Clothing fabrics include cotton, silk, wool, and polyester, to name a few. Fabrics are made from yarn, which is made from fibres. Fibres can be natural or synthetic. Cotton, wool, silk, and jute are examples of natural fibres, while nylon and polyester are examples of synthetic fibres. Cotton and jute are two examples of plant-based fibres. Spinning is the process of making yarn out of fibres. Weaving and knitting are two techniques for making fabric out of yarn.
