Great idea and I’m sorry to ask so long after the video was made, but my strap is lopsided and I can’t work out how to tighten up the start side or lengthen the end side. Any help/advice would be great. Thanks.
Just crochet off,all the st .Than pull a big loop when you have just one loop at the hook ,than cut the loop in half or on top and pull the yarn.You will end up with a long end at the right side.I hope it makes sense :-)
Sorry for my late reply,just now saw your message .I usually take the metalic ring and insert in it one strand for each stitch at the both ends of the strap .I dont know how good i am at explaining it .Sorry :-)

how does this tie off? do you do a line of single crochet into the front/working line?

It’s similar to t shirt yarn but it’s like a tube.Somewhere in the description box might be the link to it
how do you finish of the stitch to finish the strap?
At the lat row pull through all stitches and cut the yarn at the side you pulled.

How do you take it off?
In the case of the "Triangolina" bag i never took it off.
How to finish last row
Just pull the yarn through all the loops as the other rows and cut.I left some more yarn so i could sew cos i used it for my triangular bag
