Tamisha had a colostomy bag attached to her stomach, which explains why she had to wear bulkier dresses around her midsection to hide it, which she claims she hid it from production the whole time. Now imagine having having a bag of your own waste attached to a stoma on your stomach and trying to dance and lip sync and work it? It's not going to happen. I really do commend her for doing what she did with her current disability.
Yeah but if she really didn’t tell production, you can’t expect from production to be aware of the situation an help her with it. Ofcourse you show discomfort on your face when dancing. But I would also have read her on that if I didn’t know she had all that going on.
I think the mistreatment of Rose comes in the final episode where RuPaul makes it painfully clear that Rose had no chance of winning even though Rose statistically did the best. RuPaul showed much more interest in Kandy, Mik & Symone and even went as far as to attempt to cry tears in hopes of winning another Emmy over Gottmik while all Rose got was an A for effort.
But it should not matter if they do the best statistically. Rose is boring and brings nothing new or unique. Just another white queen that the fandom gawks over.

I remeber thinking that the "mean girls" were all gonna be in the bottom 3 so when I saw that Tina and Tamisha were held back on stage, I was thinking "oh yes this is fitting" and then was GAGGED to see that Tina was in the top and Tamisha was in the bottom.
I just wanted to point something out that I don’t hear people talking about. The makeover pairings. If you look closely, each pairing has one of the winning queens and a second queen that they thought could be expandable if the pairing ended up in the bottom 2. The winning queens were practically immune to elimination this episode and the expandable ones were at a big disadvantage.
Agree, "psychic" my ass, the whole judging pairing was there solely to save someone in case they did shitty but their partner did amazing, or to unfairly knock someone out for someone else's mistakes
That's true for all pairs except Kandy and Gottmik, which the producers were clearly pushing the two of them to top 4, and could use the drastic changes whether they did poorly or amazing as an excuse to keep them safe. The makeover episode was 100% designed to eliminate Denali. They knew Olivia had next to no personality on the runway apart from "smiling", and she didn't exactly have much of a recognizable or signature 'look' at the time that you could go "That's Olivia!" So pretty much any queen they paired her with they could easily eliminate, even if that queen did exceptional with the BEST makeover look on Olivia. The whole episode reeked of riggory, they wanted Kandy, Gottmik, Symone, and Rose as top 4, and knew it'd be extremely difficult to eliminate Denali with her doing well in pretty much every challenge and being a phenomenal lip syncer, so the 'judged in pairs in the makeover and picking your partners' was the best way for them to do it.

For Rosé I think you could say the judges clearly didn’t care about her AT ALL. Her main critique all the times was that she couldn’t “let loose”, she “didn’t let herself look ugly” and was “too professional” when that wasn’t the case at all. She entered the werkroom with a fake tooth gap, in the fist main challenge with the whole cast she played a gnome (again, not necessarily a pretty character) and she placed high, and she kept on doing that the whole season long. She took the critique of never letting loose and made the soda commercial, got praise for it, won the challenge, and still the judges kept on saying she was too professional and couldn’t let loose. What?
I saw someone say she got a chad michaels edit and i think they are 100% right, Rose was considered too uptight and professional in a negative way when really i think being good at what you do and taking it seriously is a great thing 😂
I will say when it came down to the finale though, in terms of lipsyncing ability she arguably had no chance of winning the season and rightfully got killed by Kandy.

The only way I saw Rosé being mistreated was in how she was portrayed. Production did /not/ want her to win and so she had no storyline. They talked about how much she “sucked” at the beginning of the season and then picked it up, but if it was just competition based - she had a very good shot at winning. This was never going to be Rosé’s season.

She had no personality and brought nothing new to drag so therefore the producers didn’t have much to work with. Meanwhile, Mik, Symone, and Kandy and even Olivia and Utica all brought something new to the table so it makes sense why the show would highlight them more.

I guess Rosé was somewhat misstreated when we talk about the way the Judges themselves talked about her. Every single time she got criticism it was along the lines of "You are a pro" or "you are the Total Pacage" and nothing else, whereas some queens did the bare minimum and got praised by the Judges as if they had done perfectly( aka Gottmik, Kandy and even Symone on a couple Episodes), but other than that I think her run on the show was pretty fair
They cut her from the show tbh 🤷🏽♀️ she never had any storylines besides having a crush on Denali which I find confusing because if they truly didn’t want her to win why give her the best track recorded? Idk I hope rośe gets treated better if she does all all stars
It's literally just that noone this season came close to as good as Rose did but to a lot of people shes not a very satisfying winner. She knows shes amazing and proved it every episode, what storyline is there with that? The show didn't want her to win and so didn't give her a winners edit. Granted Mik got the winners edit and... didn't win so idk what was happening this season.

