Thanks for the reaction, brother. "Love Me Tender" left 'em crying in the aisles. Black velvet in that little boy's smile - black velvet in that slow southern style. Who else could she be singing about than Elvis. I know you know. OMG - that smile.
This beautiful tribute to Elvis gives me chills every time I get to hear it. Thank you Kathryn sooooo much for requesting this gem!!!! You talk all you want Ray,...we are listening ❤❤❤ Shout out to you Ray for quitting smoking!!!! You got this👍💪💪
Other Elvis references, the palomino horse, the black leather jacket, Jimmy Rogers his friend from the first days on Louisiana hayride. Man. I love this tribute to our Elvis. (Judy C.)
@user-zi6zj8nl7d Great comment but just fyi, it's referring to an earlier Jimmie Rodgers (one of the first big legendary Country stars) who was popular, especially in the South, in the 1920's & 30's (& died in the 30's). "Jimmie Rodgers on the Victrola up high..Mama's dancing with baby on her shoulder.." That's who Elvis's parents would've been listening to when Elvis was a baby. The one from Elvis's time on The Louisiana Hayride wouldn't have been around or been known when Elvis was a baby. There's a Ken Burns PBS documentary about the history of Country music (& Bluegrass etc) that follows every step of its development from its earliest days (& the contributing artists & stars). I've never been a big Country fan but found each episode of that documentary fascinating. Ken Burns docs are always highly rated for good reason. If you ever get the chance, watch it. It's worth your time & very entertaining.💙💫
My very favorite tribute to Elvis. She emphasized in an interview that the title had nothing to do with paintings, hair dye or whiskey, but was about his love for black music and his velvet voice.❤❤❤
A lot of artists have songs about Elvis and this is one of them. Love this song describes her love for Elvis. A lot of people don’t pick up that this song is about Elvis did you?
Ray my brother LOL. I am finally at a loss for words. I watched your reactions religiously. I cannot believe you did not know that this was written about Elvis. This was her tribute to Elvis. When she mentioned this song Love Me Tender I thought for sure that's when the light bulb would go off and you would figure it out LOL but that's okay you're still my favorite reactor. I wouldn't miss one of your Elvis reactions for anything. If I was on my deathbed brother I'd still make time to watch your Elvis reaction. I'm just giving you a hard time. I thought for sure though you would have caught on LOL good keep up the good work though
The truth is that when I requested this song, I told Ray it was a tribute to Elvis. Why he didn't say anything in his reaction? Dunno. Maybe he wanted to see who was really listening?
@@Kathryne0816 its a wonderful song. And i love Rays reactions. Wanted to tease him a little about it. Wouldnt miss his reactions for anything. Elvis rocks and so do his fans.
Love the song & your reaction Ray! lol can’t believe you didn’t get it my friend! You always talk about Elvis’s smile Ray! I just knew you was going to holler out Elvis! Congrats Ray on not smoking! You can do it! We know you can! You,Stacy and family have a nice weekend, stay safe, and relax! Hey Vibe Gang you all have a great weekend too! Stay safe, hugs, blessings sent to you all! 👍💞❤️😍👑❤️🧡🎃👻
I know you love Elvis, and I was screaming at my phone trying to tell you, Brudda this song is about Elvis. But I reckon you couldn't hear me. Great reaction 😅 I am an Angel and I follow you doing Our Barefoot Princess. I can imagine Angelina Jordan doing this cover. Hope you're doing well 💗
This song is a tribute to my friend Elvis and you didn't even know lol Love to you and your family from the one and the only Memphis Tn. congrats Ray keep up the good work 13 hrs is a start. I was wtf Ray she mentioned so many things about my sweet Elvis and you missed it
The truth is that when I requested this song, I told Ray it was a tribute to Elvis. Why he didn't say anything in his reaction? Dunno. Maybe he wanted to see who was really listening?
Never knew it was about Elvis but it was on the radio almost every day when I was a kid. I made thr connection when she said Love Me Tender andvivwas like 20
I told you weeks ago to check this out because it was about Elvis. I knew who it was about the second I heard it. I can't believe you didn't catch on R'Elvis Autotune being invented in 1996 is what happened to music. It gradually started being used more and more until finally it didn't matter if the "artist" could sing as long as they had the "look" the studio wanted. Autotune could take care of the rest.
Thank you thank you thank you… I had requested it but thank you Ms. Pope for doing so as well. What a tribute to him. EP is smiling and there’s another one by a gentleman and it’s called Walking in Memphis. You may like it & react to that one too. Have a safe trip w/your family & Ms. Helene as well.🏰🎇🎢🎉🎠✌️
Honey!! Did you not realize this song is about Elvis? Every word of it. Listen again and/or Google the lyrics. It starts with his infancy & goes to his passing & the effect he had on people. Contrary to popular belief, the song title is NOT about the paintings of Elvis on black velvet that used to be popular. Both Alannah & the songwriter have stated that it's not referring to those. "Black Velvet" is referring to his overall mystique. I saw Alannah perform this live when she opened for Robert Plant on his 1989 solo tour, the same summer the song was a hit & all over the radio. She sounded great, terrific bluesy voice, & is a wonderful performer. 💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙
Best song about Elvis. She covers from infancy on. Keep working on your non smoking. You can do it. I got cancer from smoking and luckily, I equated cigarettes to an old friend betraying me. I never wanted another.
Great song! Every word about Elvis. I've had to cut down smoking. I've smoked for 47 years. I have COPD, but it's getting worse. Went to see a pulmonologist a couple of weeks ago. Gave me a different inhaler. I'll be praying for you. It's hard to do..🙏❤😊
Listen... black velvet, Elvis black velvets painting were the rage, his hair dye color was black velvet, love me tender, in a flash he was gone, so many more references ... listen 😊
Alana said in an interview that paintings, hair dye and whiskey had nothing to do with the title of this song. It was all about his love of black music and his velvet voice.
Thank you Miss Kathryne 💖🙏💕 "I could play the xylophone on his ribs. I can see every rib." 😂😂😂 Ray, you are hilarious! And just to share a couple of Mark Twain quotes I think you'd appreciate: 1: "Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world. I know. I did it thousands of times." 2: "Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great." I included the second one because of what you said in your Elvis reaction. I think that quote says all that needs to be said on those of whom that are letting their ugly green monsters rear their heads. You keep on being you Ray 😊👍 Peace ✌, light 🌞, love 💖, & blessings 🙏 to you & yours & to one & all here as well 💕
Ray this song is about Elvis. A tribute to him. Alanna won a Grammy for this. Elvis hair dye was called Black Velvet. May be other reasons it was called Black Velvet. You need to do this again after knowing it is about Elvis. A redo Please!!
I ruined this song for my husband. Told him it was about Elvis. No way. Yup. And as he brought the video up I told him each part in relation to Elvis. He’s not a huge fan. 😂 I’m just laughing waiting for you to make the connection. Still waiting. Come on man! 😅
Ray, black velvet was referring to Elvis! Elvis was portrayed on black velvet a lot during that time. Of course the song was about Elvis! So is black velvet!
I liked your reaction to this song. I'm new to your channel. I like to recommend the best possible songs I can think of that match the vibe of the person. I think you would like a song by Heart called "Cook with Fire", "Sing Child", "White Lightning and Wine" or "Mistral Wind". These are some of my favs. Let me know( reply here) if you listen to any of them. 🙂
She loved Elvis as much as we do. What a tribute what a great singer. Thanks Ray, for this reaction.

