@Robert C. Christian The top 6 school shootings weren't in the United States. However there is a problem, and we need to fix it. It's just that other countries don't talk about it.
@Robert C. Christian As soon as the Dunblane massacre killed a class of 5-6 year old's, the UK government banned hand guns. It's a step in the right direction but they need to remove assault rifles too. New Zealand has just passed a law banning the AR15 which is an even bigger move in the right direction. A lot of Americans are hooked in the 2nd amendment which was written when fire arms meant a musket. The very least that could happen is mental health background checks before handing over a gun to just anyone.
Dylan and Eric, These 2 sons of bitches inspired a school shooting that occurred in Torreón México by a boy of only 12 years old! To that degree these problems and social networks can influence a small child to injure 6 children, kill his teacher and finally commit suicide.
Dude have y’all seen how they got treated? They were ignored when depressed they were mentally ill and yet the school chose to ignore maybe if they didn’t this would have never happened
far be it for kids to grow a pair and stand up for themselves without someone having to do it for them. kids are over sensitive pussies these days, that's the real problem
It wasn't just bullying. Bullying is an issue and shouldn't ignored, but it doesn't justify their actions. On top of that there was a ton of mental illness at play as well as their worship of Hitler and wanting to practice eugenics. If anything the adults around them should have picked up on the signs of mental illness as well as strange fascinations with murder and violence.
+UnchartedGamer Maybe some of it but being a Psycopath doesn't come from bullying. Bullying does some damage to the mind but not enough to cause Psychopathic behaviour. I never said bullying is okay or that it didn't have a part to play. But to blame immaturity on very well crafted and strategic murder is not logical. They showed signs of being mentally unstable and if the teachers and parents, the grown adults, had paid attention and done something then it may not have happened. If the stupid immature kids had not bullyed them it may not have happened. But it still comes down to the fact that these kids made a choice. They made the choice to target teens of color, immaturity, and Christianity. All I said was blaming the teachers for not stopping the bullying or the bullies them selves doesn't change the fact that they made the choice to murder innocent lives. I personally think the teachers should have listened to the red flags. You can't eliminate all bullying but you can pay attention to your students and if something is odd or wrong in your class. There were plenty of red flags. But again, in the end they made the choice and they should take the blame for their actions.
This happened on my birthday. I have been obsessed with it.. I have watched so many videos and look for more that I haven't seen of them. It was this that made me the kid I became in highschool. Any new kids I would run up and greet make sure they felt good and excepted. Found out what they were into basketball, baseball ECT ect and try to help them in the rite direction. I was actually thanked years later for being who I was and helping the new kids or the "out cast" I just didn't want anyone to feel left out and turn to such a tragedy like this..
Thank you all so much. It means a lot. I never was in a group myself. But I tried to look at the bright side of them. If you play sports and your comfortable around other people into sports your going to be around them like the "jocks" it not all bad your just sharing an interest.. it when the groups start fighting thats NOT GOOD. I guess I was in my own little bubble trying to see the bright side and peacemaker.
I was 9 when Columbine occurred. It was the first time I had ever heard of anything like that happening in a school and I felt like school had changed forever after that. Every time I would hear about a shooting at a school after 1999, all I could think about was Columbine. I thought I was overreacting sometimes when I would tell people that Columbine was the tragic spark that seemed to start it all
In 1999 I was a Yr old so I really had no Knowledge until around Middle school were Sandy Hook happened & it was like a Punch to the Gut,(Unexpected), And My Teachers would always say never say "It can never happen" cause many places never thought would happen yet it did & our Lockdown Practice someone would Jingle the Door & Would start to get my Heart Racing, Once I got to HS I was more Aware of it,(Matter of Fact this wasn't a Shooting), But once some crazy Dude entered the office & Jumped on Student Back it all got resolved an such, We even had a Preventive Measure our english 4th Period said "If Someone came in here right shot door or was tryna get through here only certain number will survive, Which made us all go white in the face & get Cold, Told one of Volunteer Fireman Students, Bust the window I'll either Block door & try to hold back with desk or Wrestle the gun from The shooter, Closet came to a "Shooting" in my Student yrs was a Lady went Bonkers next door they Blocked off Street with News Van & Cop's but really didn't make sense instead of taking alt route when we got on the Bus they drove right past where shooter was & told us "Stay away from Windows" .
@@Frosty98206 that is very traumatizing. I didn't learn about schools having active shooter drills until I was an adult. There was not much in place when I was a school-aged child for preventative measures, mainly because the shootings then were not as numerous as they are now. The type of school which may have had concerns about shootings back then may have been the ones that had issues with gangs. But school has gotten worse on the most part. I say this as someone who tutored for ten years. People's trigger happiness has gotten out of control and it is very sad
My friend literally wore a trench coat to school, and he was bullied relentlessly when he was younger, had a horrible family upbringing trauma, and depression. He still is one of my closest friends to this day. He never shot up his school or even thought of doing it, just a wore a trench coat to intimidate people and send a message. He was searched and called to the office for suspicious activity, but they didn't find anything. But yeah he might have thought about hurting his bullies at some point but never did. He low key is a genius in the sense that he used Psychological warfare to crush his enemies and break their spirits to make sure they never even thought of hurting him. And plus you can't really get in trouble for that, it's easier to cover your tracks if you know what you're doing. So yeah
i knew the kid who planned it in tampa. he was really shy and quiet. got bullied a lot, personally if you want to stop it maybe do something about bullied but that’s my idea 🤷🏻♀️
Michael Terrell nah Eric wanted to be powerful lol and using guns are for weak people lol. The strong can ignore it lol. Also 5"8 Is short for a kid who wanted to be powerful lol. 5"9 and over isn't lol not because goku was 5"9 lol
It is not a matter of excusing them, but of preventing those things that make people under a pressure that could make them snap like this. Too many people (and lots of teachers among them)still think bullying is a good thing because it strengthen character...They should know that this tragedies are just the worst of the consequences of bullying, most of bullied people don't go on a shooting rampage, but have their lives and their minds ruined because of it...
Yea i hate it too when things happen to me and i dont want it, oh wait i gotta work tomorrow.....its called bieng an adult and dealing with it and not whining about it like a toddler and not doing something stupid like an idiot
i like the dude who discussed how he was bullied and influenced by the shooters, but was able to regather himself and startf resh as a new and improved, overall better man, salutations dude
I remember hearing this when I was around ten. I was too young to understand. It wasn’t until today I came across a PSA from Sandy Hook Promise. I never thought about it, but it must be absolutely terrifying to go to school in the USA. If educating myself makes me appear on the ‘FBI Watch List’, so be it.
