The performance was recorded by pgLang (Kendrick and Dave Free company) They organized an event for Chanel in January and filmed an amazing short movie about it. Thank you for your insights, this is the best video reaction I've seen by far.
Hearing that whole arena yell "WHAT IS IT THE BRAIDS?! I HURT YO FEELINS YOU DONT WANNA WORK W ME NO MORE OK!" sent my spirit to heaven. It was soooo louuuuuud. Was super cool to see he brought Dom Kennedy out, been a long time fan of his.
For me it was the “don’t tell no lies bout me, and I won’t tell truths bout you”. They all yelled that from the pit of their souls as if they were talking to someone too.
No hype man, No background vocals, No water breaks hot ahh sweater the whole time while also ad libbing for the homies. Pure Energry. Pure love for the art form of HipHop. This was a masterclass of performing arts
Kdot did not mess up Euphoria. He had to change lyrics, and he jumped over naming Puff, which is great, and that he had a new verse asking for Pacs ring.
Oh yeah, small addition. Kendrick said "we could be on a 2 hour time difference" in Euphoria because at the time of this performance, drake is not in toronto (3 hours away) he is in Texas at his ranch 2 hours away from Cali.
Kdot was so in amazement at the fans and fellow artists? He was more of a fan than the performer. 😂😂 Watching him soak all it in? (pause)😅 Had me in my bag of emotions. 🥲
@@jashanestoneYou ain't lying. That part where he started "Not like us" for the second time and let the crowd sing while he was just vibing and dancing... I don't even know how many times I replayed it, almost made me emotional 😂😂❤

I'm a 52 yr old basic ass white woman in the suburbs and have never even been to California and I knew who Tommy the clown was. I stumbled upon him on you tube going into different neighborhoods and hosting dance battles. The excitement of the culture in those videos caused me to spend hours during the pandemic looking into black culture and how things function in certain cities. The difference in say LA vs Chicago. It's foreign to me and there's no way I can understand what it's like to be a part of the culture, but I appreciate learning what I can.
The entire crowd knew Dot's song so well. No matter where he was in the song during the "fumble" the crowd, seemingly without missing a beat picked up and was still singing along loud. This truly was Electrifying!!
Seeing an LA show being narrated by a NorCal OG is so Cali. Being from Sacramento I appreciated a quick but important nod to out here. Show was a whole vibe!
What he did by doing this song on repeat was to permanently put this song in your head for days!!! I wake up to A-minorrrrrrrr in my head everyday since this damn concert, sir. It's subliminal, he's a genius.❤❤❤
People who complains about him not reciting every lyric need to chill. NO artist sings every word. Not at a R&B concert, not at a hip hop concert, artist have the right to do whatever they do to keep the party going.
He does that at his shows. The audience loves it. Okay, two hours later and I have watched the whole video of Curtis’ and then Kendrick’s show on Amazon. There were some lyrics missed but he was so smooth with it and even went back and jumped in again at where he left off. He is so good at this! Love the crowd’s energy too!!
He was more so making sure that he could start the next bar. Usually you have a hype man to finish your bars that way you can start your next bar. It’s all about breath control
Had to catch his breath for transition. Theres a lot of word overlap that can be done while recording but difficult to perform. Pauses are necessary unless you have backing track or hype man 👊
K Dot dancing while the crowd sang Not Like Us was, in my opinion, the most iconic part of the performance. And the camera rotating and panning was 🤌 Perfect
Im from the East and Dominican and trust me when I say I UNDERSTOOD the significant of this beautiful historic show. KDOT did it for the culture. Salute to that. My upmost respect.
They were singing it like this was a classic that had been out for years the song less than 2 months old 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 . And I agreed the attire, the stopping, etc if I was Aubrey I’m calling it a simmer I’m not going outside I’m staying on my property 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love my city so happy I was proud attendee. Thank you so much for highlighting Tommy the clown. & Euphoria… the whole song! Omg as the opener!!!! The building shook!
I love about Kendrick is that he enjoys art & true artistry, he’s not a commercial puppet. He loves music, he’s socially conscious & brings an awareness like no other. Curtis’s King tv is very informative & speaks so well that I enjoy his commentary in general.
When our studios are in bathrooms, bedrooms, cars, grocery stores, at work (mumbling it towards the boss under the breath), in our sleep, Kendrick could not compete with the audience. He could've rapped Mary had a little lamb and it wouldn’t trip up the audience. ICONIC!