It drives me crazy how people critique her lipsync with Kandy as "lackluster" or "boring" and how she was supposedly "by far the worst in the top 4 and would never win with her terrible lip syncs" (bitch where??) when the girl had a broken foot and wa still going around in heels who knows how long during that day when she probably shouldn't have been walking on it in flats without a boot or crutch. For me the worst part is how I kept reading from the "fans" how Rose just did drag cause she failed as an actor. Bitch, the nerve. But that lip sync outfit hurt my eyes. Still one of the most well rounded queens to ever grace the show. But hey, she had no story so the show could not care less about her.

I think Rose played it as a competition similar to Bianca Del Río, being extremely talented. However, Bianca’s personality naturally creates drama, which albeit it slight was enough at the time of season 6, but season 13 is way more about the drama than the talent.
Can I just say that a gotmik vs Utica lipsync in the discomentary episode where Utica probably would have won, would have been a great storyline too since Utica had been in gotmiks shadow for the the whole beginning of the season. It would have been like overcoming your higher authority
i just wanna point out that in the final 4 episode, Rosè’s talk with Ru and Michelle was very weird compared to Symone,GottMik,and Kandy. It seemed as though Ru and Michelle were kinda like “Oh hey girl um yeah, congrats on top 4 but ur not winning”. And then the other girls talks we’re like “OMG WE LOVE YOU😘😘😍❤️❤️🥰🥰🤪🤪🤩🤩🤩🤩”It just cemented the Mistreatment of Rose. There where times Utica should have definitely been in the bottom however, there were times in my personal opinion that she was judged wrong. In the musical challenge it would have been good story line her putting her foot down and getting the part she wanted after not getting the role she wanted in the improv challenge and doing well. Not say she should’ve won but she deserved a high placement then. And in the marketing challenge while not great it did make me laugh and was more interesting than GotMik and Oliva in that challenge who I was not as entertained by.

okay so I want to talk about Tamisha, Denali and Utica: Denali and Tamisha were probably two of the most mistreated queens ever. Tamisha was kinda disabled and had to compete with girls half her age all while having to hide a bag attached to her stomach with her residues under her outfits and performing dances and lipsyncs with it, it was completely unfair how they ignored all of that in the discomentary episode just so they could save Gottmik from the bottom 2. And with Denali it is incredible how much they showed they didn't give a fuck about her, they don't even try to cover which queens they want for All Stars. We just saw it with Jan last season and now with Denali, they know they have pretty much winner potential but they have another favourite for the crown so they just let her stay as long as they need for the audience to love them so later they have the people rooting and hugry for their All Stars season. It is very unfair to me. Also, I do think that if the season had been judged fairy Denali could've easily got to the top 4 and probably snatch the crown considering it was a lipsync smackdown and she is one of the best lipsyncs assassins of all time. Utica definitely was an interesting case... they wanted a corky campy original queen who could also be funny and they got one, just not the way they planned. Utica is nuts and she proved it with a pretty unique kind of humor that they ended up not likeing so they decided to give up on her in the roast.
The producers tried to hide the fact that Gotmik was messing up on the disco challenge by not showing her as much but you could still tell , this is how i knew she was just chosen to stay till the finally and fucked over tamisha
I can't even explain how PISSED I was when they sent Denali home in the makeover episode. It was clear the judges favored the winners circle minus. Ru fawned over Kandy, Symone, and GottMik. And after the first three episodes at best, we knew Symone was gonna win. Which made the season a whole lot less enjoyable.
The bottom in the discomentary challenges should have been Kandy and GottMik. Utica embodied the essence of being yourself during the disco era. GottMik and Kandy did the worst in the choreography and had bad looks
I would argue that the main mistreatment of Rose was that the judges/producers never actually viewed her as a serious contender for the crown. She was simply present, and the only reason they didn't axe her sooner was because she kept continuously doing well. This is why she got absolutely no storylines, very few memorable talking heads moments, and was generally just looked over in place of queens that the judges wanted to push to the audience.
Okay but like Utica’s speaking whale joke was actually funny as even Nina herself laughed at it. If the person who’s getting roasted laughs at the joke then it should’ve been okay
A lot of Utica’s set was really edited. There’s a bunch of cuts in it to make it look even worse than it already was. The Symone and Pumba joke got laughs even but they instantly cut them almost as soon as they started laughing to make it look more awkward.

