysis and insights, I love the way you notice details most reactors usually don't and everything you point out in your videos! It adds so much to the overall reaction experience! And I'm very much inclined to participate in your live streams, that should be awesome! Thank you very much for your channel, love it. I absolutely adore this pyramid structural method you employ to make your analysis of songs and bands, it's brilliant, instructing, enlightening and inspiring really! Well, I've been almost the entire evening watching your NW analysis and just watched your reaction to this Within Temptation gem ft. Tarja, and mate, I fully agree with everything you said! It can be overwhelming in a good way, this song and the composition itself, the performance, all the insane ammount of intense energy going on that creates so much depth, adds many layers and colours to the rendition; it all rushes through the very line (like it was running in your veins) that serves as musical boundary between the wondrous transcendent "awe" and the sensory overload from constant stimuli, until you get to this emotional mind space made up of conflicting yet complementary patterns where you feel it can all become too much at any time, whereas you can't get enough of that!
Now mate, I suppose I could be writing this comment on a more recent video of yours, but I think it fits better here as it is. Well, I wonder if you'd be willing to undertake a fantastic musical journey through Tarja's solo career, I'm very curious to know your thoughts and impressions, I'd be very interested and delighted to see some Tarja analytical reaction videos from you 🥰. Please tell me I can give you my recommendations!, for I have plenty🤣, and if you say so I'll send you my list with a small selection of her songs! Too few people react to her solo stuff and they're missing sooo much, her solo career is brilliant, vast, diverse, a real rabbit hole of epicness and artistic richness, she created a whole new world amidst the Music universe imo! I mean, her solo work is so full of hidden treasures to find out, so 'twould be my pleasure to give you a raw "map" to set sail and get started (that is if you didn't already, I'm new around here)! Her solo work is stunning and different from anything you've seen, and deserves more attention, for Tarja's Music is another epic, life-changing journey, as much as NW's. She's been on road of a long, very successful solo career since after her dramatic departure from NW back in 2005, and she's clearly much happier and finally free to be fully herself, you know, without the "shackles"... and ever growing and maturing vocally and artistically through the years, it's inspiring. Her solo musical rock/metal style (apart from her classical music concerts, Xtmas projects, and other "out of the box" side projects of hers) is very unique and not easily defined, though it still has plenty of the symphonic metal elements as guidelines such as some kinds of guitar riffs, epic orchestral arrangements, dramatic "ingredients" (I love her intrinsic theatrical side lol) and her remarkably dark, powerful operatic vocals (though now she mixes a bit her superb classical singing tecnique with a more "contemporary" style and her strong chest voice in a very singular, non mainstream way). Her solo work is much more versatile and artistic, each album is different, emotionally charged yet very coherent, she incorporates and merges aspects of different stylistic elements, and is always experimenting new things in her music without any fear of exploring the unusual, so you never really know what to expect or what she'll do next, AND I find it magnificent, exciting! Plus, I love the fact that she just walked her own path and found her "artist self", ways to translate her soul into this world through her Art, never trying to recreate her old days with NW, and I absolutely LOVE the results of her choices, I'm sure you'll like it too.
She's simply a fantastic, hard working, super talented and phenomenal artist who's sometimes a bit underrated by some unfortunately, a remarkably beautiful soul too! Such an amazing musician, so creative, expressive, she plays the piano (since she was 6 actually), became a noteworthy songwriter/composer (yes, most of her songs are written and composed by herself), and a producer, collaborator... And a powerful, captivating performer; I love her stage presence and energy too, she always gives all of herself, owns the stage and yet manages to get everyone to shine as well. She's truly one of a kind! I got to see her live a few years ago and man!, what a mesmerizing voice and enthralling presence! She draws in every person in the audience always, and controls the crowd without having to say a word, almost like a spell, as if she's perpetually connected in a magical, almost spiritual level, we feel that and she does too, and knows how to use it! The videos can capture a glimpse of that power, but seeing her live... Wow, it's an entirely different experience! She's much more energetic on stage now than while with NW🤘❤, yet she managed to keep that same majestic aura and otherworldly presence! And at the same time with a distinctly dramatic expression and deep, emotional human renditions! And I don't know how to explain it, but I get this feel from her, in her solo career too and particularly during her NW years, this sort of vibe of like a dark sorceress warrior, Morrighan-like bewitching powerful entity or something lol
Therefore imo, one cannot hope to truly know Tarja as an artist without diving into her stunning solo work too. She's such a great inspiration to me, her voice and renditions give me deep, spiritually magical Eargasms💘A-hem... Sorry about that😜. I just Love her so much! Her heavenly voice and work speak deeply to my soul. Anyway, I hope I convinced you lol, if so please let me know 😉

Sharon and Tarja just seem to fit on the Stage together a Competition of Respect and Communion to the Music , They Make it seem easy they have the Power to hold center behind a Very Powerful Band. Tarja's Voice is Why Tuomas decided to Make "Nightwish" what it has Become not a Folk Rhythm and Blues Band. Seasoned Talent and Strong Music.

Our station here in Nashville had a space that was unused. When my boss and I took over, we were looking around and thought, this would be a cool place to chill with rock stars. So we built our Acoustic Den. Seether were one of our first to come and do a set. Great dudes and had fun hanging out with them. Then a couple years later, while on tour for their next album, they did our Festival show downtown.

@@fredriknilsson6042 the algorithm didnt catch it then. Yes, there are several small reaction channels that have it up right now. But I follow more than a few channels, some large some small, that have ALL had it blocked.

@@fredriknilsson6042 sometimes a channel will get permission too. A&P Reacts has done at least one Witherfall reaction, after having the guitarist on for an interview. And Witherfall always gets blocked, so I'm sure there was permission from publishing, or whoever is in charge of it (the band probably doesnt care 🤷♂️)

I used to use Lou Reed when all it was was audio on SoundCloud, but since moving to video and this site, I get pegged more often than you'd expect. I did a video with no reaction, just me doing an update on the channel, and my intro music got pegged with a copyright strike and I had to inform them that I paid for that library and have the receipts and they still wouldn't let me monetize it. So I just try to be as generic as possible.

Not very fan of Sharon. It seems to me that she sings after has been running half an hour.
Not very fan of Nightwish Tarja era.Too much opera for my ears...however I am in love with her solo career..I bought her 5 studio albums in less than one year...Tarja uses less opera and shows more versatility..and musically speaking I like very much the modern and updated sound of the songs.😊

My in-laws are Dutch and do not flatten names like that. They are “Van” and Van and Den are emphasized because they indicate origin of the family. Van is “from”. Den is “the”.