As someone who lives in the US,, Yeah it is terrifying sometimes. Especially in places with more violence. They even sell bullet-proof backpacks here for elementary school kids :/
@@oldironsides4107 Nobody around YOU is terrified to go to school. The Us is giant and there are places that have far more violence then wherever you may live. You weren't afraid when you were a kid because it wasn't happening all the time. Your kids aren't afraid as far as you are aware because, again, you probably don't live in an area with gun violence. The reason shootings didn't happen as much when you were young is most likely because there wasn't something like the Columbine shooting, which "inspired" other deranged people to start shooting up other schools. Sorry if that made no sense or if that was rambly btw. Just please don't assume that "No one is afraid" when I have talked to people and heard many horrible stories about the violence they encountered when they were in school !!
@@briiickiii3356 Back in the day, the media didn't glorify and worship psychopathy and narcissism. Now you see American culture is absolutely obsessed with it and actually rewards that behavior. Narcissism, self worship, this entitled idea that one's own self should dramatically impact all of society and the world around them, rather than seek happiness or live in harmony with a community or environment. The truth is that most of society was happier in the 20th century and overall more peaceful in the period 1945-1990. There was always violent crime, but ordinary people tended to separate themselves from criminals and their behavior, more black and white thinking. Now the lines have become so blurred, it's easy for people now to see more of themselves in even the worst of people. You just don't see this in a lot of other countries. Some have said it's their gun control laws but it isn't. The happiness index is much higher, access to good quality care, work-life balance for parents is better so more focus on their family and kids' well being, as well as less torment, neglect, and bullying prevalent in society in Canada and Australia for instance. Talking from personal experience having stayed for a time in both places. People are overall much less likely to commit crime against each other when other options make it easier for people to attain their needs.
Good advice from that last guy, Cossey. I'm glad he was caught before he could commit the act and was able to have success in therapy. Kids, don't allow anger and/or sadness to be bottled up, if you're going through stuff talk to your school concert, your parents, your best friend's parents, somebody you trust. You can get through these hardships.
@@donjoey22 there are gun laws. Killings and mass murders will never stop, guns or not. There's always a way to kill somone. +Improvised Weaponry On my Tumblr I post pictures of cats and the vampire diaries. I think there are people who like to label themselves as feminists without knowing the actual meaning. I think there should be someone to speak up for mens rights too, they get abuse too, unfortunetly society has put a stigma on men (saying that they should be more manly) what exactly is 'manly?' so i think alot of men don't feel like they can speak out, which is ridiculous, and really sad
4:50 sheds a ton of light. "When I heard these kids were bullied...that's why they did what they did." Bullying is the real culprit, I think. It triggers the fight-or-flight response. I was bullied as well when I was their age. I chose to flee rather than fight. In my heart-of-hearts, I really think bullying is what we need to stop. I don't know how (somebody smarter than me is going to have to figure that out). If we could just get American teenagers to stop bullying each other, I think incidents like this would decrease in a big way.
The thing is all of this happens because of bullying, teachers say that *if there is ever someone bullying you, come to us. But when we go to them they send us off and act like they did something but they really didn't.* I don't get it.
Most parents aren't qualified to be teachers. Each teacher has an educational background in a certain field. There are exceptions to this but if more people are home schooled American society will continue to be dumbed down.
Damien Holland I homeschooled my kids with zero regrets. There are many resources to helo teach kids, and it us absolutely unnecessary to have a teaching certificate to be able to teach kids well. In fact, studies have shown that most homeschooled kids far excell in scholastic scores over public school kids. There are a number of colleges who actively recruit homeschoolers because of their proven academic excellence. My two daughters graduated with 4.0 scores from community college, then went on to graduate suma cum laude from Virginia Tech. The youngest got her undergrad from University of Tennessee, also suma cum laude. Look at public school statistics. Look at the scores, number of drop outs, and other problems in public schools. Our public schools have failed miserably and are in crisis.
The First Pharoah TV Spot on! I homeschooled my kids and have no regrets. Other homeschooled kids I know are confident, self-motivated, hard working, exceptional students, excelled in college.
It's sad. We recently had a kid pull a fire alarm and start walking outside with a gun and our SRO tazed him just before he could start. He was an outcast too, he talked about columbine too. I know he did because he saw me as a friend.
One time there was a kid in the bathroom with me. I heard a loading and then gun shots. I was impacted. I survived. He killed 20 people. After being impaled and bleeding, I layed on the bathroom floor for help. The kid said he wanted to kill me but plans didn’t go right. He was arrested.
+gartios11 actually, according to Dylan's journal, he didn't seem full of very much hate for quite some time. He was fairly poetic. It was only after while he'd started to get very depressed.
Higher injury count is better than high death count because it drains resources and is supposed to scare people more but people are dumb and only care about body count. 8 injured isn't as scary as 8 killed apparently
It doesn't happen only in USA. In April 17th 2011 a guy killed 12 students in Brazil and then killed himself. He had an account in a forum and he posted something like: "We're gonna have a massacre in a few days, Columbine style." No one took the guy serious, so he went to his school and did it.
All of these shooters obviously have mental problems, which could be helped before all of this even happened. It's so sad that they've been driven to doing something so awful.
Maybe the ones who are mad are the ones who just go along with the status quo getting fucked by the system. You'd need to be mad not to want to flip at the way the world is today. It's so unfair.
Absolutely not true. It's what the media wants us to believe, but it's not true. Kids have been bullied since Cain killed Abel, and those bullied didn't go on murderous rampages. Kids in my generation (Baby Boomers) and those prior to it were around guns from childhood. Many boys got rifles at age 8 or 10 and started hunting with their dads, so guns were easily accessible. Boys would even mount their rifles in the cab of their pickups and leave them there, even when they went to school. Kids who were bullied in those generations didn't go on shooting sprees! The problem is NOT bullying, and it is NOT GUNS. It is the removal of God from public and private life, and the breakdown of families, with so many boys growing up without a father. If you research the boys who did school shootings since Columbine, you'll see that a majority of them didn't have fathers in their homes, or their fathers were weak and unavailable. It's the same thing we see in gangs.
Karen Natelle Callis Fuller im an atheist and I do agree that the threat that there is an existence of hell is enough to make people rethink their wrongdoings.
i definitely felt a wave of relief when i graduated high school last year. since i was in middle school, a lot of these shootings were happening everywhere and all of us were scared, right under the surface, of going to school because it seems to be happening everywhere, to anybody. rest in peace to the victims of these awful massacres 💔

