I am so sorry to hear about your grandma, though I am glad you could be with her. My grandparents were all dead by the time I was born, so I have always envied those who got to know and love theirs. With reckless abandon, I cast on without swatching. HOWEVER I did measure my gauge on my shift cowl, so that's basically one big gauge swatch for the sweater 😂
