Ailunce HD1 Firmware v1.5.8 Update - TheSmokinApe

In this video we upgrade the firmware on the Ailunce HD1 from v1.5.4 to v1.5.8 in order the take advantage of the new increase in DMR Contact ID storage. The HD1 can now store 200,000 DMR IDs. We also go through the process of doing the Contact ID database update.

How are you liking this radio so far? It seems like a pretty solid unit. Although it would be helpful if the firmware update didn't wipe out the code plug.

I might not have wiped it, I think it did but I shot the video last week and then got sick and did the voiceover today.
As for the radio I really like it, has had zero problems and I use it all the time.
Like most of the Chinese DMR radios there is a constant evolution of features and bug fixes with each firmware update. Ailunce / Retevis seems to be committed to continued updates at this point.

200k....whoa, that's crazy. How are you rating this vs the Btech?

I like both radios and use them daily. The BTECH is a little smaller and good for EDC type stuff while the HD1 is; bigger, more rugged and water “proof” so its what I take when hiking / camping or doing outdoors type stuff. Both are decent priced capable DMR radios IMO.