Legalize Ranch Bad role models I agree. Don't give them too much attention, but focus on how they got there, what needs to be done differently. Less access to weapons, focus on bullying prevention and child protection, better access to mental health care.
It’s weird that they look at Dylan as some victim in this almost. He was the first person out of the two to mention the idea of the school shooting in his journal. He was especially cruel during the shooting. What really disturbs me is thinking even if Eric was the “born psychopath” out of the two, he didn’t need just as much help. Ultimately they were both very disturbed. They both did the same act.
just like how bullying isn’t an excuse for them to do it. Who cares if they were bullied? So many people get bullied and struggle with mental health every day. And still, they don’t do something like this. There are other ways. Like fear and intimidation factors that don’t involve becoming a mass murderer or even harming others. It can literally just be a body language tactic to tell whoever is messing with you to F off. I know of and have heard plenty of people who have been bullied but would never even think to do this.
+deeagle From the readings that I have done the conspiracies that linger about Columbine mostly deal with other shooters and Eric's father's military Intel ties.
Well, there were enough witnesses to say that Eric and Dylan WERE a part of the killings. Whether or not there were others involved does not mean it did not happen.
I feel a bit afraid because I've seen a lot of kids having their mental issues getting real bad because of the lockdowns, and I feel like there might be a surge of shootings here because of that.
If you feel this type away im here for you ik its tuff you're stronger then that and you're loved and please love yourself and quit worrying about other people stay strong we love ya!!!!
Loving these comments... "It's a gun rights issue!" "It's a Mental Health issue!" Then they argue about who is correct, with hostility... You guys ever think that its an issue of both? We should be working together to solve these issues... Yes it's true that there is easier access to guns in the US than other countries But these people wouldn't shoot if they were right in the head! It's that America is the perfect storm for lack of mental support and easy access to weapons Complex issues require more than just Choice A or Choice B to solve them. We need both parties and the public to realize that and work together...
At 3:14 That's my highschool, I was there that day when Al Castillo 2:38 shot up Orange High School in Hillsborough North Carolina. I was in one of the classrooms to the left of the courtyard and my brother was in one to the right. Al Castillo was in my brothers class and the guy was always a bit off. It was lunch when Castillo walked into the courtyard shown in the picture 3:14 and started shooting randomly. Castillo was planning to do a lot more at the school after killing his father but Deputy "Doofy"(Ivy) held Castillo at gunpoint when his gun jammed and my driving instructor LeBlanc who used to be a state trooper tackled him. When they searched his vehicle they found a duffle bag full of pipe bombs. Some think he didn't want to kill anyone else at the school and just went there as a place to surrender after killing his father. They said he was military trained and could have easily killed more if he wanted to. I'm not sure how accurate that is, maybe he just wanted attention because he was never that popular and seemed like the kind of guy people would pick on. He was a year or so older than me so I didn't really know him that well. I feel bad for his sisters and what they had to go through.
Wow... not everyone in America are bullies.. a hand full just aren't brought up right or have terrible lives...like anyone else in the WORLD would be if they had a terrible life... of course gives them no excuse to be complete asses... but you get what I'm saying. and maybe you should stop labeling certain people with stereotypes you hear and actually find out for yourself.