With Rosé I believe the producers *accidentally* cast someone perfectly suited to ace the challenges of the season. Looking back it is wild that for a season full of acting and musical performance challenges their chosen queens to be shielded were two look queens. Symone and Gottmik would have dominated a season of Balls and photo shoots.
I mean did you see Symone's ball look she constructed, no hate to her, she is an amazing fashionista but there's a huge difference between sewing garments and hiring a designer. Gottmik though I agree with that.
Season 13 seriously feels like season 12 round two. Just look at the first four episodes, excluding the premiere. You have a split opening with a lip sync for the win in episodes one and two. Then you have an acting challenge where the queens don't get to pick their teams and one of the top two queens from the first episode won. Then episode 4 there is a ball based on an item rather than a mote abstract concept like the book ball. Even both ball episodes have lip sync songs with Iggy Azalea as the focus. God season 13 really just fealt far too similar to season 12
To add on: the balls took place after 1 elimination, in which, the queen that could've done well in the ball was eliminated. It could've been a stunt to emphasize the talent and justify the win of the "fashion queen" by making sure they have no difficult competition to deal with despite other queens making better garments, which was the challenge
Didn’t the show make a rule that sharp objects are banned from the runway after what Dusty wore on the Last Ball on Earth? Because if they did, Denali shouldn’t even be allowed to wear skates on the main stage!
One thing is fucking clear: The judges need a fucking vacay. For reals tho. Give me one year without drag race and let Ru and Michelle go to fucking Hawaii or some shit cuz they are burning out. As for the vid i disagree with some points but that's a given: The makeover challenge is one of the best we've seen, I still like Rose's rose and beads looks especially, and overall her wardrobe was one of the most memorable parts of the season, Utica was the only shining light on the season after Joey and Tamisha left, and I think Kandy and Gottmik should have been im the bottom, as Utica took the challenge and, while not totally successful, still made it Utica (u know, like Alaska used to do when she couldn't dance or act), Denali's makeover was kinda crunchy too and she is this heavily defended in the fandom because her mistreatment was too obvious in the first episode and her 100% pure love lip sync is iconic, and I think they eliminated Tamisha just cuz of her health condition getting worse and they didn't wanna have another Eureka situation most likely. But anyway. Lets hope All Stars 6 turns out good, we gon pray.
But tamisha’s condition didn’t worsen, Tamisha was able to do a lot. Tamisha didn’t even fall short most times. I agree with you though we either need new judges or something because the standards they judge by and the critiques were weird and not really fair at times.

i think it was weird that there was a double win in the commercial challenge. it was not done in pairs or anything of that sort. idk why they would've done that though. also i think that rosé winning the rusical was a decision made during casting to compensate for jan not winning last year, so production probably meddled to make this happen (placing tina burner as low)
I feel like Rosé was really overlooked, especially in like review shows. Like it made me so mad. Also Rosé had zero storylines even though they could easily make one via her friendship with Denali. Really though, the problem that this whole thing boils down to is that people love an underdog and the weird lip-sync battle gave the viewers like six. Like I found myself rooting for Tamisha, Denali, Utica, and Rosé more than most of the winner’s circle queens because I wanted to see them succeed more. Also I could taste the producers wanting Denali on an All Stars season. It tasted like disappointment.
The only time I think rose was mistreated was when Symone won with her for the commercial. That episode was kind of roses and I feel like it was a bit of an excuse to give Symone another win.

