Great videos, especially this steady wing and shot - series. Huge help for newbie, like me. Its also interesting to see, how certain things differ for example Finn way of think and train.
For example, situation in this video (4:15) reminded me one situation and way my dog (now approx. 2,3 year old male GSP) "deals with" birds.
We we’re training with pigeons and launchers first time 2 years ago (Coco was half year old). He was standing pigeon and wind changed a bit. Coco took a few steps backwards and rotated a bit for a better wind. Instructor said that this was a sign of intelligent hunting dog.
On the other hand, Coco has done it later couple of times, under couple of different instructors and it seems opinions differ in this kind of behavior. One time Coco flushed a pheasant while rotating to better wind, for localizing a bird better from big pile of branches.
So what do you think? Is this kind of behavior more of a pro or con? (hopefully you got the point despite my bad written English).

@standingstonekennles I have the problem with my dog where where we try to shoot at a pheasant and if we miss he still try’s and go after it so how can you correct that ? And my dog is a male GSP.

Is he cautious because he is worried about a correction? Can you please explain what you mean by this and what causes it? I'm asking because I want to know what to look for in my dog who acts very differently than this.

You keep the breeding pigeons and with the babies or do you separate them

Good example of an over trained dog. That dog needs running without any birds. He’s always cautious not really ripping and tearing it up when he’s running.