Now, columbine you can kinda understand cause when your a quiet individual and people mess with you. Theres, no telling what that person is capable of doing.
Schools foster that kind of behaviour... when you put together large groups of teenagers bullying will happen and eventually lead to such outcomes. The chilling legacy is the failure of schools to provide a safe environment.
I am a senior right now and I think to myself every day any student could hurt me without knowing they have a gun or knife in their backpack.I know there is more safety In high schools now but this can happen anytime still.
CAPTAIN RBG telling on the bully is called being a snitch and he physically can’t beat up the bully so he shot the bully so technically he did stand up for himself
Can you imagine if Eric and Dylan knew they would be this famous for what they did 24 years later? That’s the fkd part about it. They really did achieve what they wanted. Rot in pieces.
My school was almost in a shooting bc this deranged woman from Florida, I believe, wanted to reenact columbine. My school is in the columbine area so we were a massive target. We were on lock down for hours while the woman was running around our area with a gun and then we had to be escorted out of the building with police just in case. Then right after that a school about 5 mins away was in school shooting but with a different ppl. Our area is a target due to all the famous school shootings that ppl idealize took place here. There’s no reason why these ppl should be able to gain access to guns, what happened was terrifying and something needs to change.
Damn at my school a guy took a live a grenade to school and showed it to everyone, I’m glad he didn’t pull the pin, he was expelled and is now allowed on campus ever again.