Thanks for saying that about Tamisha, and Denali with her ice skates. Adjusting to that need puts them back on an equal level to the other queen. It's that argument that in discussions, many people without a disability or illness just don't want to hear. I loved Tamisha and what she stood for, both the not giving up and being okay with having to take it easier due to your body. If she hadn't had that fight with Kandy, they may have been easier on her with their critiques, though like you said, they were going to push that bottom 2, no matter what. It felt very exploitative and I hated how the fandom reacted to it.
I've noticed with newer seasons (along with some international) they seem to be pushing one idea of drag, and very staged. I have no problem with them picking people who will create a narrative, but when it comes to talent, they seem to only think certain types of humour are good, and certain styles of drag are good. I noticed this the most in US 13 and Down Under. I'd honestly be interested to see if there was a Drag Race x Dragula crossover how things could change. It seems like other drag shows don't have such a rigid idea of what drag is when they judge, it's more based on skill rather than "who checks off the most boxes on Ru's drag checklist," and it can be very unfair to those who have different styles, like Utica, Joey Jay, and Denali.
I hated this concept Bc it pretty much told us what queens weren’t going to win. Like once they were in the Loser’s Circle you just knew they weren’t taking the crown.
The only thing I could find for Rose's mistreatment is when she was paired with Tina for makeover challenge (but mostly looked like the challenge was to sabotage Denali completely). They knew these two queens were kind of frenemy, so it was like "now or never" situation. Rose's track record was "too good" for the production but they probably never wanted to crown her. If they didn't do this, her track record would repeat Bianca Del Rio's track record and that would be not easy to crown Symone due to track record. Some people will say that she would failed anyway but people would be more crazy about her elimination if her track record was better. Love them both. Hate the production.

I guess mistreatment Rosé received would be not winning on her own in the soda challenge. We’ve already seen Symones character and her runway look was not particularly (not at all) a beast look.
i think Rosé was mistreated just by the fact that she was in the losing group (yes, as you said, that twist again): this changed totally her storyline, and how she was perceived. in the losing group, she was the redemption queen, the one who will rise from the ashes to be in the final four, becase one losing queen had to be there, but that's all in the winning group, she would have be the easy front-runner, with the best track record, and in the end one who could win the season (if there was not these horrible lipsync battles for the crown for the finale) in fewer words, she could have had a chance to win the season, but lost it because of that twist
Production must be drunk during recording, because they didn't use obvious storylines, for example Rose vs Tina, Denali's frustration over not winning after her episode 3 win or just threw away chances of good tv, f. e. more Tamisha and LaLa Ri' mother-daugther time (or Gottmik and Utica in the bottom in discomentery would be gag worthy, becauce they were on the top episode before that one). I think that they don't care about Rose because they can't milk anything tv worthy, what they did with Jan. I love the queens, but their image is broke or twisted.

On Denali, I am a huge Denali fan, she's one of my favorite Ru girls of all time! But I always thought that Denali's makeup job on Olivia was so rough... there was some mention of the makeup not working in the critiques, but am I the only one who thought Denali's makeup warranted her bottom two elimination, especially because makeup seems to be one of the most important part of makeovers? Genuine question, would love to hear thoughts.
The problem was still that Denali wasn't able to use the look she brought for the episode because they made both queens go out at the same time in each other's looks. So Denali couldn't use the one she brought that needed the other person in the matching outfit to make sense.

You know what I think happened at the ball challenge with gottmik and Utica? Gottmik was obviously casted as the fashion look queen of the season so it was clear that she needs to win the ball challenge but what happened was the production team was NOT prepared for the garment that Utica made in the werkroom as that was something that even the production team could not predict so at the end they have no choice but to put Utica in the top with gottmik but they have to come up with an excuse so that gottmik could win cause if you've seen the whole season they would always try to make gottmik look better than Utica in the challenges just so that can stamp the idea of gottmik being the look queen of the season to us. For example the first episode that lipsync was weird but clearly I don't see the reason to why they would gottmik over utica and then there was the discomentary, they showed utica flopping but barely showed gottmik and almost cut out ALL of her footage in the discomentary and in the commercial challenge, let's be real the bottom should've been Olivia and gottmik like they weren't even funny or memorable, Utica's commercial at least made me laughed and reminded me of those really weird Japanese commercials while Tina's commercial was actually not bad So ya that's my take on that whole situation
Remember when in episode one it was implied that Rose and Tina have some rivalry going on? Instead it was never mentioned again, Tina received weird criticism and Rose had no story line.
Just a quick note : Tamisha didn't had a catheter during filming, but an ostomy bag : a catheter is basically a little tube inserted in your vein to administer medicine or take some blood for analysis. I completely agree with this video, and I think it's one your best analysis into bussiness of Drag Race. Even though I love Utica with all of my heart, she really deserved to be bottom two (and by that, probably eliminated by Kandy) in the Discomentary challenge
I think it was mostly due to her pun being unclear and the look not being “all that” especially when compared to what Utica did, i think what everyone was looking for was a look MADE from a certain strange material rather than a good look BASED on an actual bag, there were definitely worse looks than Joey Jay’s, i personally think if she’d used actual IV bags as a material rather than a pun she would’ve gotten way higher scores
I have my insulin pump attached to my body, but i’m fortunate enough to be able to disconnect it for a period of time while doing sports so that there is only a port with a needle and a short cable still in my body. Not to be dramatic, but i can’t imagine doing any dancing with it attached, because in case the pump was not glued to my body to not be able to move but still attached with a cable, the momentum of a movement is strong enough to rip the port and the needle from my body. Like, she’s recovering, but i’m sure the idea of her bag accidentally detaching during a very energetic dance routine was also a big problem. And she definitely had to spend some of their allowed getting ready time to secure it the best she could. I just have so much respect.
Besides the fact that they had to make up the episodes for celebrity drag race being cancelled, I think one of the main purposes of the first episode was for us to get to know the queens on a more personal level. That's why I think the maxi challenge on the first episode should be a talent show so that the queens can show off their strengths and in doing so, we can get to know them better. Even if nobody gets eliminated, it gives the queens an idea of who their competition is in certain kinds of challenges e.g. somebody who dances well will be competition for a dancing/choreography challenge etc.
They gave Utica a bigger villain edit for bombing a fat joke than they did for Scarlet Adams having an entire racist past.

