Little ride out with @Cade_Media. Making some plans and acquiring advice for an attempt at the Everest Challenge and maybe a small bit of bike packing. Thanks for watching.
3rd attempt at posting a comment....lol..but I second the comments on support. It's a long day out. Few tips from me, pick a comfortable hill, not too steep. Your knees will thank you and your concentration from physical and mental fatigue will make the last few reps safer! Fuel up at the top, I made the mistake of choosing the bottom. As I was solo, by the time I stopped, opened the car, found the food, filled up, digested and got back on it was a mad rush. Doing going downhill will be quicker. The stoppage time adds up! My 7minutes break every 4 reps added up to over 2 hrs. But 300km and 16hr 37min....I Everested..... enjoy if you can...but most of all...nowt daft!
Biggest couple of tips I can give you for an Everesting attempt, one, you got a youtube channel use it to your advantage and invite viewers to come and support you. During March 2021 not just my family and friends appeared during the day, but a few viewers too and you'll be surprised what that does for your morale. Yes it's a challenge of strength, but it's very much also a mental challenge. After 106 reps of the same hill over and over again in Lincolnshire, I can confidently say it can get somewhat boring (!) - so you very much need to find ways to keep yourself motivated; perhaps with some music pipped into your ears for a couple of hours and again alternating that so you don't get bored of music. Maybe try listening to some podcasts or preload your phone with some mp3s if you expect not to have any internet. That second tip is around food, I guess its highly likely the climb will not be local and even if it is - go by car. Write down a list of proper food and nutritional food you will need, go buy it, prepare it the night before and cram the back of your boot with all that food goodness and plenty of water. Maybe buy large 6x2L pack of water, because in June your probably gonna need it. As for bikepacking, lots of tips and inspiration on my channel, I recently completed the Race Around the Netherlands - in the final episode I share all my lessons learnt from bikepacking/racing. But most of all... Nowt Daft.
Following, Im planning a Tynemouth - Edinburgh up the coast via as many castles so like 150 miles ish bike packing tour end of September so looking for tips
Hello Bob 👋 ( surname, maybe William? 😉).....sometimes good just to take it easy after mallorca. I know how you feel, post bike blues after a great week away. I do sympathise. An TF & FC Back pack to somewhere......an FC Geordie "nowt daft" marvellous!.....your good lady mirrors so many fellow cyclists! 😉😅👍Time to format that garage sunna! .....a video to go with it?
Nice one Tony... lookin' forward to yer new bike vid (or 'ave I missed somethin'?). The last Everest bid I saw was by someone in Wales - but surely there must be few good climbs in the Pennines?
Is it not McBob coming from Fort Bill? Studio...... next you will get hiring someone else to edit the videos and ride the bikes! Rupert Murdoch will need to watch out. ha ha, Bike packing you will love it. Just dont take too much shit with you, keep it simple. Double bag all your sleeping gear to make sure no rain gets in. Good to see your misses keeps you on your toes! All the best.
Didn't think you could have a day off and not get out on the bike. Everesting never done it, fitness wise I don't think you'll have any problem doing it, to me finding the right sort if hill would be the tricky part.
@@NowtDaftTonyFawcett looks like 402 vertical meters, but another site says 1,330 ft as the height gain. There’s always Great Dun Fell, closed road but 3 step kickers. Lamps Moss over Kirby Stephen way is also worth a look. P
Tony, first two minutes are the fast show, brilliant!
Your lass and my lass must be twins. I also do nowt apart from paying a 'few bills'.
I also spend far too much on unnecessary bits for my bike.

Oh aye the garage is desperate for some love and attention.
@@NowtDaftTonyFawcett A 60 minute garage makeover? There's a TV program somewhere to be had here! 🤔😄
@@NowtDaftTonyFawcett formatting Friday with guidance from office / work space guru Francis Cade!
planning an everest 4th August if you want to double up. couple hills in mind in the North East
Okay I got it, you can make _Bob_ cut the lawn & take out the bins. He's got to do something to justify his stay -- plus it'll make Allison *happy.
Alison: now there's a girl who won't put up with any BS. She's terrific.
😂
Thanks Tony...if anyone knows about bikepacking , I think it is Francis !....Peace
Thought that was 'The Brilliant Kid' from the fast show at the start
😂🤣

Thank you.

Hahaha no you haven’t missed it. My new bike came without a battery for the shimano Di2 which has delayed it. 😢
Please go bike packing, this will be hilarious for sure (& informative of course)
try the Cheviots (coquette valley)for a wee bike packing adventure 🚲⛺👍
Sounds like a good choice and fairly quiet.
Count me in for a bike packing adventure got a few local ideas
Reet let’s get something organised
Tan on the man
Geet lush.

Those jumps are too big for this old man. 😂
You have to do Hammer Square Bank Tony, Shepherd & Shepherdess ideal post Everest venue when ya finish 🍔
Surely it would be about a million times up Hammersquare. Handy though if I crack it’s just a small walk home.
@@NowtDaftTonyFawcett only 120 laps according to the Everesting calculator!
Hmmmm not end of world.
"Masterpieces" ...okay sure 🧐
You're Tony *Kubrick Fawcett
😂🤣😂

How do you do more vlogs than Frances these days?
We should give Francis a break ... I mean he did have travel to/from 'Middle of Nowhere', Kansas (USA) for the Unbound race 😉
Brave filming while going down Hedley hill 😬
Me matty might have a campsite tone keep us informed
Is a campsite cheating?
Alison I know where you are coming from lol
I'm soft because I do everything you don't 🤣
Hartside Tony?
It’s on the maybe list. Quite long but not sure on the gain.
@@NowtDaftTonyFawcett Absolutely agree it’s a bit of a stretch for the gain. But happy to support if you head over as it’s on my doorstep. P

Nowt Daft
I hate the rain, I hate wind, in fact I only like nice weather, am I a bad cyclist? (I do ride in them, wanted to twist)
😂🤣😂
Find a quiet spot where you can get your training camp.
Can’t believe you don’t do the bins? Camp out at The Sands, Durham, I’ve got a new drone 🛸 to film you lol
Sounds perfect. 😂🤣😂
Get back to doing some race vids
I plan to but had to miss a few due to injury and work.
Bike packing? Don't take more than half your weight in camping gear.
