- The Famous Eagles Deli food challenge from the Man V Food show with Adam Richmond. This 12lb burger challenge consists of 6lb beef (12 patties), 24 pieces of bacon, 2 pieces of cheese, and 5lb fries. This is known to be one of the hardest food challenges in America, and one of the few in the Boston area. With countless attempts of this crazy food challenge, and a few notable winners like Furious Pete, and Joey Chestnut, can we join the winning wall of fame for this giant burger challenge?

I was born and raised in the Boston area. As a child, my parents would take me to the North End to get freshly baked Italian bread and go to the fish market. I hope you had fun and enjoyed your time there Joel. It really is a beautiful place.

Welcome to Mass and well done! Sorry about the injury, torso injuries are no joke. I wish I knew you were here for this one! I always love a reason to visit eagles deli. The rumor I heard was the town of Brighton told the Deli they couldn’t make the challenge bigger and that’s why it has stayed the 11-12lbs. In any event it’s a wicked huge challenge that doesn’t need to be any bigger!
As for Boston food challenges, I actually don’t think there are many. You could reach out to Geoff to see what he thinks. You might be better teaming up with him and doing a few challenges at his place lol.
I’m not sure if it’s back yet but I highly recommend trying to visit the Chocolate bar, an all you can eat chocolate buffet at the Langham hotel. You would crush it!

Great video tour of the city. You did a great job for never visiting before. I am so glad you got to witness a classic bum fight at the Irish Famine Memorial. No one has better bum-fights than Boston!

When i was a kid in 1980 I went to Boston and realized how much it had in common with my Montreal. Also, I had awesome donuts made by a guy with a mobile deep fryer. 25 cents.

I like my burgers with & without veg, but the main thing is I like some burg on my mayonnaise. Enough (Best Foods) mayo just can’t be applied to the bread/bun, so I like to fill a bowl with mayo & dip heavily into it. Heck, I love just plain mayo & Tabasco sandwiches, so it’s not a surprise that I pack the stuff on my burgs, dogs & pretty much every type of sandwich, especially tuna. Anyway,cool challenge.

Enjoyed your trip around Boston, my home town. Living here all my life I forget how much history took place there. Point of interest, that last cemetery you showed has several famous people buried there including Mother Goose. In the background at the waterfront were the masts of Old Ironside, the oldest commissioned ship in the U S Navy. Oh and congratulations on beating another challenge even though injured. You're amazing and Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄

Crazy challenge. I watched Furious Pete take it down but he was only on eight patties and he dunked. Watched Brandon do it, Miki Sudo now Joel. That tray of fries should be considered an offensive weapon. Hope you are on the mend Joel👍🍟🍟🍟🍟. When Adam Richman attempted the Eagle Challenge, it was about the same quantity of food (roughly 12 pounds) as it is now. Since he acknowledged in the episode that he couldn't eat it all, the challenge was to eat a greater weight of burger and fries than a morbidly obese former employee named Chuck. Richman consumed over seven pounds but lost by a single ounce.

I've been to Boston once and oddly enough stayed at the Marriot Wharf you filmed toward the end. Amazing town, cemeteries all throughout the downtown area. The skulls and wings on the tombstones were fascinating. I asked the porter about a good place to get a sandwich and he gave us directions. I'm from the South and couldn't understand him as his accent was so heavy, usually it is my accent that is heavy. The sandwich shop was just like the Seinfeld episode of the Soup Nazi, you needed to know exactly what you wanted when you reached the counter, otherwise it was "no soup for you."

I'm definitely a fan of veggies on my burger. Lettuce, tomatoes, onions and of course some condiments. Pickles are just cucumbers soaked in brine mixed with dill so technically you got cucumber and dill which is a vegetable and an herb with the burger but yeah not enough to be considered adequate veggies for that many patties.
