And you can find the best coxinha in a pub called Veloso, here in São Paulo (Vila Mariana neighborhood, actually not so far from Paulista avenue). They have the best caipirinha too. You need to go there, guys!
Dude... If you go to Minas Gerais, be prepared to gain some weight, haha... That state is known as kind of a "grandma's house state" people make some of the best food and they ALLWAYS push you more and more food. Also, people there are specially kind, calm, welcoming and sweet. Here in Brasil everybody allways says that "people from Minas are the best hosts". Well, brazilians are good hosts, but in Minas... Over the top!

Many Brazilians don't eat the weird meats in the feijoada. There is no shame in eating just the sausage, for example. The important thing is that the meats are in the stew, so the typical Feijoada taste is there. But everyone can eat whatever they are comfortable with. Cheers

Your mom's pronunciation was very good for somebody who's never spoken or heard Portuguese before. We make pao de queijo with different types of cheese maybe the ones you had there were made with parmesan cheese which in my opinion are the best kind. Good coxinhas are hard to find even in Brazil. Next time try to find boneless feijoada, you'll ve able to enjoy the food without worrying about new textures

Falo aqui de Goiás, e a única coisa que posso dize ré que em MG é bem mais fácil encontrar, mas mesmo assim a boa sempre vai ser minoria.. A grande maioria dos vendedores só querem lucrar, então fazem aquela coxinha genérica como o amigo acima falou.. ou é massa demais, ou muito recheio com aquele frango seco e tosco (isso pra não falar das vezes q tem uns ossinho dentro q dá até nojo)...

My grand parents are japanese and my parents brazilian. One curiosity about the pastel ; the pastel was created by the japanese imigrants in Brazil. At imigration times, they tried to make some spring rolls ( harumaki) with the products they had in Brazil and the pastel was created! Wish all the best!! I´ll keep watching ur videos!!!!

Feijoada have some parts of pork that people don’t usually eat, but isn’t that bad because is only feet, ears and tail, but only traditional feijoada have. If you think about even sausage is kinda weird because the skin is made from pigs intestines, but I understand when we not used to a food we have a mental block.
I'm Brazilian and all this food is so familiar to me :) It's true that Brazilian food can be quite different to many other cultures! I love pao de queijo and this is what I missed the most when living abroad.
Hey man, as a Brazilian I found the video very interesting and I'm happy to see this cultural exchange. I'd love to visit Canada one day (especially the Northern territories, since I'm extremely interested in the cultures of the Inuit people). Though of course, there are other regions that interest me. And I want to try Canadian food for sure! :) PS: In the 2000s, they aired a ton of Canadian shows and cartoons here! I grew up watching them.

Feijoada have some parts of pork that people don’t usually eat, but isn’t that bad because is only feet, ears and tail, but only traditional feijoada have.
If you think about even sausage is kinda weird because the skin is made from pigs intestines, but I understand when we not used to a food we have a mental block.

I'm Brazilian and all this food is so familiar to me :) It's true that Brazilian food can be quite different to many other cultures! I love pao de queijo and this is what I missed the most when living abroad.

I'd love to visit Canada one day (especially the Northern territories, since I'm extremely interested in the cultures of the Inuit people). Though of course, there are other regions that interest me. And I want to try Canadian food for sure! :)
PS: In the 2000s, they aired a ton of Canadian shows and cartoons here! I grew up watching them.