Black velvet, the colour of Elvis' hair. Great song.

Black velvet painting of Elvis was in so many places after he passed.

Love this song.,. great tribute to Elvis.
Cowboys are the best. I love her outfit.
Gotta listen to her "Still got this thing for you" one of her harder driving rock songs !!!
Black velvet is elvis's hair dye color he used and his paintings were on some black velvet!
It’s so funny that she’s singing about the man behind you and you didn’t see it! Love ya Ray! Glad you’re quitting smoking!

"Sun is setting like molasses in the sky"... I feel this. This song puts me in that heat. Excellent songwriting & delivery!!
This is a song I've been waiting on you to do! Takes me back every time I hear it, I think I was 14 or 15 when it came out 1987 or '88.
Beautiful Tribute to Elvis!!!❤❤❤❤
Fitting you have all the Elvis in the background since the song is a tribute to him

Black velvet is Elvis's voice. video starts from his childhood home. Song is about him
This song was a tribute song to Elvis. Back in the 70’s Elvis’s image was painted against black velvet.

Oldie but a Goodie!
Keep chewing on the gum while she’s singing about Elvis. This song reminds me of the pictures of Elvis on velvet. Love it!
I just hope you brought enough gum for everybody
Ray, black velvet was referring to Elvis! Elvis was portrayed on black velvet a lot during that time. Of course the song was about Elvis! So is black velvet!
Freddie mercury of Queen made a song about Elvis too called "crazy little thing called love" He wrote the song in the bathtub.