I think the mistreatment of Rose comes in the final episode where RuPaul makes it painfully clear that Rose had no chance of winning even though Rose statistically did the best. RuPaul showed much more interest in Kandy, Mik & Symone and even went as far as to attempt to cry tears in hopes of winning another Emmy over Gottmik while all Rose got was an A for effort.
But it should not matter if they do the best statistically. Rose is boring and brings nothing new or unique. Just another white queen that the fandom gawks over.

I will never forget my jaw smacking the ground when Denali and Rose were not in the top of the discomentary episode.
I remeber thinking that the "mean girls" were all gonna be in the bottom 3 so when I saw that Tina and Tamisha were held back on stage, I was thinking "oh yes this is fitting" and then was GAGGED to see that Tina was in the top and Tamisha was in the bottom.
And Rose/Denali had the same placements with Mik.....

I just wanted to point something out that I don’t hear people talking about. The makeover pairings. If you look closely, each pairing has one of the winning queens and a second queen that they thought could be expandable if the pairing ended up in the bottom 2. The winning queens were practically immune to elimination this episode and the expandable ones were at a big disadvantage.
Agree, "psychic" my ass, the whole judging pairing was there solely to save someone in case they did shitty but their partner did amazing, or to unfairly knock someone out for someone else's mistakes
That's true for all pairs except Kandy and Gottmik, which the producers were clearly pushing the two of them to top 4, and could use the drastic changes whether they did poorly or amazing as an excuse to keep them safe.
The makeover episode was 100% designed to eliminate Denali. They knew Olivia had next to no personality on the runway apart from "smiling", and she didn't exactly have much of a recognizable or signature 'look' at the time that you could go "That's Olivia!" So pretty much any queen they paired her with they could easily eliminate, even if that queen did exceptional with the BEST makeover look on Olivia. The whole episode reeked of riggory, they wanted Kandy, Gottmik, Symone, and Rose as top 4, and knew it'd be extremely difficult to eliminate Denali with her doing well in pretty much every challenge and being a phenomenal lip syncer, so the 'judged in pairs in the makeover and picking your partners' was the best way for them to do it.

For Rosé I think you could say the judges clearly didn’t care about her AT ALL. Her main critique all the times was that she couldn’t “let loose”, she “didn’t let herself look ugly” and was “too professional” when that wasn’t the case at all. She entered the werkroom with a fake tooth gap, in the fist main challenge with the whole cast she played a gnome (again, not necessarily a pretty character) and she placed high, and she kept on doing that the whole season long. She took the critique of never letting loose and made the soda commercial, got praise for it, won the challenge, and still the judges kept on saying she was too professional and couldn’t let loose. What?
I saw someone say she got a chad michaels edit and i think they are 100% right, Rose was considered too uptight and professional in a negative way when really i think being good at what you do and taking it seriously is a great thing 😂
I will say when it came down to the finale though, in terms of lipsyncing ability she arguably had no chance of winning the season and rightfully got killed by Kandy.