We all noticed the fumbled lines but it’s all good! Hard to remember all those new lyrics while up on stage with all that adrenaline flowing through your veins. Ken did amazing!
I’m so glad you highlighted Tyler the Creator coming! I literally screamed when he came on the screen lol I wasn’t expecting to see him there and I really wasn’t expecting the crowd’s reaction! Outside of Dre and Kendrick, I think the crowd got the most hype when Tyler came out!
It’s damn near impossible to rap every single word to a song. And these song are so recent. But where Dot needed to take a breath, the crowd was right there to fill that gaps and the part he messed up was so smooth that it didn’t matter. Also, respect to every artist that don’t need to rap over their vocals. The Pop out show was literally a master class on how to throw a concert. And they took the copyrights off the diss records as well as making the whole show available for the home consumers. This was literally a cultural win 🥇 💯🔥🔥🔥
Curtis' breakdowns are so thorough and nuanced, I’m obsessed...l'd been stalking ya channel, just awaitin da wisdom nuggets. Tha/ya context-unparalleled!!!
I'm glad I watched this till the end, Curtiss. Thanks, man. I'm from Zimbabwe but the song talks to me, man! I guess that's what you meant by saying the song is spiritual.
I have been checking UA-cam for your video on this since the concert 😂 I’ve been waiting for this and it did not disappoint! Love your commentary and appreciate your unique perspective it’s amazing to watch 🔥☺️sending love from New Zealand
It’s a performer thing. The crowds energy is centered on one point, the stage. And the more riled up the crowd is and the bigger the audience is, the more electrifying it is on stage. I’ve been on some pretty big stages and it’s a high that is completely intoxicating and if you aren’t a person of strong morals and character it’ll fill you with pride. That being said, for him to stay humble and seek therapy mean too much to even mention.
Naaa the fact that this took place during his birthday week is even more iconic!! Literally two days after his birthday the crowd screamingggg his songs word for word! What a fucking iconic moment for history, i still get goosebumps rewatching it.
I love your breakdown so much! I am glad KDot got to have these moments of love and support, any blunders are completely covered with grace. I wish for him and his family nothing but good and I hope this energy carrys him for months to come. He needed to be poured into after pouring out so, so much. He did not disappoint and Cali did that!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
You are Absolutely correct I’m east coast I’m from the 70, 80, and 90 error so I’m definitely old school you breaking it down about the West Coast rappers and the Iconic arena cool. What Kendrick did definitely open me up to WC Rap, He mixed in the Teddy Pendergrass joint I love it. Not like us had me trying two-step.❤️❤️❤️😊
Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful breakdown down. Thank you for educating folks that don't know or may not understand. The concert had me drop a tear. Kendrick reminds me of Pac on so many levels!!!.

When he records he’s punching in, he can’t perform it word for word live. He skips words to catch his breath. And as far as the fumble on euphoria, he’s literally performing a 6 minute song that came out about a month and a half ago. W Dot.
The Pop Out was such a moment to witness. Kendrick is a genuis and he does this for us. It means so much for the culture and for hip hop. We have to stand together against the culture vultures and those who cape for that behavior because it personally enriches them. all those folks gotta go!
You explaining all the elements that went over my head (new Kendrick fan from the East) made me emotional. Especially the Tommy the Clown part. The whole video was amazing and touching (and funny - "You unseasioned chicken, shut up!" lol). Thank you for explaining all this.
I just discovered your channel and I was catching up on the replays, lol. My little cousin has Steven Johnson Syndrome and she just had surgery on her eyes about two days ago. She was experiencing a second set of eye lashes growing on the inside of her lids…this is why they have a hard time seeing and the effect of sunlight on their eyes. I’m sure it’s not too late for them to repair his eyes. Anywho…love your channel, I also subscribed to your channel ❤❤❤
KDot got Dre to do the intro "I see de*d people" I knew The Game was catching strays. When The Game fell out with Dre, his intro to "One Blood" was "Dre, I see de*d people"
I love you Curtiss!! Glad I found you when i did. As an Aquaius too, I was nervous for Kendrick too. & knowing us air signs, we're a little bit of perfectionists & I was cringing afterr the mishap (&I'll get over it, as a fan) (& can't imagine if it was me because I'd fumble on site with the crowd hype) but I can't take away from the beauty & impact & the energy it had. Still love every moment & I was waiting for your input! Thank you & thank the West Coast. My love, all love!!!