I was 9 when Columbine occurred. It was the first time I had ever heard of anything like that happening in a school and I felt like school had changed forever after that. Every time I would hear about a shooting at a school after 1999, all I could think about was Columbine. I thought I was overreacting sometimes when I would tell people that Columbine was the tragic spark that seemed to start it all
and then 9/11 happened when I turned 8 and litterally everything changed after that. That's when America took a dump.

How come a lot of school shooters tend to be white boys with family issues?
Fantasy isnt a mental sickness, no matter what the thought...

What Dylan said to his past self was beautiful. i’m not a violent person in any way, but i really needed to hear that. 5:08
People being bullies makes this happen

Marc Borrero You’re not too bright, huh?
No it’s fucking not smfh
Schools foster that kind of behaviour... when you put together large groups of teenagers bullying will happen and eventually lead to such outcomes. The chilling legacy is the failure of schools to provide a safe environment.
I am a senior right now and I think to myself every day any student could hurt me without knowing they have a gun or knife in their backpack.I know there is more safety In high schools now but this can happen anytime still.
I am glad Dillon Cassey got the help he needed before his thoughts turned to a reality and carried out his awful deed
God Bless , Rest In Peace , may God protect over their families Amen 🙏🏾💗

So why not highlighted it again so more kids can try to copy it huh
I love how the media teachers and parents always say "what can we do to stop this from happening" even tho they are probably the reason for this
We need Police Officers protecting every school every school day.
we all wish this but it aint gonna happen chief
No we need to stop pushing people over the edges by being a**holes
Quite a fascistic approach to a sociological problem.
With guns
@@oiuii that would be stupid to let cops walk around with guns at a school

I can tell you how to stop them.have schools do something about bullying

CAPTAIN RBG it is standing up for your self you wouldn’t understand that

Rot in pieces.
Why are news reporters so oblivious. You must see, it is so much deeper than this.
So you give attention to them by making a news report about it? Yea good job.

true, media has been making the mass shooting issue worse for quite awhile.
Adding fuel to the fire, making more kids inspired to do this

You can’t blame school shooters for admiring columbine. Like that was a very iconic shooting
Silly Gily And the media shone the spotlight on it for years to come, inspiring edgy white kids to commit such a heinous act.
BAN LIVING BECAUSE IF WE ALL DIE CRIME RATES WILL GO DOWN TO 0 THINK ABOUT IT
My school was almost in a shooting bc this deranged woman from Florida, I believe, wanted to reenact columbine.
