학원 Hak won is a pretty cutthroat place. There is not much upward mobility at all. 24k a year at 26 is fine, but imagine a similar wage at 35. The place teachers usually live is just a small studio room, which is nowhere desirable in Korea 🇰🇷 (speaking from korean perspective)