The only way I saw Rosé being mistreated was in how she was portrayed. Production did /not/ want her to win and so she had no storyline. They talked about how much she “sucked” at the beginning of the season and then picked it up, but if it was just competition based - she had a very good shot at winning. This was never going to be Rosé’s season.

I guess Rosé was somewhat misstreated when we talk about the way the Judges themselves talked about her. Every single time she got criticism it was along the lines of "You are a pro" or "you are the Total Pacage" and nothing else, whereas some queens did the bare minimum and got praised by the Judges as if they had done perfectly( aka Gottmik, Kandy and even Symone on a couple Episodes), but other than that I think her run on the show was pretty fair

I think Rose played it as a competition similar to Bianca Del Río, being extremely talented. However, Bianca’s personality naturally creates drama, which albeit it slight was enough at the time of season 6, but season 13 is way more about the drama than the talent.
Can I just say that a gotmik vs Utica lipsync in the discomentary episode where Utica probably would have won, would have been a great storyline too since Utica had been in gotmiks shadow for the the whole beginning of the season. It would have been like overcoming your higher authority

There where times Utica should have definitely been in the bottom however, there were times in my personal opinion that she was judged wrong. In the musical challenge it would have been good story line her putting her foot down and getting the part she wanted after not getting the role she wanted in the improv challenge and doing well. Not say she should’ve won but she deserved a high placement then. And in the marketing challenge while not great it did make me laugh and was more interesting than GotMik and Oliva in that challenge who I was not as entertained by.

okay so I want to talk about Tamisha, Denali and Utica:
Denali and Tamisha were probably two of the most mistreated queens ever. Tamisha was kinda disabled and had to compete with girls half her age all while having to hide a bag attached to her stomach with her residues under her outfits and performing dances and lipsyncs with it, it was completely unfair how they ignored all of that in the discomentary episode just so they could save Gottmik from the bottom 2.
And with Denali it is incredible how much they showed they didn't give a fuck about her, they don't even try to cover which queens they want for All Stars. We just saw it with Jan last season and now with Denali, they know they have pretty much winner potential but they have another favourite for the crown so they just let her stay as long as they need for the audience to love them so later they have the people rooting and hugry for their All Stars season. It is very unfair to me. Also, I do think that if the season had been judged fairy Denali could've easily got to the top 4 and probably snatch the crown considering it was a lipsync smackdown and she is one of the best lipsyncs assassins of all time.
Utica definitely was an interesting case... they wanted a corky campy original queen who could also be funny and they got one, just not the way they planned. Utica is nuts and she proved it with a pretty unique kind of humor that they ended up not likeing so they decided to give up on her in the roast.
The producers tried to hide the fact that Gotmik was messing up on the disco challenge by not showing her as much but you could still tell , this is how i knew she was just chosen to stay till the finally and fucked over tamisha
I can't even explain how PISSED I was when they sent Denali home in the makeover episode. It was clear the judges favored the winners circle minus. Ru fawned over Kandy, Symone, and GottMik. And after the first three episodes at best, we knew Symone was gonna win. Which made the season a whole lot less enjoyable.
The bottom in the discomentary challenges should have been Kandy and GottMik. Utica embodied the essence of being yourself during the disco era. GottMik and Kandy did the worst in the choreography and had bad looks
I would argue that the main mistreatment of Rose was that the judges/producers never actually viewed her as a serious contender for the crown. She was simply present, and the only reason they didn't axe her sooner was because she kept continuously doing well. This is why she got absolutely no storylines, very few memorable talking heads moments, and was generally just looked over in place of queens that the judges wanted to push to the audience.

A lot of Utica’s set was really edited. There’s a bunch of cuts in it to make it look even worse than it already was. The Symone and Pumba joke got laughs even but they instantly cut them almost as soon as they started laughing to make it look more awkward.

With Rosé I believe the producers *accidentally* cast someone perfectly suited to ace the challenges of the season.
Looking back it is wild that for a season full of acting and musical performance challenges their chosen queens to be shielded were two look queens. Symone and Gottmik would have dominated a season of Balls and photo shoots.
I mean did you see Symone's ball look she constructed, no hate to her, she is an amazing fashionista but there's a huge difference between sewing garments and hiring a designer. Gottmik though I agree with that.