This entire video -> that part. Thank you for breaking this down and having this up on the internets saying what you're saying because it needs to be said. Those "unseasoned chickens" need to hear it and I hope they listen.
What u said starting at 1:02:14 to 1:03:26 reminds me so much of how the industry did lil Kim in favor of nicKIMinaj because she was new on the scene. The same bots Kendrick is having to contend with is what Kim went through... All the media manipulation and false narratives to make that chick appear bigger than she actually was at the time . She literally came in and stole Kim's WHOLE image... Even stole lyrics and all . She would pretend to big Kim up in interviews but would turn around and hop on songs dissing her.. then when Kim would respond they painted her out as "bitter" and a "hater" and the blogs was on young money PAYROLL heavy af back then...
😂 i swear i feel like i’m the only one who has been talking about Drake’s weird ass gang bars. “You know who really bang a set..” and Kendrick had Bloods, Crips, and Hoovers sit down for a group photo 😂😂 your move Aubrey
When Kendrick misses that stanza about "walk around like daft punk" when he repeats "Hey Top Dawg" he's getting himself back on track with where he should be in the song, had he not missed those verses

Kendrick is not just a rapper, he is a deeply spiritual person. Even if he didn't rap, he did won a pulitzer so we know he's a scholar. #fortheculture
The best concert I've ever witnessed !!
Thank you for your breakdown. Greatly appreciated.
I don't know who you are MY BROTHER... THANK YOU FAM!!!KINGS AND QUEENS 👑👑👑
they said this man went out there w a red hoodie some CVS readers and hate and made it happen
You explaining all the elements that went over my head (new Kendrick fan from the East) made me emotional. Especially the Tommy the Clown part. The whole video was amazing and touching (and funny - "You unseasioned chicken, shut up!" lol). Thank you for explaining all this.
GREAT narration... kudos to you !!!!
Yes yes yes yes damn 👏🏽
KDOT doing the Drake dance
KDot got Dre to do the intro "I see de*d people" I knew The Game was catching strays.
When The Game fell out with Dre, his intro to "One Blood" was "Dre, I see de*d people"
😂
When i think of unseasoned chicken i think of boiled goose.
😎..💭 My favorite part was Kendrick and Jay Rock ▶️ 'King's Dead' (aka; Freaked It.) I like how they were going back and forth.💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽 / It was a good concert. Kendrick put on a great performance!👍🏼
Can’t wait for the next breakdown. I was emotional 🤎🙏🏾
I watched the concert more than 0nce and I appreciated the effort and the crowd and the Great energy...
I felt like I was there in L.A.
❤❤🎉🎉 Thank you for sharing 🙏🙏🙏🙏
This entire video -> that part. Thank you for breaking this down and having this up on the internets saying what you're saying because it needs to be said. Those "unseasoned chickens" need to hear it and I hope they listen.
Bro turn me up is my fav dot/soul tune still to this day
Edit: that tee is diabolical btw 😂😂😂🔥🔥
Great reaction video bro!
gooosybumbs all around
Your articulation of the program was beautiful, brother. Much love and a thumbs up to you brother✨👍🏾✨👍🏾
What logical sense do it make to buy bots 2 days later after when it's up 50+ mill already 🤔... "Somebody lyinnn*
THAT PART - I can't tell anyone how many times I listened to it the first day it came out. Repeat.
Russ did speak on the contrary ( Curtis covered it too ) but I don’t think it applies to Kdot . He is Him
What u said starting at 1:02:14 to 1:03:26 reminds me so much of how the industry did lil Kim in favor of nicKIMinaj because she was new on the scene.
It's like being the last person in the 4 x 100 relay. You gotta bring it home! With a stadium full of people that expect some magic from you!
Not a performer, just a music lover, but I literally got chills at the moment you asked!! Lol
This is literally an Assassination Classroom lesson to ANY rapper that thinks they can step to Kung Fu Kenny! Period! I Love My People!!!!!🤍🤍🤍🤍
Man I appreciate your commentary! The info is dope and insightful. Also how much you enjoy this hip hop shit is very evident! Keep it up brotha
Kdot is the new Burce lee with how he disses
Dope show
❤so beautiful for him to lead his friend Abso on stage cause his friend is partially blind. He held him and led the way. So beautiful to see. ❤
His outfit was a tribute to 2Pac
Ok
When Kendrick misses that stanza about "walk around like daft punk" when he repeats "Hey Top Dawg" he's getting himself back on track with where he should be in the song, had he not missed those verses
Yup