Season 13 seriously feels like season 12 round two. Just look at the first four episodes, excluding the premiere. You have a split opening with a lip sync for the win in episodes one and two. Then you have an acting challenge where the queens don't get to pick their teams and one of the top two queens from the first episode won. Then episode 4 there is a ball based on an item rather than a mote abstract concept like the book ball. Even both ball episodes have lip sync songs with Iggy Azalea as the focus. God season 13 really just fealt far too similar to season 12
To add on: the balls took place after 1 elimination, in which, the queen that could've done well in the ball was eliminated. It could've been a stunt to emphasize the talent and justify the win of the "fashion queen" by making sure they have no difficult competition to deal with despite other queens making better garments, which was the challenge

As for the vid i disagree with some points but that's a given: The makeover challenge is one of the best we've seen, I still like Rose's rose and beads looks especially, and overall her wardrobe was one of the most memorable parts of the season, Utica was the only shining light on the season after Joey and Tamisha left, and I think Kandy and Gottmik should have been im the bottom, as Utica took the challenge and, while not totally successful, still made it Utica (u know, like Alaska used to do when she couldn't dance or act), Denali's makeover was kinda crunchy too and she is this heavily defended in the fandom because her mistreatment was too obvious in the first episode and her 100% pure love lip sync is iconic, and I think they eliminated Tamisha just cuz of her health condition getting worse and they didn't wanna have another Eureka situation most likely. But anyway. Lets hope All Stars 6 turns out good, we gon pray.

i think it was weird that there was a double win in the commercial challenge. it was not done in pairs or anything of that sort. idk why they would've done that though.
also i think that rosé winning the rusical was a decision made during casting to compensate for jan not winning last year, so production probably meddled to make this happen (placing tina burner as low)

I feel like Rosé was really overlooked, especially in like review shows. Like it made me so mad. Also Rosé had zero storylines even though they could easily make one via her friendship with Denali. Really though, the problem that this whole thing boils down to is that people love an underdog and the weird lip-sync battle gave the viewers like six. Like I found myself rooting for Tamisha, Denali, Utica, and Rosé more than most of the winner’s circle queens because I wanted to see them succeed more. Also I could taste the producers wanting Denali on an All Stars season. It tasted like disappointment.
The only time I think rose was mistreated was when Symone won with her for the commercial. That episode was kind of roses and I feel like it was a bit of an excuse to give Symone another win.

I'm English but I studied Russian at uni and have been there twice. That Russian bot part was so cringey to me. The comment about the red white and blue flag of the USA whilst using the soviet flag even though that place doesn't exist anymore and Russia's flag uses the same colours, the Nikita name thing, the stereotypes of Russians in general in that small segment etc I could go on. It wasn't a good rusical, the queens did well with what they had, and that part didn't help improve it lmao

Thanks for saying that about Tamisha, and Denali with her ice skates. Adjusting to that need puts them back on an equal level to the other queen. It's that argument that in discussions, many people without a disability or illness just don't want to hear. I loved Tamisha and what she stood for, both the not giving up and being okay with having to take it easier due to your body. If she hadn't had that fight with Kandy, they may have been easier on her with their critiques, though like you said, they were going to push that bottom 2, no matter what. It felt very exploitative and I hated how the fandom reacted to it.
I've noticed with newer seasons (along with some international) they seem to be pushing one idea of drag, and very staged. I have no problem with them picking people who will create a narrative, but when it comes to talent, they seem to only think certain types of humour are good, and certain styles of drag are good. I noticed this the most in US 13 and Down Under. I'd honestly be interested to see if there was a Drag Race x Dragula crossover how things could change. It seems like other drag shows don't have such a rigid idea of what drag is when they judge, it's more based on skill rather than "who checks off the most boxes on Ru's drag checklist," and it can be very unfair to those who have different styles, like Utica, Joey Jay, and Denali.
The judges literally just make up the rules as they go each season. I think that’s what ruffles all our feathers, totally ruins the seasons
I hated this concept Bc it pretty much told us what queens weren’t going to win. Like once they were in the Loser’s Circle you just knew they weren’t taking the crown.
The only thing I could find for Rose's mistreatment is when she was paired with Tina for makeover challenge (but mostly looked like the challenge was to sabotage Denali completely). They knew these two queens were kind of frenemy, so it was like "now or never" situation. Rose's track record was "too good" for the production but they probably never wanted to crown her. If they didn't do this, her track record would repeat Bianca Del Rio's track record and that would be not easy to crown Symone due to track record. Some people will say that she would failed anyway but people would be more crazy about her elimination if her track record was better. Love them both. Hate the production.

I guess mistreatment Rosé received would be not winning on her own in the soda challenge. We’ve already seen Symones character and her runway look was not particularly (not at all) a beast look.
i think Rosé was mistreated just by the fact that she was in the losing group (yes, as you said, that twist again): this changed totally her storyline, and how she was perceived.
in the losing group, she was the redemption queen, the one who will rise from the ashes to be in the final four, becase one losing queen had to be there, but that's all
in the winning group, she would have be the easy front-runner, with the best track record, and in the end one who could win the season (if there was not these horrible lipsync battles for the crown for the finale)
in fewer words, she could have had a chance to win the season, but lost it because of that twist
Production must be drunk during recording, because they didn't use obvious storylines, for example Rose vs Tina, Denali's frustration over not winning after her episode 3 win or just threw away chances of good tv, f. e. more Tamisha and LaLa Ri' mother-daugther time (or Gottmik and Utica in the bottom in discomentery would be gag worthy, becauce they were on the top episode before that one).
I think that they don't care about Rose because they can't milk anything tv worthy, what they did with Jan. I love the queens, but their image is broke or twisted.

On Denali, I am a huge Denali fan, she's one of my favorite Ru girls of all time! But I always thought that Denali's makeup job on Olivia was so rough... there was some mention of the makeup not working in the critiques, but am I the only one who thought Denali's makeup warranted her bottom two elimination, especially because makeup seems to be one of the most important part of makeovers? Genuine question, would love to hear thoughts.

The problem was still that Denali wasn't able to use the look she brought for the episode because they made both queens go out at the same time in each other's looks. So Denali couldn't use the one she brought that needed the other person in the matching outfit to make sense.

You know what I think happened at the ball challenge with gottmik and Utica? Gottmik was obviously casted as the fashion look queen of the season so it was clear that she needs to win the ball challenge but what happened was the production team was NOT prepared for the garment that Utica made in the werkroom as that was something that even the production team could not predict so at the end they have no choice but to put Utica in the top with gottmik but they have to come up with an excuse so that gottmik could win cause if you've seen the whole season they would always try to make gottmik look better than Utica in the challenges just so that can stamp the idea of gottmik being the look queen of the season to us.
For example the first episode that lipsync was weird but clearly I don't see the reason to why they would gottmik over utica and then there was the discomentary, they showed utica flopping but barely showed gottmik and almost cut out ALL of her footage in the discomentary and in the commercial challenge, let's be real the bottom should've been Olivia and gottmik like they weren't even funny or memorable, Utica's commercial at least made me laughed and reminded me of those really weird Japanese commercials while Tina's commercial was actually not bad
So ya that's my take on that whole situation

Just a quick note : Tamisha didn't had a catheter during filming, but an ostomy bag : a catheter is basically a little tube inserted in your vein to administer medicine or take some blood for analysis. I think it was mostly due to her pun being unclear and the look not being “all that” especially when compared to what Utica did, i think what everyone was looking for was a look MADE from a certain strange material rather than a good look BASED on an actual bag, there were definitely worse looks than Joey Jay’s, i personally think if she’d used actual IV bags as a material rather than a pun she would’ve gotten way higher scores
I have my insulin pump attached to my body, but i’m fortunate enough to be able to disconnect it for a period of time while doing sports so that there is only a port with a needle and a short cable still in my body. Not to be dramatic, but i can’t imagine doing any dancing with it attached, because in case the pump was not glued to my body to not be able to move but still attached with a cable, the momentum of a movement is strong enough to rip the port and the needle from my body. Like, she’s recovering, but i’m sure the idea of her bag accidentally detaching during a very energetic dance routine was also a big problem. And she definitely had to spend some of their allowed getting ready time to secure it the best she could. I just have so much respect.
Besides the fact that they had to make up the episodes for celebrity drag race being cancelled, I think one of the main purposes of the first episode was for us to get to know the queens on a more personal level. That's why I think the maxi challenge on the first episode should be a talent show so that the queens can show off their strengths and in doing so, we can get to know them better. Even if nobody gets eliminated, it gives the queens an idea of who their competition is in certain kinds of challenges e.g. somebody who dances well will be competition for a dancing/choreography challenge etc.
